Hi guys, I got my OnePlus 7 pro at the time of release, and up to now it's been through all of the updates etc. But I have a major problem with using WiFi. Sometimes it works normally, but other times, images won't load, or downloading images from apps such as WhatsApp takes forever. Images such as profile pictures don't load either or will take a very long time. However watching video on YouTube etc is all fine. I'm very confused at to this issue and wondering if anyone else knows anything about it.
Thankyou!
By the way, using mobile data works fine and everything loads properly.
I would recommend factory reset at this point. This beast is fast as hell on wifi. No issues here.
I've also had this issue sometimes. It pops back up every now and then but what fixed it in most apps was going into router/modem settings and make sure that the time(what tells the router your local area's current time) is being controlled by your ISP and not by the internet.

Thank you for your response, yeah the 7 pro is a beast, but i doubt that a factory reset would help

Thank you for your reply, i will try this and see if it works. I'm still unsure about the cause of this issue, and i really hope its not a hardware issue. I never had this problem on my OP3 which is quite sad
I have the same strange problem here ...

The strange thing is, if I turn on vpn, it works, but the internet is a lot slower using VPN...

I was Using the built-in Msn/facebook messenger function in the Mango built 7.10.7712.60 and came here to share some thought and wonder if i am the only one facing this issue or is there anyone else
Sometimes i get messages with delays .. the scenario is like this :
i am chatting with someone then a sudden silence breaks in .. after a while i write a something and hit send and BOOM i get like 3-4 messages that i didn't recieve on time.. it happened to me several times
did it happen to anyone else or just me ?
Yep, I've noticed that also.

I also have the same issue but mostly due to bad internet connection
Go to wifi. Try it.
No delays. Blame your internet.
Just happens with my 3G/2G internet.
It happens to me all the time. What is annoying, though, is getting a toast notification for _every_ message, even when you are in the thread. I wouldn't mind the many toasts while I am not in the thread, but good grief, when I am watching all the messages come in, I don't need a notification for every one.
I am still unable to see my contacts online or to have them integrated with their actual contact information. I can chat with them if they message me first though. And they always show up as their email address. Has anyone figured that out yet?

Eh, I'm sure everything will work great when the final release comes out. My phone has done some things that don't happen on demo videos or it won't do things that demo phones do. It's what we get for playing with the beta.

Not concerned about the speed. But with reliability.

yes, this is solved by soft reset all your data on the phone - from the settings menu, ofc it will wipe all your data and everything, i had the same problem btw ^^
@The Main Problem
I am pretty sure its not related to the internet speed too, my 3G internet speed is above 4 mb/s
i Can't try it over wifi for some reason.. and even if i tried it will be of no use .. the basic state for my phone is 24/7 on 3G with Wifi turned off even at home .. also wifi turns off automatic after screen off so thats another block ..
what i am asking for is the reliability over 3G which is very important for a BBM/iCrap replacement solution ( for example )
i hope this get fixed in the final release, but i won't bet on it since the final release already out
The final release its 8 builds after our mango. So, it is a bug, it should be corrected. Although I dont think it really is a bug..
Jallen, do you have the Facebook app installed with notifications turned on?
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
are you able to see your contacts status? i can see there name and for some friends i can only see there email id. And the yahoo friends who are on my windows live ID. i can see them online but when i click on there name it says "Something's wrong"

I saw this post a few weeks back and have asked a few people on 4.2 about it and I'm not hearing anyone else cite this issue. You seem to have an isolated problem for some reason. Maybe something got corrupted during your "upgrade". If you can't fix it you'll probably have to backup your apps and data then do a factory reset and restore from backup to fix the problem.

Some people have had success fixing this issue by disabling WiFi Optimzation in the wifi settings. Never had an issue myself, on or off, so I can't say it works from personal experience.
I'm having the same problem. I've tried downloading and reinstalling the factory ROM right from ASUS but that didn't fix it (so don't waste your time trying that).

I'm on 4.2.1 and was having awful WiFi performance. Disabling WiFi optimization did the trick for me. Cheers!
Could it be a YouTube server issue and not really your tablet? I'm was still running the .25 firmware and noticed about 3 weeks ago the playback of video clips was very rough. The problem was the video stopped loading and creating the buffer for smooth playback. It would load 20-30 seconds, then stop, and start back up. It lasted a few days and then was fine again. Nothing had changed in my set up.
Is your phone connected to the same wifi to test loading the same clips? How about testing the same clips from your computer or on your phone but using the cellular network? I'm just trying to toss some ideas for other possibilities for the youtube issue. How has the tablet performed for other tasks?

No it's not YouTube cause even my browser is very slow. I've try with the apps speedtest and the result is awfull.
Update: I've just try the wifi optimisation trick by unchecking the box, deconnecting and reconnecting to my wifi and the wifi performance is back. thanks you all.

Wow, it's working. Thanks Faustus.
Yesterday I updated my Honor 8 via the Systemupdate Menu. Since the Update I am struggling with WLAN Problems.
I never disconnect from the network but every minute or so the connection gets super slow. Like 100Bits/Second slow.
This does not only happen at my home network but also at work. I tried resetting the network settings but nothing changed... I am clueless at this point on what to do.
Any help is appreciated a lot!
Thanks, Jonny
Other devices work fine. Gonna do a factory reset now.
The factory reset might have fixed it. Works fine at the moment Thanks
Nevermind the probem is still there. I reinstalled my apps and now have the same problem. Also i noticed that the Wlan Symbol goes from full connectivity to 0 and vice versa all the time..
How can I check which App causes the problem? When i reboot in save mode I can't find a way to test the connection. Could switching the main storage path to a SD be the cause in any way?
Because this time the problem started occuring again once I rebooted after switching this setting.
I resetted the phone and just installed Twitch to have a constant live stream running to be able to see when the problem occurs. The problem still happens every few minutes.
I now deinstalled Twitch and installed the Ookla Speedtest and the problem comes up from time to time again. I also deinstalled every preinstalled app after the reset. So i am pretty sure that apps are not the problem..

So and if u uninstall this "Twitch" problem still continuing? Constant live streaming must have too affect to other apps, streming take lot of signal...

I did a rollback already to Android 6 Emui 4.0 and updated via System update to Android 7 B380. The Problem however still occurs and I think
it is getting worse now. I barely have a minute of functional WLAN. However my replacement Unit was luckily granted. So I will get a new phone these days

Dear all,
I own a OP6 always updated through OTA. But I have a big problem: often, and without noticing it, the data connection is interrupted and the only way to reactivate it is turn off the connection from the menu, wait a minute, and reactivate the connection. It happens several times a day.
As you can imagine, it is a big problem because someone sends me emails or messages that I do not receive until I do the steps above. And I don't know when I'm connected and when I am not because everything seems okay.
Can you help me?
Thanks in advance.

Just out of curiosity, did you try downloading the latest full rom and flashing it? I was always having issues with severe battery drain if I updated by OTA. Downloading the rom from OP website and flashing fixed the issue. Could be something similar for you.
Be sure to do a backup first incase of any problems.

Not similar but this the only case. I learned it through 4 devices OTA updates always mess up something. Always do full clean install, i know it sucks to settup the phone again install backups.. etc.. but it gor good
I think i have the same problem but after every reboot. I get 4G icon, but there is no connectivity on chrome and other apps (although Spotify seems to work). Only after switching to 3G and back to 4G the data works...
I had the same problem on my OP3 in OOS, but not in Resurrection Remix... really weird. I may try Havoc OS to see.
No problems with mobile data here, but dame issues when on wifi. I did a factory reset yesterday and clean install, but sadly that didn't help.
I've just updated to OxygenOS 5.1.11 and the issue is still with me. How is it possible? It's a really annoying bug. Developers, where are you when we need you most?

Make sure you reboot your phone once after you do that
Does anyone know what the best apn and network settings are for an unlocked Moto g5 plus on metro by TMobile
When I use OP6 on mobile data, cant use google or associated programs... Used a VPN program and problem is solved.
Updated: deleted all APN and insert manually APN for my network. Works just fine...for now.
I'm having a weird issue that I haven't been able to find in any searches: when using Assistant to text (or call) it takes a very long time to process, almost a full minute before it reads the message back and asks if I want to send it. Using Android Auto, it just times out and goes back to playing music. It works just fine if I swipe up from the corners, but Assistant in Maps and Android Auto barely works.
This happens to me when I have bad connection, or when I drive close enough to my gym where it tries to auto connect to the wifi.

Unfortunately connection didn't seem to make a difference. Also, other functions work fine. I can ask questions and get immediate answers, broadcasting to home works fine (which you'd think would be a more intensive task). I've cleared cache/data for the Google app without any change. It's crazy weird and I haven't heard anything else like it.

I'm bone stock. I'm on the beta for the Google app. I'll opt out of that and see if it makes a different. I also wonder if it's a server-side issue that's affecting so few people they don't really know it's happening. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
