Hi people,
I've been struggling with this for the past 2 days and I'm trying really hard not to give up
I downloaded the stable rom from the MIUI website (for Mi Note 3 aka jason), installed it successfully via MiFlash, and tried flashing Lineage after I did a factory + data + system + cache wipe. It ended with me getting the dreaded error 7.
A bit later, I realized I had to get the dev build from the MIUI website and flash it before flashing Lineage OS. So I did - I updated to MIUI 10 using the dev build, made sure it was working and tried flashing Lineage OS on top of it (after wiping the partitions I mentioned earlier, following the Lineage OS instructions).
So eventually I got it to work - sort of.
Lineage OS is booting properly, but the device freezes before it can find any wifi networks to connect to (and then reboots), and that's why I think the culprit is the modem.
So, a few questions -
1. did it happen to anyone else? I searched endlessly but came up with nothing
2. If it is a modem issue - where can I find a working one? I looked it up and found nothing
3. If it isn't a modem issue - what should I do?
If I'm doing anything wrong - please tell me. I'm flashing custom roms since 2011 and this is the first time something like this has happened to me.
Thanks for all your help!
Hi, first of all you need an unencrypted phone - Format data in TWRP (3.2.3.1), then wipe system, data, cache, dalvik. Flash the Miui 10 china stable firmware 10.0.2 or 10.0.4, then rom, gapps and reboot.
Good luck, zaqm

Good day all,
for some time, i have been using the Mi Mix 3 CN version with Xiaomi.EU weekly Rom and i loved it.
Today, I decided to try install the Unofficial PE Rom witch can be found here (https://treble.andro.plus/pe.html)
I Followed these instructions (https://www.getdroidtips.com/pixel-experience-rom-xiaomi-mi-mix-3/)
For some reason i decided to do a full wipe ie. ;
Dalvik/ART Cache
Data
Internal Storage
Cache
System
I went to install PE ROM and upon completion, i was boot-looping and rebooting into TWRP Recovery 3.2.3-1205 for MIX 3 --by wzsx150.
In a panic, i tried reinstalling the weekly ROM again by doing the same steps above, and behold i am still getting the same problem.
Would someone please help me out here as for this is my only phone and need to get it back up and running.
Thanks in advance.

1. Flash the China dev vendor.img, or the full China Dev ROM, or Xiaomi EU (works ok with PE)
2. Install PE zip
3. Quick Wipe and format 'yes' in twrp
4. Flash Magisk
That's how I do it for all ROMs and GSI and works fine.
You'll get the China dev vendor IMG from the link on post one of the PE thread. You can flash it with twrp.
Always recommend to use the vendor IMG from China Dev instead of EU, especially with the GSI ROMs.
are you on global?
In twrp: factory reset then format data (hit yes to accept).
Reboot phone and reenter twrp.
Connect to computer and transfer xiaomi.eu rom onto root of device (I suspect any would work but I happen to have used 10.2.2.0.PEECNXM_v10-9 which is believe was xiaomi.eu stable release), pixel experience ROM zip and magisk-v17.3mod4mimix3
Flash the xiaomi.eu rom first then without rebooting or any formatting or factory resetting immediately flash the PE ROM zip and then magisk 17.3.
Once those three files are flashed via twrp go to wipe and the factory reset then format data again
this always works for me
thanks to @homer.ali
Works for the Mi Mix 3 coming from MIUI 11 EU

Thank you so much for these instructions. Coming from Global MIUI 11, I tried to figure out how to install PE for the last 2 days and every time I ended up being stuck in a bootloop. So far, I tried to install Resurrection Remix, Lineage OS and Evolution X without success.
Your instructions solved this issue. BTW: the only working version of TWRP for me was twrp-3.2.3-8-perseus-mauronofrio. After flashing this version, I was able to install the latest TWRP.
this always works for me

Do you (or anyone else in this thread) know whether these steps [install order: xiaomi.eu, rom, magisk | then: factory reset + wipe data] work for other custom roms on the Mi Mix 3 as well? >> Short answer: no. Tried it for the above roms. I always end up in TWRP (or bootloop) after flashing either way (the official or the on I 've tried here).
@chromanju did you solve this problem?
Hi guys. Last days I decided to try out some custom kernel with my MIUI ROM. I installed Genom kernel after having some problems installing the wrong AOSP version, but finally found the MIUI version on Telegram. When I tried to restore my backup (stock kernel) with Pitch-Black recovery, I noticed that Wifi and Bluetooth weren't working, flashing original firware fixed bluetooth but no wifi, then I had to go back to Genom kernel. Today I found a supposed MIUI stock kernel in the Genom kernel thread, but after flashing it I have bootloop. I can't wipe data, because I installed the Pitch-Black recovery from a different way, without mounting data (I didn't want to lost my data), I installed root from external storage, now I see it was a bad idea. The only thing that lasts is to install the full MIUI ROM again, but I just found the MIUI 10.3.2 for download, my device was running 10.3.3, and I'm afraid I can't install it or it to not work. Can someone give me a solution?
EDIT: I managed to wipe the Data, now I have access to internal storage, but I also wiped the system partition, so now I have no system installed. If I reboot my phone it will brick?
Tried to download the MIUI 10.3.2 firware from Xiaomi site, it has 2.5GB, but the download always fails at 2GB. I tried to install Pixel Experience ROM and Havoc-OS, both give me "Updater process ended with ERROR 7". I don't know what to do, my phone is unusable.
I unlocked my bootloader, installed the latest version of TWRP (3.3.1.0 iirc) and downloaded some Android 10 ROMs to try them out.
O tried AOSP Extender Superior OS and LineageOS 17, ALL Android 10 based, and they ALL installed Fine. The problem is that the recommended Gapps for these ROMS, WeebGapps, fails and doesnt flash.
So i tried the OpenGapps project, and It failed after saying i didnt have enougth space in the system partition, so i deleted the gapps-sizes.txt inside the zip and It finally flashes, but now the phone gets stuck at booting and never actually starts.
Has anybody experienced theses problems and maybe could give me some advice on How to get Gapps working for any of those New Android 10 ROMs?

Friend, you must first flash the ROM, then the Magisk and wipe dalvik cache. Restart, you already open the Magisk and from there you install the Magisk WebGapps. You restart and ready, the bad thing about this ROM is that it fails MMS, I still can't get a solution. regards

Thank you. I was able to flash the gapps doing that. I'm using the aosp extended rom because superior os wasn't showing the navigation buttons, even when I enabled them in the rom options.
Only thing I noticed so far is that I don't have mobile data working (WiFi is working ok)
Should I flash anything else to make mobile data working?
Hi guys,
long time ago i've already been a Member to XDA Community. HTC Wildfire was a brand new phone at that time. In the mean time i've switched to a Oneplus 2 running Lineage OS 17.1 and two years ago i got a Oneplus 6 running stock ROM till yesterday.
Yesterday i got Lineage OS with Wifi up and running fine with the official guide and official lineage recovery but forgot to flash OpenGapps in the first try. Tried flashing it again but got a Qualcomm Crashdump Mode Error after that.
So i went on to reflash the whole phone with clearing storage, system and so on. Flashed again now with OpenGapps and Magisk with reboot to recovery method described in official installation guide, Lineage was booting fine and tried to search for Wifi-Connection but i wasn't able to see any Wifi at all. I finished the setup and tried again in settings but System UI crashes if i try that. Rebooted, cleared Cache and tried again but nothing.
So i went back to full stock 10.3.0 with MSMDownloadTool but it only flashes partition a? Is that correct?
After a lot of trying different things got back to 10.3.5 on a and b partition with mauronofrios stock fastboot roms from https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-6-t3796665 (Thank you very much for that! :good: ). I can boot both slots if i switch them in booted twrp without any problem.
On stock everything works fine my wifi detects all available networks and i can connect to them without problems.
What did i do wrong?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
Schwaus
EDIT:
So i did a little bit more testing:
Installed lineage-17.1-20200804-nightly-enchilada-signed.zip with corresponding recovery without anything like Gapps or Magisk both like described in official instruction and with TWRP from mauronofrio. I also tried to flash latest official OTA from Oneplus via TWRP before flashing Lineageos. In neither of the tested ways Wifi is working and i cant see any Wifi-MAC-adress under settings. Also tried to switch back to stock before flashing with flash-all-partitions.bat from mauronofrios stock to get the persist partitions replaced too.
Every version of Stock like the MSMDownloadtool 10.3.0 or Stock 10.3.5 from mauronofrio Wifi works perfectly without problems. I also can update via OTA without issues. I just dont know what is happening with my Wifi firmware when flashing LineageOS.
EDIT 2:
Got the problem fixed:
Don't know if i done it right but maybe it helps someone.
In my case it was a combination of problems:
- First the latest Oneplus 6 Lineage releases (20200804 and the withdrawn 20200811) seem to have a bug when installed fresh on a device to cause a bootloop so i used the one from 30/06/2020 and updated with the app afterwards.
- Secondly the copy-partitions.zip script hasn't copied all of the partitions necessary. In mauronofrio's fastboot image there is a image named fw_4u1ea.img. This one got not copied by the script, so i booted twrp-3.4.0-1-enchilada-Q-mauronofrio.img and flashed all of the images (fastboot, persist and critical) to slot b again manually like described in his thread. The flash-all-partitions.bat has not worked either.
Now LineageOS works like a charm and i can see and connect to every wifi.
Hey mate. I had the same issue and I gave up at this point. Tomorrow I'll try your "EDIT 2:" and gonna leave a feedback
Hey Schwaus, thanks for this post. *EDIT 2* worked for me
I have successfully installed LineageOS what feels like a hundred times now. I followed every single piece of advice and best practice. In total frustration I gave up LineageOS and followed every single step for an OctaviOS installation. I even flashed the newest Global stock firmware successfully, just to follow every recommended step.
I boot into OctaviOS, after successful installation and...
Wi-Fi still won't turn on.
I am completely out of ideas and I have no idea what to do about it. Going back to stock and using this in production is not an option.
I have installed TWRP 3.4.0-0 By mahajant99 and every ROM flash and partition wipe, worked as expected and I never encountered a serious error. All flashes went fine and everything was done exactly step by step, as the guides recommended. Still, no Wi-Fi.
What can I do to fix this?
P.S.: Wi-Fi works through stock ROM. So no hardware issue.

To test, I followed the guide and installed this precise FW+Vendor image. Doing this, I cannot boot into a custom ROM (e.g. OctaviOS), at all. I repeated this test several times, to exclude possible installation errors. I did CLEAN flashes and installations. Still, it makes things worse. As already said, I can't even boot into the ROM.

Better just try another rom... They are all still AOSP and uses same kernel as NitrogenOS does. Better use EvoX or RR or Pixel Experience ROM... They're more polished and expect to also have great updates... Just wait for more stable Android 11 Custom Roms or just contact the OP of the OctaviOS for surya...

Even IF another ROM would work -- why doesn't this ROM work on my phone? What's so special about my phone? I have a plain brandnew POCO X3 NFC, like most others here. So why wouldn't it work? Does the firmware version have anything to do with it?
Every guide I read, explicitly recommends version "12.0.3". However, the newest version is already at version "12.0.4". Maybe this is causing the issue?

Maybe, have you also even tried installing fw 12.0.3? Because at the meantime, no developer has compiled the public kernel of poco x3 to their respective roms... They still use the kernel from the first miui rom... Idk whats really the difference on stock kernel vs the released kernel for surya because in my situation, everything works fine on installing roms. My device is surya, 6/64gb... Plain just like you... Idk why devs couldnt even fix this thing...
Sorry bro I can't help you with this, I'm just an ordinary kid being new to this stuff and have a little experience with this (still I'm a fast learner) because I only experienced much more customization on the Poco X3 than even other phones I have owned previously. I did not also learned coding (i was a rookie HTML coder past years but i forgotten it) like Java or scripts on Linux to compile and make compatible custom roms for phones... Peace
I did the following steps:
Flash "surya_global_images_V12.0.3.0.QJGMIXM_20200925.0000.00_10.0_global" with "MiFlash 2020.3.14.0".
Wipe Cache, Dalvik.
Flash "OctaviOS-v1.2-surya-20201109-2033-VANILLA-Official".
Flash "Magisk-v21.1".
Format Data.
Reboot into System.
Wi-Fi is working!!
Now only NikGapps is missing, but that is just booting into Recovery, flashing and booting back into System, so no problem here, anymore.
Thank you, @yan2xme! You say you are noob, but you had the right guess, too! Anyway, thanks for your help, I appreciate it!
P.S.: Boot-up is additionally much faster, smoother and without SystemUI crash on startup. This 12.0.4 firmware really sucks!
