I read about www.Shieldzone.com and their full body protection.
Of course, they dont offer anything for the P3600 out of the box but they are able to custom design a full body protection for $45 within 1-3 business days.
Does anyone know if it is worth paying $45 for this kind of protection? I really dont like silicone cases, since they are too big and collect dust. I have tried numerous leather cases but in the end I simply dont use them since the device inclusive case doesnt fit into my pockets.
Any comments on their products?
If I remember correctly, it isi quite difficult to apply it on. Have you applied a screen protector before? I think a full body shield is.. very much difficult than a screen protector. Anyway, you might want to look at this http://www.skinit.com/, $10 only

They would apply the protector on the device, which is included in the $45.
I totally agree, applying a screen protector is difficult enough and a very tedious and I wouldnt want to deal with a full body protector.
The thought of not having to deal with any paint problems and perhaps being able to sell the device scratch free in a years time is quite appealing.
Thanks for the link, I will check them out too!
i've bastardized the 8525 shieldzone skin to use on my 3600. in my opinion, it greatly minimized the "fingerprints" and provides adequate protection for me. i don't really like the rubberized skins. they are not very difficult to apply and can be peeled off when necessary. i wish shieldzone would make a skin for the 3600...

Can you plz post pics of the final results on your P3600?? I'm also interested in this skin. I think it's a great idea..
Thanks
I've used them for other devices, they are 100% worth it. They are a bit of a pain to get one but they do work as advertised. They are clear so they show off the device and protect the unit from scratches without adding the bulk of other type of skins since they are very very thin.
Do you know how long the turn around time is since they install it. If all is true then $45 bucks is cheap for the protection that it offers. I am very interested.

They told me that an approx. turn around time would be 1-3 business days. You have to add shipping times for both ways to it, which depends on location and shipping service you choose. So, I guess a far assumption would be to have the unit back within 10-12 business days if you ship via UPS ground.
Also, the $45 price quote does not include shipping charges. So, it is quite expensive to simply protect the device against scratches.
Perhaps anyone can post some pictures of the protection applied?
So what if I need to change my sim or take my battery off?

Good point
I would think that they are installing the shield on each part individually, hence you have up to 7 different pieces to apply to the unit. Subsequently there shouldnt be a problem to reach the SIM or battery, etc.
Maybe there's someone who lives in the area can take their unit in or get a dealer to drop one off for a fitting. Once they make a custom one, they sell to others. With that said, I think it's pretty bad business on their part, you'd think they'd be willing to do the first one for any device free knowing they will be able to sell others based off their template.

Hi guys,
Sorry for dredging up an old thread but I just wanted to add my piece as someone who has had one of these shields before (on an HTC Prophet).
They are very very good, and you really can scratch away at the device with keys / brick wall etc and it doesn't scratch (obviously not something you would want to do on purpose)! The application is tricky but very doable, and should your protector ever become creased or damaged you can have it replaced for free, for life.
The turnaround time is quick, no more than 5 business days, but I'm in the UK so when I sent mine off for a custom shield I got hammered on the return for customs duty etc - a nasty shock. That's the only reason I wouldn't get a custom shield made up for my P3600. Let me know if you do though as I will be hot on your heels ordering one!
On my Prophet, you could see the edges of the protector in places, as they have to make the shield up in sections so it can be curved around the top of your phone etc - can't see any way they could apply it in a single sheet. This was not a big issue on the Prophet, and looks a million times better than covering up your device with a silicon case or whatever.
I'm guessing that the edges of the protector will be less visible on the P3600 as it is already shiny, where the Prophet was matte. The shield will not cover the buttons and camera on your phone. In 18months my Prophet did not pick up one scratch, despite being dropped on concrete and in a pocket with keys, which is a good selling point in my mind!
As for the cost, $45 is more than a case / screen protector, but these things protect the device for it's entire life, and even if you don't like parts of the protector, you can always take those parts off (with the risk of them not being protected) and leave on the parts that you do like. Some protection is definitely better than none anyway! You'll probably find that you leave the whole thing on though!
As I said, drop me a line if you get a custom one made up as that will mean that poor UK based P3600 owners like myself should be able to follow up and order one without sending our devices in!
Good luck!
Mark.
Yes please, if anyone takes the plunge please advice!!

Looks like that they finally sell a body shield for the P3600:
http://www.shieldzone.com/item_description/HTCP3600.html
Now, the question is whether this is only a screen protector or a full body protector? Its not very clear according to the description.

That's just a screen protector. It says at the top of the picture.
I've gotten these put on for a Wizard and Hermes and would not go without them. I, like most, don't like bulky covers on an already large phone.
As mentioned, they come in several different parts and don't block access to anything that needs opening or the like.
I'm also just a stones throw away from their corporate office. I've had them apply the skins for me (just $10 extra) and they've told me that they'll make a custom skin for any device that's brought to them for an extra charge of only $10 or $15 more. But, once they create the template, they hang onto it so they won't charge the next guy for the custom job.
All in all, I think they're probably the best choice to protect your device.
Just a little first-hand input for ya.
come on - someone in the US can order one if it means that I can order one to be delivered to Europe. I'll pay $10 of the $15 say extra dollars once I can have one shipped
(The full body protector).

Says right on the page that it's a screen protector ("Screen Shield") not a full body protector.
Hello there,
I ordered my nexus one couple of days ago, I want to be ready with all the peripherals needed.
Well, I saw some fine cases in Ebay and other private sites, but I could not find the specific sort of case that I would like to buy.
There are two main problems that I see in most of the cases out there -
1.They will not protect the screen in a case of a fall.
2.Too big or uncomfortable to use.
I`d rather buy a case that is going to save my screen from a crack, than one that preserves some scratches, so I need a good protection for the front area.
Secondly - I`d like it to be as slim as possible, and comfortable for an use at daily basis.
Plus - no rubber / silicone cases , only plastic/metal/silk+plastic/metal.
As for the screen protector,
I don`t know if they are that useful, I have seen that most of them reduces the quality of the screen / responsiveness of the touch screen,
will I get any benefits from a screen protector?
I heard good reviews about the next one :
http://www.googlenexusoneaccessories.com/nexus-one-screen-protector-8642.html
Is it any good ?
Big thanks, I`m open for any sort of suggestions,
Danny.

This is very cool. It's a glass that eliminates glare.
http://gizmodo.com/5854321/amazing-invisible-glass-kills-glare-dead
This would be cool I think
We need this on our phones. Probably 5-6 years till it is the industry standard.
Although, at the moment, I'm sure there's a catch to it.
This is great news...screen glare is the biggest issue I have with phones. Even more so than battery life.

I hope not. From the way it sounded, it may well be a film to apply over the glass. But how you would apply it to the underside...it's likely a factory applied item. Had it been a single-sided application, they could sell it as a film for purchase separately.
hope its strong as Gorilla Glass..
Woah, it's a very interesting thing! I hope to see it on phones in short time!
Hope it's tough as well, and scratch resistant; anti-glare is not such an unbearable issue in the colder countries!
Looks interesting, but do you guys really have a problem with reflections? I only notice it when my screen's off.
Sounds like great technology. Not just for phones either- most types of electronic displays would benefit from this. You can still get glare even when you are indoors, depending on where the windows are.
Really cool!

Not really that important, you can find on e-bay an anti-glare screen protractor (Actually they get scratched easily, you need to buy anther transparent screen protector to protect it? lol)
Cool! it makes viewing a display more pleasant, reduces eyestrain, and sharpens the picture..
less glare can only be a good thing IMO.
maybe we'll see this combined with the new "lotus glass" that Corning is working on.
cant post the link, sorry D:

I can't see why you can't do DIY way, open your phone, attach the anti-glare film under your Gorilla glass. Now, enjoy it (without any side-effects).

Placing it behind the glass may not give the desired results, and will probably still reduce sensitivity (depending on your phone).

Well, this is an arguable matter. The only way we can prove it is by trying it.
Nether I, nether you will give it a try as a guess. So, lets not get out of this topic.
truly amazing how much technology is bringing us all these kinds of wonderful things. Hope to see this on a phone near my hand very soon
Sorry, im spam...
I am seeing a lot of screen protectors coming out on amazon, that are from small companies, was wondering if anybody has ever tried them and which one is the best one? Should I go try some of them out or wait for Zagg to come out of one of their own for the Moto Z/Z force?
Never felt like paying the premium for Zagg stuff; I've been using Skinomi protectors on my last three phones (it's the same material as Zagg/GadgetGuard etc). Have the TechSkin on my Z Force and it fits PERFECTLY, right up to the edge. Tried the MatteSkin once, but found it de-contrasted my screen way too much.

Well crap. I thought it was the Force that had the 2.5D screen edges. We aren't ever going to get a decent glass screen protector for this phone. My S7 was just like this and as popular as it is doesn't have a good glass screen protector.

how is the fit?
I wish I would have come across this thread before I bought the IQ Shield Tempered Glass protector. Clarity and feel are amazing but the edges don't seal!! It really grinds my gears.
Just bought a generic tempered glass (I highly doubt it is real tempered glass, maybe just some plastic). It is really cheap, not prone to fingerprints, and it makes the screen look great. Adhesion is nice, no abnormal lifts from the sides. Here are some pictures and the price tag.
I'm jealous, that seal looks perfect! I paid twice as much and mine is lifted on the left, right, and bottom edges.

Installed today... The front screen protector is of good quality and attach perfectly on screen even if it is a bit small in size in all directions in my opinion. Great transparency and print resistance too...
The back one is like old screen protections and it's impossible to fit it without a lot of bubble...
Too much for me so I removed... It's a pity since it had a good print resistance too... that was really needed.
Anyone found a screen protector that covers the entire front?

So the link I posted last week, I realized that was for the Moto Z Force and I just have the Moto Z/Moto Z Droid. So I purchased this one and will be returning the other one.

I didn't get it on exactly perfect but if I did then I think it would have been pretty close to full coverage. I'm considering pull it off and replacing it. Also, I bought a full body protector so that I could put something on the back to protect from scratches and some finger prints. When I pulled it out and looked at it before applying it to the phone then I noticed there was no hole for the gold connection pins to pass through. I was very disappointed. Here is a link to the full body protector.

I recently purchased a Mi Mix 2 from ebay, supposedly in perfectly mint condition and unused. Well I quickly discovered that the glass has 2 small scratches as if something heavy fell on it or as if the seller dropped the phone on its face... I'm getting nowhere with ebay or buyers protection so I'm looking into my other options.
Is it possible to exchange the glass alone (not the entire IPS panel)? Forgive me if that's something obvious, I've never done that before but willing to learn and getting help from friends with more experience.
I found offerings for example on aliexpress that seem to be what I need but still I have no clue whether this would actually work. Also I don't know how to remove the glass, is this process the same for all models? Can it be done?
If you do manage to replace the glass you'll probably be one of the first to do it. The ceramic body would probably make it quite difficult and without a teardown on i-fixit or wherever I personally wouldn't want to go at it.
Can you not just put a decent tempered glass protector on as usually the adhesive slightly fills imperfections and will make them invisible once it's applied?

Keep in mind that you are looking at only the glass. If glass and digitizer are glued together this will still be a tough fix.
