Bootloop after trying flashing kernel - Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi guys. Last days I decided to try out some custom kernel with my MIUI ROM. I installed Genom kernel after having some problems installing the wrong AOSP version, but finally found the MIUI version on Telegram. When I tried to restore my backup (stock kernel) with Pitch-Black recovery, I noticed that Wifi and Bluetooth weren't working, flashing original firware fixed bluetooth but no wifi, then I had to go back to Genom kernel. Today I found a supposed MIUI stock kernel in the Genom kernel thread, but after flashing it I have bootloop. I can't wipe data, because I installed the Pitch-Black recovery from a different way, without mounting data (I didn't want to lost my data), I installed root from external storage, now I see it was a bad idea. The only thing that lasts is to install the full MIUI ROM again, but I just found the MIUI 10.3.2 for download, my device was running 10.3.3, and I'm afraid I can't install it or it to not work. Can someone give me a solution?
EDIT: I managed to wipe the Data, now I have access to internal storage, but I also wiped the system partition, so now I have no system installed. If I reboot my phone it will brick?

Tried to download the MIUI 10.3.2 firware from Xiaomi site, it has 2.5GB, but the download always fails at 2GB. I tried to install Pixel Experience ROM and Havoc-OS, both give me "Updater process ended with ERROR 7". I don't know what to do, my phone is unusable.

Can't Mount System

I'm having trouble mounting the system on my Nexus 5. I initially had some trouble mounting the system when I first got the phone back in December. It took a few times to finally root the phone.
Last night, I downloaded a few Xposed Modules (nothing major, just minor tweaks) and restarted the phone. It would boot up and go to the lockscreen, but it would never progress beyond that (keeps rebooting).
I tried formatting the cache and dalvik cache. I had to reboot into recovery several times because it failed to mount anything, including the system. No dice.
I thought about trying to reflash TWRP Recovery and the Purity ROM I am on, but I can't seem to do that either in bootloader mode.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
What version of twrp are you using?
After a few hours of trial and error, I ultimately just did a Stock Rom / Unroot and downloaded/installed a new copy of TWRP, latest Purity ROM, and re-installed the ElementalX Kernel.
Everything is running smoothly now. Just have to remember to backup everything to my mac to avoid starting from scratch.

I think it you probably had an old version of TWRP.

I want Ivanich's CM12.1 ROM 😞.

Hello.
Recently I returned my HTC Sensation XE arranged, and seeing that it had no guarantee I decided to root it. After two days in which I almost lost the mobile after having bricked, I finally managed to unlock the bootloader (although I'm still S-ON), install the latest version of 4ext Recovery Touch and give root permissions.
What happens is that looking for an Android Lollipop ROM I saw there was only one type of ROMs developed by Ivanich, and others called UnoROMs but at the end also belonged to Ivanich. Both unofficial version of CyanogenMod 12.1.
Overall, I started to download and install CM12.1 ROM with GApps and entering in recovery, but nothing was installed. I deleted cache, dalvik, data and reset to factory, but all attempts were in vain. Or almost.
When I realized that something was wrong, I looked in the ZIP of the ROM, I entered in the "/system" folder and presto!: no sign of apps, data, or other things that I think should be to make it work, only was the 'build.prop'.
Finally I gave up and tried to install Ivanich's CM11 with the corresponding GApps, and everything was great (although WIFI, that is unusable). It turns out that this ROM itself had all the appropriate files in the '/system' folder.
I thought then that Ivanich's CM12.1 ROM would be an update of his CM11 ROM and I tried to install it with CM11 as the system at that time, and I got it, but it starts out a sign saying that I had no data on the phone and to make it work I need to reset to factory. I did it and nothing happened. The recovery remained caught in the process of reseting to factory. And so over and over again. At the end I reinstalled CM11 and tried to repeat the installation process of CM12 this time making an erased of dalvik, data, cache and factory reset (which I not did at the previous), but it didn't installed, and 5.1 GApps either. As usual.
Currently I have CM11 by Ivanich (KitKat 4.4.4) with GApps, but I can't use the phone because WIFI practically doesn't work. There is a ZIP to fix WIFI that I flashed and that was fine, but it didn't fix anything.
Please can someone explain to me why I can't install CM12.1 and 5.1 GApps and why this ROM has the '/system' folder empty. There are people that have been able to install this ROM, and I can't understand how they have succeeded.
Thanks to all who help me in advance.

[ROM][TWRP] Can't flash new ROM

Newbie here.
Background: I have my Samsung Note 10.1 GT-N8000 since 2012, but I haven't touched it for 2+ years because it was still on Android 4.1. (Last week Netflix announced that we could watch it offline with Android 4.4 up, so I eventually had the courage to do sth about my 10.1)
My problems:
I was using TWRP 2.4, flashed CM13 ROM and Gapps pico. It went well except all Google apps weren't installed properly:
- If I just flashed the CM13 ROM without Gapps, upon reboot it kept popping "Unfortunately Google Play etc stopped"
- If I flashed both, it was the same, plus all Google apps were labelled "com.Android" instead.
I searched for and tried all possible solutions, and in one old threat someone suggested TWRP version matters too. So I updated it to TWRP 2.8 (also tried 3.0). Now, I have a different set of problems. I can't flash in TWRP 2.8 the same ROM that I could flash with TWRP 2.4, and it keeps giving the "error executing updater binary in zip" I've tried it million times (literally fighting it for the past 18 hours...)
I've tried the followings: wiping system/ cache before flashing new ROM, starting the entire process, rooting it again etc.
Could anyone kindly chip in? Any suggestions are appreciated!!!
Try Philz Recovery .
Nonono...don't try Philz recovery. Use the recovery explicitly stated in the CM13 instructions (TWRP 2.8.7.0) or newer (I'm using 3.0.2.0). Do not use any recovery that the instructions say is not supported, which is everything else.

Given this and the apparent lack of following CM13 installation instructions (you didn't wipe everything), I'd suggest starting over with downloading/flashing the TWRP version on the CM13 downloads page and re-downloading CM13 and and Open GApps check MD5s. Maybe a standard Open GApps install would be a good idea; you can always uninstall what you don't want.
Not meaning to sound harsh but preferable to spending another 18 hours in Einstellung. (pun not intended)

Can't install Lineage OS properly; device freezes and reboots after startup

Hi people,
I've been struggling with this for the past 2 days and I'm trying really hard not to give up
I downloaded the stable rom from the MIUI website (for Mi Note 3 aka jason), installed it successfully via MiFlash, and tried flashing Lineage after I did a factory + data + system + cache wipe. It ended with me getting the dreaded error 7.
A bit later, I realized I had to get the dev build from the MIUI website and flash it before flashing Lineage OS. So I did - I updated to MIUI 10 using the dev build, made sure it was working and tried flashing Lineage OS on top of it (after wiping the partitions I mentioned earlier, following the Lineage OS instructions).
So eventually I got it to work - sort of.
Lineage OS is booting properly, but the device freezes before it can find any wifi networks to connect to (and then reboots), and that's why I think the culprit is the modem.
So, a few questions -
1. did it happen to anyone else? I searched endlessly but came up with nothing
2. If it is a modem issue - where can I find a working one? I looked it up and found nothing
3. If it isn't a modem issue - what should I do?
If I'm doing anything wrong - please tell me. I'm flashing custom roms since 2011 and this is the first time something like this has happened to me.
Thanks for all your help!
Hi, first of all you need an unencrypted phone - Format data in TWRP (3.2.3.1), then wipe system, data, cache, dalvik. Flash the Miui 10 china stable firmware 10.0.2 or 10.0.4, then rom, gapps and reboot.
Good luck, zaqm

Flashing custom rom not working (recovery loop - messy data folder) MiNote10 (tucana)

Hej everyone,
I flashed a custom rom from mi-globe a few months. It was working great. Then I had the not so incredible idea of updating with latest miui eu 12, because the weekly update from the update menu was not working. It kinda worked, but it got too buggy. So I wanted to come back to a xiaomiEU Stable Rom.
It is now that problems begin. When I flashed miui eu 12, I got recovery loop. Lost all my data trying to fix, but I was able to flash the stock rom via the amazing XiaomiADBFastbootTools in my GNU/Linux distro. It worked! But the main issue is can not flash the custom rom again. I download the custom rom in the internal storage, flash the twrp via fastboot, enter recovery, create full backup, wipe to factory reset and flash the custom rom. Everything seems successful, but then I get a recovery loop again and when I try to restore the backup, the data folder is filled with folders and files with random chars in the names. Apparently the data folder becomes read-only for some reason as well. Then I have to flash the stock rom and tried everything again. I have done it at least 5 times now. I have searched a lot for some solution and nothing works
I have tried the OrangeFox recovery and the mi-globe rom, same issue. I really want a custom rom , but I have no idea what to do anymore. If I could at least restore my backed up stock rom, it would help a lot.
Please help me out and sorry I posted in the wrong section.
