Tizen 4.0.0.4 out now - Samsung Gear Sport

The new Tizen update with one UI is out now for the gear sport, I just downloaded out this morning in the UK [emoji41]

It has been out for a while. I suppose it depends on region.
IMO it is not any great improvement. It is supposed to be better for battery life, but seems to be the opposite.
Also, I'm not a fan of the new quick settings UI.

Ah I didn't realise that it had already come out for the gear sport in other regions, still it's arrived in the UK now.
What do you find troublesome with the quick settings UI Simbo?

No big deal, I just preferred the previous look.
Also, in the change log it said there were new watch faces but I haven't found any anywhere.

Ah right, yeah there's no new watch faces pre installed with the update but I did notice a couple of new ones in the galaxy app store but their not customisable, I wouldn't use them.

so.. anyway to downgrade from 4.0.0.4 to the 4.0.0.0 firmware? Gear Pro and iOS user and Facer user. 4.0.0.4 totally breaks Facer on the Gear Sport if you are using it with an iPhone device.

I am not a developer . .but I want to change my CSC code from Singapore to the UK. my device is the Gear S3 (SM-R760) It is fully updated . . Is there an easy way to do this. . .?
My signature is not up to date. . .

I am a newbie on wearables, but have rooted phones before. I have a gear S3 frontier SM-R760. latest software tizen 4.0.0.4. etc. . .
I want to change from Singapore where I bought the gear to the UK.
What is the simplest route (preferred) or root??

I live in Ireland, we get the same BTU firmware you do. There was a 4.1.2 update (N8010XXUCMG1) during the week maybe thats what they were talking about.
Yeh, I expect he was just winding me up! Thankyou for your help

Has Samsung commented on officially if this will get the update. Seems like Samsung forgot about us. Feels like the of note 1 which seems to have been overshadowed by the note 2.

well they have updated the tab 2 to 4.2 and also the note 2 to 4.3. Also they need more devices to support the Gear so it would stand to reason that we would get the update to 4.3
Yeh I suppose

Well obviously Samsung is pushing the updates for the gear watch. I just don't see how a 10 inch tablet would be practical for the gear. This 4.3 update came really quick considering 4.3 just came out. Hell the s2 might even get an update as many people have it on prepaid carriers and also a lot probably got the phone free on contract. I doubt kit kat will come as quick to any Sammy devices they will probably have the attitude that be grateful we gave you an update...seriously considering nexus 5/6 for my next phone

Give me a reason that Samsung will release the update for note 10.1 2012 edition.
I guess it will no more update the 4.x ROM on the old note 10.1 to somehow force the people buy the 2014 edition.

I have given you a reason. Also they updated the tab 2 despite the tab 3 being out. i think there will be one more update but that said i dont think it will bring that many new features if any.

Dont forget, some of us are using the phone model N8000 or similar and definitely would like to get Gear working with Note 10.1. It is funny that Samsung makes updates for pocket phones (easy to carry, easy to be taken out) but where is the update for a tablet size phone?? Who needs more Gear: a person having S3 in his front pocket or a person carrying his Note 10.1 in a bag? Also with 10.1 you cannot share your SNote files anymore because phones having 4.3 has newer version of SNote and hence new file extension. You dont see how Gear would be practical a phone sized 10.1? But you think it ispractical for people who are carrying their phones in pockets? If i had a phone in my pocket, I wouldnt even consider to buy Gear (it doesnt offer any practical use for that price).
I think Im going to get Sony Smartwatch 2 for a xmas for myself. I definitely need a smartwatch working with my huge one...

Only one reason? Note 10.1 is incompatible with other Note-serie phones/tablets havng newer SNote app. We arent happy at work. Actually we are quite angry. We cannot share our SNote files anymore between people in a project group. Samsung changed their own application, SNote, to be incompatible with phones not having 4.3. Some of us bought GN3 and made changes to shared SNote files and no one cannot open the file anymore. Is this enough?
Note 10.1 (2012) is barely a year old device, should be a member of Samsung premium line, so called flagships. What premium is owning a phone without support? Remember that Note serie is marketed also for business and schools. They dont chance their devices every 6-12 months. Only premium seems to be the price....

I can see your point, for me though if I am not using my tablet it I turn it off. A phone for my usage serms more practical. When charging or when in pocket I can check email or text. Then again I hate wearing watches and love that phone have made wearing a watch not important. Not really liking the idea of the smart watch

My opinion S5 all de way!!
I think better GALAXY S5
It's totally your choice.
LG G3 has QHD display and a decent battery life, buy this phone if you watch movies, play games and surf a lot. It also has one of the best mobile camera. Lolllipop update has been started rollung on both the phones buy The GalaxyS5 if you want a phone with Samsung legacy, TouchWiz, fingerprint sensor(cheated right) and water resistance(cheated too).
But I will suggest you Nexus 6, since you will get new updates earliest and it also has upgraded chipset:thumbup:

You can also have a look at the One Plus One, it has all what you need. It has the Cyanogen OS, so it is filled with tweaks. It has a decent camera and a good battery life. Plus it is cheaper than its counterparts.

On the fence between NEW Motor 360 and Gear S2

I've been following these two devices closely, and I was wondering which of the two would you prefer. I'm inclined to the S2, but the GPS capabilities on the 360 Sport is pulling me the other way. Any comments?
Same here. I love the customization on the moto 360, regular 46mm one, and personally I like android wear, with massive watchface support. But also intrigued with gear s2 classic and the use of the bezel, nfc for Samsung Pay. I'm just not sure about app support, watchface support on the gear s2
Moto
Both nice but just can't take tizen anymore. That and Samsungs arrogance in pricing. They are becoming apple with pricing and they are suffering for it.

I don't even think it's about tizen, I think it's because Samsung keeps locking their watches to their phones only.

Well the new Gear S2 should work with any android device.
But yea, that's the only reason I gave up my Gear 2 for a Moto 360. The Gear 2 was only for Samsung products. I had switched from my laggy Note 4 to a Nexus 6.
EDIT: ok, maybe not ANY android device. But a lot. HERE.
I own both. The Old Moto 360 and gear 2 neo. The moto looks great but it's rather useless. The apps are generally about the same for both tizen and google. All and all, useless. The gear 2s best feature without a doubt us being able to use the each as a phone and talk. It works fantastic while driving. The speaker is also a huge plus. The new moto 360 still does not have a speaker, a massive letdown. If you are stuck on a moto, I would just get a gen 1 moto 360. The gen 2 is hardly worth the high price, it's almost the same as gen 1. Long winded but a honest reply.

Because that's what they've been told. Most probably haven't even tried both. They are honestly about the same with the same apps. The apps for both are rather useless. I prefer tizen for the better battery life. The apps are nearly identical. I use my gear 2 neo way more than my moto 360.

When ?
Incorrect. I believe this is only for the 3G. I have a regular Classic and no update in Utah, USA.
Not necessarily, by the current trend US is the last to get the updates. Plus updates roll out, meaning not immediately available across all devices in all countries at once.

Yeah but this update has hit the States already. I think its specific to certain companies as a strategy.
Tmobile in SC just got the update

Had to trigger it manually throigh the gear app
So according to the link above the new version will be:
R730TUVU1AOL3
My S2 3G on ATT latest software version as of this post is:
R730AUCU1AOL3
I believe the 730T vs 730A has to do with TMOBILE vs ATT. Not sure about the V vs C in the code though. My initial thoughts are the last 4 digits might be the significant ones.
