Hi , my XZP came with an unlocked bootloader, and the firmware is the one for my country, but is a lot bloated, and also I don't like the boot animation, and shut down one .
My question here is this , my firmware supports VoLTE , if I flash another firmware will i lose that option?? If yes, then what archive do I need to avoid in order to flash my device without losing the VoLTE option.
Thanks .
Anybody??
Also if I have my bootloader unlocked, how do i root the phone on Android pie ?? My firmware is
47.2.A.10.107
Well i flashed a german customized firmware, and excluded modem.sin from the flash, everything went smooth and i have the VoLTE settings.
I think that i need to call to my operator in order to have VoLTE calls because when i make one, it shows me HSDPA.
Also when i excluded the modem from the flashing, i was expecting yo have the same modem, but no, just look at the screenshots.
And finally can please anyone point me in the right direction in how to flash this device with this firmware : G8141_Customized DE_1308-5289_47.2.A.10.107_R6C
Thanks.

Hi,
Please if anyone has the firmware FTF with this details, because need to downgrade from 5.1.1 to 4.4.4 since 5.1.1 has alot of issues (Camera Overheating..etc)
Device: Xperia Z3 (D6603)
Build number: 23.0.1.A.5.77
Android version: 4.4.4
Customization version: 1289-4144_R25B
Region: DE (Germany)

Also, if I use other Branding/region. for example UK instead of DE, my sim will still unlocked?
Thank you!
You can flash any D6603 ROM, your phone will stay unlocked.

That's mean I can downgrade my firmware to any D6603 ROM even my currant Customization version is: 1289-4144 (Customized DE). There is not issue with sim card if I use other firmware like .77 or .93 with different customization number 1288-5031 as any example. Right?
Thank you for your help.

That's what Robogo1982 means by any, yes.
For example my phone came with RU firmware. But I have flashed UK, German and Netherlands unbranded firmwares without a problem and SIM stays unlocked.
The only differences between them are the apps that come pre-installed

Oh! Now make sense, thanks so much guys for your help. My last question, it's possible to downgrade from Marshmallow 6.0.1 to KitKat 4.4.4 directly via FlashTool, or I need to do something before that?
Thanks again!

Should be fine to downgrade straight but make sure to wipe data as it won't boot with Marshmallow data on the phone.
Flash tool has an option for this youll see it. Just tick where it says wipe: apps log and user data
Obviously bear in mind this wipes everything so back up everything before hand.
You can try without wiping data but this causes a boot loop for me.
Hit thanks if we helped. Button is right under our comments

You Got it
Regarding: "Wipes everything so back up everything before hand."
My SIM stays unlocked and bootleoder will not changed from YES to NO. Right?
Will be able to upgrade again to LP, MM via Xperia Update or Pc Companion?
I appreciate your time and help. Thanks!

So:
Even if you flash branded firmware like T-Mobile it will stay unlocked and any sim will work. So this won't change anything there don't worry.
I mean you will lose all your apps and settings etc.
Not sure about photos so copy them across to your computer just in case. You can just make a backup with PC companion.
PC companion will detect updates based on which country firmware is on your phone. If you flash Russia you will get the updates for Russian version and when they are available to Russia.
If German then updates will be German and when Germany gets them etc
Makes sense?
So best is to flash your country version and then you get updates as they become available to your country,
but you can use any country version you want and get updates when that country gets them.

Hello there XDA Members,
I have a massive problem and I hope someone in this forum is able to help me, I have an S6 Edge SM-G925F, I recently broke my phone and sent it to repair they repaired it and installed firmware that is non EE therefore I lost my WiFi Calling feature, I was like okay let me just flash the EE firmware unfortunately due to the bootloader they installed being newer then the one from the EE firmware it wont let me install (SW B: 2 K: 4 S: 4) this means that the firmware I am trying to install is older and samsung bootloader wont let me, now I want to know if there is a way I can:
1) Downgrade Bootloader or get it to accept this firmware
2)Have EE WiFI calling another way
3)Install EE WiFi calling onto the phone somehow
My phone is on version 6.0.1

I would say look for a ee firmware that doesn't include the Bootloader. That way the firmware should load, most mm firmwares will run as long as you have a mm bootloader.

Hi,
Can I flash rom of G955F/FD to G955N, and why if not. cause I saw some Rom can flash G955X.
Btw, is there any way to edit MEID Cert without using Z3X Box?
Thanks!
Yes you can flash G955F ROMs. Just make sure you have the proper CSC file for your region, to flash after installing the rom,. Your Regional Sim card won't work without it. There are many tools in the S8 Developer section. Some of the Roms already have built in multi CSC files, so read the OP of each ROM you may be interested in.
DONT clean install the OREO release (like I did), as it locks the "OEM unlock option.

Thanks @Amd4life for the answer.
So after flash Rom G955FD, I can use dual sim function?
Do you know anyway to change MEID Cert without Z3X Box?
Yes on the dual SIM, with the correct CSC. I can't answer the second question, unfortunately
is there any way to do this and upgrade to oreo without breaking knox?
im on 955n with stock aql3 last update. and if there is a way to update without having to wait for oficial release for korean models, that would be amazing.

Hello amazing XDA devs,
I need a bit of advise and help with flashing oreo firmware on my device. I have already done a lot of research already but have failed to find any satisfactory answer. So here is my story,
I purchased my galaxy s8+ from korea. Model number is G955N. I wasn't able to get volte signal on it hence, rooted it and changed the csc to India.
In the process I also had to update my BL to AQL3.
I am now trying to flash an indian firmware on my korean device. i.e. installing SM-G955FD firmware on SM-G955N device. I undestand hardware of both the devices (korean and indian) are same. So, there should not be any problem in this cross flashing of firmware. However, ODIN doesn't allow this.
Here are my few queries which I hope you can help me with
1) Would it allow me to flash *FD firmware on *N device if I use prince comsy odin or some other custom odin?
2) Do I need to flash *N oreo BL if I decide to flash any other custom oreo rom which supports F/FD/N variants?
3) Where can I find *N oreo BL and AP to flash if only option is to install custom oreo rom?
4) If I flash oreo firmware for *N variant, would I loose my csc changes and I will have to start all process again to get back volte signal?
I know this is a long list of question. But, I am sure a lot of people have these queries and it will help all of them in understanding the process and upgrade their devices if these questions can be answered.
Would appreciate your help on this matter.
Thanks,
I got it..just flashed the oreo rom from twrp and everything seems to be working fine.
hello. which custom did you flash ? also need it. thanks
I have my G955N made 2 sims aleady.
I observed that the developer did the following steps:
1. They made it support 2 sims: IMEI guru software
2. They flashed custom that supported G955X:Renovate ICE in xda
3. They changed 1 slot sim tray with 2 slot sim trays.
4. I observed that BL and CP are of G955N but AP and CSC are else from G955X.
Thanks?.
Dear Folks,
I have one European S7 SM-G930F. I am in UK and VoLTE is not working with Vodafone. I think it has to do something with the fact that I flashed the Indian ROM in this phone, as VoLTE was not working when I was in India. Now that I am back in UK, I want to enable VoLTE.
I have few questions, need help guys :
1) Can I do this without erasing data?
2) If I only flash the HOME_CSC will it work? Link:https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7/SM-G930F/VOD/download/G930FXXU2ERG2/229367/
Currently:
AP: G930FXXU2EREM
CP: G930FXXU2ERD6
CSC: G930FODD2ERE2
Cheeeers
If you flash home_csc it won't wipe and should give you the functionality.
Otherwise there is a flashable CSC tool that you use with TWRP, but I dont think it has Oreo support yet.
Back to Square one
Thanks, I ended up flashing TWRP, which resulted in boot-loop as I did not wiped the data partition and somehow TWRP messed up with my current installation. With boot loop in action and no option I flashed the Vodafone UK ROM, which was a German ROM ( I Don't know why SAM MOBILE would do this) like a spy in British Army. Anyways so all that did not enable VoLTE still and Samsung Pay stopped working. After googling turned out Vodafone UK is very specific to enable VoLTE only on their supplied handsets only. After wasting lot of time, I finally decided to go back to original ROM, now it will take at least a week to set it up with all my apps. What an epic waste of time mate ! Thanks for reading if yer did

Yikes, I mentioned the TWRP method second, because it was an option, but it's not something you rush into. Always backup first, always read the full instructions.
TWRP trips Knox, which Samsung Pay uses, so you won't be able to use it again.
