G8232 fingerprint sensor - Sony Xperia XZs Questions & Answers

Hi,
Does the G8232 really has the fingerprint sensor built in but disabled?
I tried to flash a custom one to a G8232 US version using flashtool + G8232 device updates and xperifirm to get a firmware from a different region ( tried "customized U.S." and "customized German").
I get a file to flash in the end and can flash the phone. However with both above mentioned versions there is no fingerprint sensor available. When using the German version, the initial greeting is in german (changed to english for the setup then) so I assume the flashing itself worked. Did I miss anything else or do the U.S. version of the phone no longer have the hardware for the fingerprint sensor?
Does anyone has a ftf that has it for sure in there and works on a G8232 US phone?

Mine is a G8232 on stock. The fingerprint sensor works perfectly. If I'm not mistaken, the US version do not have the fingerprint sensor.

I flashed stock firmware and still no fingerprint feature

LED Flash Fix (sort of) for Chinese Defy Retail Firmware

I came from U.S. t-mobile firmware.
After RSDlite my phone w/ Chinese Retail Defy 2.21 firmware, Camera LED doesn't work properly. ( only flash once )
Well.... I am not going to get into higher firmware that is NOT downgrade-able.
So, I found a camera program called "Vignette" from Market able to turn the LED Flash on during photo shooting.
* but it is still remain greenish.....
Anyway, those who prefer "retail" firmware, this "Vignette" program might be a "quick fix" until experts came out w/ true solution.
Didn't work for me. jBoogie froyo beta 3
Strange, I flashed tenfar's and doesn't have this problem at all...?

Tks for update, is your handset original from the U.S. T-mobile and currently on retail Chinese firmware?
I don't really use flash, but it just "bother" me a lot knowing something I have doesn't work "properly".

Help! Camera not working after flashing Global Rom

I have the Xperia XZs SOV34 Au version, and wanted to flash a Global Rom to get rid of the bloatware and generally speed up the phone...I am a noob when it comes to flashing, but somehow followed the instructions and got the Global version flashed. But the problem is that the Camera is simply not working anymore...app crashes every time and gives an error saying not working... Even third party apps don't work...after running the diagnostics it says the camera is not connected....camera was working fine before the flash... any way to fix this? Is it possible to re-flash the original SOV34 Au firmware? Any help is much appreciated!
I have same model with single SIM and using 41.3A.2.247/R1E customized BLX G8231 firmware
It seem stable except NFC, but still have a little bloatware

Question about VoLTE in another firmware that's different from my country

Hi , my XZP came with an unlocked bootloader, and the firmware is the one for my country, but is a lot bloated, and also I don't like the boot animation, and shut down one .
My question here is this , my firmware supports VoLTE , if I flash another firmware will i lose that option?? If yes, then what archive do I need to avoid in order to flash my device without losing the VoLTE option.
Thanks .
Anybody??
Also if I have my bootloader unlocked, how do i root the phone on Android pie ?? My firmware is
47.2.A.10.107
Well i flashed a german customized firmware, and excluded modem.sin from the flash, everything went smooth and i have the VoLTE settings.
I think that i need to call to my operator in order to have VoLTE calls because when i make one, it shows me HSDPA.
Also when i excluded the modem from the flashing, i was expecting yo have the same modem, but no, just look at the screenshots.
And finally can please anyone point me in the right direction in how to flash this device with this firmware : G8141_Customized DE_1308-5289_47.2.A.10.107_R6C
Thanks.

Question Change SM-F711U1 Region to Japan

Hi all,
All pay features and such are locked to local firmware and I'm wondering if I can just flash the Japanese variant firmware onto my SM-F711U1 using Frija. I'd rather not have bloatware but I want to be able to use G Pay. I can't without the Osaifu-Keitai app and that will not install on my variant.
If there is anyone that knows how to installOsaifu-Keitai on an international phone, that would solve all my problems.
It has been a very long time since I flashed anything and I'm a little rusty/lost. I couldn't even find the bloody search bar for this forum section! Forgive my ignorance.
You could side load the apk
https://m.apkpure.com/%E3%81%8A%E3%82%B5%E3%82%A4%E3%83%95%E3%82%B1%E3%83%BC%E3%82%BF%E3%82%A4-%E3%82%A2%E3%83%97%E3%83%AA/com.felicanetworks.mfm.main/versions
Thanks, but I tried sideloading it and the application just failed to open, saying that it is incompatible with the device.
For anyone else that ever looks to solve this in the future, it seems that there is a hardware limitation and a specific chip for Japan's implementation of NFC for payments. Either the chip is disabled or missing from other variants. It could be just a software check that stops the app from running, but I cannot find the Japanese firmware to flash at the moment, and not sure I want to brick my phone if the actual hardware is different. I might try once the firmware becomes available.
If it helps (not really) but US devices dont support non US firmwares, even if they share the same hw, so you wouldnt be able to flash JP firmware anyway
Do however note you can use samfirm patched to download the JP firmware

The answer lies within the differences in HW between US and non-US versions of the same phone model, namely, US version is "missing" MST technology. More on this topic here:
https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/what-is/mst/
Therefore, you cannot simply flash US version phone with non-US firmware, as Odin (Frija only used to download firmware) will not allow you, even patched version. It will simply fail during the installation phase and in the worst case scenario you will get a $1000 paperweight (read brick).

Any firmwares with VoLTE enabled

I'm trying to re-enable VoLTE by reverting the firmware back to Stock 601SO JP Nougat though during bundle creation, SMF prompted that carrier.sin isn't included in the 41.fsc flash script file. Ofc I didn't include it at first because it might lock my device back to the carrier who issued it - was unlocked before so I'm not entirely sure. After flashing Nougat 601SO (with *.ta and carrier.sin excluded), the setup screen is spazzing out with a window saying "ChameleonWorkload" stopped responding. I'm currently using Stock F8332 CE1 Oreo. So...
1. Is carrier.sin responsible for the "ChameleonWorkload" ANR spam?
2. Are there any stock F8332 firmwares that has VoLTE enabled?
According to a post from another forum, it can be done by using a firmware from another region (or carrier-specific)
