Anybody tried using your dash car charger with the OP7Pro ?
I recently bought 1 and tried charging.. it shows rapidly charging and a lightning icon appeared just for 1 second and turned back to normal charging.
Then it randomly turned into that state for a split second and then change back to normal charging icon again.. any idea what's going on ?
Got mine on release day and it has been working perfectly. Have you tried with the cable the phone came with? possibly a faulty cable. If it still doesn't work, then the charging unit might need replaced.

Is your car charger Dash or Warp type ?
Cable and Dash Charger both new for me.
I have the warp version. Sorry didn't read close enough to see you were using the dash version. In any case, i would reach out to oneplus about it. Most likely a back charger and just some bad luck.

yea, i'll try to get it changed mayb... but the incompatibility issue might be there too tho.
I have the dash charger from the op5 and issued it on my op6 and I couldn't justify the $50 for it and put the $50 towards the 12gb instead of the 8gb version.
With that said, I get the same speeds that I had with the dash car charger that I got with the op5 and op6. It shows rapid charging not Warp charging. That is now than fast enough when I'm there car, especially since the battery life is better than my op6 was.

Yeah it shows rapid charging ok my lock screen
---------- Post added at 03:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:09 PM ----------
I can be using maps while driving and still be charging fairly quickly. It isn't quite a fast as the op6 did, but that was a 3300mah battery and the 7 pro is 4000mah so that's to be expected.

Hmm is your 7pro on the 9.5.8 update ?
Weird.. cz mine shows rapidly charging for just a split sec and then change back to just normal charging. Maybe a faulty unit.. but I found 2 other person facing similar issue in another post ?

Yep, I updated to 9.5.8 the same day it was posted. I just flashed the full OTA with local upgrade and kept root and TWRP.
Also, I think I read somewhere that said OnePlus said they will charge as fast as the charger is rated for but the earlier phones can't charge at warp speeds obviously. So a Dash charger will charge the OP5 and OP6 at rapid charging and the 7 Pro should as well but using warp charger it would only charge at Rapid for the OP5 and OP6 (what the phone will allow as well). I'm curious if anyone can map the charging voltages and see whats what? Maybe yours is bugged and IS rapid charging or mine is bugged at not rapid charging even though it says. Either way All I know is it does charge fairly quickly even when I'm using maps while charging using the Dash car charger.
Works fine for me OP7 Pro 8/256 and Dash Car Charger (bought when I had OP3)

I have the same problem. Dash charge will flick on for a second then flick off for about 20 seconds. Repeat this over and over during the charge. The funny thing is, occasionally it will actually start to Dash charge and stay on until fully charged but that happens only once in a while.

yeah some forum members said theirs worked... btw we came to a conclusion that its more of a software problem, tested anew dash car charger and also a new phone.. same result. confirmed that my dash car charger and my phone aren't faulty.
but today in the morning, when my phone was at 90%, i plugged in the dash charger, it shows rapidly charging after 10s of plugging in.. and stays there., charges faster than normal ( at dash speed )
normally when its only charging at the normal speed, from 50%, the indicator shows 1hour 30min til battery is full
mind check your phone battery level when it rapidly charges constantly?

I have a Keedox wall charger with Quick Charger 2.0 for my M9, though it works with fast charging once in 3 charge (don't ask me why)!!
I saw a Car charger with Quick Charge 2.0 on Amazon for just 12$, do you recommend me one or not?
I use my M9 as a car audio device as I put it on a sticky pad on my dashboard + BT, so I wonder if the Quick charger will make the M9 too hot knowing it's a phone that could be hot for nothing

I just got a wall quick charger (randomorder 2.0) that has a LED light on it(changes from green to orange)and I think it has to do with core temp. When I plugged my device in after heavy use it charged average to even slower than the one that came in the box. The LED light was orange'ish green at the time, so I figured I would cycle the battery again and then leave it idle before I tried charging it again. When I did that and let the temp drop, this was the result. The LED light was bright green when I plugged it in this time.

As fast or faster than my wall charger. Probably ~2%/minute, though I have not paid that close attention to the numbers.

Do you use the Car app while charging? I heard quick charger 2.0 can mess with the screen responsiveness
Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA Free mobile app
I never use the car app, no. So I can't say.
Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
i heard it won't quick charge the phone anyway if the screen is On, the Car app keeps the screen On, with my wall quick charger 2.0 (that does it once over 4) the phone can get warm (but not too much) and screen can eventually be crazy in the responsiveness. It remembers me of Nexus 1 and DHD times when using the charger + screen get crazy with some roms
I got the Kmashi on Amazon when they were $4.99 after coupon, they work great.
I got the tronsmart 4 port usb car charger (quick charge 2.0)
http://www.amazon.com/Qualcomm-Cert...sim_107_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0PENHH610SCVHYTZ718X
best car charger i have ever used.
I don't have a car charger, but as far as screen response is concerned, I've experienced that with cheaper chargers. I would guess that it has something to do with the current not being correct for the phone, or not staying consistent. I've got the tronsmart wall charger, and now I don't have the same issues as when I had a cheap 2amp charger.
I use an Aukey QC I got via Slickdeals for $9. Works perfectly and charges my phone very fast.
I wonder why I am not getting the promised charging speed of 50w?
With the screen off I am getting 26.99w at most.
With the screen on I am getting around 12w.
I charged my fone at around 35%. I have a hunch the 50w will only kick in from 0% up to a certain percentage.
Anybody here observed similar results?
50 w is just for the beginning, when your battery is almost 0%.
The charger is not 50W flat. The charging power will change depending on the battery charge.

Okay, i had both phones, a OP 8pro (30w charge) and my new Xiaomi 10Pro and compared charging speeds and the Mi10 Pro is much more faster than the OP8 pro, it felt it takes hours until the op8 pro reaches 100%. i dont care about measurements, ampere showed me a peak of ~9500ma at peak on the mi10 pro, no idea about the OP8pro on ampere. My Mi10 pro had a 60w charger but i dont have an usb tester anymore, if the phone got a 100% charge under a hour then everything should fine, isnt?
Maybe your USB tester isn't capable to detect the right power of the charger, as i know these usb testers are only able to count voltages from quick charge (1,2,3...)?? But i can wrong here...

he he, thats a funny thing, trust me ...
i bought the oneplus8 pro at relaese day as popup edition (cases and headphones included) 999€ and i used it for a bit more than one month BUT i never was satisfied at all, i mean there was a lot of camera improvements over time but i couldn't understand the hype about the display and when it comes to battery life i was a bit disappointed. (My former phone was a Huawei P30 pro) I had the feeling the battery was draining faster than normal and as i said, i never felt completely happy with the phone. So last weekend i surfed in the web and found a shop in the city next to me that sold the Xiaomi Mi10 pro so i decided to take a look on the phone. And trust me, i saw the phone in the store, played around a bit and i knew immediately thats the right one. I compared both phones a lot and until today i doesn't regret the decision. The Phone is Top notch in battery, display, performance i miss nothing from the opo8pro and i'm lucky that i sold the phone. All i kept from the oneplus was the WirelessZ Bullets.

mine charges with like 50w (45-50w) until about 40% and after that it slows down gradually, which is the expected behavior.
this phone changed the way I use my phone completely! I always charged my devices overnight to 100. but now considering how little it takes to charge this phone I just don't think about charging every time it gets to like 10 I plug it in to 80%.
1% to 80% took 33min, 3502mAh
4% to 80% took 29min, 3227mAh

yup I have some cheapo china testers
the better one (usb c) shows about 45w when charging
the second one (usb a) only allows quick charge 18w because the 65w xiaomi charger uses a half assed usb 3 port (one pin more than usb 2) and
therefore only works if the (usb a) tester also has usb 3 pins. For the same reason if you use a normal usb 2 (usb a to c) cable you won't get 50w
i also tested it again. it charges up to 33% with ~45w and then goes down to ~30w I checked again at arrount 65% it was charging with ~25w. At least these are the values that my tester shows
other values (charge % , time, mAh) in my previous post were readings from the phone itself.

My usb tester is exactly the first photo. Since I got my unit used, it might not have the original cable.
Would you be kind enough to check if on the USB A side, where the cable attaches to plug, does it day 3A?
Also, at what amps does it say when the charged is doing 45w?
Thank you

You can see the extra pin by looking down the port
I marked them in the attachments. Basically it's one of the 5 extra pins that usb 3 uses.
Sorry I have to check again later for the exact amperage, just charged my device. This time i checked the percentage and it charged to 41% with 45w. The deciding logic is probably more complicated than just a percentage.
Edit: added a photo with the exact charge info
the reason u r not getting 50w is bcos u put a meter between the charger and the cable... in order for xiaomi to draw out 50w from usba they put in a small microchip inside the cable to trigger the 50w quick change. if u look into the usb cable u will see extra pin in the middle of the cable, this pin work with the microchip to trigger the 50w quick charge.
solution:
1. always use original cable come with the mi10pro phone.
2. dont plug anything between the cable and charger.
3. if u want to test charging speed with meter, use type-c to type-c meter.
FYi, xiaomi 50w is using 10v 5a.
The phone heats up to 43 degrees during fast charging.
As the title says. The phone shows mi turbo charging and not the yellow/gold 120 while charging.
Any ideas?
Using a 120v outlet?
Edit: yep you live in the US. 120v outlets with this charger can only provide 96w and won't even get that high actually. They use 96va but the actual power being used is only ~55w if you use a kill-a-watt. Your phone never charged at 120w unfortunately. If it said it was, the software was lying.

Actually I am using 220v and it was charging at 120w speed 2 days ago. The difference is staggering between the 120w and the mi turbo charging.
I just did a factory reset and it didn't help. I'm starting to think the cable or the charger malfunctioned but they are a week old both.
Sounds like the brick - change the cable and see if it works. I don't think there are any 3rd (or official) 120W chargers. Maybe time for RMA, they may even send you one without a return

How do you enable or disable turbo max? I have the same problem, since last updates the 5-100 charge takes more than an hour. That's a shame for the "super fast" charge. I have a 240v circuit in my garage breaker but I never found the outlet for it. Our dryer also has a 240v outlet but it's not a standard plug. I was curious to experiment with proper 120w charging so I bought a step up transformer on Amazon, 300w 120v to 240v or vice versa.
For what it's worth I've had to plug and unplug the cable from the charger occasionally or it won't charge properly. I'm guessing dust gets in just the wrong place or something, or some other weird little quirk. The other day it was doing really slow charging on my 55w wireless charger, I had to unplug the cable from the brick and charger, and unplug the brick from the wall, but it all worked fine again after that.
Same for me. Living in Denmark. We have 220V. Using the original 120w charger and cable. When charging the message is "quick charge" . Not max 120 Wat. Charging is slow. When I get to the batery status. It shows for example 30 min left to charge from 70% to 100%.
The 120w charging was the whole reason I got this phone. What is going on?

I am using a transformer in the US that gets about 240v and I have no issues with 120w. That said it's only slightly faster than on 120v (which is supposedly 96w) anyway, not much of a difference.

My friend, I have a feeling there is no issue with software. You won't solve this issue flashing another rom. I think it is better to return this unit to the seller invoking warranty conditions.
The unit is not performing as it is expected.
If you unlock bootloader, then you will probably void your warranty.
Do not waste your time, get in touch with seller.
Best regards,
Andrei
It's about Samsung official 15W Wireless Charger Duo (model number EP-P5400) and is the fastest wireless charging pad from Samsung.
Using the above wireless charger, charging the S22 Ultra(Snapdragon) using the 25W Samsung adapter and the cable(that comes in the phone box) . Started charging at 12 noon when the battery was at 1% and in about 3 hours 21 mins it's charged till 76%, and to fully charge it took 4 hours and several minutes. The "time remaining to fully charge" shown below the battery icon is false, it takes way more(double) time. It does fast wireless charging at 15W, but should it take 4+ hours to fully charge?
This charging adapter+cable combo does super fast WIRED charging and charges fully as intended and on time, so no issues with the adapter+cable.
Phone FW build is "AVCJ", phone is not connected to any bluetooth device or such, there's no metal object in between, fast wireless charging toggle is ON in settings, cache erased in recovery, device care app version 13.0.03.1(is the latest and app cache erased), phone restarted and so on for basic troubleshooting.
What is the issue if not the EP-P5400 wireless charging pad itself?
Bump!
PS: Ambient temperature is low (21/22°C), so it's not about slow charging due to temperature rise in the phone and the cooling fan inside the charging pad is working fine too.

Possible misalignment of the phone on the charger?
Is the fast wireless charging switched on in the battery settings?

It shows "fast wireless charging" while charging, so not misaligned.

This I've already mentioned in the OP.
some possibility is that the phone was doing something in the background that consumed battery while charging... check to see if anything is running in the background, often times it's Google related (some 3rd parties known to drain are FB related apps)
If this is doing all the time then might be something that you'd want to check with samsung. reproduce the issue then report to samsung using Samsung Members app > get help > error report.
Have you tried a different wireless charger. Yours may not be working correctly for some reason.

I did, with a 9W wireless charger from Samsung from 10 to 30% that took comparatively longer time than this new one, which is obvious.

So, today it charged from 53% to 100% in just 55 minutes. Phone wasn't used while charging and 4G data bluetooth were on like before. Charging was done at similar location of the same room as before. The difference was that I used Samsung 25W adapter to power the Wireless Charger (instead of hp one) and kept the charger over a flat wooden rack (instead of over bed mattress last time).

Charged from 53% to 100% with the above "conditions" met using the 25W Samsung adapter. Started charging at 9:40 AM and done at 11:11 AM, that's 1 hour 31 mins.
What's the device care version you are using?
Just for a test unplug the pad from the charger and hook up direct to the phone with cable. How long does it say for a charge now?
I have the 15 watt Samsung Charger that comes with a 25 watt super fast charger. 15 watts wireless and 25 watts when wired. EP-P2400TBEGUS make sure when buying the one I have that it comes with the travel adapter (Charger). They sell two versions one for $39.99 that is just the pad only and then the one I have for $59.99 that comes travel adapter (Charger)
Anyway I am currently at 45% let me put it on charger and see how long it says it will take to charge to 100. Ok it says 1hr 9min to fast wireless charge to full.
Now I plug in the cable direct to the phone and it says 45min to super fast charger to full.
There is no way phone shoukd take hours to wirelessly charge unless there is a problem with the pad, charger or case interfering with wiress charging.
What case are you using? Are there magnets on it? Is it very thick material?

Already mentioned in the OP. Absolutely no issues there.

Mine says "X" time to full, but takes way, way longer in real.

Checked with and without cases(official samsung non-magnetic cases), found no difference.

Hence, charged it when phone was turned off, "gain" was some 8 mins less time to fully charge. So the problem lies elsewhere.

Wait I missed that post above. You said you used an HP Charger and a Samsung Charger on the pad but the Samsung wirelessly charged in an hour and a half wirelessly? What's wrong with that?
Also where and what is the wireless pad sitting on? Wood Table or Desk? Not a bed?

From 53% to 100%, it took 1 hr 31 mins in mine is what I said and that's not right.

I just did 33% - 100% in about 1 hour 18 min which is pretty normal for 15 watt fast wireless charging. The same Samsung 25 watt charger plugged in wired will get you there under an hour. Don't use third party chargers with the wireless pad. Just the Samsung 25 watt one. Really nothing wrong with 1.5 hours wirelessly. These are normal charge times.

Yours same one does, mine does not same way wirelessly like yours. That's the problem. Nothing else.
After about 80% the charging rate ramps down to protect the battery.
At about 90% it will ramp down again and likely yet another time as it approaches 100%; this is normal. New batteries have a higher capacity and will charge longer.
Peak charge rates occur between 6- 72% or so as long as it doesn't exceed about 102F.
Fast charging will not engage for that charge cycle if the start temperature is below about 50-60F or less to protect the battery.
Ideal start temperature is 82-90F, charging is an electrochemical reaction that needs enough heat to function at optimum fast charging rates.
Provide cooling as needed as temperature approaches 98F.
Other possible causes are a defective temperature sensor in the battery, mobo or charging coil. Firmware; corruption or wrong values. A defective coil assembly, C port pcb or mobo.

How long to charge from 27-70%?
The last 20% takes much longer...

I'm gonna have to check on my OnePlus charger. I'll report back if there is an issue.
My old oneplus wireless is working fine, but using an even older oneplus charger with just the cable doesn't charge at all....
