(non Android One version) upgrade to Oreo

I read that tomorrow Oreo drops for the u11. Does this mean the same for the Life (t mobile version)? Since we were told we would receive by the end of November. That time is coming fast haha.
Anyone know about this? Thanks.
If so, cool. We'll all be on the same Android version finally.

It would be nice but I doubt it and we would have to use a ruu to update then I would have to start updating Twrp to use Oreo decryption. Our phone is so close to u11 it won't be hard.

[RETUS | MOTO Z3 PLAY] New pie build OTA!

Stability improvements and security patch April 1st 2019
Can anyone with RETUS Moto z3 play also confirm they received this?

Not much has changed. Feels more fluid and stable. And I did notice one thing!! It's got this cute guy.

Nah, I still don't have the PIE update. I'm RETUS. Motorola Z3 play from Amazon without Alexa.

I just got a feb security update, hopefully they push pie soon.

I expect pie to be here soon for you guys since it's being pushed out to the MFN

I recieved the Feb Security update yesterday, not realky close to what there website says but im not realky caring much at this point. Id be interested in anything other than Android , its become another tool for the carriers , hokding people at bay for there uodates, making updates more prevalent for the phones the carriers claim are flagship ( more sales)

Does anyone know if ATT has released the update from Moto for Pie?

Yes I got the February security update and so did my daughter. I grow weary of wating for the pie update. I will have second thoughts about buying another Lenovo in the future even though they are a great value. I might be happier with a Google Pixel or similar product that receives updates as soon as they are ready.

Thanks for that, i'm checking on that with everyone here for a family member. They also got the security update, and like you are still waiting for the 9.0 update. Could be an ATT thing and not moto/lenovo? Not sure

It's not an AT&T thing. I got my Z3 Play retail unlocked and carrier-free, and I'm still waiting (frustrated) for Pie.

Unlock bootloader and install the Pie rom works great. I have an unlocked bootloader and my wife have the original z3 play. We are both on febr. securityupdate android Pie.

I wasn't in a rush, but this is what happened when I updated to Feb patch 28.70-31.12. Then another posted with same. The phone is on its way to Motorola. I just hope my "refurb" will have a new battery because I sure don't need a replacement device that's been out there for nearly a year.

its motorola theyve sent the updates to the beta team (aka, motorola feedback network). once motorola feels the updates good, it pushes it out to the devices on the RETUS software channel (all of the USA models), so its not necessarily up to the carrier to provide yall the updates, cause you can get it even if there is no sim card in the phone. its just not quite ready for public release

After dealing with Moto when it came to updates for my Atrix 4G (scrapped 4.0 update) and Atrix HD (ignored in favor of Razr HD), and then moving away to my J5, i wasn't sure how Moto was running things today. From what you're saying, the update process hasn't changed.
It makes sense what you say, b/c I was able to track down the modern day sbf files for flashing via rsd (script used today was seen back then when presented in a non-sbf format, still flashable via rsd), ended up reading android version 9, with build dates back in feb and march of this year.
I'm not following this closely, just poking around for any news for a family member, but we definitely know that its in MFN testing?

I'm still stuck on the November 1, 2018 update. It even says I'm up-to-date. Any ideas why?
I am bootloader unlocked with Magisk.

Just updated. Z3 Play unlocked.

Yes. OTA. AT&T network. Not sure if that makes a difference.

This is what I got today, but it is the FIRST ota to hit my phone. It's the Feb 1 security patch that LMSA app couldn't install properly on my phone. The replacement phone came with Jan. 1 patch.
I do hope we get more sightings of RETUS Pie in the wild. I'm returning my sim to my Pixel 3a for a while--at least I get AT&T wifi calling with it. I even get a better phone signal with it.

OMG! It's actually there. Running the install now.
Q beta became available for our Pixel 3a's today.

I feel the Pie is smoother than version 8.1
And hope Q is no better than Pie so that I can hold Z3 play for longer.

Ummmm can I roll back the upgrade? Miss the transparent background and the new gestures are absolutely horrible! Never was a fan of pie but motoz implementation of it sucks on their non Android one devices. And what's with this dark mode sh$# just give me holo design. Thank God I'm selling this phone! Samsung's one UI is so much better! And that's coming from a long term non impressed Motorola user

Edit: How do we enable the system tools back? It used to be pressing the settings icon and it will rotates until you got notifiy for the system tools being enabled.

Downloaded last night. It fixed a few issues I was having on Oreo. No complaints.

Got the update today, no issues so far.

I checked today but nothing there. However, I have my sim in my new g7 power I bought after LSMA Killed the z3 and I sent it back to Texas. I wonder if WiFi isn't enough and you need a sim to get the update? I'm just gonna use this as a backup phone although the OLED screen was nicer than the g7 power.

Last night my daughter checked her z3 play and she got the update. Exact same phone as mine and same carrier. But not me. So pissed and jealous! IDK what their rollout strategy or method is but it blows.

Still no update. I keep checking. Did they turn off all future updates when I had to send it back to Texas when their update room booked it erasing the IMEI and disabling Wi-Fi?

Its been 6 months 27 days since first Android 10 release.
Also Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite didnt get any security update about 74 days.
Any bets?

Xiaomi must release at least security patch, because as per google rules, the security patch on phone must not be older than 90 days on beginning of each month. Also, there are reports that the new Android 10 with march security is already seeding to small amount of users.

Who got it?
We need the download source!

I think the update will not coming on time, 1 day left.
I don't expect to much for now.

That one got deleted by Xiaomeme due to bugs that lead to destroy phone (temporarily). One of them did go directly to local technician because it can't turn on phone anymore due to that update.

I purchased a Pixel 4a from Verizon 2 weeks ago . This is the first google pixel phone I have bought. Well my question is is should I have gotten the update by now or does it really take 2 weeks to push out to all phones?

Can't speak to the Verizon varient but the A11 update was available first thing in the morning Sept 8th on my non carrier branded 4a.

Historically, it can take up to two weeks for an OTA. Did you go into settings/system/advanced/system update and check for an update manually?

Yes I've done all of that. I've even factory reset the device to see if that would trigger the update. Guess I will have to keep waiting.

For anyone else in this situation.
Opt into the beta that is over and the official build will be ready when you go to and check for the update.

Had mine now about a week and am seeing an issue with bluetooth media playing once the phone enters screen lock/screen saver. The media stops playing until the screen wakes up again. How did this get through the beta, anyway?

I'm on Verizon Prepaid and udated to Android 11 several days ago by manually checking for updates.

Anyone knows if touchscreen bug ITS already patch(on 11 update?
