Replaced the battery and now its temperature is stuck on 25C° - Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus Questions & Answers

i recently replaced my battery. there was a MI logo on it and written BM37 but i don't think it is original. Its not the same as the one that came out of the phone. Battery life is good though. The problem is, ever since the phone temperature seems broken. CPU temp and other stuff is pretty normal but battery temp is stuck on 25(sometimes 24). I have never seen it above this level even though i m sure it did rise. I tried global beta, eu rom and currently using stable miui10. I wonder if it affects the thermal processes of the phone or cause any damage due to overheating since it always says 25C°. And also wonder if it's totally about the new battery or something can be done with software. thanks.
Also also, could you tell me which of the values in the 'thermal' section of CPU z can i consider as device's temp instead?(for some reason i m unable to upload any ss for now, but will do)

just don't screw the bottom screw back to your phone so you have quick removal if sth goes wrong...
all chinese replacement battery got no temp sensors, they only placed 10K ohm resistor in the sensor's place, therefore stuck temp reading...
Mine also like dat but the battery's life is wonderful, brands: Life Future...
Never get the one that looks like original, coz it will never be original battery... actually its worse than my currently broken battery... so I get Life Future (I specifically mention this brand coz I have used their battery & its great)...

My replacement battery stuck at -25, and wont charge because of that, i pay it 25 euros and wont buy another one... Is anyone find solution to bypass battery thermal sensor to actualy chare the phone?

-25C means the battery's broken... you should ask for replacement for that....

Just wondering how much more SOT you get from this new battery compared to the old original battery.

Droid maxx battery problem

hey there!
the title is right! i have a serious problem with my maxx's battery.
i searched in xda forum but i couldn't catch any same results. first i should tell u that i'm not living in U.S so I'm not using 4g LTE...
my droid maxx battery is draining really fast. it can't stand more than a single day of normal usage, the same results of the ultra. I'm not using any mobile networks,I'm just using wi-fi for internet connections. but the result on battery monitoring says that the screen is draining battery, which i dont use it really much! in the battery section in setting, screen used about 46%!!! for example i just unlocked the phone for checking it's battery,2 times in just 30 minutes, and each time the screen went on,the battery percentage got down by 1%. I was using a droid maxx HD before, its battery could run for more than 3 days for me on a normal usage! but my maxx barely goes more than a single day. what can i do? change battery? or any changing in software?
i'm on 4.4 android,not rooted.
i should add that it's about 17 hours which i'm on safe mode,in this 13 hours i was sleeping about 9 hours.and when i started on safe mode it had 62% of battery. now it's 42%!!!!!
sorry for bad english,
thanks for helping
Have you thought about switching batteries?

I bought the phone from ebay everything of the phone works normally and it does not get hot. and how can i know if the battery is original or not? (i used a program to get the battery details...it did not give me the result about a fake battery.)
should i open the phone?
(I'm not sure about this, but i think battery is original, cause in motorola forums i read some similar problems...but they changed their phones in verizon stores, which i don't have access to them)

I wouldn't open the phone up to check. if the phone has a removable back on it that you can take off to look and see if the manufacturer has put their name on it. Otherwise, there isn't a good way to check I guess. Sorry
is there any software which can check this out?
Well, you can buy a new battery on ebay, that's what I'm going to do, I'm using an Ultra battery for now, the XT1080M batteries are between 30-35 on ebay, and I consider it very cheap for the capacity.

you know,it's a good choice, but if i buy a battery,i have to change it by myself...so i should open the back of the phone by myself...and as u can see i live in iran,it takes about a month to recive the battery. so if i have to order a new battery, I have to make sure about the battery..any ideas for knowing the originality of battery by any software?

Not that I am aware of. You would have to buy a new battery and see if it helps. I suggest a Mugen battery. Have a great weekend!
battery is original
Well, they said that the way to calibrate the battery is use it until is depleted, then... when its off connect it to the wall charger and don't turn the phone on until the battery icon marks 100%, turn it on and it is supposed to be calibrated, or I don't know...
For the battery swapping, you need the Motorola EU40 battery, thats the MAXX one, a Torx 3 screwdriver, a Torx 5 screwdriver and a plastic prying tool... you can search in Google on how to open the Droid Ultra/Maxx and it's easy, if you have the correct screwdrivers of couser... Good Luck!

It's fine, just drain until it ships off by itself. Plug it in and charge to 100% with the phone off the whole time. . I do this once a month to Calibrate the battery and it helps. Never had a problem
I have original battery of droid maxx 1080 , best timing 3500mah only 1100 pakistani rupees , location peshawer contect# 03429345276

Charging slow - Can't charge to 100% [Solved]

The problem is the middle pin on the battery connector (on the motherboard) which reads the battery temp is damaged, so only slow charging for me. the battery connector/pin is too small to resolder without the proper tools and no one is selling a 32GB Nexus 5 board currently. The few I saw last week were like $100 :crying: so can't fix for now.
OP is below
-------------------------------------------------
Hey XDA'ers,
Not sure what's wrong with my N5, the phone is charging extremely slow. the icon on the notification area shows the phone as charging. In the battery settings it says the phone is not charging. Also using apps like ampere tell me....
battery health: cold
temperature: -30C
Voltage: 3.9 - 3.95 range [normal voltage is 3.8 so seems fine]
the behavior is consistent across all ROM's, stock, etc. . and the phone only charges in bootloader mode (still slow at that) any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks
What value of current ampere shows you??
Did you try by changing charger or data cable??

value of current? I don't see that as a option. and many charger and cables they all work on other phones but the issue remains on mine.
At low battery voltage should be at about 3.6V and current drawn should be around 1150 mA. As voltage increases i.e. full charge voltage should be around 4.5 V and current drawn at 90% of battery should be around 900mA.
So just check values by app Ampere.

You are correct and it could be either of the 2 actually. In my case I noticed the middle battery connector on my nexus 5 motherboard is bad so that explains why I can't get it to charge properly.
The problem now is I haven't been able to find a replacement 32GB board at all, not even ebay........ so I'm gonna make another thread to ask for some help with that.

Damn. Did you damage it like if you were replacing battery? Guess i have to remember to be careful if i replace mine. Btw found the thread, may not help you if the pin is like not even attached anymore but anyways here it is http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/battery-issue-charge-cold-t3100267
Edit: And here is iFixit mother/logicboard, don't if you get extra customs/fees if you don't live in USA. Not even sure do they send them from USA, or do they have like EU stock or something. No idea. And not sure if it even is worth the price. link: https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Parts/Google-Nexus-5-Motherboard/IF293-004-1
Edit 2: Aand they are out of stock.
Edit 3: You could try also to find slightly damaged n5 with working mobo but again need to think is it worth is and such. Could try also to sell the parts you didn't use from it.

thanks for the advice, I removed the connector like once but gently. Our battery connector (N5) is super cheap. and reconnecting is possible with good soldering equipment, which would be better since that is the only issue. and I don't have money for anything now so I can try solder or buy another board.
or sell it for parts which might be the case for me.

Battery Replacement

Hello there I think my battery has damaged it is showing unusual behaviour my phone switches off with 5-10% left I thought it might be a calibration issue but I've calibrated it many times the problem still persists also when I charge it in switched off condition the charging starts from 14% instead of 0. I've decided to replace my battery so I've a little query since Mi4i and Mi4c are identical can I use Mi4i's BM-33 battery instead of Mi4c's BM-35 ? Does anyone know please respond to my query.
Thanks in advance☺
No, they are not the same voltage. Get BM-35

Mi4s: BM-38
Mi4c: bM-35

Yeah I've seen that too but mi4s is 1 millimeter wider than mi4c I don't think BM-38 will fit into Mi4c. Mi4i's BM-33 will surely fit but I don't know if they have same connector or not :/
I wouldn't replace my battery for such a behavior. Have you ever tried physically recalibrating the battery? Or did you use an app?
In case you didn't, let your phone almost run out of juice, then plug charger in and switch it off. Let it charge for 2-3 hours (depends on your charger Amperes) or something more, then turn phone on while still plugged in.

Actually I'm from India so I bought it from eBay India.
AliExpress might have original ones btw where did you buy ? Check AliExpress they'll definitely be having original ones
no, you can't buy original/genuine ones anywhere - the ones on aliexpress/ebay are better or worse replacements
I've bought one since I've got shutdowns at 25-30% , but the replacement is worse - after a month or two when I enjoyed the fact of having no random shutdowns, the capacity was dropping and I'm back to my original battery
try using slow charger (non-QC2.0) - after a couple of charges with 5V/1A sudden shutdown problems vanishes

the battery of my nexus 4 go mad should i change it

Hello Guys
today my phone i don't know whats happening
the battery be 50 and go 70 and then go 2 so i don't know whats happening should i replace battery or what
i install (Ampere) app and tell me the health of battery is good so i don't what i should do
I would replace the battery. Battery is cheap on ebay even they are likely to be faked. I replaced batteries both of my Nexus 4 with those potential fake one. The temperature sensor isn't working on one of them so I know it is faked. But it doesn't give me trouble so far. I bought three from three different sellers.

Hello,
I've got the SAME problem with my Nexus 4 this week.
I'll try to say what happened (and I didn't resolve this yet)
First of all, it is shuting down my N4 all the time. I need to keep it at charged.
I tried to change my battery with a friend (with N4 too) and the problem persists.
I tried to change our USB modules, without success.
At this phone everything is working alright, even with battery (so it isn't a battery problem).
I cannot charge my battery or calibrate it. I charged my battery at his N4 and put at my N4: "74% battery" (it was 100%).
My gauge do some crazy jumps. It's like "15%, 76%, 100%" and when i put it off "100%, 44%, 2%".
NOTE: I tried to calibrate several times.
It keeps shuting down at normal use.
This problem occurs -at the first time- when I was at Android 5.1.1 (Chroma ROM). I changed to Android 6.0.1 and it still not working.
At charger works very fine.
At "TWRP" it works fine too (don't shutdown)
I REALLY don't know what can I do.
Now, i'm will install a Stock Rom just for science.
I have this problem(random shutdown, random reboot, when plug in battery dance) too. 6 six month ago I changed battery because phone battery drained as ****,so I used my phone only when plugged in (battery wasn't charging, just keep charge) and one day I used my n4 too long without charging, so battery drains. n4 died till I changed battery.
Everything stock, android 5.1.1 LMY48T, still hoping for OTA updates.English isn't my mother language, so will be pleased if you check it
Now I think about buying new phone. As for me its to much change battery one more time. Or itsnt batterys' fault?
I got back the Nexus 4 from a relative because she got a new phone. Also a cousin had a nexus 4. The batteries are terrible. Its been over 3 years so this was expected. I'm hoping the new battery will give it respectable SOT. Right now it just randomly dies at 50% or higher. And I have to wait for it to really die before I can bring it back to life. Its got the RED LED of Death.
Got to say, its a beautiful phone still. Forgot how nice it was
i buy new battery now its work fine

Beware! The majority of batteries sold on ebay are fake! You can identify them by the look: their print on the label is not white, it's more like a dirty grey. Also they are smaller (1-3mm) in length and width. Also they lack a temperature sensor and constantly report a temperature of 22-23°C. A quick check with a hairdryer will reveal it. Don't install these fake ones. I did twice and both failed within less than 100 cycles. Runtime was poor and they were swollen so much they lifted away the back cover!
I just got a Nexus 4 that my mother was using and installed CM13 and now Lineage 14.1 for my father to use. I'm also facing these random shutdowns.
On my last charge, I charged to 100% without any problem and left the phone in standby for a day and a half which took it down to 89%. I then used it last night to give it some SOT and left it at 74%. Just before going to bed, I pressed the power button and nothing. With a long press the phone booted and reported the battery at 73%. Waking up this morning I expected to press the power button and find the phone on something like 67%. Once again the phone had shut down and when I booted, the battery was on 2% and shutdown itself down straight after boot.
If the battery performance is rubbish, I can accept that due to the age of the phone. What I cant accept is totally inaccurate battery reporting and shutdowns. :crying:
I replaced the battery of my Nexus 4 yesterday, purchased from AliExpress. I suppose it is a fake one. The battery was too big to fit into the enclosure. I had to force it to let it fell into place. Finally it fell into place and it was connected, the phone won't turn on. The phone has given only a red led of death for about 12 hours. Probably it means a battery failure. I don't think the cheap batteries are in good condition and I don't think they're safe either.

I think the best chance to get an original battery is to purchase a battery from spareslg.com. The price of the battery is a bit too high in my opinion: 22,60 euros at the moment. A second hand nexus 4 costs approximately 60 euros, 80 euros tops, in the Netherlands. I don't know how much a second hand nexus 4 costs in Turkey. Perhaps it's better to consider a second hand nexus 4 and use your old nexus 4 for spare parts. A known issue of the nexus 4 is that the digitizer will stop randomly and the glass at the front and back of the phone is fragile.

Extended battery 11800MAH for the NOTE 4

Hi everyone,
i just wanted to share my experience with a battery from TQTHL built with the latest 2017 battery technology.
it's the most powerful battery i've ever seen for the note 4, insane 11800mah and when i tested it i got 12130MAH out of that battery so even more than the claimed 11800mah.
i tried the zerolemom 10000mah and the hyperion 9600mah but so far this is the best battery i've tested.
the battery comes with NFC and a good case cover...
just google TQTHL 11800mah or you can see a youtube video testing too
UPDATE 10/08/2017
check post 30 below for screenshots and insane battery settings
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73299611&postcount=30
Overall the note 4 is the only phone capable of having this battery life, i got 6 days of normal usage out of that battery.
Thank you, could you post som pictures for battery and SOT ?

I actually just got that battery. Can you please walk me through your settings?
@aminofgodseeker I'm currently on the MoDestRom v9 ROM, and am using the ZeroLemon battery. I'm on my second ZeroLemon, as my first one seemed to not be charging/discharging correctly any longer. I bought it maybe a month and a half ago and I recently just discovered this battery. Wish I had waited.
My ZeroLemon battery, I've drained it to 0% while on this ROM, and the ROM author had released a kernel that supports the ZeroLemon battery. It seems to calibrate well, as there are no 1% issues. I wouldn't know if the same setup would work for this higher capacity or not.
To give you an idea of how well my ZeroLemon battery worked one day, I essentially unplugged my phone at 7:30 am, used it more or less for 4 hours just searching the internet and then playing offline games while i was on a 2 hour plane ride, and then using it for another 5 hours for a car triip (with Google Maps). 15 hours later of extremely heavy usage, full screen brightness, not being plugged into power, I was down to 21%. I doubt a stock battery can handle that. Not only that, prior to the Verizon variant being unlocked, I'm pretty sure I would've gotten to 3% much sooner, had to deal with the dimming, and I would've survived on 1% for a very long time.
So maybe give that ROM a shot if you have this battery and see what you think. I'm sure if there was enough interest, if necessary, the author would modify his kernel to work with this battery.
Beware This battery doesnt have the NFC chip. My battery is going back to Amazon.
Does anyone know of a reseller who will ship to Australia? Everyone I've found so far seems to be US-only and my Zerolemon is dangerously bulging!
I'm very curious about this battery. Can that has this battery tell me, how loose the charging cable connector is when using this battery? I'm on the ZeroLemon battery at the moment, and while the battery works fine, the charging port isn't very secure, as the insides are wobbly.

There is no reason for the battery to have any effect on the USB socket of your phone. I also have the Zerolemon battery on my Note4. The case that comes with this battery gives you full access to the charging port without any obstructions.

With your ZeroLemon vs the stock battery, is the charging port more loose?

Like I said before, there is no effect on the charging socket of your phone when using one of these batteries with their case. It is impossible for the battery to cause your charging port to feel or become loose. Something else is wrong with your phone. It's not the battery.
Can somebody else test the NFC in the battery?
