Mobile network standby - ASUS ZenFone 6 (2019) Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I loosing battery a lot through mobile network standby. It's almost 30%. Is there any fix for this.

Same problem:
huge drain with mobile network standby (10%) and google play services(8%)- Currently 59% of battery with 2h and 4mn of SOT and Phone iddle 16h 47mn
NO wifi, NO bluetooth, NO NFC

17% network stand-by
13% Google play services.
2h38 of SOT
Any fix ?

One possibility I could think of is that you have bad network signal strength. Check the actual values in "status of the SIM card" in system settings. If you have LTE/4G active and the value is always lower than -110 dBm this could be the culprit. You could try the app "network cell info lite" to confirm this as well.

Strange. Where are you from?
With O2 provider in Czech Republic I haven't any problem with mobile network standby (3%).
Google play services is probably lower than 1% so I don't have it present in battery statistics.

change interval for "searching for cell tower"

I have an HTC diamond CDMA and when I am at certain areas at work I won't get a signal and my battery will drain very quickly. Is there a way to change the interval that the phone will attempt to find a cell tower to 10 minutes or something instead of having it constantly drain searching for a connection?

Need Help How can I turn off cellular services (2g, 3g) when on Wifi

I need to know how can I turn off cellular services when I am using Wifi the reason i want to do that is because i believe that will increase my battery life.
I have an optimus 2x which I am not using so it does not have SIM in it but its on and on Wifi and with light usage I am 57% of battery life remaining for usage of 2 days and 7 hours I believe with cellular services turned off it will increase battery life
any help how it can be done
Just remove the sim card, you might have an option in settings > mobile / Wifi
Im not that familiar with the GN10.1 yet.
Turn on "Airplane Mode", and then turn WiFi back on. That will turn off the cell radio.

App to aggressively connect and maintain connection to mobile network

When I am on the train reception is full bars and 3G for 90%+ of the route
During off peak hours I get reliable and fast internet
During peak hours I can hardly connect. 25% to 50% of the time it will be successful.
Therefore it must be because lots of people are accessing the network at the same time. I am with Telstra, the best network in Australia. Tried other networks and it is even worse.
Is there an app (root requirements is fine) that will make my phone very aggressively connect to the mobile network and once connected, keep pinging/transferring data to maintain the connection continuously? Battery life and mobile data usage is not an issue

Location services does not work if battery saver is selected

This is a weird issue, if you select battery saver as the method for location services it will not work unless you have wifi on or scanning on. Battery saver users WiFi and mobile networks to determine location. On my other phones I didn't need wifi on as it would user my mobile data to give my location. Not looking for an accurate location just something close so I can receive weather alerts or traffic reports
Sorry that I am not clear what you mean "select battery saver as the method for location services". My location service works fine even if I have disabled WLAN when I have a walk every evening.

WiFi Calling in Airplane Mode - Cell Standby Battery Drain

I'm not sure if this belongs in the pixel 3a forum or a Sprint forum, but I'm trying to figure out an issue I'm having. I live in a poor service area, so when I am home I use wifi calling. In order to reduce the poor service area battery drain, I turn airplane mode on. However, even with airplane mode, I am getting mobile network standby battery drain when I have wifi calling enabled.
I downloaded the GSAM app to investigate this further. When, I am in airplane mode and have wifi calling enabled, the phone radio clock in the GSAM app is on, however if wifi calling is off (actual wifi is still on) the phone radio clock is off.
Is this normal? Would anyone be willing to test this out on their phone? Thanks!
In Developer Options>Networking do you have Mobile Data Always Active turned on?
