[Q] Suggest me a handset between 16-20k

Hi everyone. After proudly using one of the root android handset of all time , i am planning to shift to a new phone. And for obvious reason cant find any better place to take some advice. My budget is strictly between 16-20k. I am considering few sets for myself, one of those is Tab 2 p3100. Wondering how will huawei be. getting some impressive reviews on the net about huawei. not sure whether i can get jellybean out of the box in this range but will certainly appreciate released JB update for the model i choose. Tab 2 has already got one JB update i guess. If any suggestion peeping through your head please help me out .. will always be grateful and amazed by the strength of our community out here in xda....... Viva xda. !!

get optimus vu or 4x hd from hs18 superdeals they both have hd screens with tegra 3
or get xperia s/sl, I have seen it for 23k on saholic.com

23k is too much for me .. as i said strictly between 18-23k

I'm sure you can get the nexus 4 for around that price if you're talking in rupees? As in England it's around £230

Better than Grand.
Upgradable to android v4.2.2

If you are from India then go for micromax a116 or a110

23k was for sony xperia, optimus vu is very much under 20k. It was 19k something on hs18. If you are willing to buy an imported hanset get droid razr i for 17k. Snapdragon s4's dont come any cheaper

And please dont go for galaxy nexus or galaxy grand. Nexus's camera and storage sucks and grand's screen. Also when i tried galaxy nexus, its brightness wasnt good. Thats why i took xperia s myself. IMO get one of the 2 optimus and enjoy tegra zone.

Nexus camera is good for me and there is absolutely no problem whatsoever with the brightness.

Thanks for all the suggestions... got a hands on LG L9 and Vu.. must accept good deal... but heard LG arent good in update at all.. What abt Huawei? heard some good words abt that make...

Suggestions for a new device?

Hi guys,i was using a galaxy s2 as daily driver,but now it's dead...what about a new phone?what's the best at the moment..good performance,nice camera and...must be an android...i like to root,upgrade,backup,flash and many more
i'll buy surely a second and..I really like the S5 ..but want to read other opinion,i don't know all devices in the market at the moment

if you want performence and a great camera, i would go with Either a M7 or m8 (htc one) with root it depends on what carrier you have i think since verizon locks their bootloaders i dont know if the m7 or 8 on verizon has been rooted.

i also think nexus 6 xD is worth waiting for

Nexus 6 looks very nice.

nexus 6 has a 6.0 inches display..too big for me ...the final decision at the moment (i might change my mind in awhile ) is between S5 and Z3 (compact or not?)

[Q] What VZW Smartphone should I buy?

Gonna have about $300 to spend to get a smartphone off of eBay. Really tired of my Nokia Lumia 928, and wanting to go with something better. I was thinking the Galaxy Nexus because it's super cheap but I feel like it's kind of outdated. Verizon phones only please. Thanks ya'll

Personally I think the galaxy s4 is a great phone. Samsungs first really solid phone. It's fantastic stock, and has a lot of options for modding if you wanted. If you jump on swappa, there are plenty of great-mint condition for less then 300.

Also try and find one with a baseband MDK, if at all possible. There are infinitely more options for custom roms with that baseband version. But even if you can't there are still good options for custom roms using SS.

The OnePlus One is essentially a Nexus 5.5, apart from the factory OS. It's every bit as easy to root and flash custom ROMs and kernels, if that's what you're in to. If not, CM11S/12S is an improvement on AOSP Android.
That aside, the OPO is a superior device in every way. Better camera, faster processor and GPU, more RAM, and a much longer lasting battery. The main complaints people have had with the Nexus 5 was the mediocre camera and disappointing battery life.
The question is how big of a phone do you want? The OnePlus One is big, the Nexus 5 is relatively compact. If you prefer something more compact, may I suggest an LG G2 instead of the Nexus 5. Same processor, practically the same dimensions, but a bigger screen, much better camera, and far better battery.
Also, remember that the OnePlus Two is soon to be released, and also later this year a new Nexus 5 made by LG. You might want to wait if you're not in desperate need of a new phone.

Basically, I want it for my personal use and also one more purpose "GAMING".

OnePlus One. I am personally using nexus 5. And I don't want to give it up. But One+ is the future.

Well, OK. I think, for that reason, the 1+1 is a little bit better.
Please note, that both phones have no changable battery/MicroSD
I recommend the 1+1 with 64 GB.

Possible to get official Nougat update

Hey guys.
I found out that G3 is confirmed to receive Nougat update in February 2017.
Considering our phones' stronger hardware do you think we are going to receive the update too? I know the Spring and Att versions havent got MM yet but still.
I think it would be a pity if LG upgraded a SD801 devices and not our 810.

I think G3 with Nougat is a bit false information. Because they stated that they didn't release graphics drivers for SD800/SD801

Well yeah I think youre right.But I so thrive for 7.0 or root on MM,I wouldnt go back to lollipop just for gaming.
It is so horrible that a flagship like this has no root and bad gaming performance that it almost seems unreal

All we Need is root - or hardwaremodification with some heatpipes and stuff

Its certainly false alarm,since SD 801 was discontinued by Qualcomm so it wont get Nougat any time,same goes to Nexus 5, SGS5 and many others. But there is still chance tho, SD 810 is still supported and after G5 fiasco LG might be better to customers. But the chance is really,really small,if we do get Nougat,i think its gonna be in H2 2017,so long time on MM ahead.

Its fiasco for me, not bad phone, but its not available in most parts of Europe, design is not that good and built quality lacks in modular part. LG can do better.

Well its HD2 is legend and is showing what a will of community can do. However,reason behind LGs flagship not getting Nougat is simple, LG dont give a f... as they dont do only phones like HTC for example and they dont earn much as division. That and lack of root tools of LG tools which leads to this situation.

I just saw the HTC Bolt specs which was announced today. Its running Android 7.0 and has exactly the same Chipset, CPU and GPU as Flex 2. So, from hardware point of view there is absolutely no problem that we receive also 7.0 at some time. The question is does they want to upgrade it or not.

Everyone who thinks Flex 2 is getting Android N needs psychiatric consultation.

But still im waiting for black friday to buy another phone.A G5 or Oneplus 3,I cant stand G Flex anylonger,I mean..its a great phone overall but gaming on MM is awful and is not a suitable phone for a power user anyway

I would wait a bit. S7 will get cheaper next year, HTC 10 also,well every phone will get cheaper. G5 isnt bad phone,but im afraid of support, Oneplus 3 is great but you cant actually buy it anymore,only 1+3T. Im checking for HTC 10,it looks very well and its metal,i dont want glass phone anymore after Xperia.

HW isnt problem, Nexus 6P has mostly the same specs and has Nougat for a while, Bolt too. Its only on OEM when and if they publish update. But im worried they wont, original G Flex had same history,got Lollipop after hard times with KK and thats it. Small spark of hope still exists tho,at least until LG will deny update officially.

Same hardware has htc one m9 and nougat 7.0 officialy update in 2017 .

Yeah,thats what im talking about. Its all about OEM and LG isnt really good when it comes to updates,i dont have experience with G series,but G Flex support is awful,but who knows,maybe they can prove me wrong.
