[MOD][ROOT] Overclock your screen to 66HZ-72hz-75hz-84HZ in MIUI Android P - Xiaomi Mi CC9 / Mi 9 Lite Themes, Apps, and Mods

Use it at your own risk! (Don't flash it on any Q ROMs)The dtbo.img is extracted from the Chinese version of miui 9.8.15,so you better use version 9.8.15 or later,.Some people use 84hz not smooth,75hz is the best option, but i used 84hz and it's perfect for me! so what are you waiting for? this zip include 66hz-72hz-75hz-84hz
-Download the attached zip, unzip it
-Open TWRP
-Backup your dtbo partition
-Select the corresponding dtboxx.img, choose the dtbo partition, the flash it
-Reboot
You should see the changes immediately after the restart. It's way smoother than before.
If you want to go back to default, restore your dtbo partition backup or flash the dtbo60

72 hz is actually working on the latest mui 12 beta.
But I noticed that there is something less beautiful in the color of the screen.
It's less colorful and more "white" I don't know how to describe.
So I don't recommend to use this mod, u will lose some quality on your screen

The only working very well for me is the 84hz... others lag.
but twrp will freeze whatever the version you chose. better to stay in 60hz or flash 84hz if you want but keep in mind that if you want going to twrp you must go to bootloader and flash your original dtbo.img

What rom you have?
84mhz works on Android q? I have xiaomi.eu 9.11.28

72hz is working perfectly with the latest Pixel Experience Android 10, the highers aren't.
I think you need to disable the screensaver, otherwise the phone turns off once you lock it

No idea, I believe OP extracted the DTBO file from the official ROM and editted it in order to overclock the screen, something tells me it's not hard, but personally I've got no idea how to do it so props to him
Using GSIs means you're using your stock DTBO, so theorically, it should just work

Your display on all treble roms is always on 120 Hz. You can't switch to 60 or 90. So I must add an option on settings like stock rom

raimondomartire, I appreciate your help! I wanted to let you know that for some reason my Bluetooth microphone doesn't work. When I am on a call it only goes through speakers, even if I toggle handset\bluetooth, and the volume doesn't do anything. I had to completely disconnect for it to go through handset. Any thoughts?
Does anybody know if the version with Gapps has the same problem with the GSI version where it'll cause the phone to crash and reboot?
EDIT: It may of been an issue with the the beta Oreo firmware. I updated to the release Oreo firmware and all seems good so far. I had one hard crash during the setup process but that's it.
EDIT 2: The hard crash issue does appear to still be there, but happens far less frequently. It'll crash usually once a day and sometimes it'll crash and get stuck in download mode.
EDIT 3: The crashing issues seems to be the same as before. I've had it crash 7 or 8 times today.

Thankfully NO! Don't know what I usually mess up but this rom is doing fine. I do believe it has something to do with how you install. Try doing everything with fastboot, avoid using twrp. Also power off and reboot will both get you stuck in download mode. I will not do either if I am not by a PC to fix it. I also have my old one + one with me to put my sim in if needed.

Bugs - Camera doesn't work
Can't reboot
Fingerprint doesn't work
It blaster doesn't work
Requirements:-
1) Redmi 5 with Bootloader unlocked and TWRP installed (of course)
2) 2GB Internet data
3) 4GB storage
4) Patience
5) 30-45mins time
What to download;-
1) Mookee Rom
2)Vendor Fix
3)Boot image
4)PR-1 GSI(extract the downloaded zip)
5)Post 1-3 zips
6)Lag fix zip
7)Update Gms apk
8)Magisk (If you want to use root) download from google
Steps to install:-
1) Install TWRP treble recovery (how to install treble recovery on redmi 5)
2) Install Mookee ROM
3) Install vendor.img (select vendor image partition in Install image option)
4)install boot.img(select boot partition in Install image option)
5)Once done then reboot and wait for the ROM to boot. Just complete the default setup and now again reboot to PBRP
6)Wipe data only in advance wipe option.
7)Now Now install the extracted PR-1 GSI and install it and image (select system image partition)
8)Wait for it to install.
9) Now go to mount and Mount vendor
10)Now install post GSI zip in the order of 1-2-3
11) Now install Pr-1 Lagfix.
12) Now Install Magisk (if you want)
13) Now reboot
NOTE:-
In few seconds if you did not pass the MIUI boot logo or you were kicked to recovery or fastboot mode then you did not follow above steps correctly see what you missed now clean everything and start from step 1 again. So if you don’t want this to happen do step by step as mentioned.
14) if you see a Google boot animation then wait for 2 mins or a bit more long.
15) It may boot up and show lockscreen if not it will show a black screen.
Wait for few seconds it may auto reboot if not do force reboot.
16)Repeat step 14 till you see a lockscreen
If you are lucky then you will see the lockscreen in few reboots. If not lucky then it wont pass the black screen even after 30 reboots.
17) if it boots then great
now there are few more steps to make it usable.
Tips after it boots:-
1) Once in boots up immediately go to settings and go to display settings and go to Ambient Display and turn off everything immediately (within 1 minute of boot)
2)Don’t do heavy tasking as the ROM is a bit unstable.
3)Don’t even think of rebooting the ROM.(it will never boot again<will stay on blackscreen> there is some boot problem).
4)While installation don’t install any additional zip files.
Except the mentioned one.
Note:-
Bugs are same as Oreo ROM only few extra bugs like boot problem and volte( In P semi GSI group don’t ask about volte fix they will give instant ban)
If you have followed above steps correctly then you must be tasting the pie.
5) You still won’t be able to install login to google account so install the GMS APK now you can login after installation
6)You will see 3 annoying notification in status bar to fix it.
Go to app settings and search for Pixel setup and disable it.
Now search for Google Play Store in app settings in settings and and click notifications and uncheck the unlisted notification.
Now the ROM is ready to use..
Enjoy….

Thanks for replying, but I'm not 100% sure leaving these bugs. I tried this on my friend's redmi 5. I'm still waiting for my redmi 5's bootloader to be unlocked till September 2. But as soon as I will flash twrp and treble recovery, I will try this ROM and give a review.
As my friend wanted to use his phone normally, he flashed other ROM... The bugs that I mentioned are main bugs. Didn't got enough time to test it. So sorry about it.
I will tell u soon.

GSI images tested with POCO

I've tested 3 GSI images with my phone last weekend, here are the results:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. PixelExperience: https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/treble-pixel-experience-9-0-t3839681
or here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...ce-development/9-0-pixelexperience-p-t3833294
- Everything work well
- Feel faster than stock, no mi nonsense
- Wifi and data work fine
- Sound: OK
- Camera: work
- Bug: NO DARK MODE, it went black, and never come back.
- Ugly: the notification bar is not so compatible with curve screen, the clock and battery percentage almost got cut-off
- I might do something wrong, but my bank app said the phone is rooted. So, I have to flash stock back.
2. LineageOS: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...vice-development/9-0-lineage-os-16-0-t3840801
- There is this "privacy protection" error pop-up all the time
- Booted, run smooth
- Wifi and data work fine
- Sound and camera work.
- LineageOS handles the top and bottom curve better than PixelExp, the notification bar look better
- Some setting features were not working and follow with error, but the phone still work normally after error message
- I really hope the Lineage team get it work really soon. :good:
3. HavocOS: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...-device-development/rom-havoc-os-8-1-t3819050
- Bootloop...end
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Flash TWRP
3. With adb tool, flash system image (I've tried to flash PixelExp system image with TWRP, and got to bootloop, so I've changed to flash with adb command)
4. With TWRP flash decrypt
5. With TWRP wipe cache/dalvick
5. With TWRP format data
6. With TWRP flash decrypt again
Is there any way to flash PixelExperience without root?
PS. When I wrote that the camera work: I mean it works you can take a picture with both front and back cameras, but I didn't compare the picture quality at all.
Just tested Aosp Extended and I'll take the template you posted in the OP so it's easier for you.
AEX post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...device-development/rom-aosp-extended-t3821934
- Rebooted itself a few times during the first boot.
- Felt sluggish during the first minutes, but then everything went smooth as butter.
- Wifi and data work fine
- Sound: OK
- Camera: work, but worse quality than stock
- Bug: NO DARK MODE, it went black, and never come back. In order to fix this you need to reflash the image
- Ugly: the notification bar is not so compatible with curve screen, the clock and battery percentage almost got cut-off. However you can almost fix it changing the display size, not a perfect fix but better than stock.
I'll be going to MIUI stock again, even though I hate it
Thanks for your feedback, you will save us a lot of time!
So, so far, you haven't found any GSI that handle completely properly the notch and curves of our screen?
I dont have any cut off on pixel experience after couple of reboots

Also, is it root? Can we flash without root?

I, personally don't have any preferred template.
It seems as if the AEX is more or less on par with the PixelEx.
Can you manage to flash it without root?
I can live with a bit ugly notification and some minor bug, but I need to use the bank app. So I want to flash it without root.
I tested RR v6.1 GSI and it works with 2 intolerable bugs.
1, 3.5mm headphone not works. Speaker still works when haedphone plug in.
2, since the notch removed by command 'wm size 1080x2074' (result:here), screenshots will add black frame on the top and bottom, and the original contents(1080x2274) are zipped into 1080x1902, so it looks a liitle strange
RR GSI post: gsi-resurrection-remix-o-6-1-0-t3811299
Flashed arm64 a only 0818 version.
- root(magisk 17.1) and xposed v90 beta3 work.
- Wifi and data(CMCC) work
- Sound: both speakers work
- Camera: work
- Bug: headphone not work , screenshot problem
although i hate MIUI , i have to return to it . i need 3.5mm. looking foward to lineage 15.1 or aosp, etc.
I'm not sure why everyone is so eager to test these GSI builds when they don't actually work 100% as stable.
LOS 15.1 development already in progress and I've been watching it, everything is looking good so far ( including camera, dual 4g/volte). Just give the devs sometime for the release.

I could answer that...easily...maybe
I hate MIUI.
I hate ads full rom.
I have high hope for the project treble, it's a good starting point for generic device rom.
I don't know about your development of the lineageos, this is the first post I saw this information.
Also, it's fun to try something, even not perfect, it's still fun to mess around.

Thanks for the great news. And do you mind telling that you ve been watching the development where exactly?
Thanks once again.
Tried 9.0 roms
1 Treblized os: very smooth and stable VOLTE problem.
2 Pixel experience: Smooth but thermal throttling is broken hearts up quite bit.
3 lineage os: doens't look as good as PE and yeah no VOLTE is any GSI 9 or 8.1
4 Arrow os: The best of all. Fast snappy.
5 Havoc os: Bootloop tried everything.
Tried 8.1 roms:
1 Arrow os: The best I must say. PUBG experience is great the touch is really snappy and accurate for some reason.
2 RR official: Has some weird issue maybe sound don't remember.
3RR unofficial: there were 2 unofficial builds one booted fine and the other got Bootloop. Sound was good in unofficial and boot animation is better.
4 Aquarius os: Simple and good.
5 Dot os: well I've tried this GSI on my OP5T it was amazing but in Poco it doesn't feel as stable as others.
After trying all these GSI roms the best stable snappy and thermal friendly ROM was 8.1 and 9 Arrow os.
Like if I helped you.

Need to try it asap.
Just question: can I flash it without root status?

Well I'm not sure because I flashed root on every GSI because my device feels uncomplete without it but I'm sure you won't have any problem with no root and yeah in some GSI roms we have option to download with gapps/su/ or vanilla
Edit:
I needed root access because I used this universal notch fix
Go to terminal give root access and type
"wm overscan 0,90,0,0" this completely pushes the notification panel below the notch and fits perfectly!

2 Questions
1. I didn't intend to flash root, but when I flashed the "Encryption disabler" (that every guides suggest to flash, see attached), it became root itself. Can I not flash it?
2. Do I need to fix the notch in ArrowOS, is it not detect and adjust by itself?

1. The encryption disabler is only for MIUI roms because it encrypts your data on first boot but GSI roms don't encrypt your data so you can skip flashing that after flashing GSI
2. Only Pie roms have the ability to adjust to notch currently this feature is not available in 8.1 roms so it'll look weird.
The notch situation is a bit better in Lineage 9.0.
In every ROM, ir unlock doesn't work (as expected), and volte doesn't work (expected?!).
All cameras work well.

I'm a very beginner so to flash without root:
0. Unlock bootloader
1. Flash recovery TWRP
2. In TWRP flash encryption disabler
3. Wipe (normal wipe?)
4. Reboot to recovery (Do I need this step?)
5. Flash GSI
6. Then reboot to system
Am I right?
Thanks for your answer.
PS.
If I flash the GSI with adb fastboot, do I need to flash the encryption disabler?
(In fastboot, I do the "fastboot flash system GSI.img")

One-time process:
1. UL bootloader.
2. Flash twrp.
3. Format user data for twrp dycript then reboot to recovery again without booting to os.
4. Flash encryption disabler boot once to os.
After this process you don't have to flash the encryption file again and again because it modifies your vendor partition for treble enable. You'll have to flash this file again after flashing any MIUI rom. If you need root in GSI you can flash this file or you can skip.

Android 10 stable build for daily usage

Hey guys I found a build of android 10 and it's stable for WHYRED only bug I found is night mod .
https://sourceforge.net/projects/sh...om-10.0-whyred-OFFICIAL-20190917.zip/download
I am note developer of this rom so don't ask stupid questions XD
Only kernel work on android 10 is pure CAF x11
Flash magisk 19.4 after flash ROM . Otherwise your phone going too boot loop.
Have good days with it ?
There is no stable build yet they all have lots of bugs. If you didnt find bugs it doesn't mean its that there is none and ROM is good. Also is not recommended to download random ROM from you don't know.
I've tried it but for now it's too unstable... i've facing many random reboots.
Better wait to a more stable version..
But it's really a good rom, very fluid and smooth :good:
On the newest, non-Beta version, VoLTE is working. So far no random reboots.
Bruh.
Hardly roms are being out and you want a stable one
Wait for another 2 months for a good one to be out!

Gapps included since it's basically like Pixel Experience. Just flash Rom and if you want root, use latest 19.4 Magisk (Must, since older versions of Magisk doesn't work on this Rom.) Latest Orangefox Recommended.

Buddy, I am on Bootleggers rom, wiped everything except internal storage and flashed the rom file in the link you provided on ORANGE fox recovery. But ending up with bootloops. Tried twice and its the same.
EDIT:
Booted but now it is asking password
The only bug I have found for 2 days of usage is that night mode is not working
I had bootloop with that rom. I'm gonna try installing OP's rom and then updating

The rom is very smooth. Using for about 12 hours and no problems. It's like a pixel with sd card slot.

Yes.
I don't know why i couldn't use the rom.
Sometimes it boots to Google logo screen and then asks password if i give wrong password it asks to delete internal storage. And if i choose that, it will not boot to the format data screen.
So much random behaviours observed. It will boot to Google screen whenever it wants to.
I don't know why. I flashed fox 10 twrp itself.

You have to format data (not just wipe) to delete encryption, this will of course wipe your internal storage, so backup it id needed. Then it should boot.

Working GSI ROMs on Mi Note 10 Lite / toco

As the title says, here's a list of some GSI's i have tested so far... but first for some story.
Bought the phone in summer, it's quite nice but has its own issues like no kernel source BUT since we can unlock the device and actually play around, oh boy it has been fun.
On the course of few hours and many downloads later I have a small list of GSI's that worked!
Every GSI I have mentioned REQUIRE device specific patch(es)!!!
For that you have to root.
----------------------WORKING GSI's-------------------------
BlissROM - It boots and functions quite fast
Cons: no included Gapps
Flashing any system editing patch results in "Phone is booting" homescreen.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/treblerom/files/BLESS/2020.09.21/
3.5 jack, VoLTE, Bluetooth, ComboFix patches are required, flash with Magisk manager
DO NOT USE FixLagSmooth
HavocOS 3.7 and 3.6 - Work and can be daily driven
3.6 requires FixLagSmooth patch
MUST root and apply all linked patches (don't use FixLagSmooth on 3.7, you can but no need)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi...rom-how-to-install-android-10-gsi-mi-t4126223
AOSP Android 10 based - Also does work and requires patching
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi...rom-how-to-install-android-10-gsi-mi-t4126223
HydrogenOS Android 10 - Works
Has few bugs
No Google services
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/gsi/HydrogenOS/
----------------------COMMUNITY REPORTED GSI's-------------------------
Android 11 GSI - Reported to be functional by HumptyPotato47, thanks mate!
No Gapps as of now NikGapps exist for Android 11, search XDA for it!
Requires more testing...
https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/releases/tag/v300.f
----------------------MAYBE WORKING GSI's-------------------------
OxygenOS 10 GSI - Seems to work.. sorta
First boot after exiting fastboot causes the phone to reboot
Second boot will loop
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/gsi/OxygenOS/
----------------------NON FUNCTIONAL GSI's-------------------------
You tell me
...I did find a very nice list of GSI ROMs to try out more, here's the link:
https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/Generic-System-Image-(GSI)-list
----------------------FLASHING GSI-------------------------
If you test one then don't hesitate with replying which one, about the experience, bugs and how you installed it.
My method of installing was this:
1. Make sure to have the new adb commandline that supports fastbootd mode
2. Drop the GSI .img file in /adb directory for ease
3. Make sure you're running MIUI with unlocked bootloader and USB debugging enabled
3.5 MAKE SURE you get a GSI ROM with Gapps as existing TWRP isn't fully functional
4. GSI you should have must be AB partition!!!
Once all set then follow the next commands
>adb reboot bootloader
>fastboot -w
>fastboot reboot fastboot
>fastboot erase system
>fastboot flash system "GSI-ROM-name-without-quotes".img
>fastboot reboot bootloader
>fastboot reboot
----------------------SETTING UP GSI-------------------------
Once all that is complete it should boot, if not then that specific GSI does not work.
Also a thing worth mentioning! Whenever I boot this phone to fastbootd Windows keeps forgetting what driver it was which requires
few extra clicks in device manager to set it up for fastbootd use. Including an image with simple to follow instructions if you have the same issue.
>fastboot boot twrp.img
Once in TWRP you should be able to access internal storage with your computer, drag Magisk.zip over and flash. Don't forget to wipe cache!
If it boots normally then root was successful, now apply the linked patch and reboot once again. Since we are playing with GSI:
Head to Settings
Find Phh Treble Settings
Misc features
Check Disable audio effect. -- DISABLE IT AFTER PATCHING!!!
IMPORTANT!!! I only tested Havoc and Bliss for a long period, IF one of my mentioned GSI's or others require more patches then I have linked headphone jack and Bluetooth audio patches too.
Combo fix should do the trick thought so your mileage may vary.
----------------------HELP US-------------------------
IF you find more working GSI's then tell us and I will make sure to add them to the main post so it won't get clogged under other comments!
Update on 05.10.2020 GMT+3
Bliss ROM GSI
As only a day or two have passed I already encountered few issues.
> You cannot remove screenshot sounds, even when fully muted
> Data drain is something interesting I've noticed, consumption compared to MIUI is higher.
> When using the gesture navigation it is a bit buggy when using quick side swipe for multitasking.
Positive notes!
> It is stupid fast
> Battery life is good
> GCam is amazing
> 99% of the customization options work perfectly
> Fast charging modes and such work perfectly
Neutral stuff...
> No FOD, thanks for closed source
> whenever you take a picture or a screenshot and have Blutetooth audio connected, it pauses and plays out loud via speaker. No music leaks out

Havoc OS and Bliss ROM are both quite stable, albeit with Bliss you don't get Gapps which is a huge bummer to most users.
Personally I just installed MicroG services and use Aurora store with anonymous "account".
When I tried to flash Gapps with TWRP I ended up soft bricking ROM so it was required to restore stock and try again. Of course there's no need if you can still use fastbootd.

FOD is not working as the driver sources are not public, reverse engineering is not possible too afaik. Everything else works.
Should i send this phone back to Amazon?
Seriously, last night i bought it, thinking about to install some custom rom, but if there are no developers caring of it, i might returb the phone to the seller...
IMO MIUI EU is better then GSI roms. Everything works. Got rid of most chinese crap. You can use Magisk.
Have nice features (MIUI in general). The only thing i dont like -mine turns on WIFI byitself dotn know how it happens... but it happens when i sleep. china collecting logs?

Literally the main reason I made this post is to help others who are interested to use GSI ROM's on their devices. I do agree that MIUI has some decent features and I did use Xiaomu.eu before but it was so buggy. In the end I love customizing the device however I like it so MIUI is just not for me. Either way I might try to negotiate with Amazon to get a refund as touch and Bluetooth problems still persist. Fun fact, on Bliss the edge detection is pretty good and not as aggressive or straight out bad.

Actually there are plenty of people ready to build ROMs for Toco (Mi Note 10 Lite) and Tucana (Mi Note 10) but there just isn't any kernel source available. Making things worse is the cancelled release of Toco in India and we know that they are one of the biggest Android ROM builders next to Russians. No one there is gonna import a device like this because better phones for money exist. If you don't like it then yeah I recommend returning otherwise give GSI a try for now and see what happens.
You won't lose warranty as there is no E-fuse like on Samsung phones so locking bootloader and flashing back to stock is enough.
Is anyone try oos gsi ?

The mentioned Mi Note 10 Lite for India was supposed to be called Mi 10i or something like that. It quickly disappeared and is not happening.
Of course I might be wrong by this date but looking for now there is no 10i, only speculation videos and threads.
Mi Note 10 Lite for India would've been code named "tocoin", same hardware and everything else so just a rebadge in old Xiaomi fashion...

Hello, I am currently using Xiaomi.eu based on MIUI 12 and I would like to know how to flash HAVOC OS GSI. Should I flash back to Global Rom then flash the GSI as indicated? Answer is greatly appreciated.
