Hi,
This problem occurred about a week ago.
When I hold my volume up or down a few seconds to adjust the volume, suddenly the volume bar maxes out or hit the bottom and gets stuck there.
If I try to adjust it on-screen (without the buttons) like when it gets stuck at the maximum volume it jumps to the maximum volume again. (Same thing goes for the opposite).
Now About the power button.
It just doesn't work sometimes. Like it won't turn on my phone or turn it on.
BTW I changed my ROM to AOSP extended for about 2 or 3 weeks ago but this problem just happened as I mentioned before a week ago.
What should I do to fix this?
Thx in advance!
Your buttons are probably broken, go see a technician..

I have encountered some strange issues with Galaxy R during the past few days. The first issue is when I plug in my headphones when the phone is idle (i.e. screen off) the menu key often fails to wake it up. Only the power button wakes it up. Sometimes, it wakes up but after a greater than normal delay This happens only when earbuds are inserted when screen is off.
Secondly, sometimes my touch screen and capacitive buttons loose their sensitivity for a couple of seconds (say about 10 seconds) and then come back to normal. The menu and power button works fine but the touch controls are lost.
Has any of you encountered the same? Please comment. Thank you!
Mine Galaxy R doesn't have any of this. I'm on 2.3.4 and you? I think its a defect. And where you wrote this:

I think that is normal because you cant unlock the phone by using the back or menu button.
I have a weird problem where the power and volume buttons don't work when the screen is locked. I know it is not a hardware issue because I had this problem for a couple days, then the power button started working again perfect the next day and now its back to not working. When the screen is unlocked, the volume keys work perfect and controls volume as it normally would. I downloaded some apps to enable the volume keys to work as an unlock button, but they fail to work.
As a last resort, I was going to flash a new rom to see if it would help, however when I boot into recovery mode, the volume keys don't work and i cant move up and down through the options. In addition, I've noticed that when I do a battery pull and put the battery back in, the phone automatically boots up as if the power button was held down.

Do you have an idea of why the volume buttons aren't working though as an unlock button with apps tho? I also question whether it is a hardware problem because this has happened in the past before and then suddenly the power button works again perfect for months. It is just very annoying for me to sit here and hope for it to start working again.

It's a known issue that when the power button stay stuck the other buttons don't work. It sucks, but that's what it is. Nexus S always had this power button problem and usually you can send it to samsung to get it fixed. Some people have tried to fix it themselves without too much luck...
Hi all!
Today I have noticed a very strange thing.
After 300+ hours of uptime, the volume keys stopped working.
I couldn't turn the ringtone's volume up or down, however I could take a photo with the volume buttons using the camera and I could also take a screenshot of the homescreen, but I couldn't turn the volume up or down.
This also happened a few weeks ago, after about 200+ uptime...
After a reboot, everything works fine!
I am on FULL STOCK 4.4.2!
Is it a software related bug or a hardware?
Has anybody face this issue?
Hi!
I have this bug with my OnePlus One. When I press volume up or down, the usual volume panel doesn't appear and requires a reboot to work again. This happens around two times a day. If I press both up and down buttons, I can turn the phone on vibrating mode and back to normal. Really annoys me to have to reboot phone to change volume level.
Anyone having this bug?

I'm having a similar problem with the sound. It doesn't make the beeping sound when I increase or decrease the volume, so it's difficult to know the volume level unless i'm on a call or open the settings. Also the haptic feedback has stopped working even though it's enabled. Still had the same problem after restarting.
I just bought from ebay an used Photon Q 4g LTE xt897 with sim-mod flashed with CM 12.1 lollipop 5.1.1.
It works fine, but when I left it unattended for some time it shuts off itself. Any suggestion??
for example, i can put it on the desk for some time and it will just power off without any warning..
another example, when i am riding public transportation i put the phone into the pocket, so when i take it
to see what time is or something else it is off. I change power savings from balanced to performance and it
kind of helped a little, but still it shuts off.
When I realize it is turned off, i try to turn it on by pressing the power key and nothing happens. If i press power + volume down nothing
happens as well. If i try power + volume up or power + volume up + volume down key it will prompt me with fast boot loader screen.
If i then press power + volume down it will boots up and works well up to the point where it will turn itself off.
Any suggestions?
I was thinking it could be poor connection between the battery or phone, but it would not be case if the phone is left on the desk...
anyhow thanks in adv.
Sounds like a hardware issue.
Definitely a hardware issue, CM has been quite stable these days.
