Put all specs bs aside, buttom line:
Less screen .
Les battery.
Optic zoom *2 only....
No headphone jack.
No dedicated second stereo speaker (earpiece).
Price-LOL...
Your opinion?
Having just purchased the Mate 20 X 5G I can honestly say it's a stunning device, and that I really do love the 7.2" Display.
As you will be aware the 5G variant doesn't have a headphone jack (this doesn't concern me as all my headphones are Bluetooth).
I have also Pre-ordered the Note 10+ 5G I don't think it's inferior, intact it's the only device that incorporates the pen and it's actually a fully functional tool (yes we have the M-Pen) but it's not quite the same.
I never dismiss a product but I do agree that for the Note line it ought to have been better and for me personally that would have just taken two things (on top of what was announced) those are a 90hz Display & 5000mah battery. This didn't happen and was a disappointment to which I think Samsung will regret.
However as I don't own a Samsung currently to have both the Mate 20 X 5G & The note 10+ 5G I'm in a very happy position. Two powerhouses that perform very differently but each has their own strengths and weaknesses.
I own a EVR-L29 (Mate 20 regular version)
I was an avid user of the Note line (as shown in my signature), and i always had issues with battery life not lasting long enough. I use it a lot during my daily commute & work (Spotify, 3D Gaming, Google Maps, BT headphones & Smartwatch, Note-Taking, Youtube & a lot of photo/video taking). I always had to charge intermittently whenever i could.
After switching to the Mate 20 X, I never had to charge at any point throughout the day/carry a power bank. It just lasted me until night despite my power use. The big screen was a joy to look at and game with.
The only thing i missed from the Note was the S-Pen. Sure the Mate 20 X has the Mpen but it feels hard & slippery and counterintuitive to use. I also wish the Note 10+ had a bigger battery but understand the space constraints when factoring the space needed for the SPen.
Having said that, like @Duncan1982 I have pre-ordered the Note 10+ (non-5G) and will use both devices. Lets see how the new Note fares.
Wouldn't trade mine M20X(4G) for any sammy device.
5000mah 7.2 inch amazing cameras and performance and awesome speakers
Wait for mate30.

I noticed the slight bulge in my regular front pocket initially, but after awhile it felt normal
I'm interested in what the screen size difference is side by side. 6.8 vs 7.2, but the note plus has a larger screen to body ratio. Has anyone held both yet? One in each hand. Interested in how big of a difference the screen size actually is.
Let's face it, the note 10 For day to day usage it will never be as good as mate 20 x in the area that matters the most, BATTERY LIFE. Galaxy Note series always had it's own magic that called the Spen but to be honest, better camera and longer battery life is all that matters these days since even the 300$ phones have the speed and good displays nowadays
The longer I have this phone, the more valuable it is to me. You see the new phones coming out, with mediocre upgrades and a hefty price tag.
Note 10 Plus is a great phone, no denying that but in the UK it will cost £1000 for the 4g version. In the UK you can buy the Mate 20X and get a Huawei Watch GT for £499.
Stellat battery life, fantastic screen, the Dolby Atmos stereo audio is amazing, HDR display... And fantastic camera for me just keeps me with the Mate 20 X. If course you have the Pen with the Note 10 Plus which is no gimmick.
Also I prefer a flat screen, the curved screen doesn't do it for me... Horses for courses
I answered my own question today, I held the 10 plus and my mate 20x. I was surprised how small the note plus felt at 6.8 compared to 7.2. I had pre-ordered one just in case, but I think I'm going to cancel it. The screen is lovely no question. But I don't want to go backwards in size. I hope a Mate 30x is in the future and the rumors aren't true that they're going to kill the line.

Yup that's what I saw in person when I compared them. Really no comparison screen wise, now to see if we get lucky and a Mate30x is in our future, I'd love to have wireless charging.
Tested the N10 today in the store, the plus version.
It's SMALL compared to the 20 X, awesome screen, ok speakers but the rest is same as s10.
M20 X FTW
I'm very tempted by the 20 X since it's day one (finally a phablet close to my old Xperia Z Ultra), however I'm not sure whether EMUI would be to my liking. It seems that the MPen isn't really as useful as an S-PEN... Additionally Samsung DeX and Linux on Dex are really good. I guess Easy projection is close to DeX, albeit less polished. But there's nothing like Linux on Dex on Huawei's side.
Still can't decide (of course there is the 500 euro price difference).

EMUI 10 inspire by OneUI, I think. It optimized for one hand operation plus M20X battery life is the beast so likely I want to keep M20X over jump Note10+. For me Note10+ advantages are smaller footprint ( still big screen ) and SPen. Cons: M20X much better in term off P/P.

There is no Mate 30x coming due to Mate x (folding phone) and Mate 20x 5g.
Note 10+ is easier to see in sunlight compared to Mate 20x.
Note 10+ has better camera quality (not by much however)
Mate 20x is louder and clearer sound.
Note 10+ pen is simply far superior & incredible.
I still own a Mate 20 x. No intentions of leaving. It is my daily.
My problem with Samsung is that they use punch holes and curved screens. I really don't like/want that.

i feel your pain lol, am an architect and i hate those very useless curved displays , i have no idea why they do it. the size of that mate 20x is just what the note line should be , i dont know of the screen quality currently on the mate 20x but 2k would be much better for sure and add an spen to it and thats the most perfect phone, and tbh even without the spen i think its the most perfect phone size wise, speakers wise etc

Should I buy the mate 9 nowadays (with the 16:9 aspect ratio) or wait for the bezeless mate 10 (with the 18:9 ratio)? I'm not sure which one will be more comfortable to hold and use with one hand (most of the time) i.e. I'm looking for the most compact of the two for easy handling and less overall weight.
& I'm not really sure how come the mate 10 will be taller than Mate 9 if:
The bezeless design of the Mate 10 should optimize the real estate of the current Mate 9 to a new level
& the surface area of the Mate 10 is going to be smaller than that of the Mate 9?
Regards
better wait for mate 10.... mate 9 is too big and too heavy for most hands.... I constantly have pain in my wirst
Just wait for the mate 11, will be awesome
But seriously I think that this year phone manufacturers really stepping up their game compared to last year. I would probably wait what Google and Samsung and Huawei have coming up

seriously I'm between Mate 9 & Mate 10 only. I may not live up till Mate 18 is released!!. I'm deciding between the current model or waiting for the newer one if it is really going to be more hand friendly - because of the bezeless desgin - but that 18:9 aspect ratio of the newer coming model kinda worries me because it 'll make the phone taller than the current model.
If I were you, I would buy mate 9.
You can buy Mate 9 and use it till 2017 end, then sell or stay.
Mate 9 was released in 2016 November. I suppose, Mate 10 will be released in the end of 2017.
buy a galaxy s8+
Wait for M10 if you can, i have the Mate 9 and would buy it again, but knowing that M10 soon will come out, i wonder what kind of improvements it will bring.
I'm so happy with my Mate 9 that I'll change only when it breaks. :victory:
I'm with a V20 and looking for to drop it to a Mate 9.
Do you know when Mate 10 come out? November?

I agree always better to wait for mate 10 if you can afford the time. But size is not the reason. This phone is perfect size I couldn't imagine smaller. If you don't want a big phone there are plenty of other options.
Maybe I can't afford the time. LOL
There's a long time until November/December.

I just couldn't wait either and I bought a Mate 9 Pro in the meantime until November/December when the Mate 10 and the Pixel phones are out.
I'm so happy with the device, same specifications, but with Super AMOLED QHD display and better speakers, one of the reasons I dropped the Mate 9 a few months ago.
I also had the P10 Plus, but it was just garbage and I don't recommend to buy it at all.

Actually I wasn't expecting a big change from regular Mate 9, but even when they have the same position, is day and night difference between them. The quality and volume is far way better and is the only phone so far that give me this real stereo sound, and I'm really used to it because my last 2 phones were with front facing speakers (Axon 7 and Idol 4S), so I can notice the difference pretty quick.
I got the regular Mate 9 last January, but after a couple of weeks I dropped it because screen was "only" FHD, the speakers were not that good and the one in the earpiece was with almost no sound at all. I came back to Axon 7 and a month ago I got a P10 Plus wishing that they fixed this, but was even worse, with no sound until I reached about 70% volume, and the phone itself is just pure trash, with a lot of heating and battery draining problems. My bet is that Huawei messed up EMUI 5.1 in the P10 Plus, but still was a device that had everything I needed if it could work properly.
After some days of searching for a new phone, I found that there was a Mate 9 Pro version, that is almost identical to P10 Plus, and I decided to give a shot and MAAAAAAN!!!, wonderful screen, really fast device, even faster than regular Mate 9, really good speakers and excellent audio through jack. I never put the speakers at more than 40% and they sound pretty good, and for audio jack, the same because even at half, is already painful for my ears; besides I have really good isolation with the earbuds I'm using. I carry a Sony XBA-H1, that by no means are the best, but neither are cheap and the response and dynamic range is awesome.
There are so many differences between the Mate 9 and the Pro version, and I wonder why no one talks about them, is much more than 6GB RAM, QHD screen and 5.5" display size. For example, the capacitive buttons are really nice and they hide along the metal body. Same with the LED, that in this case is multicolor, and when some notification comes, it remembers me my multi color Razer mouse, because it starts to light with a lot of colors. This AMOLED screen is so fast and responsive, and this Pro version comes with different options in EMUI as well. The curvy edge is a nice touch, because is not uncomfortable to use, like those Galaxy Edge versions, and it adds a touch of elegance to the phone.
Not everything is good, and so far the only downside is battery life, which is not as good as in the Mate 9, even when they have the same battery. With regular Mate 9 I could easily do 7-8 hrs SOT, while in this device I'm usually around 6hrs, but is more than enough for me and I'm positive it will improve when we get Android O and EMUI 6.0 which is already on the works.
In conclusion, I would recommend to buy the Pro version if you can afford it, because the experience it offers is totally different and really premium, and even when is kind of unknown model, many reviews still call it the best Android phone you can get, but of course, with a high price tag.
I am also on the fence about that gimmicky 2:1 aspect ratio. It is really impractical and most media out there is 16:9 which uses the whole screen instead of having black bars on the sides, which is quite annoying and unnecessary. I sure wish they would have stuck with 16:9 instead.

It is simply not time to switch to 18:9 aspect ratio yet.
Next year all apps and most media will be ready for the new format.

On some levels Id say OP7 pro is better for sure. Faster internal storage, faster overall user experience, faster updates, no camera hole, 90 hz screen. Its definitely cheaper as well if that matters
But the cameras (front and rear) won't match the S10, no external storage, only 256gb of internal storage compared to 512 and 2tb on S10. No wireless charging, no IP rating (bucket of water hardly counts) lol.
It will certainly not destroy the S10 that's for sure.
Samsung wins in the camera department by far
Now it depends what do you prefer

Yes I agree, The camera part of the Oneplus is a bit weak compare to the S10 series.
TL;DR: Go for OnePlus 7 Pro. Easy choice.
Personally I think Samsung's flagship devices are a waste of money. Before you read on! I'm not fully updated on all of what I'm going to complain about, so it might've changed!
To me, Samsung has nothing unique to offer, yet their devices are almost as expensive as an iPhone. Which in my opinion is insane. Samsung offers a ****ty version of Android that looks **** (think it actually looks better now than it did before), full of bloat; it doesn't even let you uninstall Instagram. Personally I'm not a huge fan of their self-made apps either. In my opinion, it would be better to spend that money on an iPhone, which at least offers something unique (being iOS).
When it comes to OnePlus. They seem to have a great vision when it comes to how they do things. One of the things I really like with them, is that you're allowed to root the phone, and you won't void warranty. Though, to lots of people, rooting isn't very major. However, their version of Android is very nice. It is close to stock Android, has close to no bloat. The bloat that it has, you can uninstall (with root). Their hardware is very nice, and now more than ever with their new OnePlus 7 Pro (OP7P). Then the price you pay is less than any other phone with same specs.
When it comes to camera, there might be better options. However, OP7P has a very decent camera, and when someone ports the Pixel camera app to work on OP7(P), it will (probably) improve the camera greatly.
I own both the 7 Pro and the S10+
This is coming from someone who hasn't owned a Samsung since the Note 4 and has owned almost every OnePlus device.
While the 7 Pro is a really good phone the S10+ is just better. The only things better on the 7 Pro is the screen scrolling, OnePlus gestures (best Android gestures hands down), UFS 3.0 storage, and screen off gestures.
The fingerprint reader is faster on the 7 Pro but the fingerprint reader on S10+ works when your fingers are wet, and you don't need to wake the screen to use it.
I do like the size of the 7 Pro (I like bigger phones) but in-hand the S10+ feels better, 7 Pro is thicker than the S10+.
Samsung's new One UI is nothing like the old Touchwiz. The S10+ has so many customization option it's not even funny. I have found no reason to want to root the S10+ (coming from someone who has rooted every single phone they have owned).
7 Pro camera is ok but the camera on the S10+ is good if not great (not Pixel great).
I had the s10 and returned it. The finger print sensor on it was not working consistently. Samsung has too much bloatware for me and didn't see a major difference from my pixel 2 xl. Only good thing about Samsung is Samsung pay. Op 7 so far I'm loving it. It depends on what you are looking for. I don't really care for camera and I'm not worried about getting some water on the phone. Also i don't use wireless charging. The specs on op7 are ridiculous for the price. Plus op7 will get the latest updates including Q faster than Samsung phones.
I have a one question.which the op7 display quality compare the s10+?

OP7 is water proof though, they just didn't care to pay for the IP-certification.
I have the ceramic 10+ it is lovely but I will say that the 7 pro looks terrific, Oxygen OS and the fast updates are tempting and I am not expecting Q anywhere near the 10+ until 2020. The camera edge is probably still just with the 10+ and the expandable storage too but other than that the 7 pro is a compelling package for sure, well almost…..
….For me though an always on display and wireless charging are important features, I could probably do without wireless charging but with them marketing it as a pro model it really should have been included IMO. As for the always on display with so many OEMs offering this now that there is no reason for me to consider OP until they do too. I get that some people do not rate this feature but me it has fast become a must-have.

How does the 10+ camera compare to your Pixel 2 XL? I've just come from a Pixel 2 XL to the 7 Pro and the difference is huge, there is a lot of hope riding on GCam turning this camera around - i've got a 15 day window to return the 7 Pro and it will be going back if there isn't progress on the camera front (and then possibly going the S10+ route if the camera is any better).

Well the main sensor is pretty good on the 7 pro, we don't know about the other sensors (wide, tele) though. It might get better in the future, because the main sensor is pretty good and the weakest part seems to be the software for now. Also, you can't film with the wide angle lens on the 7 pro, and we don't know if that will be possible in the future. That's the reason why I will wait 1 more month until I decide which phone I will buy. The worst case: I have to wait until Google releases their pixel 4 because I can't stand the design of the pixel 3 XL.
I have the S10+ and have a OP7 in the box right now, probably switching over.
S10+ still lags if not rebooted every couple of days for me.
Exynos camera is meh and so is standby time.
I like the S10 but it didn't live up to the hype, want a phone I don't have to baby
Snapdragon is a different story from what I've read
The OS and notchless screen are huge selling points for me.
Won't really miss wireless charging too much, don't use the SD slot as I have 2 Sims.
Agree, being shortchanged with the exynos has left a sour taste this year.
I'm just not sure I could lose an AOD, especially as the is no led. I tried before and it bugged the hell out of me. I am though still very tempted!

I caved and purchased the OP 7pro so now have both and 2 weeks in and I am conflicted on the OP7 vs the S10+.
The OP is a beast and I have found it more of a burden to carry and use than my S10+, it also makes an iPhone Xs max look small! I have also missed the always on display, wireless charging a little but no big deal. I’d also say that outside the extra brightness of the Samsung makes it easier to see, again no biggy. I prefer pretty much everything else about the OP7 Pro though and one thing I have noticed (and have posted this over on the S10 forum) is how much better the radio performance is on the OP7, I think this may be more down to the S10+ being bad than the OP7 being really good but at my work for example the S10 clings to 1 bar of 4G and often drops to 3G whereas the OP7 is rock solid on 3 or 4 bars of 4G all day. I have also installed Gcam and it works really well.
I won’t comment too much on the FPS, both work ok with the OP being quicker and the S10 being maybe more convenient on account of not having to wake the screen first. I do though still prefer a rear mounted sensor like the Pixel which is IMO just a better, quicker and easier option.
Re the AOD I read that OP have said they are working on this but are still citing battery concerns, given how good and polished oxygen OS is I just do not get why OnePlus are finding it so hard to provide a proper always on display? Lots of other OEM’s have managed it, LG even managed it on an LCD screen. Anyway fingers crossed they are at least on the case now.
So overall it is a seriously good device, I do though wish it was just not quite so big.

Why does it have to be unique, I don't care about that? I care about it being a good phone, a well rounded one at that. It's hard to pack a lot of features into a cheaper phone, and often results in some corner cutting and that's what happened. The pop up camera is a DISASTER and all over China one plus has had to offer an apology and a slightly extended warranty, I'd never trust that and it collects a whole lot of dust around the top of the camera port when sitting in your pocket and such, regardless of the waterproof red ring on the top.
One UI is great, I bought the s10+ and never received Instagram, and not much bloatware at all, oneUI has almost no issues besides Bixby, which Samsung even lets you disable. OneUI has been garbage, but its great in this new phone, just look at what most reviewers have to say. The s10+ is way more well rounded then the op7 pro, which has some standout features but some pitfalls top. 90HZ is great but still isn't a huge difference and the battery life is quite poor on the OP 7 pro, I went to t-mobile and didn't notice much of a difference if at all, I did notice a difference with the 120hz razor phone though, maybe if you slow the phone down by 5x the 90 hz will have a big difference.
And you're acting like iPhones are a similar value, the hardware of iPhones in general doesn't even compare to Samsung, they're GARBAGE. Unlocked right now is a s10+ and a XR for around the same price, 880p LCD vs 1440p 4k OLED display, 18 watt vs 5 watt charger, 4100 mah battery vs 3200 mah, wide angle + telephoto lens, no giant notch and a bigger screen, slightly curved edges, headphone Jack, expandable storage, way more ram AND storage. Gtfo saying these phones are close in that regard, apple is only for iOS, why would you rather buy an iPhone. Without nova launcher, Samsung offers LOADS of customization. Also real world pricing is 29$ for a OP 7 pro a month with t-mobile which is the only seller in the US, sprint is 25$ for a s10+ with upgrade plan and all, which makes a lot more sense then spending way more to buy a phone outright vs only paying half price then upgrading to the latest and greatest phone of your choosing, keep in mind most people use carrier plans so this is the more realistic example. Oh and no wireless charging with the OP 7 pro, IP rating, headphone Jack, expandable storage, etc.

Biased much?
S10+ is about €50 more expensive so it's basically in the same league price wise.
I'm currently using Note 8 but I'm sick of Samsung. However, battery life is important and I read that OnePlus 7 Pro doesn't have a good battery life.
I had an s10+ (that I returned) and found battery life to be very similar between the two.
I'm enjoying the 7pro a lot more because I value the notchless screen, performance, and software. That said, the cameras on the s10 are definitely better.
it just depends what you care about more, for me personally camera and wireless charging is a plus for s10 but the notch less display, a bigger display, a fingerprint scanner that works a lot faster, Oxygen OS outweigh the benefits from S10 but I barely ever take any pics and found alternate solutions for wireless charging.
The S10 has a much better camera experience, IP rating(if that matters to you) and Wireless charging.
Oneplus has a better overall software experience. Not saying Samsung is bad because it is not, Samsung has come a long way from touchwiz and oneui is enjoyable. Oneplus's oxygen OS is just very smooth and fast especially with the 90hz screen
Rooting is easy with Oneplus. Not so much on the S10
Updates ate quicker and more frequent on Oneplus devices.
I usually find my sim card in the s10 because of the wireless charging and better camera.
Oneplus has better system software for the most part, S10 is going to beat it in nearly every other category hardware wise. At the same price the s10+ would be hard to pass up and get the Op7
Same price, S10+ for me no questions asked (this is coming from someone who as owned almost every OnePlus device and not had a Samsung since the Note 4). I own both phones and the S10+ is my daily driver, 7 Pro is my backup.
It really depends on what you're looking for in a phone. While the 7 Pro feels a little faster (not much) OneUI on the S10+ offers a lot more options (and is so much better than TouchWiz was). Really the only thing the 7 Pro has over the S10+ is the 90hz screen, screen size, no notch/hole punch, charging speed, and 3.0 memory.

They do on the international variants...
I switched from the S10+ to the OP7 Pro because I was hating the punch hole but to be honest I'm thinking on returning the OP7 Pro.
Choppy scrolling on all browsers I've tried, completely opposite of smooth. S10+ was way smoother. Extremely poor LTE signal on T-Mobile, can't stream anything over 480p. Chin bigger than in advertisements/renders. Can't play any video on anything over 1.5x, have a lot of audio cut offs and too many dropped frames. 90% of my use is web browsing and watching videos at 2x so these are deal breakers for me.
I'm also struggling to give up Always on Display and wireless charging and I prefer S10+ screen's colors and the subtle curves with much less glare I just hate the punch hole so not sure what to do yet.
Performance wise are similar but animations are smoother on OP7 Pro. I could not go back to Note 9 since that one is now too slow for me.

I haven't noticed this, you are sure you aren't getting throttled to 480p but the network? If you have ONE but not plus you will be throttled to 480p.

Do they charge extra for that? I only found one that said "HD 24 Hours Pass" and it costs $3 per day.
It may be my area though, when I had my sim on the S10+ it had no problems at all streaming 1080p or even 2k videos at all.
OP7 Pro starts streaming at like 360p and I have to manually change it to at leats 720p but it stops A LOT to buffer.

Lol, sorry I meant the chin.
And no I'm not being throttled to 480p, if I insert the sim on the S10+ I can stream 1080p or 2k without any issues. It might be my area though. I also have the international version of the OP7 Pro and I heard rumors that it didn't have band 71 but I'm not sure.

S10+ beats the OnePlus 7 Pro in nearly every category hardware wise? Hardly. Best screen, OP7P. Fastest UFS storage, OP7P. Best speakers, in my opinion, OP7P. Headphone jack, obviously S10+. Cameras are subjective, especially with pending software updates, but I do believe that Samsung oversaturates their pictures way too much. Build quality is a tossup, as both smartphones are beautiful in their own right. Both feature an SD855 processor. Everything else is a tie.

I have both and it really is swings and roundabouts.
The OP is faster at pretty much everything, I prefer the near stock experience and knowing I'll get Q probably in the autumn vs 2020 on the S10+
I have the ceramic S10 and it probably is a nicer device in the hand and slightly easier to manage, I also miss the always on display and wireless charging. I would imagine the non-ceramic S10+ is even easier to manage on account of being lighter.

Doesn't look like the international one has band 71. Kimovil has a great and easy way to find out bands and coverage support. I use this when I get new phones because I travel to the USA regularly and want a phone that can roam well.

Thanks for the replies all.
The main reason 7 Pro is attractive is that notchless big screen with a 4000mah battery and easy root.
The rest is not so important.
However I think I might just wait and see what happens next year.
Note 8 is still quite powerful. Just that battery life...

The big notchless screen was my main attraction to the OP7 Pro as well but I finally decided today that I'll return it and go back to the S10+. There's just too many little details (bugs and missing things) that add up and make the overall usability worse. The only scenario I've found the OP7 Pro better was when watching videos in the night because I hate the pucnh hole but other than the hole, the screen on the S10+ is better (better more vivid colors, brighter, more subtle curves and waaay less glare, better viewing angles without much color shifting, it's super amoled so glass is glued to screen and looks as if there had not glass at all, while OP7 Pro looks like if you were looking through a window, not sure how to explain it but noticed the same with my ex-Mate 20 Pro when comparing with my ex-Note 9)

Uh all oleds are that way. It's how the technology is ? it's probably the screen protector making it look different .

Removing the screen protector of my Op7 pro was the fiedt thing I did, I hate screen protectors. It's the calibration, quality (even though both are samsung branded the one of the S10+ is more expensive even though it's smaller because of something) and because AMOLED vs glass separated from display. I don't know what you mean with "all OLEDS are that way, that's how technology is" yeah all of them have color shift and all of them are prone to burn in but color shift is A LOT less noticeable on my S10+ unless I tilt it to extreme unusable angles.
Yes usability is worse, I can get things done easier and faster on the S10+ even though animations are "smoother" and apps load 0.5 seconds faster on OP7 Pro. If I was a samsung fanboy I wouldn't even have bought the OP7 Pro, I just try to buy the best phone in the market for my usage no matter the brand and I truly though this was gonna be the close to perfect phone but they are still cutting a lot of corners. I'll try again with the OP8 Pro.
Please delete. Ain't going to waste my time
Was it simply you wanted the smaller form factor ?
Picked the note 10+ the bigger the better
Yeh it was exactly that for me, just wanted a smaller version just wish the battery was as good as my S10+, but obviously that won't be the case.
For me, it was the size. Yeah I know the plus model isn't that much bigger but still... After using a bunch of huge phones for the past few years, I wanted something smaller. Also I was ok with the 1080p display (which still looks amazing btw) and didn't mind the 8gb of ram so yeah.

Had it not been for the price you would have gone for Note 10+ ?
Size for me.
Nothing more besides the build of the device. I love the boxed shape chocolate bar desiggn of the devices ever since my Sony Xperia z3. I was waiting for Samsung to implement a similar design and this seemed to be it.
Now if they remove the curved edges since it's outdated in my opinion, I feel this design is perfect. I felt the Xperia xz3 had the perfect build and design for a smartphone. If they were to modernize that build with extremely minimal bezels like the note 10 plus that would be my ideal smartphone design.

Would i leave my hamburger for steak dinner if the price is the same? Hell yes.
The size of the phone is 100% important to me. I can't carry phone around, it really irritates me to have to somehow fit it in the front pocket, then when I sit, I have to remove it, baby it all the time as a nanny. I remember having Sony Xperia Compact...few years ago, was good, but it didn't support wifi calling, VoLTE with my T-Mobile sim, although other phones did. So even 5 inch phone is great. I just want to forget that I have it, as one pocket has keys, the other my wallet. I like Note device and picked Note10. The sad part is that my phone is 60% in my car/home and 40% with me.
I've been waiting for such a phone for so many years. big screen, slim body, and I really need s pen in every day use.
If only the camera was under the screen, it would have been perfect. But the punch hole is not that bad anyway.
FHD display is enough for me, and I've never used more than that in my note 9 and note 8, so I actually prefer it to QHD.
Not having a micro sd when you get 256 Gb is not a problem either. For me even 128 gb is enough.
Battery is a lot better than I expected. I get about 1 hour screen on time more than note 9.
It's almost the perfect phone.
I wonder if anyone can help me, should Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite buy it. In Vietnam market, its selling price is very good.
Link in VietNames: https://didongviet.vn/samsung-galaxy-note-10-lite
why not get s10e? or wait for s20
I would have definitely went the Note 10 Lite if my current phone (Note 8) wasn't working so damn well for my needs. I think the 10 Lite offers the best combination of features for the price than any other phone today, especially to those who want a stylus. The 3.5mm headphone jack and a non-curved screen actually make it more attractive (to me) than the more expensive Note 10 models.
I'm wondering about this as well. I'm in the US on T-mobile and wondering how this will work. Someone did me a favor by dropping my Note FE and now I'm in the market for a replacement (screen was toasted due to the drop). Wondering how the 10 Lite will work as a daily driver here in the US.
Anyone have any thoughts based on their experiences? Especially @butchieboy - would you recommend it as a daily driver (and only phone)?
Thanks in advance.
Hello, well i am using this phone now for about 2 month's. I am very happy with the phone for my purpose of use. For the price you will get a lot off phone is my opinion. The screen is fantastic, large, great colors, good visible in light. It runs very smooth, no lags at all and in my country the updates comes fast. All the good UI features are present and working very well. I am not a gamer so i could not inform you about gaming performance, only simcity buildit i use and that is running without any lag. The camera is pretty well, very nice wide angle and good HDR quality. Night photography is possible in pro-mode and for what i have seen reasonably. And then the S-pen, that is the reason i bought this one and not the s10 lite. I love the S-Pen and the features. Easy to use and very handy.
The battery gives me more then one day of usage, about 35 hrs. And with the charger it is fully loaded in a hour. The sound with headset and bluetooth speakers is good. Connection also, haven't had problems. The fingerprint reader is not the best there is, in bright light it does not work all the time but face unlock is very fast and accurate.
Overall opinion with marks 1-5:
Display, 5
Multitasking, 4
Performance daily use, 4/5
Battery, 5 (more then one day on fair use)
Software, 4
Updates, 4/5
Design, 5 (personal)
Fingerprint, 3
Cheers!

I have this phone and i can't agree more with you.
I think its an excellent phone, especially if you need a stylus.
I live in United States and use it on At&t and love it. Can't beat the price. Plus bootloader can be unlocked and very easy to root if you care about that.

I've decided the Note 10 Lite is the phone for me, after researching for a while. Don't play games, don't even need a decent camera, and it's the only decent(ish) phone in the UK currently that can be had for under £35 a month, everything else goes up way to much. Plus it should be a nice upgrade from my P20 Pro, even if it's not got flagship specs.
Currently waiting a week as I'm almost into the free upgrade period, and I'm not spending £50 to release early when I could just wait a week!

Gaming ain't bad bro. Just not high refresh rate and all that.
I am going to buy this phone should I go for it in 2020? I will be using this phone for at least 2 years but I have doubt on this phone's processor please reply
I'm also very happy with 10 lite...love it much more day by day
I've had mine a week now and it's brilliant really (for my use!)
It's now in a spigen case, so the plastic back really doesn't bother me. The whole UI is miles faster than my old P20 Pro, even with the supposed chip differences, that's not bothered me at all! Battery life is good, the screen is bright and sharp and I'm very glad I went for it!
I love the S-Pen. Don't use it all that much tbh, but for screen snips, selecting text and playing with the AR camera, it's fab! Certainly glad I have it than not. Had the first cause to use the screen-off note function the other day and it was brilliant.
There are a few drawbacks however:
The in-screen fingerprint sensor is trash. Like really bad, when I go to my P20 Pro it's instant compared to the Notw10Lite, and that's when the note actually recognises my fingerprint. It got worse when I fitted a screen protector, just refused to work at all so instead I just set a pattern and use face unlock, which works well.
The camera is wierd. It defaults to a mid-zoom which takes the clearer images. If I back it down to no zoom the images become slightly blurred, so I need to get used to that
Samsung software, this was always something I knew would be tricky, because I don't like it. Nova launcher prime went on within half an hour of unboxing it and now it's about as good as it will get. Open app notifications can't be swiped away without closing the app fully, some refuse to go at all and the samsung software spent a week throwing notifications at me to use it's stuff (I don't have a samsung account, don't want to use Bixby etc...)
It is nice though, and a very good compromise for a big screen with stylus phone without spending full fat note prices. Hopefully in time some lovely rom's will come out for it, although I use google pay 100% of the time so that could be a potential issue.
If you are interested in getting a Note 10 Lite. Why not just get the Note 9? As it is flagship device and has more features that the Note 10 Lite.

A good question is where to buy new note 9 in 2020...
I love the note10 lite, but it's too hot (not like sexy girl!). The Exynos 9810 heats up even under light load. And in games, like Pascals Wager, becomes an oven. Also note10 lite does not hold the cellular signal very well.
Otherwise it's a great middle-range smartphone, with a good camera and performance

You can easily find a brand new unit on eBay or any other reputable online retailer. You might be able to find one in a 3rd party high street retailer. I have the N960N (which is powered by the Exynos 9810) and it doesn't heat up that much, unless I have my Note 9 under heavy load
Okay so here is the deal. I currently own a Moto Maxx (xt1225), which is old and dying. I can't find a good offer on the older note models like 9 or 8. BUT i can grab a Note 10 lite for around 360 bucks. Is it worth it? For all i know this is pretty much a S9 with an S-Pen. My problem is that the XDA scene does not look promising and my experience with moto maxx was pretty bad cause it was nearly dead too. I had an galaxy S2 and it was awesome lot of development! But i don't wanna get stuck with another dead phone for 6 years again, any thoughts?
