2.4 GHz WiFi and BT share the same antenna.
And since the A1 is a budget device it probably also shares the 2.4 GHz antenna with GPS

Guys where i find this update for twrp?

For me, before July update phone was heating alot while charging. Now after July update heat reduced significantly during charging. Did anyone noticed ? And thermals are quite improved for general usage after July update.

Battery life, to me, appears to be 10-15% better. Not a scientific test, just based on observation. I'm on 55% battery and 48+ hours since last charge. But I'm not a gamer - most phone use is Whatsapp and Smart Audiobook.

GPS signal seems weaker after the july update.

In mine also because of heat itself my battery backup was poor now after July update battery backup is far better.

[Q] Desire S with CM7 - Which radio?

I've noticed significant battery drain on all the CM7 ROMs available at the moment. Some users report better battery usage (6-7 mA) than others (anywhere between 14-70 mA), so my questions are:
1. what is your idle usage? Use battery monitor widget to find out
2. what radio do you use?
3. do you find mobile standby/cell standby always consuming the highest drain, even when you have been actively using your phone?

1. Iddle consumption seems to be at 7ma
2. 20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M
3. Android System is highest at 56%, Mobile Standby follows it with 16%.
I'm on Superkid's CM 1.3 + Tiamat 1.0.4.1 with 2G only, sync off and CPU at 652 min and 1190 max, smartass.
Not running cm7 myself running with lbc but weve also identified a battery drain issue recently, we have come to conclusion that its intermittent and happens when wi fi is enabled.

I'm using SuperKid's 1.3 + Tiamat 1.0.4.1 with 2G, sync off as well. However I'm using radio 20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.11_M, and my idle usage never drops below 14mA. I tried using the radio you use, however my idle fluctuated around the 20s and 30s with that. I'm so baffled as to why this is the case. Could it be dependent on the type of SD card?

I am experiencing drains regardless of the WiFi. Every radio I've tried except hte default one it came with (in the post above) the idle power usage fluctuates heavily. But no matter what it never drops below 14 mA. I'm trying to figure out why it never hits single figures like some people are getting. It's not intermittent, it just refuses to drop below 14 mA.

I'm not an expert for sure but please try the following as there'll be no harm anyway. Go into recovery, wipe cache + dalvic cache and then reflash Tiamat 1.0.4.1.
I wasn't doing any measurements before but I'm pretty sure that my battery drain used to be higher before I've done that. See if it helps.

Can you let me know if you did the boot image fix posted by NeoLojik after doing the above?
No, I didn't. I've tryed it at the earlier stage but since it broke wi fi I reflashed the original kernel (which was Carniab's test version at this time I think) and never got back to it.

Hi,
with CM 7.1.0 RC 1 and tiamat kernel v1.0.4.1, my Desire S consumption in sleep mode (no wifi, no bluetooth, Edge/3G enabled) is going down to 10-12 mA.
My best figure was with LBC mod 0.5.4 where it was 9 mA.
My radio is 20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M
Mobile Standby is 24% (which i find a bit weird too, with virtous/lbc never had that).
CPU is set to: smartass, 268-1036 Mhz
Overall i have no issue with CM 7 beta 1.1

Hi dj
The difference between our measurements could be due to us using different tools? I've been using Battery monitor widget which, as I've read today, tends to give inaccurate (lower than in reality) figures. I'm currently on 1.3.2 version of CM from Superkid and BMW was also showing 6 or 7 mA. So I've installed Currentwidget and it displays figure of 12mA in sleep mode. This isn't far off from what you get.

How do you check idle power on Current Widget? I just put it on my home screen using default settings, switched my phone to sleep for a minutes, then turned on the screen and it said 28 mA..
how about your battery?
is it a fake one?

Wi-Fi Optimisation Option In WiFi Settings.

Hi all,
Not seen a thread for this yet. Believe this is new to the 4.2 update as this option never existed previously.
In the Advanced Settings Menu for Wi-Fi you can see this box and it is checked on by default.
Can anyone with the ability verify what this does potentially? Might be useful in future development possibly?
Furthermore, I wondered that with all these TF700 Battery Usage threads there may be a potential error somewhere with the settings that having an adverse effect? This probably wouldn't be the first time something like this happend with ASUS.

Edit:
Side not noticed while trying to do some crude testing of this that there is a SIGNIFICANT improvement in battery life by turning brightness to SUPER IPS+ and then move the brightness down to a comfortable level, due the the extreme brightness the level can be very low 10-30 % and still easily bright enough

The battery drain is only proportional to the final brightness.

It gives your wifi adapter lets power, which in return, shortens your wifi range, but decreases battery consumption because I usually could walk around the house with full bars, but now its on optimization its quite a bit shorter, get 1-2 bars at most on porch(cheap router lol) but used to get almost full on 4.1.1 without the "optimization".

I truthfully dont know if you can decrease it, but there are apps to make your wifi range expands, which consumes more power but I would not tweak with the power, just either turn it on or off. It is there to help, Before there was no option so it can only help battery life.

How is the 7.0 upgrade overall compared to the XZ on Android 6?

Can anyone list the bugs they've found since updating to 7.0 from MM? Also, how is battery life and overall speed/smoothness compared to MM? I can't find any definitive info on this and as I'm happy with MM I'm loathe to upgrade but know that the update will auto-install one of these days.
better battery (at least on data for me )
smootheness is a bit better
and the ram management is hell better than before...
camera i belive is same
boot time a bit better
Totally agree with that adding the camera is enough good for my expectations (im not trying to win a photo competition) and it works even better in low light than 6.0 (just an impression)... Otg is workin very good...
Bugs? Need more testing time none by now?
The lack of mhl or any other video out alternative is killing me badly. Very dissapointed
No fm support by now also.
So it's just as fast and smooth?
No bluetooth/Wifi/signal issues?
No lag or freezing? Thanks guys.

If you just pull down the a row of icons, that's still tap to activate or deactivate.

Slow browsing on wifi then 3G

Hello,
I've got a great wifi strenght, copying big files from the wifi goes really fast, still, i've discover that browsing remain much much slower than 3G.
Multiple wifi has been tested, ping to their wifi is excellent (between 5-8ms).
It can take up to 4-5 seconds to charge a page no matter which browser i uses, if you have many little images, you see they loading peace per peace.
Reset has been done after Nougat update. I don't remember if it was the case before Nougat update.

Question Stuck on A09 rom anyone received OTA to android 12 / UI 3.0 ?

Got myself a realme gt neo 2 a few days back and got automatically updated to A09. My info says : RMX3370TW_11_A.09 which is weird as i bought the phone in Thailand (TH).
There is no Region option in the Language settings on my rom for some reason.
I have been trying to find the update to Realui 3.0 android 12 with a lot of VPN but no luck sofar
Anyone an idea how to get the update or is it maybe not released yet in this region ?
Thanks

mine is on RMX3370_11_A.09 and for me, the idle drain is present. Losing 2% every hour is a lot.
I think it will be a while for a.09 user to be updated to rui 3. I've got the same version but I change my rom to indian a.07, register for trial version c.03 and from then, got official c.04 android 12 update. So far its been great. The battery is okay. After updating, I recommend to clear data or factory reset and give it some time to adjust to your usage and update the system in background. It only consume battery for couple of days and got back to normal. Don't worry about it.

You need to let the phone charge to 100% and just leave it charged for 3 hours in order to let the phone optimize it after every update. I just found out about this recently.
My only issue with a.09 is for some weird reason realme underclocked the cpu. So there is performance hiccup especially if you play games like genshin.

hmm does the 100% chargee state is in powered on / off position?
Your 2nd point is valid though. I forgot exactly how Pcore and Ecore frequency range when battery temps reach 45-46C playing genshin, monitored via cpufloat app.
Funny thing is if you multitask genshin and then opening antutu benchmark, the cpu frequency went all the way to the max. When idle, this improve genshin impact fps by like 5-10 fps in cities like Liyue. As soon as you focus to the game however, the cpu then throttle back. For me, this is the same as cheating lol.

Powered on. Afterwards I left it with wifi on untouched while I sleep. Probably up to 8 hours.
Yea this is kinda cheating. My guess is realme get bombarded with complaint by indian user not getting a lot of SoT when playing BGMI, so they release this update unannounced to underclock cpu hence giving you the illusion you have a better SoT while playing games.
The reality is you're using half of what sd870 have to offer. Pretty stupid of realme if my assumption is correct, since gaming for mobile realistically on heavy games you should only expect up to 4 hours max. Honestly idk why realme is doing this. Even on rui 3.0 it os underclock.

allright, i usually unplug the phone when battery % reach 82. You know, the more you actually charge to 100%, the less charge cycle you got during the battery lifetime. However i will try your suggestion, see if it will improve the idle drain. If it's not, then i assume the idle drain is always present and will have to wait until the Android 12 arrive. If android 12 does not solve this issue, i guess i have to live with it. I remember owning a Poco F1 and that phone idle drain is like 2% per 8 hours! Which is a total contrary to 2% per hour lmao.
Realme did put some sort of limit on the cpu side, i think, especially in Genshin. You can let the phone be cooled by active cooler like blackshark fun cooler 2. You open the battery app and it reads like 22 C. You turn on the so called "GT Mode" and run Genshin Impact. And the performance figure? Well it performed more or less the same when the device run without the cooler. And even if you use the cooler, and lower the graphic settings to the lowest, it wont get any better since it was cpu limited. (at least, this is my experience while monitoring things)

Yep pretty much the same thing for me. It was actually fine on a.07, but a.09 is when I noticed the underclock. Btw I've just received rui 3.0, updating it now and I'll see how it goes. Will update on performance etc.
Hello. An input to OP from a Swedish user.
I got my phone 1 week ago and even though version A.09 (Android 11) and UI 3.0 (Android 12) is released and available in my region, the phone would not update, or even find any updates. I checked the IMEI via Realme EU site and the IMEI and region checks out correct as EU version.
I found a tip on a Swedish site, and following that, I am now happy with my phone running Realme UI 3.0/Android 12. Here is what I did - please note that at least this worked for my Swedish EU phone and I am not sure if it works in general:
Downloaded and installed a VPN apk from Google Play store (not sure if I am allowed to name any specific)
Established connection to France via VPN
Checked for firmware - the phone immediately found the A.09.
Turned off VPN and downloaded and installed the update. I found out that it was enough to have the VPN connection active while searching for FW - the update could then be downloaded without VPN.
Once A.09 was installed correctly I once again activated the France VPN connection and searched for new FW - immediately the phone found the Realme UI 3.0/Android 12. Followed the same procedure as 4) and the phone is now running the correct region version of Realme UI 3.0.
BTW - I factory reset after the UI 3.0 installation - very fluid experience so far.
Hope this is helpful to EU users who haven't got UI 3.0. Good luck

Good luck
