Thanks bro, you're a life saver.... I flashed Havoc and Descendant OS... they were generally buttery smooth and incredibly snappy, but since both lacked fingerprint scanner, I tried switching back... phone is still in a bootloop... about to flash the rom you linked.... fingers crossed...

On havoc and descendant os, is the camera quality still good? Photo and video?
If FP still issue, how about unlock with face unlock? Is that work well?
Thankyou

On havoc, camera is not stable, it will not take photos if there is not external sd card. Otherwise, camera quality is just okay..
Face unlock, I did not try...

Any ideas why I can't flash system.img via twrp? It tells me I can't flash a system image to a file partition or something. I've had to use Odin to flash it by converting to a tar.md5

All ROMs from 9.5.19 onwards are antirollback enabled ROM.. upgrading to these ROMs enables ARB4
If you want to stay on arb3 then flash firmware less MIUI10 ROM
Ok guys quick question. I have updated to this rom, now i face a issue with my SIM 1 where the signal drops very frequently and on putting the phone in airplane mode and back to normal is restoring the signal as well as internet connectivity. Did anyone else face the issue? I can confidently say that I never faced this issue while on MIUI 9.5.14

Think of fastboot as Bios of any computer and recovery as DOS/Windows trouble shoot.
Modems and and recoveries are not recommended to be flashed via recovery hence fastboot.
Another analogy, think of making computer overclocks via a software vs via bios. Software is easier but less accurate. Bios are harder but dead on accurate. That's the difference in lay man terms between flashing anything via recovery and fastboot.
Hope I am not wrong.

Generally xposed doesnt work on latest Oreo MIUI roms. I could never install xposed when I was on MIUI 9.5.14. Used to give bootloops like you said.

Every ROM results in bootloop

So I have some experience with flashing Custom Roms, but I think I might be doing something wrong with the Mi Mix 3.
I unlocked the bootloader, installed the latest Version of TWRP (twrp-3.3.0-0-perseus), wiped all data and tried to flash Resurrection Remix v7.0.2 via Sideload, but after this resulted a bootloop with the MI logo when trying to boot, I tried to flash the Lineage OS 16, same result. Then I tried to install them as usual. Do you have an idea why this is happening?
Do you have the right vendor image installed? The vendor image for each room is different some use the Chinese one, others are using the global one. Check the room threads. The OP should tell you.

Wiping isn't enough, you need to format data
Try this
1.format data
2.flash eu firmware 9.5.9
3.let it boot
4.reboot to TWRP and wipe
5.flash 9.2.15 firmware (to have proximity sensor working) without rebooting flash Los and gapps
6.flash magisk if you like
7. Reboot

You may want to use the Xiaomi Mi Flash tool to restore using an image. I'm guessing you have mismatched vendor partitions, which is probably the cause of your issue. You can find instructions in the guides section.

Phone boots only into recovery, how to fix?

I've flashed 3.4.0-15][surya] recovery then flashed lineageos and havoc but the wifi wasn t working so I tried to flash the original rom but it just boots into recovery
Please help guys?

Most probable you did not Format data after you flashed the stock ROM. Download the fastboot of the stock ROM you wanna use, unzip it and flash it with MiFlash tool.

Even though I get this message error the phone booted the rom, weird...
So can I try flashing other roms like lineageos using this tool or do I need twrp? Could the wifi error on the other roms be from not properly formatting the folders?

Yeah, you got that error because you did not lock your bootloader, but ROM will work just fine. You can use MiFlash for stock ROMs only.
The Wi-Fi problems are usually related by flashing the custom ROM from the wrong stock firmware and vendor version. Just read the first page (OP) of the ROM you wanna flash and see what version of the stock ROM is needed (most of them ask for 12.0.3.0 version, but some ask for 12.0.2.0 or 12.0.4.0).

If you already unlock. Then flash with fastboot, phone will lock again. And you can instant unlock again because your Mi Account have permission to unlock your device.
