SPL 2019-08-05 Needed for phone - Looking for options - Samsung Galaxy S10e Questions & Answers

My employer recently restricted access to Android devices running anything less than SPL 2019-08-05 and since Samsung does not seem to have the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner I'm looking for options.
Is there a way to sideload a security patch?
Is there a custom rom that I can install that won't torch Knox and render my device non-compliant anyway?
Is there a good place to sell my 10e so I can buy a Pixel 3?

1. Getting the patch. If you have the 970U1 or 970F, there is already firmware with the August update released. With the 970F, you might have to get a different country's firmware while the 970U1 seemingly will go to August with a manual update check. If you have a 970U (US carrier model), look into ways to get the U1 firmware loaded (you may need to get sim-unlocked first). None of the carriers are past July.
2. No. Custom roms are only for the 970F and involve rooting and breaking knox.
3. I use swappa. Fees are about $15 at the ~450 USD price point you'd get. You may find the P3 a step down after the S10e

I have 970U1 with the current August patch but it is showing a patch level of August 1, not the Aug 5 mandated by my company's MDM app.

US Galaxy S8+ OTA software update not working / alternative way. SOLVED

What I want to do: I was trying to OTA update my phone software to the latest, but it seems I am behind on many updates. On the AT&T website, I saw that I need the previous updates installed first, in order to get the latest ones. I have to go in order.
Problem: Everytime I try to do a software update from the settings, it says “Current software is up to date.” It’s been saying that for over a year now. I can’t even get the updates from last year.
So is there a way I can flash one of the stock firmware updates from last year on to my phone with Odin and see if it will fix the ‘over the air’ updates? Or can I just skip to the most recent firmware and flash that one.
By the way, I have never done anything like this to my phone before, so I am a bit nervous, but I want to get this problem fixed so I would love if someone helped me out. I did see some articles online about flashing stock firmwares, that’s how I learned about Odin.
If this is doable, can someone please link me to a thorough tutorial on this process? If it isn’t, can you guys recommend another way of getting to the latest 8.0 stock firmware?
My phone right now:
Galaxy S8 plus (AT&T)
Model#: SM-G955U
Android version: 7.0
Baseband version: G955USQS1AQF7
Android security patch level: June 1, 2017
Kernel version: 4.4.16-11449429

If you are using the AT&T S8+ outside of the USA, you will not get any OTA updates due to AT&T update policy. What you want to do is flash the Unlocked firmware and you will be good. Search for carrier switching thread and follow it.

Thanks for responding!
I managed to flash an older firmware from 4 months ago and I was able to OTA update to the recent one. https://forum.xda-developers.com/at...lternative-t3844887/post77673505#post77673505
Software update for s8+
Please where can I get latest software update for Samsung galaxy s8+ model number SM-G955U

Cannot update S8 - (G950U)

I bought my S8 on eBay, AT&T unlocked
However, it's last update was the July 1 2018 Android Security patch level update.
I personally have not updated the phone since I got it
When I try to update it by going into software update, it says that 'current software is up to date' without even searching
I'm not using an ATT sim card nor am I in the US
Can anyone assist?
Is there any program that I can download that can update my phone without root?
I don't want to be a ***** but please use the search next time , here is a hint: Odin!!

Download the latest version of the firmware from sammobile and use ODIN flash it. You should be ok from there.

Question US cellular A12

hi all. I cannot find for the life of me the stock firmware I need. I am on Android 11. Do I need to downgrade to 10 for the OEM unlock option in development
Yes, people report that the US firmware is more tightly vendor-locked. I can only suggest the "go back in time" trick: https://fixwithme.com/samsung-oem-unlock-not-showing-fix
I followed that exactly and when I set it back to to a date prior to August 18th 2018 it always reset itself back to September of 2019 I don't know why but I don't think I'm going to be able to successfully root and unlock the bootloader this phone sucks

Probably they have been acknowledged of this trick and patched it in the latest update. They love to patch every possible backdoor into freedom of use of your own devices you've paid money for. After all, money themselves don't worth much in the today's world. Are you sure you've disabled all the auto-updates?
yeah I've done everything I'm a very experienced phone modifier but this weak phone for whatever reason is difficult. it's not like this phone is anything special

Rooting Options for G970U1 Snapdragon Model

I have decided its time to root my device. How do I go about this for the G970U1 Snapdragon model? All the guides I've found only cover the other CPU model. Is it even possible? I can't find the OEM/Bootloader unlock option in dev options. I probably shouldn't have waited this long...
Hi, for what i know, it depends on your current firmware version installed. Past march 2021 patches should not let you unlock the bootloader and with that gain control of root or change os. I am waiting for someghing to happen too like android 12 and oneui 4
As of 3-7-22 Lapsus$ stole exploitable data from samsung and released it. This data included snapdragon CPU data and most likely includes information on how to unlock the latest u6 bootloader.
I have s10e US g970u1 model on the aug 1st 2021 security update. So U6 bootloader. As far as i understand there is no unlock/root unless you have the u3 bootloader or lower.
We will have to continue to wait for the lapsus$ data to be exploited for root purposes as I think that is the best we will get.
Reading other topics its very confusing, there are a lot of u3 bootloader unlocking and rooting and then the rest on later bootloaders being unsuccessful. U7 bootloader is about to be released for the s10e and will likely patch the code in u6 that was released by Lapsus$. so dont update.

Question F721BXXU1AVIF Google Pay: Your phone isn't certified or doesn't meet security requirements

Do not update to F721BXXU1AVIF fw
Google Pay stops working. "Your phone isn't certified or doesn't meet security requirements"
Waiting for new firmware.
I have US unlocked U1 version, directly purchased from Samsung web site. I update VZW-F721U1UEU1AVIA by Odin. I have no issue after upgrade.
Not sure what is the different between F721BXXU1AVIF, probably vendor specific.
BTW, I am using US Mobile which is VZW MVNO.
VIF is in F721B International model, at the moment only for INS CSC.
VIA on your model F721U1 - US Unlocked model.
I don't think it has nothing to do with the new firmware update. It has to do with Google Pay last update. I had this problem two weeks ago, but was fixed quickly in a later update See if there is an update to your Google Wallet app.
Are you rooted? New firmware can mess with magisk/zygisk modules that hide root. Phone not certified usually means you aren't passing safety net
