Most unhelpful community - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What a totally unhelpful community of phone users the Z5 community is. I have on two occassions now asked this community for help and advice on which the best custom rom etc is to use on my Z5 device and on both occassions i got no reply at all. Its because of this sort of thing that i am so grateful for my XZ2 at least in that community you get help when you ask for it.

Let HTC Know you Support shipped-roms.com

Please speak out on the HTC Forums and let them know what you think about this ongoing struggle. Another user has already started a thread but there are not many responses yet:

Please help to get the word around and give feedback to HTC internally that their community thinks this is a very bad move. Personally, I have been a loyal HTC customer for years but this kind of behavior is making me think twice about what company I buy my next device from.
Not sure if mentioning xda developers in that message is actually beneficial tbh

Thank You Captivate users and DEVs

I received my Captivate as an insurance replacement for my Xperia X10. When I began looking at custom roms and themes I was worried that I would see much of the same petty bickering and flaming that I regularly saw in the X10 thread.
Not so. As a whole, the community in the Cappy threads is MUCH more welcoming and helpful. In one thread yesterday I think there was one user with an issue and five or six others trying to help.
The DEVS actually seem to help each other and share knowledge and files. Over at X10 you would think that some of them had exclusive rights to this open source software.
Thank you again.
Carl
Yeah most people here are pretty great. Have a nice stay here in the Captivate forums.

recognizion by XDA as senior member/ Developer etc

About granting status of recognized Developer to someone and taking it back.
Hey what is this? XDA gives the status of recognized Developer to Dorimanx and took it back second time? Why? what is the error of XDA team please answer?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ima...da-developers.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
you are 100% right
yes my dear i was just a few seconds ago was thinking this same thing you posted whyxda is so famous how can it consider a developer it can consider senior members on his site but not can mention developers xda was started as a facebook group it exceeded then the administrators thought to make money with it i like android authority like this bully site here the condition is like rich and poor where rich are developers and administrators and poors are new comers as you can think that the 1st day in a collage how senios do
just unfair!
dorimanx has on of the best rom/kernel for the htc hd2, we worked hard to get everything fully working just how we wanted and i can really say im desapointed with xda dorimanx schould be a recognized developer!
I tried many ROM's since I became a member in your community and I have to say that Dorimanx's ROM is the best by far when it comes to HTC HD2. He was helpful about everything and just check the thanks meter and the porpularity of his thread. Insane? I know. Nobody deserves more the title of recognized developer than him. Keep up the good work dorimanx.
... congratulations .... congratulations for your very vivid vision .... if Dorimanx does not deserve the title of developer, who else should? It 's a real shame ... or maybe just jealousy ... then do not complain if the best go away ...
Dorimanx deserves recognized Developer status. I repaired my old HD2 becouse of his work. Can we at least get explanation why he lost his status?
bye
Give him his status back! Dorimanx is the only developer whose roms I can trust - fast and working. Sometimes when he does soemthing wrong, he fixes it fast. And his fast support. In other threads I need to wait few days for reply. Here I get it in max 2 hours... If you think he doesn't deserve this status, then you should sit down and think for a while...
Well no idea what they did.
But I think all is said.
Dori did and does one of the best jobs to develop hd2 more.
Posts and thanks meter tell all.
He even came back after giving his HD2 away because we needed his help.
Who does this?
He is recognized as one of the best developer in our opinion.
If xda chiefs cannot see this, they are blind.
If they do not want him ....
Ok dorimanx should tell is where to go.
We will follow.
If you have any question about this please do it privately to any Senior Mod
In this case, there were issues in the Galaxy S 2 forum, pertaining to making unfounded and false allegations against another developer.
At XDA we ask people to be respectful to each other, particularly anyone with a developer title. In this case, going around making false (and very serious) allegations against other developers is NOT acceptable. For this reason it was revoked, although a user subject to this can appeal and it will be dealt with suitably.

I wanted to start out by saying hello all and thanks.

I just got a SGH-T959V 4 days ago, and since then, I rooted, unlocked (carrier locked to T-Mobile of course) so I can use it on my carrier, flashed the sms-T959V-KJ6-v0.1.0-unsigned-update.zip kernel, and just finished flashing VB onto it. All thanks to the wealth of knowledge available here on the xda forums. I've read countless threads, and posts from knowledgeable members and developers regarding any possible problems, forms of recovery from everything from bricks to cache and even EFS/IMEI related issues. I just wanted to take this time to introduce myself to the forums formally, and to thank everyone's efforts in bringing out the potential in not only this device, but all devices included on the forums. I am grateful that we have such a community with so much assistance and feedback available.

I am glad to be here. As someone who has been in IT for a while now, I understand how frustrating it can be to explain the same process over and over. I just wanted to make sure that I was properly educated on the device, the roms, kernels, modems, and troubleshooting. I always prefer to try and figure it out on my own. I like to think I learn more that way . Plus it prevents me from adding unnecessary posts to the forums that bog down important threads in Q&A, Dev, and generally annoy the people who spend countless hours bringing the releases to us.

New to the Forums, long time viewer

I have long loved XDA. When I got my first smart phone, a Samsung Captivate, I was directed to this sight. Thanks to all the community members and their hard work, I was able to learn all the ins and outs of android phones from updating them to the newest Roms and kernels to dealing with any problems that crop up to unbricking my phone when I thought it was a goner.
Now it is my time to say thanks to everyone and contribute what I can, so thank you and I will be giving what helpful feedback I can to all the wonderful developers.
Welcome to XDA. Feel free to check this guide out when you have a little time.
