This has so far happened to me twice this week. My phone has reset itself and on turning back on, the settings are reset, and the home and recent app gestures don't work. No matter what I do, I can't get them back without a factory reset. Has anyone else seen this behavior? I'm on the 8gb international version running 9.5.11, Smurf Kernel, and XXX, no abnormal settings. Could this be a hardware issue? The second week I had this phone, it reset itself completely one night, erasing all my apps, everything, and I didn't have it rooted or anything back then. Does anyone have similar experiences or advice?

My sister has a SkyRocket that is not rooted. It has the factory rom. It has been working great but now all of a sudden it has started doing strange things. Half of the time when she calls it hangs up on the first or second ring. The screen won't respond to touches. Apps running in the backgroud will flash to the foreground and then back. Any ideas what is going on? She has not installed anything recently that could be causing this. I am going to try a factory reset and see what happens.
good call, try the reset and wipe the caches, if its still wonky, backup both sdcards to ur comp and format them and repeat reset and wiping, if not resolved it could be a hw issue
I've recently been having all apps on my phone close frequently. No error messages or anything, just close back to the home app (which happens to be repopulating widgets and such suggesting that it was closed too). For the life of me I can't figure out what is wrong. Once I see it happens I know my phone is unusable except for the basics until I reset it. At first it was mildly annoying, but it has been happening faster and faster after each reset. First a reset grabbed me a few days, now only about 4 hours. I tried a factory reset but it was only mildly better. Finally in desperation I tried using mattlgroff's "DROID RAZR HD Utility" to reflash stock, but that only bought me a week and a half.
Does anyone know what might have caused this? The only significant mod I made to my phone was rooting it while it was new to use Titanium, then I unrooted it and it was fine for several months after. I can't think of anything I had done outside my normal use before it started. I tried looking at logcat but I wasn't very good at sorting though it. Found the lines stating the apps were closed/services were restarting, but nothing else looked abnormal to me.
Sounds like a hardware issue.
Try a safe boot
Power up
At the appearance of the bootlogo, big m or warning, press & hold the vol down all the way home.
Hi folks,
I am having problems with my S6 G920-F.
Whenever I open Google Maps, the phone starts to lag, freeze and eventually it needs to be rebooted by hard reset. Also the font just goes nuts and characters are gone missing ht*p://s12.postimg.org/m5c6mejwd/Screenshot_2015_11_20_21_25_52.png
I was running on Android 5.0.2, then recently upgraded to 5.1.1 but no improvements so far. Did a factory reset a couple of times, booted in safe mode, but the problem keeps on appearing.
Any ideas what else to try, or no choice and send it to customer service?
Thank you very much.

Did you do a factory reset from Recovery Mode? If not, do so.
yes I did the factory reset from recovery mode, and the same error kept on appearing...
The same problem here
On 5.1.1 with a S6 from Rogers in Canada, stock everything, unrooted
Recently phone has been freezing randomly then restarting on its own. Previously would happen just a couple times a week, but recently has been happening, more, today it happened 3 times in one hour.
Doesn't seem to be a specific app that causes this, the crashing also happened when I booted into safemode.
I have done a factory reset, reflashed the stock FW via Odin, and cleared the cache. None of this has helped. Anyone else experiencing this as well or know how to fix it?
I'm out of ideas and about to send it off to Samsung to get it fixed
same goes to me. coming from rooted rom. sometimes can't even go into recovery. it will crashed randomly. managed to install stock rom. but still got a lot of crash.
I find the samsung gear vr app causes lots of ****.
You can't even review it because it's not in the google store they just push it to the device.
Half the time the install reboots and screen is reset to 1028*768 ish. and about 32 colors. I have to reboot in disgust. Seems to put it back.
Sometimes I turn it on and It's a black screen with a small white x in the corner like an ad. But you can't hit the x or back out of the app or use the menu button to clear the app or use the home button to goto the home screen.
I know it's samsung/oculus **** because it says it out loud "plug in your samsung vr device......"
I've taken to clearing the dalvik and even the cache even though I have to reinstall all the apps.
Hello everyone.
I bought my Ulefone Power 3 in July 2019. It has been working fine for a year, then something happened and I had to do factory reset, which cured the problem for another year.
How a few days back, after the night, I woke up and the phone has lost some of the settings (fingerprint unlock, ring tone/volume, screen brightness misadjusted, font size, etc).
I restored everything back in settings expecting everything will be fine, however, the device started rebooting/crashing randomly, for example, when typing in Whatsapp, entering Settings in system menu, etc. The reboot seems to be "soft" (quick) one. The uptime in the phone's about section does not reset but the GUI gets reloaded, etc...
I booted it in resque mode and did clear the cache partition, however, it did not help the issue.
Question:
is it possible to try to upgrade this phone's firmware to something else in order to try to fix the issue before spending money on a new phone?
Or any other tips to try to troubleshoot it?
Currently phone is running this: GQ3056MF1 HCS986A Ulefore_V40
Thank you...
