I have a Keedox wall charger with Quick Charger 2.0 for my M9, though it works with fast charging once in 3 charge (don't ask me why)!!
I saw a Car charger with Quick Charge 2.0 on Amazon for just 12$, do you recommend me one or not?
I use my M9 as a car audio device as I put it on a sticky pad on my dashboard + BT, so I wonder if the Quick charger will make the M9 too hot knowing it's a phone that could be hot for nothing

I just got a wall quick charger (randomorder 2.0) that has a LED light on it(changes from green to orange)and I think it has to do with core temp. When I plugged my device in after heavy use it charged average to even slower than the one that came in the box. The LED light was orange'ish green at the time, so I figured I would cycle the battery again and then leave it idle before I tried charging it again. When I did that and let the temp drop, this was the result. The LED light was bright green when I plugged it in this time.

Oops lol didn't see car there. My bad.
I got one of these a week or so ago, and it works fine. Charges fast and doesn't overheat the phone.

As fast or faster than my wall charger. Probably ~2%/minute, though I have not paid that close attention to the numbers.

Do you use the Car app while charging? I heard quick charger 2.0 can mess with the screen responsiveness
Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA Free mobile app
I never use the car app, no. So I can't say.
Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
i heard it won't quick charge the phone anyway if the screen is On, the Car app keeps the screen On, with my wall quick charger 2.0 (that does it once over 4) the phone can get warm (but not too much) and screen can eventually be crazy in the responsiveness. It remembers me of Nexus 1 and DHD times when using the charger + screen get crazy with some roms
I got the Kmashi on Amazon when they were $4.99 after coupon, they work great.
I got the tronsmart 4 port usb car charger (quick charge 2.0)
http://www.amazon.com/Qualcomm-Cert...sim_107_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0PENHH610SCVHYTZ718X
best car charger i have ever used.
I don't have a car charger, but as far as screen response is concerned, I've experienced that with cheaper chargers. I would guess that it has something to do with the current not being correct for the phone, or not staying consistent. I've got the tronsmart wall charger, and now I don't have the same issues as when I had a cheap 2amp charger.
I use an Aukey QC I got via Slickdeals for $9. Works perfectly and charges my phone very fast.

Is that what's going on? I was wondering what the heck was wrong with my charger!
Yup, the car charger still charges my old HTC, even with the Samsung cable... so there's definitely something different inside the charger...

Hmmm will have to look into getting a decent 2A charger then and NOT modifying it...
So I opened up my car charger and un-modded it back to original and it works like a charm now
I've got a 1A Belkin car charger and it seems to overload after a while when charging my gs4.
The green light on it blinks and my phone makes that sound when you plug in the charger.
Takes a while for it to happen but gets more frequent the longer you have it plugged in.
The charger works fine with my gf's nexus 4.

I'm using the Motorola charger (big blue circle). Got it for my Razr Maxx a year or so ago (I've gone through like 4 phones since then) and it works wonderfully. It's the best micro-USB car charger I've ever seen. Coiled cord, huge blue light (but not too bright since it's an ambient-style light), and charges quickly.

Seriously, the best car charger I've ever owned. 950mA is also one of the highest car chargers I've used.

Different USB cables do pass different current even if using the same charging main. From tests I've done so far, a generic 3 ft USB 2.0 cable I randomly purchased online only allowed around 400 mA. An old Blackberry Torch 9810 cable allowed around 1200 mA. Original cable that came with the S4 allows 1900 mA. These numbers are from using the original wall charger main that came with phone.

I know this is a bad subject to bring into discussion but notice the S4 charger for the wall charger charges faster I bought a generic car charger for my last phone and it couldn't even keep up with the charge if I was using the GPS...... Is there a way within the UI to see how much charge the phone is getting? I have a generic USB car charger and I want to know if it's .5, 1, or 2 amps.
Generally I'm happy if I can use Google Maps navigation on a charger without losing any battery % but it would still be nice to know if I'm getting the fastest charge possible.

Generic car chargers, usually offers 700mah or 1000mah for the most.
It seems that getting 2000mah charger is the only good solution.

Just keep in mind battery monitor widget does a best guess calculation on Samsung devices because Sammy refuses to put the code in that reports the actual current. Back on GB on my Captivate one of the roms had the code and it was nice but Samsung in its infinite wisdom deems it more important to include 500MB of bloat and omit this tiny important driver.

Anyone in the US (not sure about other regions) can waltz into a verizon store and pick up one of these:

Price isn't terrible at ~$35. I'm not on verizon and I don't like all the red, but who cares at the end of the day. Also, the USB cable it comes with has a light on the end. which is handier than I thought it would be. IE: stabbing your phone in the butt when trying to charge it in the dark. I do not regret getting this charger for a second.

(If you can't catch it then it's a quick charge... lol!) Yes there is a way, if you plug in a slow charger you will get a pop up message telling you that you are using a slow charger. I charge my m9 from my PC as it has a built-in USB port for fast charging phones, which can even be used if the PC is powered off.

I bought that same charger. Would you be willing to download the free app called Ampere and see what it reports for current when you are using that charger? I am having a very weird issue where Ampere is only reporting about 250mA with that charger but if I use a different charger that is not Qualcomm certified I get upwords of 1500 milliamps. I'm wondering if Ampere is just not capable of handling the calculation on a phone with the Qualcomm Quick Charge technology or if there is something wrong with the charging of my phone.
I just bought these two, and it said I will have them by Sunday; it's Friday!

I just got one of those too, and it's great. Wish it wasn't so big, but it does the job.
I just picked up a couple of Anker dual-USB wall chargers. They have higher amperage (2.4A) than most standard chargers and on both USB ports simultaneously (many dual-USB chargers lower the output when both ports are in use). Between the better charging times, the dual ports and the build quality, I'm very satisfied.
The Anker charger with Qualcomm Quick Charge tech looks even better, but I don't have any experience with it personally.
Show me the link and experience, thanks!

Quick review of the Keedox Quick charger 2.0:
Well it has the official logo of Qualcomm Quick charger 2.0 printed on it but I kinda find it as slow as the stock charger from hTC :crying:
Tested from 45% to 100%
Till 80% it's amazingly fast with 20% every 10min but once over 80% it's slowing down, from 90% to 100% it's extremely slow like 1% every 5 mins
It took 75 mins to charge these 65% while it's supposed to charge from 10% to 100% in an hour (80%)
So we are pretty far from the advertised +70% faster charger.
Take in consideration that I am using Viperom 2.2 for the time being based on 1.40, these Roms are known to have bugs with charging time, so I am waiting for the upcoming Leedroid based on OTA 1.40 Rom to be sure this charger is crap and give a negative review on Amazon.
I am still waiting for my TechMatte car quick charger, my sis still didn't finish to empty her 2 suitcases, girls...
I don't think it's a matter of cable, I am using the same USB 2.0 cable that I used back with the Quick charger of the S6 on the S6, it was charging the S6 from 20 to 100% in 50 mins.

The Aukey quick charger I have does the same type of throttling thing once it gets around that 85% mark. I haven't paid enough attention to my Droid Turbo charger to see if it does the same thing. I figured it was just a safety feature of the Aukey charger.

So these are quick charger only from 0 to 85% !! The S6 stock charger on S6 was also slowing down at 85% but it wasn't that slow, the results were certainly faster.
Again I can't give a definitive conclusion about the Keedox before I try a stable rom based on the official latest OTA

The slowdown at ~80% full is the expected behavior to be easy on the battery. I find the quick charge most valuable when I am about to leave home and I can use the last remaining minutes to cram some juice into the battery. Main charging happens overnight for me without any need to hurry.
The slowdown >90% is behavior I have seen on every phone I have ever owned. It is a safety feature to avoid overcharging the battery. Overcharged li-ion batteries have been known to explode and catch fire, after all.
It may simply be that HTC is more conservative with its batteries than Samsung is.

Hmm ...
Now this makes sense ... Now I get why my charger works lil slower above 85% ...
Updated Viper Rom to 2.3, the Keedox charged my M9 from 34% to 94% in a matter of 35 mins
Thanks!
It looks like the htc m9 is slow with quick charger 2.0 anyway, gsmarena posted a 2h charging time for 0 to 100%.
So my Keedox is not bad after all

My problem with the S7 is that when i use a navigation app and a listen to music while driving, I did the same with an S5, before i had the S7, and the S5 charged with both apps on allways quickly.
More then 20% in 45 min.
With the S7 on the same route it charges almost noting, only 1 or 2%.
I use an original 2.0a Samsung car charger.
Get a qc2.0 car charger.
Yes get a quick charge 2.0 car charger. Bought one off of Amazon since I do the same thing.
i dont think that will work in the car

Thats what i thought also....
An 2.0 is a quick loader in my point of view, and my former S5 charged as quick with the car loader, as with the normal stock loader what comes with the phone (also 2.0a)
And i have tried also other 2.0a loaders from different brands but the all stop loading afther a few months, so then i bought the Samsung i had no problems, until now with the S7......

Yes it will https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=quick+charge+2.0+car
2.0a chargers are not the same as Quick Charge 2.0 chargers.
In the battery menu you can sellect the option fast charge (it is on)
Switch it off and the battery will charge quickly in the car.

thanks, i'll give it a try. was seeing the same thing, and reading quick charge the screen needs to be off. defeats the car intended use.
I actually noticed a 2amp charger only charges between 1-1.5amps, the qc2.0 charger is at almost 3amps.
There's a huge difference between a quick charger And a regular 2 amp charger. Regular charger take forever
