Hello,
i have a Android Car Radio,
i want to install some APPs that arent on the App store, so i downloaded the APK file.
If i click on them and press the install button, on the top left (where the current open APP name is) Package Installer pops up for a sec and instandly dissaperas. No error messages, nothing
The APK file doint get installed.
Is the Package Installer damaged?
How can i fix this? Did i need to update the Firmware / MCU ? If yes, whats the correct Firmware / MCU for me?
Modell: px5 (1024x600)
Android: 8.0.0
Kernel: 4.4.93+
Build-Nummer: px5-userdebug 8.0.0
MCU: MTCE_XRC_v2.85f_2
CPU: 8core 64bit Cortex A53 @ 1,5ghz
Thanks for helping

Recently i was given an android device by a friend.. once i got to looking around at it, it appears to be some generic device from china.
After searching for days, i found the maker as fugetek. I emailed them asking for a release date on OS upgrade (from 4.1.1 -> kitkat) and was informed that " Updates are needed, and won't be made. "
Emailed them again asking for the source / project files they used to build the android OS for this device so i could update it myself...
Here is what they sent me:
(image attached)
As you can see.. these are hardly project files / source files, but rather a flashing tool, a set of " how to " doc's for flashing the device, and a compiled *.img
My Question:
1) Is it possible to extract / mount the img file, and manually upgrade the OS to kitkat witout losing any hardware functionality
2) If it is indeed possible to upgrade the android OS version using the img file as src, does anyone know of a step-by-step guide / tutorial on how this is done.
[EDIT] UPDATE: Seems the PheonixUSBPro flashing utility links to an " Alwinner " PDF when you click help..
I am assuming this is pretty much the same image being passed around by the chinese for their generic 7" Android Devices
From what i'm reading.. this is going to a fun, and somewhat convoluted project
Device Details:

Any help would be most appreciated
If anyone requires the " source " zip they sent me, let me know, and i'll upload it somewhere for you.
I purchased the following Android 5.1.1 rk3188 unit:
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/Car-...luetooth-andrdoid-5-1-system/32805370646.html
The unit runs on android 5.1.1 and uses an rk3188 chip.
I need to root it because I want to install TomTom GO on it, at the moment i cannot install it because TomTom gives a internet connection error when i start the app.
Elsewhere on the forum i found a solution how to fix this, by changing the serialnumber and or devicetype/make/model etc.
To do this my unit needs to be rooted and xposed installed but currently it isn't rooted, i also want to keep using the stock rom because i like the interface and it has a special option for the MINI (mph button) in the interface.
I tried too root it myself but sadly i failed.
I entered *#hct#root# in factory settings and it stated 'adb rooted' (or something) but still i have no root when i run a root check app.
I then rebooted (as advised) and installed the latest version of kingoroot and ran it, sadly this app reports it has failed to root it.
Now my question is how do i root this device without installing a custom rom and install xposed so i can change my serial number to get tomtom go working?

I always used KingoRoot successfully on all 5.1.1 MTCB ROMs. Did you have Internet access when trying to root? Kingo root needs to download files from the Internet, if you're not connected it won't work.

Yes i had internet and it downloaded files also, but root failed.
Maybe i did it wrong....
Should i reboot after i enabled adb root using factory settings password *#hct#root# ?
Is this correct:
- enable (adb) root factory setting
- reboot
- download and run kingoroot
OR
- enable (adb) root factory setting (do NOT reboot)
- download and run kingoroot

Just download and run kingoroot. The "*#hct#root#" code is no longer working on 5.1.1 ROMs

Looks like you're in the wrong section, you have a MTCD unit, not a MTCB/C
You should look for answers HERE

Im currently stuck on android screen lol any help would be greatly appreciated
So I have this tablet, thanks to my little nephew who loaded it up with tons of games and viruses/ads (he's 8 yrs old) so he asked me to repair it for him. My problem is that I can't seem to find any relevant info on this tablet, not even on the manufacturer's website , which i find truly strange not to find it there and it's not a very well designed site either. Does anyone know of any software for this tablet to restore or upgrade firmware on this equipment? Can it be TWRP'd or CWM'd?? Are there any Custom ROM's for it? I'm kind of assuming most answers will be hard no's due to the Intel Processor in this thing.
According to CPU-Z this are the specs:

UPDATE 5/30/2020: I contacted the manufacturer GHIA and they responded quickly indicating this tablet is supposed to match up with the GHIA Agile A7i and even provided me this direct link to download the manual and firmware updates. It contains the IntelAndroidDrvSetup 1.1.5, iSocUSB Driver 1.0.1, and PhoneFlashTool 3.1.8.2 (win32) executables. I couldn't get the 1.1.5 or 3.1.8.2 files to launch, it gave me a "admin user has blocked these programs..." error msg even though I ran them as Admin. So instead, I downloaded updated versions of these programs and they installed fine (IntelAndroidDrvSetup 1.10.0, iSocUSB 1.2.0 & PhoneFlashToolLite 5.8.4.0). I was able to flash the firmware using PhoneFlashToolLite 5.3.2.0 which did give the tablet a better touchscreen response and eliminated the lag i saw originally (process is rather lengthy), but it did remain on kitkat 4.4.2 and no root access. It does offer the option to apply firmware updates locally via the system updates menu (online updates wouldn't connect to network), but I couldn't locate the correct directory in order for the system to recognize them that way.
I'm not familiar at all with the Droidboot Provision OS bootloader, albeit it looks pretty cool and useful. Unfortunately I couldn't find adb/fastboot commands that work with it to unlock the bootloader and be able to flash a custom recovery like TWRP/CWM (perhaps ported?) or get a custom ROM on it either. One major flaw i did noticed though is that not many games from the Google Play Store work at all even though they install but just FC. Surprisingly enough, it did allow you to uninstall any app it comes bundled with, so good for bloatware cleanup. I welcome any feedback anyone may have on this little tablet.
Hello everyone, I am entering the world of android radios, I want to update the android version of my HU.
The main problem is that I have tried several versions of ROM but they give me an error when updating my unit. ¿Can you give me a hand? :ángel: :bueno:
Kernel version
3.10.0
rocky @ hctr930 # 1271
Build number
px5-userdebug 6.0.1 MXC89L user.hct.20171121.160115 test-keys
MCU version
MTCE_LM_v2.72_1 (updated LM_v3.49)
With these data, what version of ROM should I install? I have tried but they all give me error.... : eek:
HCT4_px5_9.0_ota(20190813)
mx4_PX5_8.0_ota(20190219)
px5_9.0_ota_Original UI(20200512)
hct4_px5_9.0_With NEW UI(20200509)
HCT4_px5_10.0_ota(20200624)
The method I have used is the upgrade at boot, copying update.zip and dmcu.img in the root of the sd card, and inserting it in the GPS slot.
The system detects the update and the radio restarts, the android doll comes out with the update applying message, but after a few minutes they give me an error and the update is suspended.:llorando:
