Flash Kernel to stock device - Google Pay problems? - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi there,
I'm getting my OP7Pro in the next days. In the past I often flashed custom FWs to my devices, but at last (Galaxy S8) I had problems with Google Pay not working correctly after some updates by Google, there were workarounds via Magisk Hide, but yeah... seemed like cat and mouse for future payments with Google Pay.
Question here is: can I flash a custom Kernel from here without triggering those Google Pay safety measures? Is Google looking for root? How about custom ROMs?
Thank you in advance and sorry for my dumb question.

Is there a way to get Google Assistant on the Honor 8 without Rooting?

I came across this article last weekend, and I don't even know if it will work.
http://www.androidauthority.com/goog...-gapps-747378/
I was then pointed at the following by a fellow forum member (but it needs ROOT, which causes issues with Android Pay etc): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.trivisionzero.getassistant
So, doe anyone know of a way that gets Google Assistant without the need to root?

Sadly there is no way to get it without root. You need root to either add to the build.prop on Nougat, An xposed module on Marshmallow or a modified Velvet.apk on Marshmallow. Open Gapps requires TWRP which means you need an unlocked bootloader.

ROM without root (NOT how to install ROM without rooting phone)

So, this is a slightly different question that what these forums are for.
I'm looking to install a ROM on my Z5, so I can have the latest version of Android and hopefully squash some bugs (especially random Bluetooth turning off). This is all well documented in the forums, but all these ROMs usually come with root included and here's where my problem starts.
There are many apps on my phone that won't work with root, like bank apps, Android Pay and Netflix just to name a few. So, I'd like to have a costume ROM that doesn't have root included. Xposed used to have a module for temporarily disabling root but from my memory, it was never reliable; and there's no Xposed for Nougat yet.
I know many of you install ROM in order to customize your phone as much as possible, my goal is not customization. My goal is to have the latest code, with the latest security fixes and with as many bugs fixed.
So, is there a ROM that I can install that comes without root? OR if there's a way to remove root from any ROM?
I do understand that my bootloader has to be unlocked, that's a given (just in case you were about to mention it). Also, rooting as an initial/intermediate step is also very acceptable, just not the final product.
You want custom rom and bypass netflix or bank apps, android pay etc. Custom rom is the meaning of BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED device, so there is no way to bypass these apps without Root on custom roms. Magisk or some Xposed modules do that, but not guaranteed.
Flash STOCK FTF on my thread (steps 1-14) and then flash your TA BACKUP. This will lock your bootloader..

New Rom for my S7

Hey Guys,
i'm owning an Galaxy S7 (G930F) and it's have a Vodafone Brand(Germany), (boot logo and some apps from Vodafone).
I'm really pissed of the update schedule from Samsung, and want a root to, so i decided to install a custom Rom.
But my latest custom rom phone was some years ago ( old Samsung GT 8150 Galaxy W) I think since it have changed many
I want a ROM that have an auto updater, i had that on the old GT 8150, when an update was ready, it was a easy way to install.
Its possible that knox will not be triggered?
Which Version of Rom can i install? I had some issues with my 8150, when i started testing some ROMs, some Roms had the boot bug, and then i tried to install the Stock ROM, but then was no able to boot.
On this time this Infos says me S7.
Android 7.0
Basicbandversion: G930FXXU1DQH6
Build: NRD90M.G930FXXu1DQH6
Knox 2.7.1
Android Patch
1 of August
Sorry for that bad english,
Thanks and regards,
Daniel
Custom ROMs require unlocking the bootloader, which triggers knox.
is there a simple way to get root on my S7 then?

root, install different system apps, unroot, android pay?

hi folks. i have an unrooted s7 exynos. i would like to install some modified system apps like the blackout apps. youtube, google app etc. i need root to do that but have concerns about android pay. i know this will permanently trip knox and kill samsung pay but not bothered about spay.
i also know that i can potentially use magisk and still be able to use android pay, but that situation seems fluid. anyone know if i can root, change system apps, unroot, and still be guaranteed android pay working? or is it any modification at all to /system that will block it? and if that is the case, presumably reflashing stock rom to recover android pay access should work?
cheers.
If you pass safety net then android pay will work, in theory if you successfully unrooted with no traces left behind then safety net will pass. But the challenge would be a clean unroot, I'm not sure how easy that is. Most unroot methods I've seen are a reset, so you'd lose your app changes anyway.
Magisk is quite effective, afaik the only thing it can't hide from saftey net is Xposed.

What will be broken after rooting S7 flat

Hi everybody,
I am searching around for some time now as I am thinking about to root my G930F which has actually DBT firmware with September 2019 security patch installed.
I want to do full backup of the phone with all data.
The warranty is over and therefore I do not care about that.
The question is - what will not work any more in the same way as before after rooting (I just talk about rooting, not install a custom Rom for now) ?
Some things I found out already:
-Knox is tripped
-samsung health stops working
What happen to the camera after rooting ? I did root a Xperia phone some time ago and after installing a custom Rom, the camera quality was trash.
Some apps may quit working due to the phone being rooted. Which kind of apps are affected ? Just banking apps ,?
Thanks for your time and helping here
Oliver
