Since today, whenever I watch a video on twitch/YouTube (Pop Up enabled on both), the app sometimes just minimizes and goes back to where I was before. Leaving me with the pop up player of twitch/youtube.
It happens every 3-4 minutes and I do't have any idea why it's happening.
Any help here? Thanks!

Hello,
Has anyone noticed that when watching a video on youtube, and you pause / wait for it to load or whatever and the display goes to sleep. When hitting the power button (literally seconds later) to wake the device, the youtube app is still there, but it has not only NOT finished downloading whatever video I was watching, but the video is GONE and I have to d/l the damned thing all over again.
Maybe this is just my device, but it has done this will all ROMs I have tried. Perhaps there is a software fix for this? I have a euro touch pro in Canada, no 3G and a youtube vid can take 5-6 minutes sometimes, plus a lot of data. I hate to watch 9 minutes of a video, have to pause, turn it back on to find I have to start again!
Thanks in advance!
i believe that is just the app itself mines does this to the youtube app needs work
1. My Shield keeps randomly opening apps when it is left alone open for about 10-15 minutes... I have actually looked at it and seen it on the home screen and just open a app. Anyone else having this problem?
2. Is there a screen recorder, like Z screen recorder, that can record the Shield?

weird, i'd call NV and report it...report on their GEFORCE forum too. also, i'd RMA for a new one. i do have some issues, with Android running in the back ground for no reason...only happened once...when i opened it up, it rebooted itself. mostly random hangs/freeze happens.
Moto G is my first Motorola phone ever, so I don't know if this is normal.
When I have the YouTube app open and the video paused, the screen never turns off.... even after 10, 20, or 30 minutes.
On my other phones, such as the Samsung Note 3, HTC One and iPhone 4, the screen turns off after 30 seconds
(if that's what i chose in the "Display" setting).
With video paused in the Netflix player or MX player, the screen turns off after 30 seconds. It's only when the video is paused in the YouTube app.
I looked into the Moto G's display settings, but still couldn't figure out why it's not turning off with YouTube video paused
like the other phones.
Thanks!
noboy has experience this "problem" ?
Don't have this problem with my Youtube app.
Have you tried it with Chrome or another browser? Edit: Ah, nevermind. Just read that you tried it in the Netflix player.

I didn't think to try YouTube in a browser.
I opened up Chrome app and wen to YouTube. After the video starts playing for a few seconds, I hit the pause button. 30 seconds later, the screen will turn off.
So I guess the problem is the the YouTube app. Just tried the same video using the YouTube app... the screen would not turn off with the video paused at all.
I first discovered this "problem" when I was watching a YouTube video on YouTube app and had to leave the office. I hit pause and left the Moto G on my desk. When I came back about an hour later, the screen was still on. It can't be good for any LCD screen to display a static image like that.(or for battery life)
Why would you just leave it paused over a period of time?

see my post above(#4). When I was playing the video, someone called me, so I paused the video in the YouTube app. It was an emergency and I just ran out of the office. Obviously I wasn't about to stop and turn off my phone.
I just conducted another test... I left a video playing. It was 10 minutes long... after the video completely finished playing, the YouTube app also prevented the Moto G's screen from turning off. Basically the screen won't turn off whenever the YouTube app is open. (with or without video playing)
Not really sure what the problem is, but it does not occur on my Note 2, Note 3, or HTC One.
I have an issue with WiFi on my factory unlocked A9.
When on WiFi and using Flipboard, a lot of times the page will refuse to load with, "No connection, retry". I flick back and try again, and it works. If I turn off WiFi and use data, I never get that. But, about 50% of the time, I will get the "No connection, retry" notice but as soon as I flick back and try again, it works about 90% of the time. Sometimes, it will take 3 or 4 flicks back and forth. BUT, this never happens if I turn WiFi off. My WiFi is my home network and I'm sitting within 10 feet of the router, signal strength is not the issue.
Also, when watching a video that was linked inside Flipboard, my A9 will refuse to play the video in landscape mode, just keeps cycling between the play symbol and the pause symbol. But, if I leave the video in portrait mode, hit play, then after it starts playing turn the phone on its side for landscape, the video will keep playing without a problem. It will not play initially in landscape mode at all.
My A9 is completely stock factory unlocked version with the latest ota updates. Everything else about the phone works fine, with the exception of the above two issues. I get great battery life since the last ota update and am very happy overall with the phone.
Not happy about not being Gorilla Glass 4 and my glass is not flat. When you look at my screen at an angle against a light source, the screen is very wavy, I mean the worst I've ever seen on any of my phones. I do not feel anything so can't tell if this reflection is off the surface or below the surface. My old Galaxy S5 screen doing the exact same thing is flat as could be, no distortion at all but the A9 looks like the image is on acid or something, disconcerting.
Thanks for any help...
I have the G955U version of the S8 Plus. Most apps that I use will occasionally refresh while I am using them clearing any progress that I may have had. These refreshes will normally happen in pairs as well, happening about 30sec to a minute apart. The most noticeable refreshes happen on Snapchat, Youtube, and Twitch apps.
So for example, in Snapchat if I take a picture and put a caption, etc. it will refresh and I will be taken back to the picture taking screen forcing me to retake a picture. On youtube, I will be watching a video and the video will reload and start where it left off and then it will do it again about 30 seconds later however this time, the video will be black and I can still hear audio. I normally fix this issue by going to the next video and then going back to the original video. Twitch will just reload the stream and chat. It seems as though this will happen on most apps, including games and messenger apps. But I haven't had it happen on browsers yet.
Any ideas?

In this thread they suggest it's a network issue. So far, with airplane mode on, i've had no screen refresh issues.
