Many apps crashing on startup - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I have just installed LineageOS 15.1 + GApps Nano on my Huawei P8 Lite 2017 and I have the following problem: Many apps (e.g. Google Calendar) crash on startup.
Here is a logcat of a Google Calendar crash: http s://pastebin.com/raw/0R215mKK (You have to fix the link, it didn't allow me to post a real link)
Is there something wrong with my /data partition?
When I look into /data/user/0 using TWRP, I only see weird folders with names like "0pOkmd35rGfU....", but nothing like com.google.android.calendar.
Is that common for that folder?
Most apps crash on startup like Google Calendar or Google Chrome, but all preinstalled software works fine and additionaly all software works that I installed before the first reboot, e.g. Whatsapp or Telegram.
Almost all apps that I install now, crash immediately on startup except for a few (e.g. KDE Connect).
Any ideas, what could be wrong with my device?

Sounds like bad G-Apps or a bad ROM flash
Did you perform a full wipe? Do so if not.
Try different G-Apps.

Try a smaller Gapps package. Or try using the advanced wipes in TWRP to wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache, then flash your ROM and Gapps.

[Completed] Google Play Store not recognizing some stock apps, duplicates?

Hello, this is my first post here at XDA.
After I (clean) flashed CM13 snapshot 20160820 and OpenGApps Pico, I noticed that some apps (Clock, Calculator, Phone, Contacts) did not show as installed in the Google Play Store. This was bugging me, so I decided to install the same apps, from the Google Play Store to see if the stock Clock, Calculator, Phone, and Contacts apps would show as installed. Instead, I ended up with two versions of the same apps, except the play store versions were updated. I used SD Maid to uninstall the stock Clock and Calculator apps, but I'm still stuck with two versions of Phone and Contacts... I read I cannot uninstall the (older) stock versions because my phone would not be able to make calls or access my contacts. This is a minor issue, but I hope someone can explain why this happens. I hope I was clear enough. Since I'm a newbie, I cannot provide a link to a screenshot of my app drawer.
I have updated my ROM to CM13 nightly 20161218 and OpenGApps Pico to the 20161217 release

Greetings and welcome to assist. The phone and contacts I would leave alone, the other apps were probably the same just with a different signature which is why they do not show up in playstore. If it is an issue you can reflash the rom then install minimal gapps and install everything else from the playstore
Good Luck

Chrome apps refusing to work

My main issue is in the screenshot below.
"Chrome failed during startup with an unexpected error."
This shows when I open the app and it won't go away, restarts don't help, anyway...
What I've tried to fix it:
Different Chrome apps, regular, beta, dev, canary. arm and arm64 versions.
Cleared dalvik and cache in TWRP.
Cleared all data from Webview, Play Services, Google Partner setup
Of course deleted all data from all Chrome browsers.
Thanks in advance!
It was a ROM bug.
I've the same problem, how can I solve it? thank you in advance

[Root] Issues with Facebook app and Play Store on Android 7.1.1

Hi,
I have an Xperia XZ dual sim (F8332) with :
An unlocked bootlader
Android 7.1.1 (build number 41.2.A.2.199)
AndropPlus Kernel version 3.18.31-v24
TWRP version 3.0.2-4,
Root with SuperSU v2.79
All flashed with Flashtool, following this wonderful guide : https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/how-to/how-to-unlock-bl-kernel-twrp-root-t3541648
I have noticed that when my device is rooted with this configuration, after about a day (variable), I encounter two problems :
- Facebook app : no more refresh possible. I still have notifications but when clicking on them they lead to nothing. After a couple of try, the app becomes unusable, tells me to refresh as if I was offline and nothing happens. On my device, Facebook is shipped with the phone as a factory application. So is Twitter, but is seems to be OK so far.
- The Play Store works (I can download apps) but I don't have any images : no thumbnails, no screenshots... Only text and green layouts.
I tried to flash again Android 7.1.1 without wiping datas (restoring default kernel and voiding root), the apps work normally again. I assume this has to deal with the custom kernel or the root.
Solutions I tried (but failed) :
1)
boot in recovery mode
wipe dalvik/cache
reboot
wipe cache & datas from : Google Play Store, Google Play Services for Instant Apps, Services Google Play, Facebook
2)
log out from Facebook / Google account and log again
3)
uninstalling Facebook and Google Play with a root app uninstaller
install them again the usual way
So far I don't have more idea of what the problem might be. Do you encounter the same issues or have any idea about it ? Tell me if you need more information.
Thank you.

Cannot flash OpenGapps

I rebranded my phone to AL10(chinese) which came pre-installed with only three Google apps: Google Play Services, Google Account Manager, Google Services Framework. I installed Play Store manually through an apk. But I'm getting frequent crashes, can't use Google Payment etc. etc.
So, I thought about flashing clean Gapps which might solve these problems and save me from installing the whole bunch of Google Apps. But it gives me error everytime I try to do that:
I thought the size might be the issue so I downloaded the nano version but it gave me the same error.
You need to repair your system partition. You can try that in twrp. Go to wipe. Advanced wipe. System partition. Resize/change file system. Resize file system. SHOULD fix it

Do NOT flash OpenGapps on Stock ROM.
Install Play Store through the in built Huawei Market and not through any external APK.

Won't my entire ROM get wiped out that way?

Shouldn't. But since hack has installed the beta already, you should go with his advice instead just in case.

App install problem

I recently started using a G3 again and I have flashed different roms and had the same problem (currently on the latest pie Pixel Experience) . The problem I have is that some apps won't install (Snapchat, FB, IG) I've tried clearing caches, data, removing and readding my Google account with no luck. I've tried installing the apks but they either don't install or they do install but won't work either see the app as a package name or they disappear and then I'm unable to install or update the apps as it says another user has installed an incompatible version.
Is there anyway to fix this as I'm missing out on some apps I use frequently.
Thanks for your help.
I have the same problem on AOSP Extended 5.8 when i updated it, i no longer could install Instagram from Play Store, i dont use Fb or Snapchat so maybe i cant install these apps either.
I downloaded OGInsta + and use instagram that way. I suppose installing simple Instagram apk will do.
