Hi, I have just received my new phone, but when I connect it to the PC via USB cable I only get this attached. How can I make it known as an external memory?
Thanks for your help
Massimo
Run the driver installer from in that cd drive
Then on the phone, swipe down to your notification view and select the charge type notification and select
"Transfer files"

If you go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, do you have the Oneplus drivers in that list?

Unplug your device from your computer. Open up Device Manager. Plug in device. Look for the device in device manager. It may have an odd name, but you'll see something pop up when you plug the phone in. When you find it, right click on it and click "Update Drivers". Then click the "Browse" option. Then select "Let me pick from a list". Then click something along the lines of "Android ADB driver". This should let it properly communicate with your computer and let you browse data files on the phone.

Yes, the same driver will work for MTP. If your computer can successfully communicate with your phone via ADB, then it can transfer data as MTP. Is USB debugging enabled on your phone? And, does ADB actually work right now? When you type "adb devices" in a command prompt, does it give you a device serial?
EDIT: I'm not familiar with the 8.1 Entreprise version, I didn't think it would affect anything, apparently it does

Hi guys. I am having the same problem on Win7 64bit. MTP driver can't be loaded and therefore can't use file transfer for my One. Can't find Media Feature Pack for my Win7 either.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Same problem here with CM11S 05Q and OSX, Android File Transfer can't see my OPO and on screen I don't have any notification about MTP, debug and camera mode
After upgrading to marshmallow, the internal storage is no longer accessible from my computer. It only works when on twrp recovery mode. Already turned off USB debugging, changed MTP and back, reinstalled the latest ADB drivers, removed the ADB drivers completely and no cigar. Anyone else going through this?
I think you have to pull down the notification shade and search MTP. I can't remember what I did (you only have to do this once) but you can go to Settings, Developer options, Select USB Configuration (under Networking), and select MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) to enable this.
For 6.0 and up the internal storage, like lollipop was not allowede to be accessed on your computer even with mtp or media transfer protocol selected on your dev options. What i highly suggest for you is to tryother methods such as use stickmpunt from chainfire or try an app like airdroid to transfer files from your phone to the comp or vice versa

You pull down the notification shade and tap the USB icon, switch the MTP. I have to do this every time, regardless of the option set in developer settings.
With the mtp checked will you be able to transfer files on 6.0? I failed for it on my computer here though

This way works out of the box for me (of course You should do that AFTER You connect Your Marshmallow phone to the pc ). I didn't activate dev options. Windows 8.1

Hi all,
I'm having trouble connect my onePlus with a computer, I have tried using my Mac (running El-Capitan) and also a PC (running windows 7)
On the PC I look at the device manager and my OPO is displayed as "Unknown device", I tried to go trough a lot of tutorials and reinstall some Samsung drivers but with not lack.
On my mac I have tried to use "Android File Transfer" application but when I launch it I see this message: "No Android device found Please connect your Android device with a USB cable to get started."
When I plug the OPO to the computer (PC or Mac), I see an icon in the status bar for 1 sec and then its gone.
When I tried to go to Storage -> three dots icon -> USB computer connection nothing happens, I see that the "internal storage bar is turing grey and that it recalculate the storage size of each content type (App, Pictures etc.) but there is NO option to toggle between MTP, PTP or something else.
I'm running CM 12.0 V. YNG11TAS17L (5.0.2) on the OPO with 64GB
Also I have enabled the "Developer options" and there I have enabled "Android debugging" and "Debugging notify"
Please help me, I'm dealing with this issue for some time now.
Did you installed sdk?
Did you instaled prospered 5.1 usb drivers from sdk?
Otherwise install pda+client for windows.
Do I need to install the SDK? is it not enough to just install the phone drivers (in this case the Samsung drivers)? all I want is the be able to access the phone libraries.
Otherwise install pda+client for windows.

did you mean installing PdaNet+?
Try the section called "If you cannot get the connection to work" in my OnePlus X rooting guide. It walks you through solving this issue, and will also work on a OnePlus One with Windows 7.

I have tried to follow the link that you sent but I got stuck on
3. If you still have a yellow exclamation point, then try forcing the driver to install:
In Device Manager, right-click on the device and select “Update Driver Software.”
Select “Browse my computer for driver software”
Select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”
Select “ADB Interface” from the list
Select manufacturer “Google”
Select “Android Testing Interface Version xxx”
Click “Next.” If you get a warning, select “Yes” to continue and wait for the driver to install properly.

I don't gave the ability to select “ADB Interface” and "manufacturer “Google”", by default the "Show compatible hardware" in check and I only see 1 line with the value "Unknown Device", when I uncheck "Show compatible hardware" I see a list of manufactures but "Google" is not on the list, in the letter "G" I only see "Granite"
Please help me

Yes, and I restart my PC after that.
Does anyone have any other ideas? is this a OnePlus OR CM issue? can I fixed it by replacing the OS to OxygenOS? also if I just want to make a backup of all the phone (in order to change the OS) is there any way of doing that without fixing the connection? maybe passing the data over Wi-Fi.
Please help me
Thanks
try a few different cables that you know are 'good'
I have tired to use all the cables that I have at home, including the original OPO cable (the red one)

If that doesn't work, try a different computer.
I cannot connect my DOOGEE Y300 to my Windows 10 PC as USB storage. The PC makes the usual sound when making a USB connection but the phone does not appear in Windows Explorer. The phone appears as "phone" in "Devices and Printers" but I have not been able to enable it. Has anyone else had this problem (and fixed it).

There should be a notification on the device when you connect it, pull that notification down and it might say its connected to device for charging, tap that notification and see if it pops another menu up with more options, select MTP for file transfer.

Do you have the USB drivers for your device installed? The drivers that auto install when you connect to PC are not always enough. There should be drivers for your device brand that can be downloaded and installed manually.
Is your device recognized in device manager?

Just got the 6 today. Connected it to my Win10 pc to transfer files and notice that the internal storage/phone is not showing in windows explorer. Spent the next few minutes installing OnePlus drivers, changing cables, etc. all to no avail. I am unable to get the phone to show in windows explorer with USB Debugging checked along when using MTP. However, if I deselect USB Debugging, the phone now shows in windows explorer along with all files and folders. I have done a hard reset - which actually put me in a bootloop for an hour or so - thanks to OnePlus Support. Upon resolving the bootloop, my phone was completely wiped and set it up again. I still have the same issue. The only item that shows in windows explorer when USB Debugging is connected is the drivers folder for OnePlus - see image 1. I also have an error in device manager for MTP - see image 2.
I currently have the 5T and have no issues viewing it in windows explorer with USB Debugging selected. Also, if I select PTP (pictures) rather than MTP, it shows in windows explorer albeit with only two folders DCIM / Pictures.
Any suggestions are certainly appreciated as I am sure when I call OnePlus Support back in the AM they will be clueless and tell me to ship the phone back.
Thanks, in advance!

Mine works like this.
Plug up the phone to the computer pull down your notification bar and select PTP
It will show only the DCIM folder
Now pull the notification bar down again and switch to transfer files and there you go

Per TWRP's site, "MTP is disabled because it causes a kernel panic sometimes with the stock kernel."
Haven't actually tried your suggestion, but I will next time.

Why not instead of risking panic, just use an OTG drive?
adb push should work fine
