Went through rockplayer.com and paid via paypal. Downloaded the app, according to the site, it said to hit the "activate" button or word, but I don't have that option under settings.

Got my refund today via paypal.
Just go to rockplayer.com and download the v7+neon on the right hand side. When you install the player, open it up and go to settings and there you will see the activate button.

Not bad for free but, Hardware decoder still can't play AC3 audio from a .mkv file, Video decodes fine !
Software decoder can't keep up although does play AC3 audio !
Hopefully updates in the near future will make this as good as DicePlayer.

So I'm confused.
I've been using MX Player for over half a decade now. Just the one app, it's the only MX Player in my app history.

They deleted their facebook page that's listed in their Play Store page description.

There are two other pages that haven't been validated by Facebook yet.

MX is the best video and music player for Android. This app is better because of its wide range of options
that fine tunes the playback of video and audio files for the best experience.
Pretty clean, familiar facebook page and website. No crazy foreign tongues or new logos, slogans or branding. I'm fairly inclined to believe this is the real deal, but it's not mentioned on the Play Store page.
So, help me out here. Do I need to uninstall MX Player and switch to VLC full time before I'm taken on a wild new ride I didn't sign up for?

I received an email response from the developer. J2 Interactive (Korea) sold MX Player to a company in India. MX Player has been renamed to MXPlay, and is now a form of some India-only Netflix for providing movie streaming subscription services.

Times Internet Limited, India’s largest media house had acquired MX Player (https://techcrunch.com/2018/06/27/times-internet-buys-mx-player-for-140m/) a few months ago. We at MX Player have launched an OTT streaming service for Indian users that will give our users access to over 100,000 hours of great entertainment content across multiple languages and 20 original shows.
For all users outside India, we are still the same video player but better since the acquisition/investment has further strengthened our tech capabilities.

Man this is really sad knowing your mentality thinking all Indians are scammers when almost all the softwares and technology you are using is developed by many Indians out there.
Those scamming companies are actually outsourced to a few Indians but the profit goes to some guy/ company who is located outside India.
