Note 10+ VR Incompatible - Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Questions & Answers

So sammy has said note 10+ wont be working with their VR headsets and they didn't say if they had any plans of making a headset to fit the note 10+.
There are many third party headsets on the market and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a headset on the market that will fit a note 10+ ?
Might be to early to ask but maybe someone has already been looking based on the measurement of the phone.
Anyways if someone in the future gets a headset that works with note 10+ then please share it with the rest of us.

Size-wise, you should be able to cram it into the Gear VR. It's the same size as the Note9.

I believe the only headset that fits with the note 9 is the 235.
I am in the process of ordering that one for my note 9 as I am currently using a personally modified vr headset for the note 7 lol.
I had to cut so much plastic off and grindied the grapping hooks so now it just a matter of time before it breaks.
I'll give it a try when I get both phone and headset.
But just from all the sites that talked about this said none of Sammy's vr would fit the note so I automatically assumed it might be a tad bit to big. I just hope u r right.

Gear VR no more

Best VR Headset?

Was wondering if anybody is using this device for VR and how is the experience? I have never used a VR headset but i would like to know what are some of the best/ most recommended headsets available. I've seen the Zeiss VR One headset but not really sure if there are any features or pros that would make this set a viable purchase over say a 15-40 dollar set off of amazon. Far as i know the only features any of them offer is adjusting focal length/distance? Nothing to spend an extra 60 bucks on.
PS: A large 5.7 QHD screen with stereo front facing speakers seemed perfect for VR hence one of the main reasons i decided to go with this phone over my other top picks. Might as well get the most out of the experience lol

No the Gear VR only works with very certain Samsung handsets such as the Galaxy S6 and S7 Family of Devices. But there are other VR Headsets under the name of Google Cardboard all over amazon etc that will work with Android phones as long as that VR Headset supports a screen size that your phone has.
The P2 from Dodo Case is a great starting VR Headset. It's currently at $18. I love it. As the market sits currently, there is no reason to purchase a $100+ VR Headset. The support is not all there, and the VR apps are just beginning to grow. I'd say purchase a cheap cardboard VR Headset so you can test it out, and later, once more support and more demanding applications are made, then purchase a real VR headset. It's been reported that Google themselves will create a more sophisticated VR Headset, and with LG's, HTC's, Sony's, Samsung's respective headsets, will create a hopefully amazing and demanding market for VR.

the most reasonable ones ive seen were destek and vr box. there about 25 dollars and look to be pretty comfortable
I really like the design of this one.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B4DK0WO?m=A28UPC11K5E82V&ref_=v_sp_widget_detail_page
Pleasing to the eye and looks comfortable.
I am using google cardboard v2, very interesting project, and its good to get familiar with VR world.
Using the ViewMaster, got them for $15 from amazon warehouse. This phone just fits without much wiggle room but it fits. They feel very solid and my kids love them.
I have the FreeFly VR and that really has been very good.
currently i use a homido. the adjustability is ok since you can swap the lenses out easilly for near/far sighted. the main difference between them function wise is some allow for pupillary distance and focal length adjustments *look for dials on the side and top* and optics. the zeiss headset has a very high quality optics set. but you can get by with a cheaper one with a few mods very easilly. *you may have to custom make a headband or padding so you can wear it continuousely.
An option i would look into is a bluetooth controller. can get one for a couple bucks and will save you a lot of headaches from having to take the phone out of the headset to start an app or something.

I got a WeAreVR headset from amazon! Can't expect Gear VR quality from a 30 dollar headset but it ain't to bad for an early experience. Not really sure of too many worthwhile VR experiences yet outside of the big money ones, but as a cheap headset for youtube videos occasionally it's not half bad.
Any updated recommendations for VR headsets for my Moto X pure? I'm in the market. Thx!
I got fiit VR and it's pretty good imo
Anyone know if you can use the netflix VR app with moto x pure and a headset? I think i saw its only supported by the daydream product line?
I like a lot the BOBOVR Z4, a little pricier than the usual 18$ Chinese headset, but it has a good built and lens quality
I am using One Plus headset its pretty decent for the price.
Zeiss One plus.
Sorry to dredge up a slightly dead thread.. But..
Supposedly Zeiss are going to release a kit, which lets you connect the Zeiss VR One Plus to your computer, so the headset functions more as a Rift HMD, which will also allow compatibility with Steam VR.
This sounds pretty nice, since the VR One Plus, supposedly does not need any adjustments to lenses (I am constantly fidgeting with my 20€ china headset, and never getting a great image) and also the high resolution on the X-Style should make for decent sharpness.
And.. Supposedly a set with the VR One Plus and the connection kit, should cost about 150$, which isn't too bad, if it works.
Obviously still needs to be released, reviewed and available near me.. But I am a bit excited.
Question though.. The Seizz VR One Plus website, states that it works with phones up to 5.5", and the X-style/pure is 5,7".. It has a fairly small bezel, but still.. Anyone have any experience with this headset ?
Thank in advance.
(Edit.. What the hell.. 150$ in first article.. Next article states about 200€... That EU tax hits hard sometimes..)

Why don't you buy a Samsung headset?
I am using airpods with my s76 edge and have made and received calls from them. and yes the mic works on mine. a double tap on either airpod pauses and un pauses the audio. other people have said when they remove one it pauses but that feature on my set doesn't work. I know there is a interface on the iphone where you can turn that feature on or off. I'm going to pair them with my wife's iphone 7 tonight and see if I can turn it on then re pair with my s7 edge to see if that works

Galaxy S8 Might Ditch the Heapdhone Jack, Thoughts?

So let me just start this off by saying that I'm not a firm believer in one side or another. I've used a Galaxy S3 and E5 extensively (over a year each) and I've had my s7 for 6 months or so. I also used a IPhone 5 and iPad air for over a year each. I currently use a 2012 MacBook for school work and use my self built pc for everything else.
IMHO, my best experience with a phone is probably a tie between a jailbroken iPhone 5 and an Galaxy E5 running CM13. On one hand, the jailbroken iphone offered all the customizability that stock android offers and more, and was a joy to use. The E5 running Cyanogenmod was incredibly snappy and was just an amazingly customizable experience.
Now that that's out of the way, I want to know, what are your thoughts on the Galaxy S8 not having a headphone jack? I honestly might revert to IPhone use from my S7 when I upgrade unless it has an unlocked bootloader. I don't link the standard that Apple set and I have headphones which I paid good money for, which will become basically obsolete. I know that people over here at XDA will find a way to root it even if it's unrootable out of the box, but I also know that the Pangu team will probably find a way to jailbreak iOS 10-11, and if they do I'm probably switching back to iPhone. I stayed with my S7 over waiting for the iPhone 7 mainly for the headphone jack, root, and wireless charging.
So what will you guys do, stick with Samsung or switch to an apple product. I'm really curious to see how the community will react to this.
My next phone will not be a Samsung especially if they dont have headphone jacks. If the s7 gets the bootloader unlocked i will stick with it for awhile tho. If not i will probably go towards google for my next phone. I will never own an iPhone again i hated everything about my 5S lol
I started a new job back in August and i was told that we are able to listen to music, but the headphones must be wireless because of safety around equipment. i bought a pair of Aukey headphones that were $10 on Amazon. Ever since then, i have not wanted to go back to wired headphones. This is one of those things that i feel is easy to go against, but once you try it, you'll love it. Now of course i can understand why audiophiles are not pleased in addition to the average consumer. I think the S8 will be fine without a headphone jack. Bluetooth is just so convenient. As more companies ditch the headphone jack, the technology behind it will get better faster. Although, for now the S7 is my last samsung device because of how locked down it is to rooting. I will go to a pixel in a year or 2.
I haven't used wired headphones in years except to try out the free headphones I got with my v20. I work in a shop so wired headphones would be a safety Hazzard, plus Bluetooth is just so much more convenient. I do however not like the idea of taking something like a headphone jack out of a phone. You may not always use it, but there are times when you'll wish you had one. With that said I do plan on getting the s8+ because I really miss Samsung even after the note 7 fiasco, but I'm too impatient to wait for the note 8.

I could care less.
In all the phones Ive had over many years I have never even opened the headphones let alone plugged a set in to one of my devices.
So yeah, not something I will even notice if its gone LOL

Galaxy S phones were never good audio player anyway, for that you must get an HTC, this is crazy when you know samsung were the mp3 player kings with the P2 and P3 couple years ago

The problem is that a dedicated headphone jack occupies space. To include it in a phone of a given size, you have to skimp on something else that is more useful. So I'm in favor of removing the jack.
i don't care
bluetooth tech is become better and better so i don't need to think about high quality sound through wires or bluetooth.
i think it didn't use headphone jack for 2 yrs! it s just become dusty hole for my phones! anyway I don't like iPhone
It'll be a deal breaker for me. I don't have to have the thinnest lightest phone possible, but I do have to have a headphone jack. I loved my Note 7 and my Note 7 version 2, but now I'm rocking a V20 which admittedly has way better audio quality than Samsung's ever had. I'd still go back to Samsung for the screen though as long as it has a headphone jack.
Lack of headphone jacks don't bother me since I use BT headphones but I can understand why you would want one of you're an audio enthusiasts.

Does the Samsung Gear S2 Platinum have a speaker?

Since I don't like the huge Gear S3, I decided to wait a whole year for the Gear S4 to come out. It seems there won't be a Gear S4 so I started to look at other models and saw that the Gear S2 Platinum (that looks really nice) had a big price drop.
The thing is that I want a speaker for the smartwatch to communicate with me (alarms, assistant, etc.) but it's not clear anywhere that it has a speaker. Even the official site does not specifically states it has a speaker.
If you can take calls on it, then most likely it does have a speaker.

Found my answer on the Amazon product page where it says "It doesn't have speakers, hence use Level U bluetooth headphones to hear music"
So that's a big negative point for me.

Question Buds Live are the only earbuds that won't work with the S22 Ultra

I'm hoping someone has some answers for me because I'm absolutely baffled.
I used the Buds Live on my Note 20 Ultra and they worked fine. When I got my Watch4, they came with the Buds2, so I gave the Lives to my dad. The Buds2 work fine but they end up hurting my ears and not fitting properly. I've put off finding a better pair all year, and now I've run into this.
I tried pairing a new pair of Buds Live from Amazon with my S22 Ultra. The right bud refused to work at all, and all the 'tricks' I found on Reddit and Google about trying to charge it or fiddle it to make it work did nothing. I exchanged them for another pair. This pair connects, but then goes bonkers. It will cut out constantly, get a desync between the buds (where I hear the same thing slightly off from both buds), and one bud will randomly disconnect for anywhere from 5 seconds to a minute. I figured I got another bum pair, but based on a friend's advice, I tried them on my dad's phone (Pixel 6a), and they work completely fine. I tried my mom's Pixel Buds on my S22, they also work fine.
That's when I realized my Buds2 also worked fine since I've had the phone, so it couldn't be the Gear app or some bluetooth hardware issue. I've tried every single fix and recommendation short of resetting the network settings since I have about a couple hundred WiFi passwords I can't bother to lose.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I'm totally out of ideas and pretty bummed since the Live are the only buds that aren't uncomfortable for my weirdly shaped ears.
try to chat with Samsung support, send them serial# and get refund if broken devices
I also got buds live with N20u but mine are working fine with S22U. I would agree with earlier suggestion to contact the support and let them deal with it... until you get a pair that works

That's so weird, I cannot imagine why these buds in particular wouldn't work. I'll contact support, but I'm not sure what they'll be able to do. Other Samsung and non-Samsung earbuds work perfectly fine, so just this one model not working is confounding me.

Good to know, so it's not something wrong with the actual phone model.
So I was just creating a return on Amazon to order another pair, and I noticed I ordered the "international version" instead of the "US version". I can't see how that would make a difference, but could that be the problem?

Well, I would also think it shouldn't make a difference, but just in case and to please gods, order US version this time. And, let us know if how they work once they arrive
My buds live.work fine with s22 ultra. Including on the beta.
I wish Samsung would do an updated version of them. No other buds are like these, especially when running...
