Hi,
My phone getting freeze and dead after few sec while using if location is turned on. If location mode is off, its fine without any problem.
Anyone face the same issue? and any idea how to fix it? By the way I'm using STOCK OOS and never root.

I have the most recent version of MIUI for Infuse. I have correctly flashed it and everything works great. However recently Airplane mode can not be turned off. No matter what I try the only way to get it to turn off is by reboot, and if I leave it in sleep mode airplane mode turns on and stays that way. Is there a fix for this?
Yeah same here. Can not figure out what to do. I have tried several available modems and they all seem to do it. I have tried UCKD5, UCKE3, UCKJ1, UCKJ2, UCKJ4 and UXKG3 and they all seem to have the same problem. HELP
Any solution to this? Thanks!
i have the same issue. it seems that the toggle doesnt really work through the settings. restarting the phone as of now is the only way to turn it off. unfortunately for me sometimes its on for a long period of time before i noticed that its on, and i end up missing calls/texts
I'm wondering if anyone else is has this problem. Every time I plug in my phone, the USB debugging option turns on. I turn it off in developer settings, but it turns back on as soon as I plug it in.
Also, I change my screen timeout to 1 minute but when I restart the phone, it turns back to 30 seconds. I already tried the fix permissions option in Recovery and it didn't work. I'm using the Viper ROM if that helps.
Also, I always turn Auto Sync "on" under settings but it turns itself back off.
Anyone else with the same problem?
Anyone?
There's a known bug with some settings not sticking on reboot if I recall but what your describing does not seem to be this bug. Typically when weird little issues like this are happening, step one is to redownload and check md5 wipe everything and do a fresh flash. Obviously this would be a big issue, well documented for a ROM as popular as Viper XL so I would say no, other people are not experiencing this issue.
Thanks anyway. I'll Google it some more and see if I find something
If I turn off wifi, after a few seconds to a few minutes it just turns itself on again.
I am using stock ROM 4.4.4, rooted. I thought it might have something to do with Xposed but I removed that and the problem persisted.
Any ideas how to fix this?
its probably one of your apps.
Hi,
I just got this s7 for 3 days and i have this problem where the screen wont turn on but the phone still is active.
A hard boot will fix it but its only a temp fix because i had this problem 4 times now in 3 days.
I didn't root it nor did i install any weird apps outside the google play store, i disabled a couple of bloat ware apps like all microsoft apps and a few google apps like hangouts and gmail.
I did some research and found out that more people have this problem but all the fixes they got it to wipe the cache but the phone still has the problem after that so i would like to know if more people on xda have this problem and i would like to know what they did to their phone so i can see if we have anything in common to pin point the problem.
See if the setting for preventing the phone to turn on in your pocket is enabled. If so, try disabling it and see if that works. It may be a problem with the proximity sensor if it's a hardware issue.
Thanks for the reply and i have that setting indeed turned on! So ill switch if off right now and lets hope this will fix it!
Seems like turning off that feature didn't work
If you have an SD remove it or format it. I had this on kitkat because of too many files in internal memory
Think i found the problem because i think its fixed. While restoring my old settings like wifi etc from my ggole account caused this problem and now that i skipped this part in the setup the phone seems to be working now for 2 days perfectly but thanks for the reply and help.
Woot, I have fixed the problem!!!!! Its the App Power Saving Feature that causes this!!! I had some app set to "always" and when i used any of these app and then put the phone in standby then it would lock up every now and then. Now that i have turned off this setting the phone runs steady for a week!

Is your phone still working fine without blackscreens?
I've got the same issue (sometimes 4 times in an hour, sometimes it doesn't happen for 2 days..!!).
I've tried fixing by doing a factory reset and turning app power saving mode off.
Unfortunately this did not fix the problem. Yesterday I got an unresponsive blackscreen again :crying:
Any ideas what could fix the problem?
(Ignore my signature, I'm writing about the S7, not the S6)

Yea, mine is working like it should now for 3 weeks.
Today I've got september security update and phone has been working fine for most of the day and then suddenly it started freezing on rotation. Either when it goes fullscreen or I rotate it, the screen freezes, can't turn off screen and either I hard restart or it does it itself after a minute.
I haven't updated or installed anything new besides the security update recently.
I wiped cache and when in safe mode it doesn't freeze, so I assume it's an app problem but is there any way to narrow down to which one it can be? In safe mode most are disabled and when I turn phone on all should be off and it still happens so I'm not sure how to diagnose this besides randomly uninstalling app by app.

Did anyone find a fix for this? Just started happening to my Galaxy s8+ today also after an "1 January 2020" security update.

Temporary fix: when you need full screen, toggle on 'disable HW overlays' in developer options.
This will be resetted each reboot, so you need to enable it when you need manually.
