So we have been suffering from screen freezes lately, and recently this issue has been resolved in many kernels as the sources and commits have been pushed from Xiaomi, however what remains as bad as screen freezes is ghost touches, I tried so many combinations such as:
1. Crdroid latest with 9.6.20, 9.6.24 and 9.6.27 (vendor/firmware) along with stock kernel (Optimus) as well as tried Derp and Malakas.
2. Same mentioned vendor/firmware versions above with Evo X latest version with stock kernel (Derp)
3. POSP latest weekly with the three different vendor/firmware along with stock kernel, derp and optimus.
With all these there is no luck and ghost touches are present, moreover it's quite apparent that these ghost touches aren't solved in any kernel as the commits and sources from Miui haven't been pushed yet, for those who are on Eu ROM and Miui global stable they aren't facing any issues, anyone here using a certain combination that's preventing ghost touches from occurring please share it, highly appreciate all the participants in this thread!

We can wait for developers to either adapt a solution to this problem or we can just wait for Xiaomi to release the sources with the solution.
I've owned a poco for 8 and a half months and the screen has sucked from day 1 and still does to this day, it will never be fixed, they will release poco f2 or whatever next and they won't care about f1, do yourselves a favour and sell it and get something else

Have you tried twisted kernel the dev has 3 versions each with different touch fw maybe you can improve your experience by testing each 1 at a time for a bit and see what works best for you
ill move from xiaomi devices for ever and never return to this ****tty company , im going to buy 1+7pro
Yeah, ghost touches are a real problem. And this problem must be solved as soon as possible. I hope devs are working hard right now. And this is definitely software problem cuz I haven't any touch issues for 3 months.

Yea it's not hardware related, we just need xiaomi to push thier resources so that it can be fixed or push an updated vendor firmware with the fix.

Ok for those who are experiencing ghost touches on thier device please use the link below frorm @ipdev
https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/mobile/folders/1zGc3v1ahsN2dpkPppNAJJMDHKl8jnQmj?usp=drive_open
Do it as follows:
If you are flashing vendor/firmware 9.6.27 then flash the kernel 9.6.27 and if you are flashing 9.6.24 then flash the kernel 9.6.24 (the kernel in parallel with the vendor and firmware) if it works for you guys please report back here, thanks!
Note: make sure you are NOT on F2FS because the kernels in the link doesn't support F2FS.
Just flash the latest version of Optimus_Drunk kernel.. it solved 80% touch issue for me. I'm on CrDroid rom with OD kernel.
Thanks me later

Well, CyanogenMod was a custom OS\ROM\Whatever you'd like to call it, but it wasn't something that most phones shipped with. And it turned out to be the most preferred Custom Android ROM, with custom ROMS being based on CM.
I would close my eyes and buy a device if I knew it had official support for CM (LineageOS). I bet most people would.
Apart from issues with their management and rebranding to LineageOS, I don't see what's bad or "worse" with it. Just saying that "Worse" is a strong way to put it.
I do agree that some custom ROMS, no matter how stable have a few bugs\drawbacks occasionally, but so does the stock ROMS.
It is custom ROMS that use a lot of MODS which are generally more prone to stability issues. By mods, I'm referring to certain features like Bravia Engine\ Dolby Atmos ported from another device.
I cant comment on the EPIC ROM as I haven't tried it. But from what other users are saying here, it seems to be a pretty decent and stable ROM, despite having a few extra MODS.

it's opinion.
But regarding what you listed Miui ticks the box for them all.
Just use it when you get it see how you get on if not happy then flash another and so on
miui is the optimal ROM for it no doubt as i tried most custom roms!!!! ram management, Battery life and features all in one MIUI
although i would recommend not the stock miui But the XIAOMI.EU rom and sphinx kernel!!!

I installed Nitrogen OS on mine, it's heavily customizable, stable, battery is great, I have no complaints about it.

I bought the phone to work for me, not me work for phone for free. No time to read custom ROM thread every day, wait for dev to buy new phone and abandon.
Flashing ROM, DFE, All-Region & TWRP (recovery.img) for every update takes 3 minutes for me. That's the only time I waste on phone every week or two weeks, just 3 minutes. So official open beta for me.

what's the rom that's most stable right now? I'm on China rom and have 7 days to wait to unlock my bootloader.
unfortunately I don't like the rom, sync issues with my google accounts.
I no longer have the time to keep on flashing ang re-flashing my phone, am terribly busy with work. so I'm looking for a rom where I can stick on it for a few months.
my last device was a mi max 2 and I stayed on nougat, on that one rom for 14 months lol. I don't really care about updates. as long as the rom is snappy and fast and generally bug free.

Same here. Can someone please give us some inputs as to which ROM is best to stick around? (other than the MIUI, I hate it)
Stability and reliability along with good camera usage is my necessity.
Had used PE on Redmi Note 5 Pro for more than 6 months. PE for Violet seems to be slightly lagging when I used it. And I am unable to use finger print in LOS.
I just flashed Evolution ROM. It seems to be built on PE and so far it looks very neat. Will update later with more details.
UPDATE: Evolution 2.0 seems to be the better among the AOSP based ROMs out there. I never noticed any issues. GCAM, battery, signal coverage and integrity, stability etc, seems to be really impressive... Close to stock roms. In case you want AOSP ROM, i would suggest this one strongly.

You can flash PE AOSP for stability. I am still on a June release, with zero issues. I'm sure the latest build will be stable and improved too.
Hi, last night I couldn't sleep and I decided to flash a few kernels on my global 4/64 Whyred. To be honest, I didn't expect a wide variation in results, however the difference between the fastest and slowest kernel was 28000 points.
The phone's ROM was Bootleggers Oreo. Tested kernels: ROM's stock Derp+, Derp-v5.3, AGNi_PIE-v5.6, IceCold-R5.2, KangarooX-R4.4 and InsigniuX-x14.
This is by no means a comprehensive test (each kernel ran Antutu 7.2.2 only once), but is might serve as a starting point for some people. Before I attach the screenshots, I'd like to mention that IceCold boots the phone in less than half the time the others do, however apparently it was not enough to give it the crown (it's not overclocked). It also fails to show its information in "About phone", so I took it from termux.
All tests consumed 1-2% of battery and no tweak whatsoever was applied on the kernels (schedulers, clocks etc); they ran at stock settings.
I would like to thank the kernels developers for their hard work.
[EDIT] Added KangarooX-OC.
SCORES
Code:
KangarooX 128,209
AGNi 125,286
IceCold 117,020
Derp-v5.3 113,870
Derp+ 113,597
InsigniuX 100,639
Aren't the oreo builds discontinued bro?
Apparently not, most of the tested kernels are only a few days or weeks old and also agni works perfectly, despite being designated Pie.
I found P ROMs not mature enough yet for daily use.

Has anyone tried using Descendant OS on the POCO X4 Pro? The developer recently released a version of descendant OS for Veux based on Android 12.1
I'm not sure if i am allowed to share the link or not but if you just search up "descendant OS" then it's the first result u can see

Any ROMs for this phone will be buggy for some time... We have no partial twrp, no official aosp/lineage os etc. Be happy that we've atleadt got MIUI EU and able to root. Magisk and debloating has made a huge difference in fluidity.

even though descendant OS is based on miui it's the only miui based rom that has peaked my interest since it's theming is very cool and it has tons of features

Correct me if I'm wrong but the only ones I could find are aosp/gsi based - not miui. I wouldn't be flashing random GSI or ROMs external to XDA or miui.eu but that's just me...

I'm so sorry... Its actually based on AOSP i got some wrong information from yt
now i feel extremely dumb...
also yes Miui Eu should be way more stable and secure than roms like Descendant OS

No worries, just be careful about what you flash or you'll end up hard bricking your device especially with all the similar models to ours - there's bound to be incorrectly labeled files around.

I used descendant on my whyred for a while. Its not bad. Just stock android with some customization on ui elements.
