5.1.1 OTA? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

So today(5-15) I saw online that T-Mobile USA released the 5.1.1 OTA for there branded Galaxy S6/S6 Edge, so any info on when the Verizon branded version is coming out? I'm having multiply major bugs(wifi, memory, and lagging) across 3 different S6 devices(original device and 2 replacements) since launch day. Also, the Verizon Branded OTA that just came out brought me new bugs like with Google voice to text giving me 2 new bugs and making it unusable. Also, apps are freezing like crazy and ends up freezing the whole phone and when I try to lock the phone with the power button when an app is freezing it opens up the camera instead of locking the phone and most of the time I have to restart the phone when this happens and it happens quite often, but only started after the Verizon OTA. Also, from launch day(across all 3 devices) I been having memory issues with the phone, it tells me it has between 1GB-1.2GB of total memory on the phone and I only have 748MB total available with only very few apps on the phone at the moment, everything closed and all the bloatware gone off the phone. I herd that the Verizon OTA we just got was suppose to fix the memory issue, but apparently for me it did nothing at all with the memory on my phone. and lastly I'm having the major wifi bug a lot of us are having witch for me started on the 6th day after launch and never worked again even after I had 3 different devices and still the same thing is still ongoing, and in fact the Verizon OTA we just got made the wifi bug even worst then before.
So the 5.1.1 OTA is really needed for me to fix these ongoing and new bugs I'm having and after 2 months I'm getting sick and tired of waiting for patches to come out!

You probably should go into your system recovery and clear cache. That will probably help a majority of your bugs.

I already did that and nothing changed at all, and like I said I had 3 different devices and nothing changed at all. In fact the 3rd device I got which I still have was giving me problems from very first time I turned it on and during the initial setup as soon as I turned it on from the FedEx box and the keyboard was slow and not putting the letters I clicked in the box and to click next/skip, restart or power off I had to use my pointer finger and press multiple times and fast like a woodpecker would on a tree in order for those functions to respond, and before I can even finish the initial setup I had to already do a factory reset on the phone. Even typing right now in this box responding to you the phone is lagging just typing now.

Don't think Verizon has announced anything yet. The current G920VVRU1A0E2 works fine for me.

To help with keyboard lag - go into settings and make sure the proper language is intalled and updated. Have you tried different keyboards? Swiftkey?

Well 3 different phones since launch day have been giving me all different kinds of problems and never had a device with out a major problem in it and the new Verizon OTA that just came out in June made the phone even worst then before. The Build for the update is G920VVRU1A0E2, and in fact I even had problems getting the update on my phone because from launch day of the OTA-4days after it came out the OTA would not fully download and give me error code 503 and it wasn't until the 5th day that it worked and then when I finally got it installed on my phone it just brought more bugs to the phone like I talked about in the OP

Have you tried using Odin to flash back to stock with the full tar file instead of the update? If not go here and give it a shot. If you use the OE2 one you will have to factory data reset to wipe your phone clean either after or before you flash.

yea I tired that, but this started as soon as I turned on my phone for the very 1st time trying to do the initial set up, plus like I said even pressing next/skip, power off or reset in the initial setup was a hassle. I had to take my pointer finger and point it down and press fast and many times like a woodpecker in order for the buttons functions to work and I could not even finish the initial setup and had to already do a factory reset before the initial setup was even finished on the 3rd device I have now. The phone is so bad that even clicking the home button some of the apps, Google search and weather is not on screen right away and takes second or 2 to show up, its lagging to show up.

3 different devices and still the same exact major things plus new things on each device are going on with the phone. Switching out the device should fix it all, but I guess this is not the case here. Plus about the wifi issues I'm in a XDA forum 13 pages long about the phones wifi not working(I know it says edge, but it's the same problems with the S6 and S6 edge so no difference)

They already said that the new update(5.1.1) is taking away root

My 1st phone which arrived on Sat came with G920VVRU1A0E2 out of the box.
Other than normal setups, and uninstalling Google Play Services and Google Play it has not had any problems.
Perhaps you should go into a store and show them how it is not working?

I did on launch day, I went back to the same corporate store a few hours later and got into a fight with the sales rep who sold me the phone a few hours earlier and the store GM because they were Ignorant because my phone was hot as fuc k at 90F and hotter and they said nothing was wrong. On top of that they even lied to me about having the edge devices in stock on launch day and even pulled out the normal S6 trying to trick me and it was not until I said something did he say oh this is not an edge and then said there was no edge's in stock, but while I was waiting in line I asked him and 2 other reps and they all said they had the white 64GB edge in stock. They rather lie to there customers to make a sale then tell the truth(at least this corporate store location), and then when you have problems with the phone they don't care to help you at all. Even 611 said this was very wrong and made a complaint on mine and 611's behalf on the corporate store and the sales rep.

Here is an update, as of recently my phone is getting really really hot and temperatures of 120F+ and even Verizon technical support saw that through their diagnostic system as it was actually on those temperatures at that very moment when they were looking. Also, from me just being tech savvy and Verizon technical support confirming it as well this phone is also supposed to have a safeguard in the phone and if it gets too hot the device is upposed to power off on its own, but apparently the safeguard is not working because when the phone gets very hot the battery starts flashing and in the middle of the screen it tells me the phone is very hot and it only lets me click OK. If I'm charging the phone the battery flashes and say the same thing but just adds unable to charge, & I can unplug the charger and immediately plug it back in to the phone and it will start charging again and then a few minutes later it will give me the same message. When it's doing that its not supposed to tell me anything it's supposed to just shut off and its not doing so.
So there overheating policy states that I have to bring my phone too a corporate store and they're going to replace the device right on spot. So Sunday I went to the corporate store to do that, but for some reason their system wouldn't allow them to process this because it didn't have an option to do it and the general manager and the store representative we're booth trying together for at least 45 minutes. They ultimately ended up just sending me a replacement device via Fedex to my house and when the phone arrives today(7-2) I have to bring the overheating device that I currently have to the store so they can do what they need to do to send it back because by law I'm not allowed to send an overheating device back. Verizon corporate store processed my order on Sunday and I was supposed to get the device on Tuesday but I'm getting it today due to inclement weather at the FedEx Memphis Tennessee hub and so Fedex at the Memphis Tennessee hub was at a complete standstill and my package was part of it.
Once I get my 4th replacement device and start using it for a while I will let you know how it's working

[Q] Error during boot-up after firmware upgrade: "No certificate to inject".
I updated my firmware to V10.4.2.17 WW manually. My tablet is not rooted or unlocked. The first thing I noticed was that my Transformer 300T now gives some sort of error message in the upper left corner (below the power button) during boot-up, the message is "No certificate to inject". It happens at every boot-up and doesn't seem to give any problems, but I'm curious if other people get it. Also I'm curious what it means exactly.
Any ideas?
Same issue here. I also cannot unlock bootloader or update vía OTA.
Help me too No certificate to inject, a new tablet
Same here, thanks for helping...
Same here:
I waited 2 weeks to see if I was getting it via OTA, ...but nothing, ...not even when manually asking for it via Settings -> Firmware update.
So I decided to go the manual way via the Micro SD card; all went fine BUT, now I have for 5 seconds, every time I boot, the same message:
No certificate to inject
Why ?
Thanks for your help !
Id like to add that I have the same issue with my new tf300t. Only did an update because I wanted to have the latest firmware but I kinda regret it. Has anyone found a solution?

Same problem
I have the US version and mine is brand new. The firmware update which was pushed to my tab VIA OTA has rendered it completely useless. I get the error, " no certificate to inject" and it does nothing but crash. If it goes to sleep or if I hit the power button to turn the screen off it will not wake up and I have to long press the power button to reboot. I can't even use it, it's basically a paper weight now. Does anyone have a clue how I can fix this? Should I try to flash the old firmware? If so can someone point me to a link on how to go about it.
I called Asus and they did not want to walk me through flashing firmware. They want to set up an RMA.
I've tried a cold boot, factory reset and data wipe.

Wow that really sucks. If its a paper weight and they offered to do an RMA why wouldnt you? Im still waiting on ASUS to reply to my email! lol. Look it's brand new and its basically a brick. Unless they can give you a solution thats easy i would just go through the return process.
edit: they emailed back saying that doesnt sound right and to do a factory reset. While i knew that wouldnt fix it i did it anyhow since i didn't have much data to lose. Long story short they want to RMA mine as well. Ugh.
RMA
So yep I sent it in for RMA, Very disappointing that and update did this to my brand new tab.

same here, dont feel so bad. It sucks.
So I got it back today from RMA and guess what? On the very first start up it still says no certificate to inject. Unreal, why didn't they correct this? It seems like the only thing they did was flash the old firmware back. Now my tablet is asking me to update and I don't want to because the last time it turned it into a pile of crap.

They want me to RMA it again. I wish I never bought this thing. It seems to be working fine, but I have a bad feeling about letting it do the firmware update.
Why didn't they fully update it when they had it? Also are they blind? It's completely obvious the error message is still there during boot up and I was very specific about it.

apparently they ARE blind. The message is quite easy to see when you turn it on. To be honest i wish i never did the firmware update when i first got it for Xmas. Thats when this all started for me. I'll let you know what happens with mine so you can either hate me or feel a little better knowing my predicament.
HAHAHA, I hope your doesn't have the error. Now I don't want to do the firmware update, because I know what happened last time. But on the other hand what am I supposed to do, never update my tablet ever again?
Would I even be able to skip the firmware update but still take any OS update they may push in the future?
The RMA is good for 30 days so I think I'm going to see what happens. It seems perfectly fine right now, no issues with it not waking back up.
Ok little update, it still has the error message, but is working very well. It's reading my SD card (which it didn't before) and no issues with it waking back up. I also ran the update and all seems fine. I'm going to mess around with it for the next few days and see if misbehaves. If it works perfectly fine and still has the message then so be it, I'm not going to send it back in.

Well i got it back shockingly no error message anymore but i also notice it wasn't factory restored. No problem i did that myself. Of course it downloaded the firmware update and wants to install which i chose NOT to. Not sure if and when i will decide to do it. lol. How annoying.

Well I ran the update, and it seems perfectly fine. I wish they had cleared up the error message, but I've been going at the thing all day and it seems perfect. They gave me a new RMA, but if it continues to run perfectly I'll just take that as a win.
I unfortunately am having the same problem..
I have gone through 2 tablets now at Best Buy.. The first one went from stock to .20 release and started getting the error.. So I get another one.
I figure that I'll be smart now and I have 2 other TF300's and the one that I had previoiusly all had no issues.. So I figure I will update to the previous release first..
Now I'm getting the message..
It did download the latest release but when it goes to install the OTA it fails.. EXTREMELY frustrating.. A TOTAL waste of my time.. I really want to kill myself right now.
Anyway... I'll manually update to the latest version and maybe pick a different Best buy..
I of course also put my Armor Shild on this one because I figured there was no way that I got two doing this in a row..
Yeah.. 40 bucks down the drain.. .I will call Asus and make some tech supports ears bleed tomorrow.. Yeah I know it's not his fault but.. well it's his fault.
Any new info on this?
Hello everyone, just got back into tech toys and having time to play around etc. Anyway got the same error after OTA update, also Keyboard spacebar does nothing anymore and the mouse pad doesn't work at all either. Looked online everywhere and figured if there was an answer for this it would be in these forums and haven't found one. Had to make a new account on here and haven't had the time to mess with anything in a while so it's all new to me again. Any help would be great, kinda scared to try anything after reading so many different ways to brick this thing- have an email in to asus, 3 acually, and no responses back on any of them and it's been months..thanks for any info - really want to unlock/root/recover and try some of these awesome looking ROMS but am stuck with this error and no response back from asus.

Same here. I used to use Google Wallet before the update on CVS once in a while. However after the update I'm not able to use it anymore.
Not rooted, running stock Android 4.4.3. OTA Verizon Updated.
I am resetting my phone now and will try soon when I get another chance. Anyway, how did it go for you? is yours working now? I do not have insurance, just ran out two days ago when I did a plan change. Sucks big time now that I have to get to know that it doesn't work. Also, just to be sure I tried ISIS/Softcard Wallet as well to see if it is the Google Wallet itself is blocked or handicapped for some reason. But to my surprise, ISIS/Softcard does not work as well. I am doubting the hardware now. Or this is a solid 4.4.3 Update bug that is causing our device to not function as normal. Question is, is Verizon aware of this? How do we report this to Verizon?
According to what I see here, only few have been affected it seems? or is it so?
I am left with many more questions than answers ever since the update.
P.S - After the update my phone isn't as smooth as it was before either. Feels like the I am experiencing choppy frame rates often times. But not to the level that I will fault the phone.
Please help. Let me know what worked for you and what didn't.

Thanks for the response, Honestly, anything and everything helps. Since you have a Verizon M8, assuming from your signature, I guess I am in the minority or rare bunch who's device is affected. I am glad to know that your device is functioning as normal.
I do not have insurance at the moment. And I am sad to learn that I have to send my device to HTC for repairs. Which takes about 10-14 days without phone.

You should be covered under verizons one year manufacturer warranty go in to a verizon corporate store they will probably overnight you another m8, and from what most assume usually they seem to always send a new m8 because they are really hard to disassemble so many thing they replace with new. I know many people that got an m8 replaced through asuron the verizon and at&t insurance and everyone says they got a new one because you can go into the settings and they dont show reconditioned and usually show a build date within a couple months of when they receive them.
I say take it to a verizon owned corporate store steer clear of verizon dealers a corporate store can do more for you like overnight you a replacement.
Bit the bullet and called HTC.

Bit the bullet and called HTC. Found out there is another program that they send out a device in advance, overnight that is along with a mailer envelope to return our old unit. But it seems they put a hold on your card for 599 and also a 29 one time fee for this to happen. I am thinking if it is worth going this route. At least this will solve my problem of being without a phone.
But before I do that, I have made sure the HTC Rep to record our coversation and give me time to call back, so that I can test it out one more time.
( Did I tell you some HTC reps are dumb? The first one I talked to, the girl was so stupid that she did not know what is NFC and asked me to explain what it is, and how to use it. Asked me to pause, stopped me numerous times and made me repeat what was not working. After all that, she still did not get it. Hung up the phone on me and left, and did not bother to call me on my backup callback number. Lol. )
---------- Post added at 02:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:40 PM ----------
Just went to CVS and tried my Google Wallet. Wholla, it worked. So the second reset seemed to have fixed the problem. Or did it? I am not sure, only time will tell. I will keep on trying once in a while to be sure that it is not just a fluke.
Here is what I did.
The HTC rep (the second one that is, first one was dumb and rude due to her limited understanding) asked me to reset the phone once more, and when the phone booted up, I unchecked the Settings > Power > Fastboot option. Disabled Softcard/ISIS Wallet in App settings, Installed Google Wallet again. And all seems to be in order now. Not sure what caused the initial trouble.
I will be on the look and report if the trouble comes back again.
Thanks for the suggestions and feedback guys.

So as my previous post suggested, after a hard reset and disabling the Softcard/ISIS app, and having Google Wallet as the exclusive app, the tap and pay worked at the CVS. However, when I tried again last night, it is no longer working and not registering the tap anymore at the terminal.
I am confused. Is it the hardware? Should I go ahead with the replacement device from HTC? or Should I just blame the software and keep the phone as is. Although my contacts and account is backed up in Google accounts, I still think its a hassle reinstalling 50+ apps, and restoring the phone to its fully functional day to day state that suited me. I just do not like the hassle of swapping phones.
Any last suggestions guys? Or hardware swap is my only way?
Switched Phones, gave up on HTC One m8.

Update - Got rid of the HTC One M8, swapped for a Galaxy S5 on craigslist and guess what, Google wallet works fine there. Yes, although that is a Verizon phone as well, grass is definitely greener on that side. I do not like the menu system and UI, color etc, but what it supposed to do, it does without any issues. Yes I miss the aluminum body and the build, also the sense 6, but the ease of use with fingerprint sensor and the vibrancy of amoled screen picks up the slack. Wish HTC can use Amoled screens as well.
I was able to use google wallet no problem after the 4.4.3 update at CVS this is however before CVS disabled their NFC payment system.
Stock Rooted.
I was able to use it just fine at Walgreens this morning.
Never had a problem with it 4.4.3 or 4.4.4

Guide to updating your H950 (US AT&T variant) to 5.1.1 via OTA

Hi, I just wanted to give everyone some information to updating to 5.1.1 as many of you are probably buying these due to the recent sales. If you don't want to root but wanted the 5.1.1 update through AT&T, here is the guide. You could also try rolling the date method but it did not work for me. I actually bought a bunch of these phones for friends and family, and I've updated five of them to 5.1.1 through AT&T OTA update, and this method is very time efficient
Side note: if you have more than one G Flex2 that you are looking to update, you can update them all using just one sim and swapping them between phones.
Before you begin, do a factory reset under settings if you've already pressed software update and tried rolling the date a few times to get the update. Afterward, do not press software update until you are sure that the AT&T person has pushed the update.
*If you had previously rooted your phone, you must unroot before trying the OTA update, as it will prevent it from installing.
Here are my steps (probably takes around 30 minutes):
1. Register for the gophone plan with the AT&T sim card and put the minimum $10 credit into the plan. For the IMEI, put all zeroes in. This will allow you to select the $2 monthly plan, which you ultimately won't be selecting but instead will select the $1 100mb daily package after your account and sim have been activated.
2. Turn the phone on with your newly activated gophone sim. TURN ON WIFI and keep it on WIFI until your update is downloaded, installed, and finished.
3. Directly call the gophone support line: 800.901.9878, and voice navigate your way to technical support (it's an automated system).
4. When the person picks up on customer service, ask them to put you through to advanced technical support, and if they ask what the call is for, tell them that you were disconnected while talking with an advanced technical support line as this will get you where you need to faster.
5. Ask the person on advanced technical support to push an update to your phone, and tell them that you've tried manually updating through the software update on your phone under settings numerous times. If they insist that they cannot push updates and you have to do it yourself on your phone, tell them that your friend has a G Flex2 with a gophone plan, and he/she was able to get the update pushed with a call to advanced technical support. If you think that the support person is being stubborn and not even attempting to try it, just hang up and try again.
6. Help the support person find the update that you are looking for by telling them the update is called H95011x. DO NOT get the H95011z beforehand, as it will not help you. Ask explicitly for the H95011x update. You can also read some more information from this page, which is the link to the page with the update information (edit: cannot post the link since I'm a newbie... Alternatively, you can find the software info page it if you type H95011x on google and look for the link to the site att.com)
7. Keep asking them to push update from their side, and you will know that they've pushed it when you go to the software update under settings on your phone and it says something different now. Instead of "look for update software" or something similar, it will now say, "continue with software update". When you press it, a notification will appear, saying "communication in progress". Tap on the button a few times to make sure that it keeps saying "communication in progress".
8. When you see "communication in progress", just leave the phone alone for the next hour or two, as the phone is downloading the update file without showing you any sort of progress bar. Keep the phone connected to wifi.
9. Come back and a notification will prompt you to install update and the phone will restart.
Hope this helps! I know that getting the AT&T OTA update can be a pain and I wished that I had some guide to follow when I was first trying to get the update.
I am on 5.0.1 v10d right now and rooted. Do I have to unroot in order for the update to work?

I'm not sure, but reading things about going from AT&T 5.1.1 to rooting 5.1.1 PR bricking some phones makes me think that it might be a good idea to unroot.
This is the best guide/advice on how to get 5.1.1 update. Took me 20 min to get the H95011x update and another 15 min on same date to get H95011z.
I wasted about 2 hours trying to get the update OTA by changing dates using my coworker's sim card on Att postpaid plan.
When I read this guide I knew right away the $10 top up will not be waisted. I went ahead and followed it exactly and am so glad I did. The phone is so much better now.
khlavkalash thank you for taking the time, register and putting together this guide! I will also try to contribute by answering further questions in this thread.
Here is the link for the AT&T website detailing the H95011z update. Now if I could just find a rep that is capable of pushing the update to my phone. Grr.
Wish this worked...
I followed this process twice (on two separate days) and they insisted that updates are released only in "batches" and that they have zero control over pushing updates. This phone is awesome, but with it being tethered to ATT for updates makes it so hard to love.

I've had the same issue as you. I was lucky enough to have my sim associated with an iphone plan from way back in the day. As soon as the tech associated my sim to an android data plan it kicked off the 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 H95011x update. Now trying to get them to push the H95011z update has been an adventure in futility.
I will update you if I find another way.

Hmm, I opened a new gophone plan and added 10 bucks of data just so I could do this. Been sitting on my shelf for the better part of two days doing nothing. I hope you get the H95011z update soon. Heck, I'd be thrilled to just get the x update.
Thanks for the info.

Make sure you talk to advanced technical support and use the first rep that picks up the phone just to get transferred further.
If advaced tech says it comes in batches - tell him "I understand this is normal process, however according to my extensive research there is an issue with this particular phone getting update automatically. My friend had the update pushed by advanced technical support last week. Please ask arround how to do it."
Be polite and they will do it. I called last Saturday. Both reps knew how to do it, both were very courteous and even insisted to stay on the phone until the whole process is completed althogh it was not needed.

Hmm perhaps I will give that a try. Honestly, I am okay with waiting for the update but the real issue is how long will I have to wait? A few days is fine but weeks....that isn't worth it. When a get a few more free moments I will try again. Hopefully this time I can get someone to push it out to me. I did get to advanced tech support and the guys were super courteous; they just insisted on me waiting.
Thanks for the help!
I finally got a tech to push the update after convincing him to do a google search for H95011z. Update started and then failed, when it booted the notification was that it failed because root detection was triggered. This is after I used the tool to bring my phone back to stock and downloading a root checker app that showed I do not have it. Sigh, back to square one.

Please add a note to unroot/not be rooted before starting this process. If the phone is rooted it will not update from the OTA download
Also note that the system restore might not strip all artifacts from rooting.

FYI I posted this in another thread. It doesn't help you get to 5.1.1 but it might help you go from x variant to z.
Finally got a tech to do the push but the push failed because it detected ROOT even though I had done the system restore along with verified with root checker saying no root installed.
At that point I gave up because my only option was a factory flash. On a whim I decided to run the backup/restore tool with the 11z .img file knowing I had nothing to lose. From what I can tell so far, it worked fine and I'm now running 11z. I ran the stagefright detector and now my device only shows one vulnerability instead of several.
I will now start tearing it apart with root and etc, if it craps out I'll let everyone know.

I finally decided that waiting for ATT to push out an update that likely wasn't going to come anytime soon wasn't worth it and flashed the H950PR rom. It was super simple, very quick and went through without a hitch. It runs WAY faster than the 5.0.1 rom from ATT and no bloatware....gotta love that. The only thing that doesn't work is the LG Smart World app cause it detects me being in another country (even though I'm in the US) but there is a web interface that works just the same so no big deal. I have fully working LTE and my battery life is superb.
Thanks for all your help and your in depth guide. I (and other I'm sure) very much appreciate your efforts.
Congrats! I am jealous, I had updated my phone to 5.1.1 before the PR option was discovered.

Well since I never had the ATT one, I cannot say exactly. But judging from the 5.0.1 that the phone came with, it doesn't get nearly as hot, the battery life is quite a bit better (used to get about 3-4 hours of SOT, now its 5-6), standby battery is CRAZY good, its runs generally faster, plus the update came straight from LG so when they release another update it will come straight from them making it easy to update. The same update method should work. The only thing I truly miss is the Glance from the lock screen. It still works, but it used to have a lit background image; now it doesn't have that. Its just the normal material color background. Nothing huge, just a very very minor cosmetic thing.

ATT OTA 5.1.1 does the same.
On the other note, I do not understand how are you planning to get update directly from LG. My understanding is that you will have to wait for that small PR cell company to release another update and somebody to come up with a way to apply it. I have more faith in ATT, then into a small PR cell company in regard to supporting this phone with future updates

A note for T-Mobile Jump On Demand customers

After giving the V10 a month, I decided to swap it out (why is for another thread, I suppose). I had rooted and installed TWRP, so I used the stock files provided in the dev threads to go back to stock and relock the bootloader. I did a factory reset to make sure everything was working properly.
When I went to turn in the device, the guy at the store ran a phone code and got a code back from the network. Apparently, it does a check to make sure the device is the same one that I originally purchased and that it hasn't been rooted (in a Samsung phone's case, it checks Knox status as well). If it comes back as rooted or having ever been rooted, he said the system will deny the exchange. Mine passed (since thankfully LG's stuff can be completely reset), and I didn't volunteer that I had rooted it.
Just be aware that you need to go completely to stock in order to return the phone to swap out for a new one. I'll assume if your phone get's flagged in the system once, you can't ever return it, even if you try to flash back to stock again.
I love Jump on Demand, but I think it's going to keep me stuck unrooted for the most part - can't risk blowing $700.
Thanks for the heads up! With JUMP it shouldn't matter, but a device exchange may flag.

I rooted my Note 4 and 5 with twrp aswell.... Did jump from both with no problem! My last jump was Nov. 15th for the V10 and the promo and had no problem, must be a new policy!!! But yes, always go back to stock before upgrade lol
That's good you passed the network check, I wonder how that works? When you rooted, did you freeze that weird pr.adapt app that kept requesting root access?

I did freeze it, but the T-mobile app (which I use to check my data usage) still saw that my device was rooted, even though I never gave that app root access. However, when I start the app, I told it I didn't want it to share any info with T-mobile, so it shouldn't have had permission to report my root status to T-mobile (and apparently it didn't).

Ahh OK, I guess that could be an important point then! I always disallow sending the diagnostics and such in the my T-Mobile app... Thank god. Hopefully it'll be OK. Thanks for the heads up!
I just jumped from a Note 5 to the V10. I reset the Note 5 using Kies, but knox was still tripped. No issue at the store. The G4 that I jumped from to go to the Note 5 also had been rooted/bootloader unlock, no issue when I did that either.
That's weird. I called a store and asked them this exact question before turning in my G3. She said it didn't matter and they were gonna wipe the phone. It's possible she didn't understand the question, but I turned it in with no issues and haven't received any calls over the few days I've had the V10. I'm on the basis Jump plan too.
No issues trading in my Knox-tripped Note 4 a couples months ago. Maybe just that one store is getting a little wacky with the checking lol

Just curious how you like the V10 vs. the Note 5? I kinda like the V10 hardware, but it seems there will be very little development done on this phone (I'm dying for CM in particular). Doesn't seem as popular as I had hoped it would be with the dev community. I'm considering the Note 5 as a JoD exchange (and thanks to OP for the heads up here), since there seems to be a lot of dev activity for it. Just don't know if I'll be able to deal with that hardware home button. Guess I'm picky.
I can't tell the number of rooted phones I've sent back to Verizon and T-mobile, never a word.

Currently have the Note 5. I wouldn't say there is a lot of dev activity. Then again, I came from a Nexus 6. [emoji2]
I can tell you that this policy was implemented just a few weeks ago. I work for T-Mobile (Corporate Store) and every time you take a phone for Jump, Jump 2 or Jump on demand; the system is asking for a code (it doesn't matter if its android or ios) that the phone displays (usually a 3-4 characters) when you enter a "##" code. Then we enter it on the system and we either get a "thumbs up" or a "denied". I haven't seen a denial at my store, but when I saw this policy, the first thing that I thought was that it was looking for a modified system.
Cool, so no more Jump for me. Looks like a steady stream of Priv's, 950XL's, Moto's, or Nexuses.

What ## code do you enter?
I would imagine that code is more of a quick IMEI/"is the phone stolen" verification rather than checking for root.

No, he was pulling your leg. I turned in my note 4 with twrp and a custom rom in October and I had to do the same check, it's just a service code check to make sure it's the same one you bought from tmo, if it checked for root I would never be able to get a phone again because I flashed that phone so much. I talk to the guys at the store and told them I rooted do they.

Question OTA Updates failing with, "partition superReason SUPER: Build-id does not match with the reference"

**Solved posting update in thread.
Purchased S21+ from Samsung online for Verizon Network, every OTA update since purchase results in it failing to the downloading screen with "
partition super Reason SUPER: Build-id does not match with the reference" I have been able to resurrect it successfully by entering the recovery mode and performing a factory reset. But each OTA update push results in the same issue.
Samsung wants me to either send them the phone or take to a repair location for a software refresh as they called it. Problem is nearest repair center is 3+ hours away from me or 5-7 day turn around on the mailed device with no backup phone.
Has anyone else encountered this and does anyone here have a solution to fix this myself? I am comfortable using Odin and flashing roms but not sure if this will fix it.

Yes, Spoke with their Tier 2 support. Tier 2 discussed the issue and implied a change of information for the phone would fix it. They transferred me to Samsung due to the phone being purchased direct from Samsung.
Ok so the problem seems to have been resolved. Here's what I did to fix it.
Downloaded the current firmware I had before the update from Sammobile.com. Using Odin I installed the firmware I was currently on. I had done this before on the last update that failed. But this time I gave it the user data info and did use the Home CSC in an effort to reset everything.
Phone came back online functioning normally with everything wiped. I connected to WiFi and let the first of 2 updates download then run. Success . First OTA that's been successful on the phone. Then went for update #2. Failed, but rebooted this time and gave me an Error 402. Tried again a little later, same WiFi. It redownloaded the update and success again.
So it seems it needs a very very stable internet connection and the full wipe fixed the build id mismatch.
Also before attempting updates highly recommend having all your 2FA accounts either backed up, a second authenticator on another device or turned off. Its a real PITA to get back into all your accounts when your authenticator app gets wiped unexpectedly.
Hope this helps someone else!

Thank you!!! I was stuck on this screen all day!
I had restored my S22 Ultra, as a last resort to troubleshoot the shut down/reboot issue I, like many others, have been experiencing. When my phone then updated itself afterward, the install failed and I was stuck. I just happened to find this post of yours, while I was researching some info someone at the Geek Squad gave me, and told me to try it when I got home. The print out he gave me was a word for word copy of your solution! It totally worked, and I am back in. Now to see if the shut down/reboot issue recurs..... I suspect it will, I'm thinking it has something to do with my battery, which I can't remove.

Hey did you ever get this screen again? And were OTA updates normal after you flashed?
OTA updates keep failing for me on my S22+, either at 25% causing it to go back to the old firmware with an error message, or getting bricked showing that screen. I've tried to reflash and then update and so far only solution is flashing the update through Odin every time. I have had only 2 successful OTA updates since I got this phone in April

I did not have any further issues with updates failing, and getting this screen again. I DID have to send my phone back to Samsung twice though for repair, because of the constant rebooting issue. They could NOT repair that issue, so I ended up getting a refund for the phone. Due to their p**s poor customer service (more than a month later I'm still trying to get them to return the charger for the phone, that they said I HAD to send back with the phone for testing), I will (very unhappy) be purchasing an iPhone. Never buying Samsung again.

Damn that sucks never heard of them needing the charger as well for tests, that is a bit odd. The reflash seems to have fixed the rebooting issue I had when I first got my S22+ not sure if I should gamble with trying to update again after the last one failed. Might just wait for One UI 5 and do a dirty flash through Odin and if it doesn't give any problems I'll just flash the security updates every so often I guess. Saves me the stress haha.
