Automatic Driving Mode not working as expected - Google Pixel 3 Questions & Answers

Automatic Driving Mode not working as expected for me. I am trying to have my Pixel 3 go into Driving Mode (Do Not Disturb) ONLY when a specific Bluetooth connection is active (and NOT when driving is detected). I have configured the specific BT device connection under "Automatic driving mode" settings and I have "when driving is detected" disabled, yet driving mode still activates DND when the BT device is NOT connected. I am guessing that motion detection is not really disabled, despite the setting. Is this a known bug and/or does anyone know a work-around? I am running Android 9 build PQ3A.190801.002 on an unlocked Pixel 3 (from Google).

Any update on this?

[Q] wifi disconected while sleep mode

I have a problem with my wifi of samsung tab 2 p3100.. it is disconected when my device goes to sleep.. I need my wifi be connected all the time even in sleep mode.. I have set my wifi setting into always keep wifi on, but it keeps off when sleep mode... anybody can help me?
Hiya!
This is the default behavior of Android, whether it is shown as connected in status line and/or icons or not.
Either you select another ROM (Cyanogen for example, which really deactivate it) or you use a helper app to do this for you: search for "wifi keep alive" in play store...
(I assume you checked the wifi settings under "extended/advanced"?)

[Q] Bluetooth not automatically connecting?

I just switched from a S5 to a S6. One of my favorite things about the S5 was that I had Tasker set up to perform many actions when the phone connected to my car's Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the S6 is not connecting automatically like my S5 did.
It seems like I have to manually open the Bluetooth settings for the connection and manually turn on both Media and Calls... every time I start the car. While searching the internet for a solution, I found an app called Bluetooth Auto Connect. I installed it and turned a bunch of settings on, and I think it might be helping. It seems that I can turn Bluetooth off and then on again on the S6 and then it will connect to the car (2013 Subaru Crosstrek). However, it really bothers me that this is kind of a downgrade where I have lost functionality.
I just realized that I have so many workarounds:
*Force landscape mode = must have 3rd party app Rotation Locker
*Try to prevent music from auto-playing when connected to Bluetooth = must have 3rd party app Media Button Router (and still works inconsistently)
*Try to force screen always on = must have 3rd party app Secure Settings
that list could go on...
Is it possible to fix this completely, so my S6 will fully-connect to the Crosstrek's Bluetooth automatically?
Edit:
This thread seems to be about the same thing, but I don't a see a solution:

The Bluetooth Auto Connect FAQ sounds like it's a Samsung problem.
I started having the same issue with my motox after the 5.1 update. Prior it auto connected every time.

Any way to auto connect bluetooth and bypass 6.0.1 popup notification?

On marshmallow, when I quick toggle on bluetooth, a popup notification appears
"Your device... is currently visible to nearby devices"
Then it lists all my paired devices and I have to click one (regardless of what's in range)
Is there a setting or exposed module to bypass this screen and have bluetooth simply autoconnect to the first device in range?
If my bluetooth is already on, and I enter + turn on my car, bluetooth will connect without this stupid screen.

Bluetooth connection abort in standby

Hi there,
I'm using my old Nexus 5 for navigation. Each time when the phone is going to standby, the bluetooth connection (tethering by another phone) get lost.
Is there a solution to avoid this?
Bluetooth timeout is one of the most common reasons Bluetooth is turned off without warning. By default, after about 10 minutes of being idle, your device will usually go into "standby" mode to conserve power. This turns the screen off and removes certain connections, like Bluetooth.
Is there anybody possibility to change the timeout? I can't find this option in developers options.
Guaranteed not to be found under Developer Options.
Not all devices will let you control when your Bluetooth turns itself off automatically.
Every smartphone or device is different when it comes to setting Bluetooth connections and connectivity preferences. You can usually find instructions on how to alter your Bluetooth online by searching for your phone model.

How to stop Bluetooth Visibility or Discoverability?

I had an unpleasant experience with location tracking that I have described here.
Thinking about it, Bluetooth appears to be one culprit. My Galaxy Watch remains connected to my phone at all times over Bluetooth. So turning OFF the Bluetooth will disconnect the watch from my phone.
These are my current settings:
1. Under Location settings, WiFi Scanning and Bluetooth scanning are both OFF.
2. Nearby Device Scanning is OFF.
3. Ultra-Wideband (UWB) is OFF.
4. NFC is OFF.
5. Location is ON.
Under Android settings, I don't see the option to turn OFF device visibility or discoverability. This results in my phone constantly giving away it's presence to Bluetooth Beacons that are installed by several establishments.
I don't want to turn OFF my phone Bluetooth, but I want to stop it from constantly searching for other devices or appearing on scans from other devices. Once my phone is connected to my watch (or earphones), it should stop scanning for other devices, and also stop being discoverable.
Is this possible?
Same problem here. I don't want to turn Bluetooth off, however I also don't want to show the whole world that my device is in the room. It seems that all options regarding visibility or discoverability are hidden now. :-(

Click to collapse
I think they have been removed, not just hidden. I can't find any activity, including hidden ones, that allows for disabling device visibility.
