Every ROM results in bootloop - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Questions & Answers

So I have some experience with flashing Custom Roms, but I think I might be doing something wrong with the Mi Mix 3.
I unlocked the bootloader, installed the latest Version of TWRP (twrp-3.3.0-0-perseus), wiped all data and tried to flash Resurrection Remix v7.0.2 via Sideload, but after this resulted a bootloop with the MI logo when trying to boot, I tried to flash the Lineage OS 16, same result. Then I tried to install them as usual. Do you have an idea why this is happening?

Do you have the right vendor image installed? The vendor image for each room is different some use the Chinese one, others are using the global one. Check the room threads. The OP should tell you.

Wiping isn't enough, you need to format data

Try this
1.format data
2.flash eu firmware 9.5.9
3.let it boot
4.reboot to TWRP and wipe
5.flash 9.2.15 firmware (to have proximity sensor working) without rebooting flash Los and gapps
6.flash magisk if you like
7. Reboot

I've tried to use the china dev rom but it won't boot

You may want to use the Xiaomi Mi Flash tool to restore using an image. I'm guessing you have mismatched vendor partitions, which is probably the cause of your issue. You can find instructions in the guides section.

Hi all!
It works fine and I'm not a beta tester. I was on 8.2.4.0 Stable (global).
How I installed this rom:
- reboot to recovery (TWRP 3.02)
- do a backup
- install this rom
- wipe cache/dalvik/art, wipe data
- reboot and done
In the market app type "google" and get the google installer if you want Gapps.

[GUIDE] Install Oreo Custom ROMs via TWRP

Good day to everyone! I wish to provide proper steps on how to install the latest Oreo custom ROMs via TWRP in order to lessen the clutter in the custom ROM threads.
You'll need the following:
Latest TWRP Official (Fastboot TWRP)
Latest TWRP Installer (PERMANENT TWRP)
Considering you already installed TWRP via fastboot, we'll make it so that it will be permanently installed and you will not need to flash TWRP via bootloader again.
Download ROM + GApps (or no gapps if Pixel Experience)
Reboot to latest Official TWRP
Do necessary wipes (FORMAT data if having storage number issue; if not, wipe system/data/cache) then transfer ROM + gapps + magisk to internal/external storage
Flash ROM (don't reboot)
Flash latest TWRP Installer (for Permanent TWRP)
Reboot recovery (no need to transfer slots anymore as TWRP does it automatically)
Flash Gapps + Magisk
Reboot to system
To DIRTY FLASH or update the same ROM with an updated version
Reboot to recovery
Flash ROM
Flash TWRP Installer
Reboot recovery
Flash Gapps + Magisk
Reboot to system
For installing custom kernels
Download custom kernel
Reboot recovery
Flash custom kernel
Reboot to system
All of these has been tried and tested by me already.
Hey , where to flash rom??
As you have written gapps + magisk , gapps + magisk twice

Guys, TWRP Installer IS the Permanent TWRP. That's why you need to flash it every time after flashing custom ROMs.

With custom ROMs we have to install Twrp installer every time along with ROM zip, bit awkward.
Is it just me but every time I flash twrp after flashing rom, I got error 20 when flashing gapps. Here's my steps:
- flash rom
- switch partition
- flash twrp
- reboot recovery (or bootloader then flashboot recovery)
- flash gapps -> error 20
Without flashing twrp permanent, I can flash gapps, no error.

Yep. That's because the ROM being flashed overwrites the recovery since there's no recovery partition.

If we need to flash it every time after flash rom so how it's called permanent TWRP I don't understand. That because our device don't have recovery partition? If that so where this TWRP installed ( in which partition)?

It's called permanent twrp because it won't get replaced by built in recovery whenever you reboot to recovery from system. TWRP gets installed within a part of the system partition.

Yes, I certainly use the right one (8.1), that's why I was baffled when twrp says that my device is 7.1.2 every time I tried to flash the 8.1 gapps. Anyway, flashing rom then straightaway followed by gapps and magisk was fine. I can flash twrp installer later on. But I just don't understand why.

Well that's weird. Works for me by flashing Gapps and Magisk after rebooting to recovery since it switches slots when you do that. Did you possibly come from a Nougat ROM which is why that's the error showing up?

Having a hard time installing new ROM to my Mi MIX 3, is anyone able to give advice

Hi everyone sorry to bother you all again (this is my 2nd post in one day lol)
I have been using Pixel Experience ROM on my global Mi MIX 3 for a while, going great but I decided I want to try out the Lineage OS ROM so I made a TWRP backup, copied the backup external and then wiped the phone. Now I wipe my phone via TWRP and then try to install the LineageOS ZIP. but i get an error code 7, which google says is because the ROM isn't compatible with my phone.
OK no problem, so I try to restore to my backup, but that will not complete, unknown error during restoring data partition. Not so sure about this, but nothing important backed up, happy to start again so I give up with the backup. I download the latest global MIUI rom from xiamoi (perseus_global_images_V10.2.2.0.PEEMIXM_20190228.0000.00_9.0_global_5c0bb91b94.tgz) and try to flash via MiFlash tool but it tells me error "device and image mismatch" which sounds strange... so i try the latest china global MIUI rom from xiaomi (perseus_images_V10.3.1.0.PEECNXM_20190330.0000.00_9.0_cn_2ca826a027.tgz) and this one works, i am booted back into working chinese MIUI.
I am global phone so no idea why global xiaomi TGZ is an image mismatch but china is fine? Not a huge deal because I do not want this ROM anyway, so I install TWRP again and try to install LineageOS rom one more time, still get error 7. Now I am really confused. I would be so happy for anyone's help

Bootloop in the logo of MI.

Hi. Sorry my bad english. It is not my native language.
I have a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 that was originally Chinese. with miflash install a global ROM, without any problem.
Now and wanted to try the customized ROMs. I have already tested several official and unofficial TWRPs. several tutorials and I could not boot the ROM restarted in the logo of MI.
I've also tried several guides and nothing. the same result install without any problem but not start, just restart and restart.
Can someone give me advice about what I'm doing wrong? In advance thanks for the help.
I will be on the lookout. Greetings.
Welcome to the forum! Your English is fine mate.
Did you do a factory reset in TWRP before you booted?
Hi, thanks for answering.
I've done it in several ways. Format data with yes to avoid encryption problems. then a factory reset. and proceed to install the ROM and nothing. infinite restarts.
I have also tried after this to do another factory reset and install ROM and also formatting everything except the internal unit manually.
What I was thinking is if it has something to do with having Xiaomi's account and has not closed it before.

[HELP] After Updated to MIUI 12.5.1 Flashed TWRP and Magisk >> Resulted Bootloop

Buddies, please urgent help. I flashed V12.5.1.0.RJKMIXM without problem and it was working. I had lost twrp and magisk and thought it won't be a problem to flash them back. By a silly mind I flashed twrp and magisk 21.4.zip again. Now The phone doesn't boot and bootloop after MIUI screen. I have very important data on my phone and I can't see data partition. From twrp, When I click select storage, internal Storage (0.00 MB) seems 0 MB. I never clicked on wipe data option after flashing magisk. I only wiped dalvik and cache.
How can I save my data? It seems there is no fastboot rom to flash. I am downloading recovery ROM again to give it a try. I hope it saves me. Please give me suggestions if you have any.
thanks beforehand... :'(

Yes maybe I faced the issue by my mistake... By the way I removed all screen locks and then flashed twrp and rebooted twrp again. But I can't see internal storage again after rebooting twrp. I think There is a problem with twrp on Android 11.

V12.5.1.0.RJKMIXM is an beta stable.
Maybe flashed the last fastboot rom(V12.2.6.0.RJKMIXM) with Miflash to restore the phone correctly and then the V12.5.1.0.RJKMIXM.

I was on 12.0.4 before this ROM. I searched on poco forums and everybody is experiencing the same problem after TWRP install. It seems twrp isn't compatible with A11. I found another twrp. I will try it now. It is twrp-3.5.2-0-lmi-manuelbianco.img

Yes as you said all twrp versions are the same. It is due to A11. I will try to root the device with boot.img.
I need root for backing up apps with swift backup app. I also need it for some apps.
I realized that I can see internal storage data without formatting the phone. I just changed TWRP from ManuelBlanco's to LR Team's via fastboot and the internal storage became visible. I think this is easier than formatting the whole phone every time changing ROM.
However Magisk pathched boot.img doesn't work. Phone bootloops with that boot. I reflashed original boot.img I don't know why Magisk doesn't work properly...

I reflashed recovery ROM and the phone booted normally thanks to Allah.
What should I do to get TWRP and Magisk Root back again? Or is it possible at that moment?
