How to increase Bluetooth volume? - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

I've a pair of Bose Bluetooth headphones but listening to Spotify the volume is very low. How can I increase it? I've rooted and magisk installed.

I've had the same issue when using Bluetooth headphones

You can try disabling Absolute volume in Developer Settings

spotify sometimes "normalizes" volume so it may be doing that also.
in spotify settings turn off that option

Get better headphones. Or try this;

I don't really use Spotify so this may not be accurate, my volume is about the same as my s9+ was over bt, but I installed ainur sauron mk3 and my headphones got a little bit louder.

I just checked my 7 pro, and it's disabled by default in developer mode.

I tried the "good old" OnePlus 5T "trick", unpair your headphones and repair them, this fixed my issue with my aire2's as the volume was really low, and when speaking on the phone, the sound from my mic was really noisy in the other end, so now everything runs perfect!

Volume In spotify
I was having the same problem and what fixed it for me was forgetting the device in Bluetooth settings, then reset the Bluetooth device. After I paired them back up the sound hurt my ears because it was turned all the way up lol

Use viper4androidfx ? Kind of a must have for audio anyway and you can manually adjust the output in db
Ah lol just noticed the thread is old af.. nvm then

I am having the same problem. Coming from Huawei Mate 20 X, the volume is too low. Even on maximum output (doesn't matter if absolute volume is enabled or not) the volume through my Sony WH1000-XM3 is one or two steps too low compared to the Huawei.
For listening at home it is fine but when out and about in busy city, it is quite annoying.
Any fix?

I'm also seeing the same issue coming from a Note 10+, I'd say this is around 20% lower volume in comparison.

[Q] BT volume level starts off lower each time

Whenever I connect my phone to my car via BT and stream through Google Music, when I raise the volume on the phone, it always warns me playing at high volumes for long periods of time can hurt your ears. I hit OK and then it lets me raise the volume. My issue is each time I connect my phone to my car's BT, I have to keep doing this or the volume is so low, I have to turn my car stereo all the way up. Is there any work arounds or settings I might have missed? I am rooted and running xposed. Thanks.
I hope someone can find a tweak to turn this stupid message off! I can't really reakte to your issue but the pop up message is very annoying.
---------- Post added at 09:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:43 PM ----------
What u noticed though similar to ur issue is I do use BT headset at work so BT volume is around 70-75%. I then turn off BT headset before I get in my car, car connect a to BT and music starts playing, it is now playing at same BT volume setting I had for my headset, around 70-75%. I then have to manually up the volume on my device and get this annoying pop up.
It's either a kit Kat thing or M8 thing. Last device was HTC One X+ on Android 4.2.2 and device was smart enough to remember BT headset volume SEPERATE from BT music volume. It was smart enough to keep BT music volume at full at all times and BT headset volume at 75% at all times, never had to adjust!
---------- Post added at 09:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 PM ----------
Then again my last device was running a custom Rom so maybe the Rom developer was smarter then the device and made this tweak himself? Can't say for sure on that but know this is how it was.
This annoys me every time as well. I want BT volume to be max at all times no matter what
ok, so Im not the only one with noticing this. Well, I hope when s-off is achieved, ROM makers remove this dumb feature.
I believe you can thank the EU's "Health and Safety" group for that message. I have issues with it as well. My issue is that i use tasker to set the volumes for the car and other times but the message doesn't always pop up and tasker doesn't seem to complete the task until I find the message and say ok.
Sense Toolbox 6 is out with a beta rls and there was an option to remove the warning, but not sure if it will keep the levels high or not. havent had a chance to test yet
Just tested with sense toolbox 6 and now this has gone away. YaY!!!

Root your device with latest version of magisk manager. After that, under the download section in magisk manager.there is a module called "ViPER4Android FX" with the latest version.hit install and do a reboot. Once you are booted. There will be a app "ViPER4Android FX". Under the phone speaker section optimize "master power" & "eXtra Loud". And you'll be good to go....

Extremely low Bluetooth volume

Hi,
I have an issue with my Samsung Galaxy S8+.
If I try to play music via bluetooth to my speakers, the volume is very very low. The settings are on max and media volume sync can't be enabled.
I tried playing music with my Samsung Galaxy S7Edge and the volume was completely normal and very loud with nothing changed on the speakers.
I also tried this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/how-to/low-bluetooth-volume-car-fix-t3595530 with no result.
My BT speakers: https://www.trust.com/en/product/19367-tytan-2-1-subwoofer-speaker-set-with-bluetooth-black
My S8+:
Android 8.0.0
Stock
Knox triggered: 0
Never did any manual flash. Always just updated it.
Are there common reasons for this or good fixes? Or is it just a software bug?
Thanks for your time!

It's oreo, they messed up the volume and everything audio on oreo, no fix right now I'm going to make a topic to see if it's possible to downgrade back to nougat.
Not just an Oreo thing. I've had the same issue with the Bluetooth in my car as well.

Look at that post. I tried the force close method and it helped.

it's amazing that you can't tell the difference at all, it's very noticeable, i am unable to hear anything when i receive calls in my headset either, this latest oreo update is broken.
found something online, it's something to do with media sync, try connecting the bluethooth device, then go to settings, bluethooth, 3 dots and select media sync, select on and make sure both phone and headphones volume is max and restart phone, anyone notice any difference? i'm testing it now.

Yea that was the first thing I have read about when I started searching for it. I wanted to try it, but it seems like my BT speakers are not compatible with it. It says that it isnt compatible when I try to activate it. Not sure if there is a workaround to make it working.
I don't think this is an Oreo specific problem. I've encountered this bug since marshmallow.
The only way I could get it to reset the volume back to max was when I used crdroid.
The volume would get set very low. I could open the global equaliser via Google music. And the volume would not change.
I would then access the global eq via another music player. Just make a tiny change to any parameters and boom. The volume is now set to the correct level again.
The moment I would use Google music to access the eq the volume would jump down again
My tablet is now on naosp and the volume issue has popped back up.
Doing the same procedure will reset the volume correctly.
It is rather annoying to have to do this.
I don't know what is causing the problem but it looks like the global eq ultimately effects the output volume disabled or enabled

No difference at all with three different devices I connect to. I do have media sync disabled already. Hopefully you get it figured out.
I've done a test on my S8+ now.
I downloaded the latest firmware and flashed it with a complete reset of the phone.

After the flash of it the BT issue is gone. This was done yesterday (4/10/2018). I will report back if the BT issue returns OR in like 2 weeks+ if everything is still fine.

do you need root for that though and i never had this issue in nougat, this issue first happened in oreo.
And i have a universal eq setting on a separate app called precise volume which does the same thing.

It dosn't work anyway, still the same, on a good note they have fixed the low volume for incoming calls on my headphones, just the music volume is still crap.
I think my only solution is another set of headphones that support LDAC but they are £300+ lol or to get a Microsoft music player, i have a laptop that even beats what the old volume was on nougat so maybe a Microsoft music player would be a good idea, gonna look around.
It was good while it lasted i guess.

I wasn't rooted before but since then have rooted via magisk systemless root. I can still use pay and bank access etc...
I'm using viper4android now and have also disabled the system EQ.
I have just got connects2 for my car last weekend.
On the odd occasion the volume will drop when opening automate(the driving launcher) which is set to launch playmusic on Bluetooth connection.
But as soon as I swipe down the volume jumps back up.

Yeah for sure but be aware you might loose functionality on apps like banking and payments.
I use magisk to hide root so I can still use those functionalities.
Make sure you read into it first.
I've had a replacement connects2 module fitted today and all is going well.
Viper4android my EQ is absolutely amazing in comparison to other EQ and in my case the volume issue has been solved.
Actually it's really loud as I was used to the lower level.
Steps I took.
Unlock bootloader ( wiped my tablet)
Flash magisk
Install magisk manager
Added selinux module via magisk manager
Added viper4android via magisk manager
Disable global EQ
Set selinux to permissive
Install viper4android driver. Prompts when opening the app for the first time.
Reboot
And it's all good.
The bug with AutoMate seems to be tied to my maps speed prompting notification voice.
If it does revert to no EQ, I drag down from the top bar and it's back up again
I hope it works for you. Plus you now have a very awesome EQ as a bonus

Try enabling Developer mode (press Build Number 8 times). Then turn on Disable absolute volume. This de-links the phone volume control from the headset's volume control. Now you should be able to increase volume on both independently.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. I had two pair of bluetooth headphones. A Cheap pair with volume control and a fancy pair of JBL Frees with no volume control. I could NOT figure out why sometimes the volume was great when they connected and other times it was VERY LOW all the while the cheap pair sounded great when I turned them up. I was at wits end blaming JBL and Samsung when it was a setting for Bluetooth devices.
Thanks again Huyi. Very glad I found this post.

OxigenOS 5.1.6 sounds too loud also at minimum volume.

Hi, I've update the op6 to oos 5.1.6, but I noticed that with the minimum volume the sounds are TOO LOUD. Is impossible to mantain the phone with the sounds on at work with this volume. There are any methods or a different way to reduce the volume of system+ringtone+notification (because OP has merged in a only one volume)?
I am rooted and I have twrp.
Change volume percentage (original mininimum is 14%, I tried 4%) with automate or something like this, doesn't function.

I have the same issue. I have had to turn notifications off for Facebook and Messenger as its too loud. The only other way to stop them is to set the slider switch on the side of the phone to vibrate....
I thought it was just me, but not being able to totally volume down notifications is a major flaw in this firmware

OP6 bluetooth volume fluctuates

Hey I think this problem came after updating to official pie.
The problem is that if I play music on Spotify using a Bluetooth speaker the volume sometimes lowers itself then goes back to the normal volume, then lowers itself again, and it keeps doing that. I have tried 2 different Bluetooth speakers and same problem on both of them. This doesn't happen to my friends phone on of the speakers which is his. Does anyone else have this problem ask as well? It's have you fixed it? Headphone volume is working properly, it's only the Bluetooth.
I think the problem was that I had the volume slider on my phone at Max and only used the buttons on the speaker device to adjust the volume. Having the slider at about 50% I now don't have that problem, for now at least. It was the low bassy parts of songs that most often got it's volume lowered for bit.
You're not crazy! It happened to me and drove me crazy. I think it was an issue with Spotify although I'm not sure but it's gone for me now as far as I can tell..
Finally someone else also. I posted about this one other time but nobody came across. But I guess V4A helped in it, I'm not sure though.

Drove me crazy as well, I did a factory reset. However, the problem got worse, the maximum volume of all my bluetooth devices was extremely low.
I finally fixed the problem by disabling the "Disable absolute volume" in the developer option menu.
Love the oneplus phones, (started at the one), but the audio especially over bluetooth really bothers me...

My first OnePlus phone was also the One. And upgrading to the 6 best decision ever still. But yeah the Bluetooth problem needs to be fixed :/ I tried the disable absolute volume to a while ago but it didn't help for me with the volume going up an down by itself.
This is happening to me. I thought it was my headphones or Deezer but I've tried the headphones with more devices and it doesn't happen. Glad I'm not the only one.
I've had this same issue occur whenever I had V4A Installed. After installation and setup, it'd work just fine, then randomly this same issue occurred. Curious to see if anyone can relate
same problem here, I fixed it by using a custom rom for now

This fix is working great. Somehow the audio tuner was conflicting with Bluetooth audio output. Although I feel the sound is now a bit flat, the annoying issue is resolved. Need to test this on 9.0.3.
