I read about www.Shieldzone.com and their full body protection.
Of course, they dont offer anything for the P3600 out of the box but they are able to custom design a full body protection for $45 within 1-3 business days.
Does anyone know if it is worth paying $45 for this kind of protection? I really dont like silicone cases, since they are too big and collect dust. I have tried numerous leather cases but in the end I simply dont use them since the device inclusive case doesnt fit into my pockets.
Any comments on their products?
If I remember correctly, it isi quite difficult to apply it on. Have you applied a screen protector before? I think a full body shield is.. very much difficult than a screen protector. Anyway, you might want to look at this http://www.skinit.com/, $10 only

They would apply the protector on the device, which is included in the $45.
I totally agree, applying a screen protector is difficult enough and a very tedious and I wouldnt want to deal with a full body protector.
The thought of not having to deal with any paint problems and perhaps being able to sell the device scratch free in a years time is quite appealing.
Thanks for the link, I will check them out too!
i've bastardized the 8525 shieldzone skin to use on my 3600. in my opinion, it greatly minimized the "fingerprints" and provides adequate protection for me. i don't really like the rubberized skins. they are not very difficult to apply and can be peeled off when necessary. i wish shieldzone would make a skin for the 3600...

Can you plz post pics of the final results on your P3600?? I'm also interested in this skin. I think it's a great idea..
Thanks
I've used them for other devices, they are 100% worth it. They are a bit of a pain to get one but they do work as advertised. They are clear so they show off the device and protect the unit from scratches without adding the bulk of other type of skins since they are very very thin.
Do you know how long the turn around time is since they install it. If all is true then $45 bucks is cheap for the protection that it offers. I am very interested.

They told me that an approx. turn around time would be 1-3 business days. You have to add shipping times for both ways to it, which depends on location and shipping service you choose. So, I guess a far assumption would be to have the unit back within 10-12 business days if you ship via UPS ground.
Also, the $45 price quote does not include shipping charges. So, it is quite expensive to simply protect the device against scratches.
Perhaps anyone can post some pictures of the protection applied?
So what if I need to change my sim or take my battery off?

Good point
I would think that they are installing the shield on each part individually, hence you have up to 7 different pieces to apply to the unit. Subsequently there shouldnt be a problem to reach the SIM or battery, etc.
Maybe there's someone who lives in the area can take their unit in or get a dealer to drop one off for a fitting. Once they make a custom one, they sell to others. With that said, I think it's pretty bad business on their part, you'd think they'd be willing to do the first one for any device free knowing they will be able to sell others based off their template.

Hi guys,
Sorry for dredging up an old thread but I just wanted to add my piece as someone who has had one of these shields before (on an HTC Prophet).
They are very very good, and you really can scratch away at the device with keys / brick wall etc and it doesn't scratch (obviously not something you would want to do on purpose)! The application is tricky but very doable, and should your protector ever become creased or damaged you can have it replaced for free, for life.
The turnaround time is quick, no more than 5 business days, but I'm in the UK so when I sent mine off for a custom shield I got hammered on the return for customs duty etc - a nasty shock. That's the only reason I wouldn't get a custom shield made up for my P3600. Let me know if you do though as I will be hot on your heels ordering one!
On my Prophet, you could see the edges of the protector in places, as they have to make the shield up in sections so it can be curved around the top of your phone etc - can't see any way they could apply it in a single sheet. This was not a big issue on the Prophet, and looks a million times better than covering up your device with a silicon case or whatever.
I'm guessing that the edges of the protector will be less visible on the P3600 as it is already shiny, where the Prophet was matte. The shield will not cover the buttons and camera on your phone. In 18months my Prophet did not pick up one scratch, despite being dropped on concrete and in a pocket with keys, which is a good selling point in my mind!
As for the cost, $45 is more than a case / screen protector, but these things protect the device for it's entire life, and even if you don't like parts of the protector, you can always take those parts off (with the risk of them not being protected) and leave on the parts that you do like. Some protection is definitely better than none anyway! You'll probably find that you leave the whole thing on though!
As I said, drop me a line if you get a custom one made up as that will mean that poor UK based P3600 owners like myself should be able to follow up and order one without sending our devices in!
Good luck!
Mark.
Yes please, if anyone takes the plunge please advice!!

Looks like that they finally sell a body shield for the P3600:

Now, the question is whether this is only a screen protector or a full body protector? Its not very clear according to the description.

That's just a screen protector. It says at the top of the picture.
I've gotten these put on for a Wizard and Hermes and would not go without them. I, like most, don't like bulky covers on an already large phone.
As mentioned, they come in several different parts and don't block access to anything that needs opening or the like.
I'm also just a stones throw away from their corporate office. I've had them apply the skins for me (just $10 extra) and they've told me that they'll make a custom skin for any device that's brought to them for an extra charge of only $10 or $15 more. But, once they create the template, they hang onto it so they won't charge the next guy for the custom job.
All in all, I think they're probably the best choice to protect your device.
Just a little first-hand input for ya.
come on - someone in the US can order one if it means that I can order one to be delivered to Europe. I'll pay $10 of the $15 say extra dollars once I can have one shipped
(The full body protector).

Well, my T-Mobile contract is almost up, and I've decided to switch to O2 and get the xda orbit 2. Are there any other networks offering the touch cruise? Any way of getting the HTC home application on the O2 version? Thanks.
I don't know about other networks offering the Touch Cruise (but I highly doubt any other network is offering it), but I do know you can get the HTC Home application working on the XDA Orbit 2. No roms, no flashing, just a simple .cab file that you put on your PDA, run, let it install, soft reset and there it is.
I have it running on my XDA Orbit 2.
You can get it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=47324&d=1187262723
Thats the one that I downloaded and installed on my XDA Orbit 2 with no problems.
Hope you make the right choice
Regards
Thanks! Went for it and now waiting for the phone to be delivered...
good choice switching to o2, much better coverage i have found.
i was going to get on contract and get a stellar, but decided to settle for a trion on payg
let us know what you think of the phone etc
My advice: stay away from HTC devices.
Since you already went for the device welcome to the frustration club .
(I'm the "proud" owner of a HTC Polaris very similar with your new toy)
Thanks for the advice, I'll return the phone as soon as I get it, or maybe not.
Well not the best start, called to check if it's been dispatched, CS said it's out of stock, but when they checked stock level it said several available. So they put the order through again and waiting to see wether actually in stock or not. There's no order tracking link in 'my o2' so guessing it's not gone through yet.

Your welcome! I am sure you willl enjoy using the device as I have. As standard XDA ORBIT 2's come unlocked (they came unlocked for me) so you do not just have to use it on O2.
When it arrives though, make sure the first thing you do (after checking all package contents are there as they should be) is to apply the screen protector- that way you keep your screen looking brand new just like day 1 if you ever need to remove the protector!

I've never understood this, whenever I get a new device I never bother with the screen protector. What's the point? What's the worst thats going to happen - the device is there to be used and enjoyed - not covered over with sticky tape!
It reminds me of when people go to gigs and spend the whole time watching the band through their camera phone, recording and taking pictures - whats the point of going if you're not going to enjoy the moment?!!!
Each to their own I guess.

How about permanently scratching the screen? Especially if you say "the device is there to be used and enjoyed", accidents can and WILL happen. Covered by "sticky tape"? Have you actually seen a screen protector lately?
I don't know...the putting on a screen protector does not mean you can't enjoy the device. As a matter of fact, you might enjoy it even more knowing that if you by some-odd chance you do scratch the screen then you can just remove the protector and get another one.
yeah seriously. device won't be nice to enjoy with a big fat scratch across the screen. the screen protector that came with the cruise is a pretty good one out of the box.
The screens are designed to be scratch resistant - which makes a lot of sense when you think about it!
If you are going to do something so harsh to your device that it scratches then it will likely scratch regardless of the screen protector - its only a thin layer of plastic.
I've had my orbit for 12 months, it's fallen down stairs, off my desk in the office, behind my car seat (constantly...don't ask!) and it's hit the pavement when I've been out on more than one occassion - it's always amongst keys and conins in one of my pockets or bags and I've never gone out of my way to take extra care of it. The screen is fine, as was the screen on my I-Mate JamIN a year before that.
Why would any manufacturer build a mobile device to a design that will cause it to scratch its screen easily? Seriously, sticking a layer of plastic over it is not going to make a huge difference! Before long, I'd imagine it would just get tatty and start to peel away anyway.
I can second the no screen protectors ideology. I do fine w/o one and have had scratch free screens on all my phones. I think screen protectors look tacky, they remind me of those people that keep plastic covers on their furniture to keep them clean. They also remind me of the people that drive their cars with leather car bras ALL the time. Seriously, for what? Just so that the next owner can enjoy the fruits of your labor?
Besides, the screens truly are scratch resistant. There's little need to fret about them.

I don't know who told you that but I know from experience that is not the case. A plastic screen (not glass like the iPhone) can be scratched quite easily. Even putting your device in a case or pouch that doesn't have a soft interior can cause scratching.

I think you are making an assumption of cheap screen protectors that you can buy in Staples or something. A Writeshield from PPCTechs for example can last for years and looks (and feels) exactly like the plastic screen on which it covers.

They do this solely to keep YOU happy!!!
If they didn’t, you would moan and whine and make a fuss and obviously “the customer is always right” – you would waste more time and expense than it’s actually worth when HTC can just package some sticky plastic in with the phone to keep you happy and stop you from blaming them when you screw up and brake it!
Some people spend far too much energy worrying and moaning about things rather than just enjoying them and getting on with it.
The Wii’s for example, people kicking up a fuss about the controllers slipping out of people’s hands – rather than take responsibility for not being competent enough to hold a controller, they hold Nintendo responsible. Then to shut everyone up because it’s the easiest option and they don’t want to get sued – we now all get free rubber covers with grips on for the Wii controllers! This is the kind of world we live in!
The other poster put it better than I did when using the car seat covers example – it’s just completely over the top.
Also all this quoting and taking my posts out of context is making me feel like I have to repeat myself! I was just stating my opinion; it’s not a personal attack or anything!
If it makes anyone feel safer to stick plastic over their phone then that’s their god given choice and I have no issues with them as a person, I was just making the point that I don’t understand why you would bother. My opinion hasn’t changed either!
Hey its fine by me if you don't want to use a screen protector. Just don't come crying here if you manage to scratch the screen on your over 700 buck device.
I don't cover my furniture with plastic. and it's not like they have plastic covers for a car. haha. but if i get a scratch on my ride, i do get pretty pissed. i somewhat agree with you to just enjoy the device, which is partly the reason why I don't use that pouch that came with it. but if i can avoid a scratch on the screen of an expensive phone why not. i highly doubt that the cruise screen doesn't scratch.
hey but you're right to each his own.
If put on correctly you cant even tell there is a protector on.
I just got a full body InvisibleSHIELD installed on my verizon device at a local Zagg mall kiosk, the installer had to cut the bottom to accommodate the 3.5 jack and the side for the volume rocker. The Installer said that Zagg doesn't actually make a Verizon specific body shield. Anyway, here are some pictures of it.
http://s188.photobucket.com/albums/...ction=tags¤t=InvisibleSHIELD on VZW TP2
I contacted Zagg about this and a rep told me that because the installer cut the shield that the warranty is now vioded....
This is what she said

Hello *****,
Thank you for contacting ZAGG, where we are Zealous About Great Gadgets! My name is Betty and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
I sincerely apologize you have been misinformed. We do offer an invisibleSHIELD specifically for the HTC Touch Pro 2 (Verizon). You can find this item on the following links:

In regards to your email, retail locations are authorized sellers of ZAGG. They also have their own separate policy and procedures.
I understand the sales representative at the mall kiosk altered your invisibleSHIELD. If the invisibleSHIELD is cut by anyone other than our professional shield designers, your Lifetime warranty will be voided. We do not recommend cutting or altering the invisibleSHIELD.
I hope this helps! Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or comments.
All the best,

Thanks for the speedy response, however let me see if I understand this; because the authorized seller cut my shield in order to make a fit onto my phone, my warranty is voided and now I need to pay for a new shield if I want the correct one installed onto my phone?
Concerned Customer
I am currently awaiting a response from them. I tried calling the kiosk back but no one is answering, they're probably at lunch, however I'm not sure what to tell them aside from "You LIED AND YOU F###ed up my shield, do it again!" If anyone else has had a VZW Zagg shield installed, let me know what the results where please.
Did the installer inform you that they would have to modify the shields before they hacked on them? How did you pay? If by CC then you may have the option of disputing with your CC company.
Bad Zagg experience
I ordered a full body Verizon version via the Zagg website. I was careful to select the Verizon version. Because I have no patience I ordered express delivery.
When the product arrived it was a generic version. Holes in the wrong place ect.. When I called they implied I ordered wrong and suggested next time I order to select the Verizon version. I asked the rep. to order for me so it was correct, and again like a fool I paid for the express delivery. 2 days later it didn't show and when I checked the status it was on backorder. When I tried to cancel the express delivery for obvious reasons they would not do it.
I asked how they accepted my order when they were on backorder. Anyway I was not happy.
I ended up using the generic screen, other than a small camera hole on the top right it fit. After a couple days I was not happy with it's apperance, and how the sides felt. I looked for another option. I found Ghost Armor after searching this site.
I first ordered the full body then minutes later decided to order just the screen not knowing if there would be a difference. Not only did they check wih me to make sure I didn't double order, but they packed both orders together and refunded me the shipping on one order.
Bottom line, no question between the two the Ghost Armor is the best screen cover. You don't even know it's there. However the side and back covers are not great. If protecting your whole phone is vital then Zagg is for you. The Zagg screen wraps around the edges and offers more coverage.
My Verizon Zagg showed up and I left it in the box for now. I don't think I'm covering the back or sides. If I do I will use the Zagg back cover. How funny will that be?!
jsquared, sounds like you have too much money to spend on screen protectors... But is it true that the Zagg covers the sides on the screen portion?

Do you mind taking a look at what the front of the cover looks like?
Yes, the Zagg covers the entire screen and wraps around the top corners, bottom corners, around the bottom buttons, and both sides. However, it does not cover the entire sides. It prob. covers half the sides. It stops at the side crease. The Zagg does cover more than the Ghost Armor sides. My problem with Zagg is that the film is a little cloudy and sticky. It's obvious that there is a screen cover on.
My only concern is the screen and the Ghost Armor is perfect because I can't even tell it's there.
HOWEVER, my best advice is for you to buy both.... that way you can't go wrong
I wish I had seen this first
I just had mine installed at the Valley Faire Mall in San Jose while I traveled through. I was a little leary as he was putting it on because it looked like he had to trim the bottom also and the hole is in the wrong place up top. The center pieces where not cut correctly either and there are gaps where the screen meets the body and the screen. He insists these will go away after 24 hours or so. I think it looks like a total piece of crap. Carefully placed saran wrap would have looked more professional. I'm not even going to bother calling them. I will be in Salt Lake on Friday and I will show them what their "Authorized Resellers" are selling as the correct product and let them explain in person. I have Ghost Armor on my Storm that was put on in their kiosk in Chicago and it looks and feels 100% better. Can't even tell its there. This looks like I left the original plastic on the phone. Maybe if I show them my Ghost Armored Storm it will inspire them to make a better quality product. Ya Right. Highly unrecommended.
I attached some pics of the front. That bottom left corner is never going to lay properly no matter how much time. As you can see it was a real professional job.

Well it's good to see some positive comments on the ghost armor. I ordered the screen protector only, but have never used it before so I am anxious to see how it looks. I have used the invisishield and phantom skinz, and really haven't like either one. And it's sad to say that I did a better install of the protector myself than the one in the picture posted. Hopefully the ghost armor will not be as sticky and noticeable as the other two. I have yet to see any real negative comments on it yet. The installer of that shield should have his @ss whooped for screwing up your phone....LOL

Honestly, as much as I love a slick slippery phone, I prefer something that has a bit of grip on it so it wont fall outa my hand and it wont slip off my desk. He DID **** up my cover, not my phone, and Zagg will provide a replacement (minus shipping >_< ).
Well, they are sending me a new one, though they tried to make it seem as if I should go away and they where doing me a favor. They screw the pooch, and I have to put $25 bucks on hold so they will send me a proper one. At least they eating the shipping to me. Its going back to them in a white envelope. Screwiest lifetime warranty in the business, designed to keep people from wanting to take advantage of it. Never again.
Yeah, they told me the same, I think I'm going to call the kiosk again and talk to the manager about this, see if I can get him to order in the tp2 skin so that they obsorb the $4 hit (sorry but now-a-days 4 bucks is a lot for shipping for something they they ****ed up on). Obviously if 2 random people on this board happen on the same thread about the same kiosk, then this is probably a problem for them, this doesn't reflect well on Zagg, even if they don't officially own the kiosks.
i installed mine myself and it all went well everything fit but i'm wondering is there supposed to be a piece for around the screen? Mine came with two pieces, the back cover and one for the screen itself but the glossy part around the screen is uncovered. if someone could let me know that would be great thanks

No, there is no piece for the glossy black part around the screen. My installer told me it was because it may peel off while removing the shield. He said it previously happened with different models of the Blackberry.
After having a Zagg on my TP1 and liking it until it started losing adhesive and peeling off, I originally ordered the Zagg IS generic GSM TP2 model (the one that overlaps the screen and needs to be cut for the 3.5MM jack) and altered it myself to fit as I hadn't heard about the Ghost Armor yet and Zagg didn't have a Verizon version at the time. That said, when I finally got the Ghost Armor, I found it a far superior product to Zagg. No orange peel, better appearance, and better feel, and easier to apply. You really can't tell it's there. I won't be using anything else from now on.
Just talked with the people at the kiosk I had the shield installed; despite what Zagg told me via email they said that they don't make a Verizon specific shield, and that they ALWAYS must alter the shield for the TP2 for Verizon and even some other phones and that Zagg was lying about making Verizon specific shields. I'm going to have to call Zagg about this tomorrow (it's pass their business hours, and email conversation seems to take them 1 day to reply, no matter what) and see who's bullshitting here... Ghost Armor is starting to look like a better option...

LAME....that part sticks out more too. I wish I had a protector on it ):
Got the replacement today. Though it fits better now, it leaves the most vulnerable parts of the device exposed. They really need to make some kind of surround to protect the frame around the screen as its basically useless without something like that. Kind of a lame excuse that it may peel the device on removal since the surround on a Blackberry is painted and the TP2 is solid plastic. Nothing to peel. It does look much better now though.

Damn, we must be in sync or something, got my replacement today as well, I took it to a different kiosk (closer to my home) and I explained the story to the guy and he installed my new shield for free , I also sent the incorrect shields back to Zagg for a refund (or atleast for them to de-authorize the cash they have on hold on my account). I will be complaining to the Valley Fair kiosk owner and try to get a refund for the installation at the very least for this whole fiasco.
Ok so I ordered a Zagg full shield for the Nexus One I don't have yet but have ordered...
My question is...
Should I use the Zagg shield for the whole phone? or not at all?
I have one on my BlackBerry right now and haven't had any issues but I've seen some people complain about them... I guess the only thing I don't like is it shows finger prints but it does protect it...
There's already a couple of threads on skins for the phone. I'm sure searching those will yield an answer as your question isn't unique.
Ok.......

Do yourself a favor, grab best skins ever, zagg worked great on my g1 (although obviously overpriced), on my nexus one i got 3 scuff/scratch like marks on it, I still have it on but ordered a full body + 1 extra screen from best skins ever for about the price of the "SINGLE SCREEN" price from zagg. And i've used best skins ever on the g1 as well = same material. Tried to get "warranty replacement" on g1 and/or nexus = price is actually a dollar more than the original price = retarded.
I got the Zagg full body shield... other than the screen protector, it's quite good... the screen protector is not that good... grabs more finger prints... and does not go well with the auto brightness...

Yeah, I agree with Gslick. Zagg, Best Skins Ever, etc. They all use the same product but the way they present it and market it is somewhat different.

I have the Invisible shield, but the cost of that^ is cheaper than replacing mine with the warranty, so i was just wondering: what are the specs of that cover? It doesn't show you the individual pieces, unlike zagg.
I had the opposite experience; I liked the face shield, but ditched the body shield.
The body shield makes the phone look and feel plastic-y, and the clincher was it making the phone impossible to use with my brodit car dock.
The face shield, well, compared to the rigid plastic variety, it doesn't pick up scratches - as far as I can tell -ever-, as I've had them on other phones prior to the n1. At least to me, it's not noticeable as existing unless the screen is off, at which point it has a slightly pebbly appearance.
As for losing the protection on the sides / back - well, I've never been one to drop / put in back pocket / etc, so it's probably a non-issue, your personal mileage may vary.
EDIT: One thing I've been curious about is the possibility of using clear static-cling vinyl as a face shield; this material is available readily in 8"x10" sheets (to be used in inkjet printers), at a much lower price than a single piece of zagg-ish face shielding...
I did not care for it at all. It made the screen "clingy" and less responsive. It is also too thick for the desktop charger.
I tried it for a couple of days, then removed it.
Just saw this offer and wanted to share it, free protectors at**LInk removed - advertising a commercial site*** I don't know if they are any good, but they only charge transport costs for now
Thanks for the info!!
Nice one! just placed the order and will receive it in a few days
thanks for the heads up!

Well they are free. (Sort-of)
There is another thread running about these.
Long story short, not very good and have now removed the shield after less than a week.
the shield works well for me and the cutting is pretty accurate.
just gotta spray lots of water during application and everything will come out quite nicely. Im intending to get another spare one as Ive heard that such shield will become yellowish after some time.
overall, im impressed with wat ive received given the amount of money ive spent
I've ordered one of these sunday just past hope it comes soon
Mine arrived. I got 2 sets as figured I'd mess some up first time.
First impressions:
Never used invisible shield type products before. The pieces are very accurately shaped, but not completely cut, which made separating them from the surround quite hard. I found best method was to separate each individual section by roughly cutting around it leaving excess on all 4 sides, then apply to phone, and use the excess to move it around to avoid fingerprints on the sections.
A strong pull stripped off the excess of the vinyl, and also made them fit very snuggly. This works particularly well on the curved back - which I suggest you fit first.
I put them on dry and found they went on fine. Some tiny bubbles which went away after a day.
The screen protector I found impossible to get on without larger bubbles - I tried wet and dry. The texture's not very nice either so suggest you use some of the excellent ebay cheapo screen protectors. Buy lots if you're fussy about bubbles like I am.
All the cut pieces are a very neat fit. Once on, your phone becomes very shiny, and very grippy. The raised edges of the pieces, particularly on the sides, can be felt. It doesn't look as nice as a bare phone, but it's functional.
Mine arrived last week.
I had a lot of problems installing them. I was left with a very wet table, a lot of used paper towels and a few dusty stealth guards. Maybe I can find enough courage to try it again later. But at the moment I'm too frustrated with them
I also was quite surprised by the size of the bubbles. As you said, the cheap eBay protectors don't have that kind of bubbles. I must admit I didn't wait the recommended 24h

i can confirm...got one for Desire and one to Hd2...to dificult to apply, and they look too bad, seems you are grabbing a piece of plastic.
in my desire just kept the display protection, in my Hd2 im waiting for a friend to see an then remove that crap... i bought one from another brand for my Iphone, and it was easy to apply, it came with a thing to apply the protection and it was great.
Belive me , sometimes in my job i have to decorate cars and i got some experience in applying that...
Rubbish. Screen protector didn't go on easily at all and as I removed any bubbles on it, it just damaged the protector, leaving a mark! Hated the feeling when touching it as it has far too much resistance compared to the bare screen.
The actual body covers for it are utter tat! Makes the phone look like a cheap children's toy and fits badly!
£2.80 wasted on this, but at least it means I won't waste money on full price protectors!
Glad i bought a brando ultra clear
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

Hmm, not good to hear.
dont get it. it's rubbish. Thick as hell. it's like putting a condom over your phone. looks and feel funny after you manage to get it on. Getting it on is a project by itself. also its super shinny and looks very plastic. save yourself the shipping cost.
Hmm, I <3 my Zagg InvisibleSHIELD, this would be a nice back up just incase my zagg lifetime warranty fails to renew. Have the people bashing this promo tried the official Zagg invisibleSHIELD? I wonder if it's the quality of the Stealth Guard, or the idea of having a plastic coating all around that's turning you off.
If the quality of the Stealth Guard is as good as the Zagg InvisibleSHIELD then I wouldn't mind paying the $3.00 shipping. But I'm getting the idea that the Stealth Guards are cheaper, and of poor quality when compared to the Zagg InvisibleSHIELD.
The bestskinsever ones look tempting. Apparently they're quiet decent and they only cost a bit more than StealthGuards.
So where is the solution that they show in the video? Is the solution just water? I checked out the FAQS on the Site but didn't find anything. My package just came in an envelope with the protectors and my invoice. Just curious if anyone knows how to apply them without the "solution" they say to use on their "Installation Instructions".
Thanks
Got mine in the mail yesterday. I need help applying it because I'm a spaz. Heh.
I got my Desire HD just yesterday and before I make the big switch from my trusty G1 and wanted to install this protection that I have had for a good few weeks now.
The full body protector set I got consisted of one for the screen, a main back part, sim card slot and battery slot. It came with a spare set too.
To be honest, I'll cut to the chase. The installation was like any other full body installation in that you've got to keep your hands wet with the sopy solution (I had a spray bottle left over from a Bodyguardz set I had for my HD2 I once had). You must ensure you peel the parts off carefully making sure you don't stretch them. Bearing this in mind and being experienced in fitting this type of protection, I found the 'cut' of it to be poor.
The protection isn't "full" in my opinion. It doesn't stretch round the edges and corners therefore the most vulnerable areas to scratches and knocks is not protected. But worst of all, the deal breaker for me, was the battery cover area. I first realised that the main back part wasn't going to fit correctly when trying to put it on. The design of the protection have wrongly measured the battery cover slot and they believe it to be smaller than it is. This means that I had to cut a little bit away from the main back part. Consequently, the little piece of protector that goes on to the battery cover was too short and again means it does not provide "full" protection. The screen protection, I would of hoped, could of covered the whole thing right up to the earpiece grill but it just covers the screen.
Whether or not the screen will be less responsive, it tints yellow after time or shows any other aspect of poor build quality, time shall tell and I will edit this review accordingly.
So it is in my opinion to wait for another brand to release, InvisbleShield is in my sights as soon as its available.
Any questions, Ill be more than happy to answer
Thanks for the review but it'd me much better If you could share the front screen as well.
BTW you can purchase bestskinsever (BSE) DIY size and cut out any shaped as you need. Especially for that battery cover, you can solve yhe problem with BSE

Hi there, sorry yeah I'll upload a pic of the screen tonight. Kinda rushed the review earlier today just before work!
Thanks for the tip about Bestskinever though I think Im going to wait for Invisibleshield or hope that Bodyguardz produce one soon. I really like that for my old HD2
I bought mine, arrived today, it was awful, do not buy, it's stupid. I scrunched it up, do you want a picture of that? £10 down the drain.........oh well, it happens. =D
Zagg Invisible shield
I believe the Zagg invisible shield is already available. when you go to the Zagg web site, just search for HTC desire HD, and it should bring you to the site. I just ordered Maximum protection for AUS $18 (including shipping), but that's after 50% voucher. You can look for it here, and maybe post a request (im sure someone will be nice enough to share.) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=664386
I do believe the Zagg quality is better (including the cut).
Ive contacted ZAGG about suppliers in Europe and this is what they answered me
Thank you for contacting ZAGG, where we are zealous about great gadgets! My name is Dez G and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
We ship to most places all over the world, I see no reason why we would have a problem shipping to your area. You can find a list of local re-sellers in your area via the following link. My best suggestion is to contact these re-sellers for prices. Please note that we can not offer refunds on ZAGG purchases made outside of our website but if you need any of your items replaced under the lifetime, or 1 year replacement warranty we would be happy to assist you.

It is
I only installed it to have some form of protection without covering the phone. Hoping Invisibleshields attempt will be better, probs will buy one soon!
Edit: Ive just emailed them asking how much protection their best product offers. Heres hoping thatit covers the phone entirely, edges included!

If they make it like their iPhone 4 full body protection - don't bother . The size is wrong by 1-2mm, the cuts for the speaker, button, etc, also don't match the actual size (see the attached picture). I installed just the front and back protectors on my wife's iPhone, because seeing how wrong they are on the plain flat surface, I don't want to know what they did with the curvy edges... I ordered some original HTC protectors for my DHD because IMO they are the perfect cut and with some luck I'll manage to install one of them without any bubles (it's not impossible - I did it on the Touch HD).

Why cant you just ordered directly from their official sites? dont need to go through their resellers. Dont think it's much cheaper to get from their local resellers. Considering you can also get discount vouchers from nice people in this forum. Shipping is not expensive (only cost me $5).
Stupid me! I bought 2 pairs before you! I got my phone about two weeks now, so I decided to have some temporary protection until something better comes out.
And after installing the first one I really felt like I was fooled its so ugly and it doesnt fit well so I decided to sent the 2nd one back the morning after... but too late my mom had already throwed the 2nd one in the recycling bin...
Now Im searching for a cheap but good quality silicone case and a cheap look a like the default HTC leather case, cause I think Ive spent enough on screen protectors!
btw my phone has still the devdef protection on it and I have to admit, it has 2 pros
* No sign of condense
* Stretchy protector
but its 100% NOT scratch proof

I hate silicone cover more than anything, but try this mate, only £2.95, but I promise that this is the best protection out for the Desire HD so far, await the case-mate barely there if you want a metal, as I am doing, I got conned by this stupid DevDef protection!
