Hi, the phone overall is working fine but I am not liking its microphone. It is too low, even when recording. Do you guys also have the same issue?. I flashed EU ROM as well, but still the same

My HTC Touch Pro seems to have a bad quality loudspeaker - It sounds quiet and distorted. I tried a new "AudioPara" file, which made it a bit louder, but it still sounds a bit distorted. The normal earpiece you use for phone calls is perfectly fine, I'm just having issues with the loudspeaker. Any ideas?
Is it like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446668 ?
If so, I'm with you.
First of all I am sorry if there is thread with same issue but I couldn't find it.
My problem is not in tinny sound or no sound at all. It is problem that during calls sound from earpiece is distorted and I can't hear clearly what are people saying to me. This distortion is present every time even on speakerphone. On headset sound is clear.
I don't know when exactly that began but it was somewhere around when I S-OFF the phone with AAHK and installed IceColdSandwich.
First I thought it was earpiece and replaced it, but the problem remains. Then I notice that when I turn on speakerphone while headset is plugged in the sound in earpiece is clear. I also tried to play music without headset and noticed that in this case also sound is clear in earpiece. (on speakerphone and when I listen to music sound is also reproduced in earpiece besides loudspeaker on the back of the phone).
So I concluded that it is problem with some mics. Then I noticed that main difference between DHD and Inspire 4G is dual mic (mic near flash) so i then tried several ROMs for Inspire and DHD, with or without inspire mod fix and also stock GB ROM. I also flashed several radios (12.39a.60.19x_26.06.06.30, 12.56.60.25x_26.10.04.03_M, 12.69.60.29_26.17.14.11_M) but no avail.
I think that it seems to be software issue but I don't know what radio or ROM to try.
Did anyone have this issue or knows how ti fix it?
Hi all
Picked up a Nexus 5 recently (latest model latest revisions) and love the phone but am having issues with the earpiece quality.
I have to constantly move the earpiece/headset around to hear the person and find the "sweet spot", or they fade in and out.
Also I notice a hiss at times.
Reception and earpiece quality overall just don't seem good.
I have iPhone 5, galaxy s4, and htc one and none have these issues.
I am on rogers wireless in Montreal.
Does anyone else have these issues ?
Any idea how I can resolve them ?
Some have suggested changing kernel ?
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance

I have the same low earpiece volume problem.
So i use my phone a lot for voice calls and here's what I've found:
1) Prior to the android update (in stock 4.4.0) the earpiece in-call volume was ok. However the microphone was bad. Meaning other people always complained that i sound very far off and they couldn't hear me clearly. But I could still make calls without using a headset.
2) After 4.4.2 update, the microphone issue seems to be resolved. People tell me that they can hear me better. However the earpiece in-call volume is much lower than before. I can only hear people if I am in a very quiet room and even then I have to strain.
The only way to use the phone for calls is to use a headset (both wired and bluetooth work). The other day I was using my old Samsung Galaxy S3 for a phone call. The difference in clarity for phone calls is night and day. I had to actually lower the volume of the S3 because it was so loud and clear.
At this point, I am not sure whether it's my Nexus phone and a hardware defect. Could it be something that google did in the 4.4.2 update (meaning fixed the microphone, but lowered the in ear volume). Furthermore using a headset at max volume sometimes distorts the audio.
The funny thing is that with the 4.4.2 update the phone speaker is better and louder. However the earpiece for making calls is just plain lousy. I can't take calls unless I am carrying a headset with me.
Installed Nougat the other day. I always thought mic sensitivity was a tad on the low side with G5 but since Nougat, I noticed that mic is jacked up, way too much. I do lots of voice exchanges on Whatsapp and since Nougat, my voice sounds too loud compared to the usual volume for everything else that the speaker plays back, and it sounds like it's going to clip. I don't think it's a Whatsapp thing since the only thing that changed was the upgrade to Nougat.
Anyone notice?
I noticed this too... before it was too low now too high, Can't catch a break
Volume through the speaker and ear piece are extremely low compared to the stock phone. Unable to make calls with ear piece as I cant even hear the other person. and speaker volume while playing media is extremely low and quality is very poor. Sound Quality used to be the best feature of this phone, now only sound through earphones is Good. anyone else experiencing this ?
Even I have observed the same since the first update. I am thinking to downgrade and going back to stock.
Which version is good?
just out of curiosity, is the sabre dac enabled in this??
