[Q] Video Issues while gaming

hey guys,
been having issues for the last couple of weeks, after a while playing any game I seem to be having some part of the image going funny coloured which stops me from being able to keep gaming. it sounds like the gpu is overheating but the temperature of the CPU never rises above 30C so i'm confused.
anyone else having the same problem?
I'm running JB stock US rom.
thanks!

My device gets hot

Warm even just when watching YouTube video, anyone faces the same issue?
I guess you also have higher battery drain than normal and some lag am I right? I also had this issue, but for me at least, one factory reset somehow fixed everything. One week since then and I haven't had any problem again.

I don't have such issues you mentioned but I might try factory reset soon
No overheating issue so far. Have you installed some application that throttle your CPU?

Do you realize what you are talking about doesn't make sense right? Throttling the CPU will only make it cooler and no I don't have an app that does that
The only time I feel the xzp heating up is, when I'm watching 4K (HDR) movies. The movies don't lag, even when the device is hot. Haven't reached a critical state until know.
I have been using my xzp for about 2 weeks and haven't experienced and heating or lagging

Hello,
Exact same problem here.
I'm running latest LineageOS official.
What app are you using ? I can't find that one called "little" on the play store...

I using mtweaks app
Thx, well it's not exactly the same problem as you have since my CPUs are running in low power state when the phone is not used.
Anyway, when I start browsing the internet, the phone gets hot and when I'm playing games, it just gets super-hot. (not in charge while using it btw).
Previously, I had a Nexus 4 which is famous for its overheating problems, but the S7 is worse.
This, the ill placed speaker, the poor quality of the AMOLED, I'm so disappointment with this phone.

The AMOLED screen on the S7 was widely regarded as the best screen on a mobile phone when it was introduced.
You're running an unofficial ROM + kernel and running into problems and are blaming the phone? Lots of people seem to hold LineageOS up as the solution to all problems, but on many devices it seems to be a giant hack.
This screen is a piece of **** (mura effect & spots when lowering the brightness), my Nexus 4 screen is at least 10X better.
I'm running Cyanogenmod/LineageOS since the very beginning, never had this kind of problem before...
The S7 Exynos phones do tend to get a bit warm if you're browsing certain websites, Facebook and streaming, and it'll get hot if you're playing resource intensive games like GTA & Bully. That's what happens when your device's CPUs can reach a max clock speed of 2704MHz. Take a look at what apps are running in the background first.
I'm only able to read the battery temp sensor, no other sensor available despite having tried a lot of monitoring apps.
Idle temp : around 29-33°C
Heavy use : up to 45°C
Past 39°C, the phone gets really uncomfortable to use.
I did further testing with another S7 (carrier firmware, brand new), launched a stress-test app on both phones at the same time and after 15 min, mine is 4°C hotter (battery temp). It's not really relevant, maybe due to my tempered glass preventing heat dissipation or some LineageOS optimizations, I don't know. Anyway, the S7 feels way hotter than my previous phones.
it's strange that power user/advanced user have to complaining about overheating and comparing with other brand when they are running unofficial software and kernel. and i think the word 'overheating' is about the cpu/chipset not the battery. *correct me*

Irrelevant since the other S7 is running pretty hot too.

Yes but I only have access to the battery sensor. The frame is hot on both phone tough.
i have a snapdragon version of S7 and i don't think exynos version have overheating problem running on official firmware. running Oreo right now and still don't have such problem. and FYI using the phone INFO apps (google playstore), i can see the temperature of the cpu.

Yeah, I was looking on S10e teardown pictures and there is a plenty of copper inside, heatsink and copper foil - the heat is just being dissipated all over, that's how it supposed to work. In the past they didn't have any of that, there was always a very hot spot around the SoC and the phone would throttle down or worse, sometimes shutting off.
S10 also heats up especially when I was setting it up it was hottest I've ever seen a phone.
33C is not hot at all
Oooh, 33c, quick ring the fire brigade. Must be another Note 7 just waiting to burst in to flames. /s
Thanks everyone for clearing out my doubt. I guess i will familiarize with this thing now
Pubg stutters
Guys are u facing stuttering problems while playing pubg.
My s10e doesnt get as hot as my s10 I had but it still gets hot at times and upto 33. Nothing to worry about it would give you a warning If it got to hot. Playing games these phones heat up for saying they got a decent heat pipe in them
Yeah mine seems to be heating up as well I've noticed
Heating issue has been resolved in latest update
Mine has been heating up since a week or so and the phone is a month old.
It gets warm without any significant app load and temperature range is around 32 to 38 at that moment. (Checked using Accubattery app)
Also, a couple of observations from my end:
1. Usually happens when I am on 4G/LTE network. I will test on Wifi as well using the same apps.
2. Happens more while using specific apps - Reddit, Flipkart (India specific app)
3. Network signal is poor.
4. Ambient temperature is high (Peak summers here in India)
I did a "Wipe Cache Partition" 2-3 days back after reading some articles online - didn't help though.
It seems to be quite common with the Galaxy S10 lineup, many have reported their phones are getting warm/hot.
Any tips/suggestions are most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Apparently it's to do with the size of the device from what I've read. The current s10 series are slimmer and smaller with more powerful processors.
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Mine got up to 80 degrees Celsius flashing a custom ROM
