Phone Connection Slow?

I've Google all of the reported issues of the Pixel and didn't see anyone complaining about this. When I make or receive a phone call, it takes about 10-20 seconds from the time we answer the phone to the time we can hear each other /talk. Anybody else having this issue?

Not sure what network you're on but I'm working closely with Verizon and Google on my LTE connection. I am getting my third RMA device on Tuesday. Also, if you are on Verizon, not sure if you have a Google or Verizon P2 - that may be a factor as well, as I'm finding out with my Google P2.

My Google version pixel 2 on Verizon is fine.

I'm on Verizon and using a Verizon P2. Wish I had the Google version so I can manipulate software and see if a different radio/rom/hack would fix it.
I'm beginning to think it has something to do with HD calling. I received 2 calls over the weekend which worked fine (no long connection time). This morning my wife calls and it took 15+ seconds before we could hear each other. It was so slow that she hung up the first time and called back. This morning I distinctly remembered seeing HD calling on the phone as I answered. The next time someone calls I'll make note if it says HD or not.

Anyone get the new 8.1 beta 2 update? I'm on 8.0 with the November security update so I'm not eligible for the beta 1 update. I read that the beta 2 was just released but still no update even though I've unregistered and re-registered a half dozen times.
I'm hoping an update would fix this issue. If not I'll end up replacing this phone or going back to my Pixel 1.
I also navigated today for the first time and that was a horrible experience. The phone didn't move with me. The only way I could get it to update my location was to close navigation and restart it. I didn't realize this until after I'd missed my turn.

Why not just download the 8.1 DP2 firmware, remove the -w from flashall.bat script(so it doesn't wipe) and update manually?

Why wouldn't manually updating to dp2 work on the Verizon pixel 2? Not sure if it will work with removing the - w, but with it left in I don't see what would stop it from working. You not rooting or unlocking anything... Or does it need to be Verizon firmware? You can also try removing the bootloader and radio imgs, and flash-all without those

If you read the instructions for manually flashing firmware, one of the first steps is to unlock the bootloader. Not sure why Google chose to do it that way but it won't work on a locked phone. I've tried before on a locked Pixel 1.

Hate waiting for Android 9 for Moto G6

Here's the deal: been waiting for android pie on moto g6 for a long time, check for update every time, but nothing comes up. Any suggestions for an angry android user?

You can, just don't flash the gpt.bin or the bootloader.bin files.

I also checked for the update every couple days and today was my lucky day, i just updated my moto g6 (verizon) to android pie. Update was about 1.5 Gb and it works perfectly. Really good improvements , the only thing i could complain is that there is not an auto brightness on the quick menu.

I'm on RETUS channel on AT&T in the US. Just got the OTA to 9.0.
Version is PPS29.118-11-1

FYI....My Moto G6 was just notified of OTA Pie update. I'm using it on a Straight Talk plan. Updating as I'm typing this. Fingers crossed

Is it an original straight talk device or an unlocked version? Just wondering.

It's a Wal-Mart purchased phone. Straight Talk branded. Just a backup phone for me. But getting ready to hand it down to a granddaughter.

December 8th and still no update to our Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL bought from Google and on Google Fi. Seems some on other carriers have had their updates for days now. Anyone on Google Fi get theirs yet?

I got my Pixel 3 (bought from Google) December update on December 2. Be aware it caused a bootloop for a lot of users - I had to wipe my phone to recover. I recommend removing all Magisk modules, if not removing Magisk entirely before updating. You should be able to reroot after the update.

No worries. I do not have Magisk installed. I heard people were having issues if they installed the Pixel 4 launcher and were using gesture navigation. I have neither. Just surprised I have not received the update yet.

Pixel 3 purchased from Google, on Google Fi, and no update yet. Maybe they're delaying it after the initial problems. One previous monthly update took over a week for me as well, but usually I get them within a day or two.

Google purchase, on T-mo. No update yet either. Not just you.

Is it really that big of a deal??

You will notice that comment came from a Galaxy owner. They expect 3 updates over the life of the phone and are running on at best a 6-month old security level at any point. It doesn't matter to everyone.

Depends on what security updates are included. Also, I'm running the Nova launcher and it would be really nice to have gesture navigation support. One reason I got a Pixel is to get to the front of the line after living with other brands of phones that took many months to get updates. So not a huge deal, but Google has spoiled us with updates every month typically within a day or two of the first Monday.

Third Monday, everybody still in update limbo? Perhaps Google just wants to give X-mas gifts this year, but I'd rather they don't hold the update.

No update love for me as of 12/16/2019 4PM EST. I'm tired of waiting and will likely just sideload the update some time this week.

Still waiting. Obviously something is up.

You're right. Mostly a lurker and hadn't tried that before but worked like a charm. Thanks for the nudge.

I got it on my Google Fi purchased phone. I was using my VZW sim at the time. That may be why I got it.

Clocks ticking: March is about to end

Recently Xiaomi promised this to us;
"Xiaomi is aware of the Android 10 update issues in Mi A2 Lite and the launch to users of that device has now been suspended. Our teams are now working to solve the problem and our goal is to implement an update via OTA throughout March. Its been 6 months 27 days since first Android 10 release.
Also Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite didnt get any security update about 74 days.
Any bets?

Xiaomi must release at least security patch, because as per google rules, the security patch on phone must not be older than 90 days on beginning of each month. Also, there are reports that the new Android 10 with march security is already seeding to small amount of users.

Who got it?
We need the download source!

I think the update will not coming on time, 1 day left.

That one got deleted by Xiaomeme due to bugs that lead to destroy phone (temporarily). One of them did go directly to local technician because it can't turn on phone anymore due to that update.

Same on the pixel. For the Samsung phones however, I've gotten most of the updates around this time of the month. Only one has been close to the first. U gets theirs before U1, but typically only by a couple days. Ours should come any day now.
