Screen Protectors - Sony Xperia 1 Accessories

Is there any good screen protectors out there?

I don't have my 1 yet, or these screen protectors, but once I have both I'll post my comments. I ordered them based on reviews for other phones since the 1 is so new.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07NZLK1FH/ref=pe_3187911_185740111_TE_item

I bought this screen protector https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07PCM2HCY/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . I just fitted it and it only covers the flat part of the phone but just about covers the whole screen. Theres only a cutout for speaker. Not the camera or sensor. Its also full adhesive.
Also bought this case https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07PF8BDQV/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . Its a bit bulky but offers good protection.

Screen knight typical do a good one. Their are some up now on eBay.

VGUARD [3 Pack] Compatible with Sony Xperia 1 Screen Protector, [Full Coverage] Tempered Glass Film, [9H Hardness] [Anti-Scratch] [Case Friendly], Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07LBTD8R4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ngp.CbYH8F6WN
Just bought these and applied one, easiest screen protector I've ever done and it's perfect !

Someone please report to us here if you are fortunate enough to find a screen protector that meets the following conditions:
1. Tempered Glass
2. Full Adhesive (not just glue around the edges)
3. Fully clear (no coloured edges as that's usually an indication for not being full adhesive)
4. Full cover (covers the entire screen rather than leaving huge gaps to avoid the curved part of the phone's screen)
5. No dotted pattern on the screen (can be quite visible under sunlight)
6. Smooth surface
7. Not a damn fingerprint magnet
8. Very high transparency (doesn't take away from the beauty of the 4k HDR display)
If we get our hand on something like this, we're all winning the lottery next week as both will require some serious heavenly luck...

I bought one from ultimate shield. I have been using them for a while they provide great quality and bubble free screen protectors. Only downside are the visible dots in direct sunlight.
https://www.ultimateshield.co.uk/co...ny-xperia-xz4-tempered-glass-screen-protector

All protectors that come with a coloured frame around the edges are NOT full adhesive.
The full adhesive ones provide better screen clarity however most of them don't cover the entire screen due to the slight curvature on the phone. So you end up with a "halo effect" which can be annoying to look at.
Has anyone found a worthy screen protector for this phone yet?

I buy this

Hi the screen protector you bought does it cover all the display that is lit up as some of the ones that are smaller then the display can see at the edges of the protector it make the edges interfere with the display?
Thanks

Take a picture of it installed if you don't mind.

I got the Skinomi full body screen protector yesterday. Used that with my XZP in the past. Easy to install, no bubbles, and "self heals" some scratches. Plus, comes with a lifetime warranty in the event that it gets punctured or something. Highly recommend!
Full body comes with front and back protector, plus all sides.

Does it fully adhere to the screen? Or is it raised around the edges?

I usually go the Skinomi route for all my devices. I was just hoping that the screen was flat enough for a tempered glass protector.

i did however get a few bubbles(?) by the home button. overall very pleased.

Thanks for the photos. From your third photo, it looks like the screen protector covers 1mm over the left edge of the actual screen. Is this similar on the right side?
I actually have their HD Clear on mine right now and it's great.
That may be my fitment, i layed it twice... but it looks like if it would of been .30mm wider it would of been tits. Or maybe if i shifted over .15mm i would of been good. But this looks good enough for the girls i date

Tks for the pics...the tempered galss is realy good...

So here are some pics of the Zagg. Halo free.

Right now, there are three types of glass out there.
1) Flat glass cut to the size of the screen. Since the edges of the screen are rounded, the edges of the glass don't adhere. This produces what people call a "halo" effect, because the part of the glass not sticking will appear white, creating a white ring around the outside of your screen.
2) Flat glass cut to fit only on the flat part of the screen. It stops before it reaches the curvature of the screen, and therefore doesn't extend to the edges. In my opinion, it looks bad, I'd be constantly scraping my finger along the edge, and it's not even protecting my entire front of my phone, so what's the point?
3) Curved glass cut to fit the entire front of the phone, edge-to-edge. There aren't many of these out there and reviews are really just trickling in. I started a thread for discussion of them, but no content as of yet. I'm hoping that the glass makers will wise up and go this way.
So 2.5d means it should cover the whole screen edge to edge? Haven't managed to find any like this yet

2.5d means that the edge of the screen protector has a curve to it. This makes the glass screen protector less prone to nicks and cracking.

I think it's how its applied. I bought a pair, I forgot what brand but I bought one for my girl and 2 came in the package. I put hers on first and there's the halo around the edges, but I put mine on and there's none to be seen.

Tempered glass

Anyone know of a Tempered Glass protector that goes reasonably close to the edges? I have this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017D763IK/ and it is terrible. Bunch of space around the edges and halo effect.
You won't find any that goes to the edge per the curve
But I've been using this for a few weeks and it has minimal halo effect (possibly none had I aligned it perfectly)

I ordered these and they fit great. They fit just to the edge of the display panel which is how it should be or else there will be halo because the glass starts to curve after that.

Buy a nilkin 9 h+. It's as close to the edges as you'll get on the screen, and it has a 2.5D edge, making it smooth. No complains with my tempered glass as I knew this would happen with a 2.5D glass phone.

Those were not 2.5D. IPhone 6 onwards is, and it uses smaller screen protectors too due to the curves at the edges of the screen. Even galaxy edge products. Nothing can't be done about that as the glue won't stick on curved glass. I wouldn't call it an "issue". It's very basic imo.
I'll try adding pictures, but you can also check them out on the nillkin website. Those are very accurate. The actual product is exactly like that portrayed on the website.

I just bought two of the Mr. Shield tempered glass protectors for me and the wife's phones. It goes all the way to the edge of the (very) small black borders of the display. No air bubbles, and very easy to apply. Cost 8 dollars each and came in 2 days with Prime.

Bezel Cases

If anybody is able to find any kind of plastic covering for the Bezel please let me know. I'm not very happy with how easy it is to scratch the bezel and already have a few decent scuffs and scratches on it. Hoping I find some sort of manufacture defect so I can take it in and get a new one to not have to look at these scratches.

Honestly the pictures look like it only covers the front screen and back but I can't be certain on that. If it covers the bezel then it would be separate from the screen protector itself, so that the bezel could still be used.

I'm unable to find any demos of what it uses and how it applies. Only stuff for phones. Happen to have a way to demonstrate how this product works? I'm not too keen dropping 16$ on a product I haven't seen anything on. Furthermore, there doesn't seem to be a product with just the body skin, it's a body and screen combo. I was hoping to use a glass protector as I think film protectors are weakand don't actually help against shattering.
If you want the bezel, sides, front, back and screen protected, you need this one:
http://www.skinomi.com/sk27199-gear-s3-frontier-watch-skin-protector.html
I just installed it (better have a ton of time and patience). It is drying now - seems to be decent to the eye, but I cannot comment much since I have not worn it outside yet and bumped the watch into things to see how it holds up.

The full body skin one from Skinomi has a thin circle of material that covers the top (flat) part of the bezel to keep it from getting scratched. It does not cover down over the fluted edges of the bezel, so you can still grip them with your fingers. HTH

Glass protector on the bottom shot was a little dirty - forgot to wipe it off before taking the photo.
I installed the matte version and it is pretty nice. Installation level = Expert. Patience is required because it comes with tiny pieces that is hard to maneuver on the device. Tools that may help you install: magnifying glass, bright light and toothpick Also I didn't bother installing the protection that touches my skin. Only did the bezel, screen and the sides. Dry time is needed so install it before you go to bed so you can enjoy your watch the following day ^_^

What's your Essential PH-1 protection?

This is what I went with initially
Skin: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075B4BSS8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Screen: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075VMCN1J/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My take on things, The screen protector is working great and comes with black borders so it's hard to mess up ad no halo effect. The skin on the back will do for now, fits perfectly but I really need Ringke Fusion case for this baby.
So what is your choice?

I think the rainbow is from my displays, ordered another screen protector to compare

Just coated my all phone. It's feel so slippery....reminds me oleophobic coating.
All around never bad idea for additional 9H protection+less finger prints, easy to clean + extremely shiny
@andril Is this one of those screen protectors with the black borders that does "full coverage"? Or is it smaller than the screen? Hard to see in the pics

It covers the whole screen, fully protected and camera cut out. A little smaller to case friendly.

Alternative tempered glass.

Hello, I am planning to buy the device, in my country it is difficult to find tempered glasses for Xiaomi.
What other tempered glass fits the mi 9t?

Greetings. Does the fingerprint scanner work well with the glass?
Cheers, I've got a random tempered glass off Amazon, for about 9€ for two pieces. It doesn't seem to affect the fp-reader. Though I get mixed results overall. I hope going to eu rom improves the reliability. It feels a bit hit or miss. But thats not the glass' fault
I bought Nillkin XD MAX Full Coverage Screen Protector.
Looks good !

Does it cover curved edges? (I mean, is there any space around the tempered glass?)

Yes it is cover, and case friendly.
Maybe slightly smaller at the corners (~0.5mm)
Hello
I've used "A-VIDET temperd glass Mi 9T" on Amazon (ASIN : B07SM81G7Q) and no problem ! They give an "oil" to prevent white edge !

Hi all,
did anyone find a full-cover / 3D protector that doesn't cut away some pixels at the edge of the display? Seems all of the full cover screen protectors have this issue. I wish there was an alternative. I'm using the official case so I don't mind if the screen protector is a bit rough at the edge since it will blend over to the edge of the case anyway. But loosing a few pixels on every side of the display is a big no for me.
Thanks.

Agree, a big no for me too. I ordered one from AliExpress and was very disappointed, fortunately the seller was reasonable. I suggest you take a look at https://www.protectionfilms24.com/c...-sort=bestResult&searchfield=Xiaomi+Redmi+K20 > I've ordered a few through the years for different phones and was always satisfied. Since the screen edges are round, it'll be hard to find edge-to-edge protector, but if anyone manages to find it, please respond (with pictures).

I totally agree. I'm using this one myself. Easy to apply, good fit and hardly visible when applied.
Got bubbles after applying? Don't worry within 24h they are gone.

Bro i replaced my old tempered with hydrogel film for best fit, unlike the tempered glass i used before, it is not fit so well due to the screen is slightly curved. ???
I bought it on shoppee. ???
Bought a screen cover from here, https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Xiaomi-Mi-9T-Tempered-Glass-Screen-Protector-CRYSTAL-CLEAR/183856074868 incredibly bad doesn't cover the edge of the screen just hangs in there. The hydrogel I bought is on the way but takes a long time to deliver and I'm hopeful about its capabilities. If its quality the structure should be really resistant to damage but not so sure about cracks. Also bought another glass protector will test that out also soon if it arrives.
Hydrogel is best solution because it stretches and can cover curved edges, BUT it is much worse to the touch. I had it on my honor 9 for two years. And playing games with hydrogel is unpleasant because fingers slides with difficulties (on glass it slides easy and smooth.)
Hydrogel is good for about 6-8months, then it is better to replase with a new one because it becoums blury and you can see glue under protector. Buy one with tool for easy apply. Hydrogel is harder to aply thannold style screen films because it stretches.
