Change fingerprint icon (color) - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Is there already a mod available to change (the color of) the fingerprint icon? Really don't like it very much..

Green has shown to be the best color to see the ridges on your finger, that's why oneplus is using it.

When pressing the icon yes, but there should be no problem if it's white when you're just looking at it?
When you press it, it can change color back to green, seems possible to me

Check out this Telegram group chat, they are working on a mod like this, I personally use it to get a white icon: https://t.me/xOP6T

I'm 90% certain that such a mod existed for the 6T. Never tried it, though. I didn't care too much about the green.

The fingerprint mod changer from 6T forums works perfect.

Any way to get the Mclaren edition animation like they did on the 6t?

Any way to remove it? Unticking the remove shadows on nova settings does nothing.

The shadows are by 4.4 design. Before you just had the black background of the navigationbar

Yeah, I am aware that they're there by design. But I was trying to remove them... They certainly don't look bad.

No possibility to remove them. Wait for an custom rom with transparent bar support like in older 4.3 builds (I used transparent bas already long time ago with custom roms on the GNex without any shadow) and you will be able to remove them. Or you just use a launcher without transparent 4.4. support and the bars will be black again.

Which colors can be shown with the LED notification?

Hi all,
I am just playing with the LED notification. First thing is, that not all LED Apps from Play Store are working. I think EMUI is the reason, but I am not sure. LightFlow is working, but not good at all.
So I tried different colors for different apps. But it seems that only four colors are working. Red, green, white and blue. I am missing yellow for example.
Has somebody from your side tested yellow color or another?
I wouldn't be too quick to blame EMUI, even the Nexus 5X has a very limited selection of colours despite also having a full RGB LED... the Nexus 5 supports infinite colour mixing tho

pink,blue,red,green,orange,violet...
with light manager i get all colors working (on my frd-09) except the in-app orange whits looks moor like red
Hm, I tried LightFlow and Light Manager. Both are not working for me. The Honor uses still its own colors if a app gets a new message.

In CM/AOSP, all possible colors can be used. EMUI is the culprit.

Is it full 24-bit colour mixing, or is it like the Nexus 5X which "rounds" colours to the next closest colour it allows?

Depends on the LED hardware. But most phones round it to the closest.

(Guide) Navigation Bar keyboard color

I've had the phone for one day and it's a sexy phone. However I was encountering an annoyance with the navigation bar (the bottom strip with the home button and back button.) There is an option to change the navigation bar background color (settings > display > navigation bar > background color) but the issue is that it only applies when the keyboard is not present. I set my color to black, but everytime I would send a text or type anything the bottom navigation bar would switch to default white. I like my dark theme and this was a YUGE issue for me, but some people may enjoy the contrast or be fine with white.
The fix I found is a program called "NavBar Apps"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.damianpiwowarski.navbarapps
It works without root (which is not yet possible) and allows a user to set a static color for the navigation bar, plus other options like battery or dynamic nav bar color from current application. I don't use these features as I enjoy my solid black, but they are interesting to try.
In my opinion static color for the nav bar is the best as I strongly dislike the changing of solid colors between open and closed keyboard.
Hopefully this is helpful, peace

This was great. Thank for sharing. ?
Great! Thanks! Anything we can do about notifications background being white even if I have a black theme?

Make an exception in your app killers
Thank you so much! I realized, however, that the app does need to be running in the background for the color fix to work. Which is fine as long as my nav bar matches my black keyboard
Awesome, it works perfectly!
That's all well and good, but a reminder: static images burn in on AMOLED screens. Perhaps Sammy set it to change as a preventative measure.
I just got the s8+ and I am wondering if there is a way to make the keyboard larger on the screen. Thanks!

This isn't quite the place to post your question.
However
While the Samsung Keyboard is open, press the key that looks like a gear, and select "Keyboard size and layout."
Make sure to always thoroughly check app settings!

I'm using SwiftKey. Wonderful app.
Hi, I got my s8+ a couple of days ago and I am using a black theme from Samsung which indeed doesn't theme the nav bar when the keyboard is open.
I am afraid to root it right away and if this works then I am all for it.
Question: themes from the Samsung store only change the color of the built-in apps but not the 3rd party apps like whatsapp.
Even the color of the notifications are still white. Any ideas?

Then just go for black navigation bar. No burn in with shut down pixels.

I was thinking more of the navigation buttons themselves. The image of the keys inverts when the bar is white.

There are actually many people reporting burn in on the navigation buttons, sadly. I was looking for a way to keep the bar fully functional but invisible. Do you guys know anyway to do it? Thanks

I use All In One Gestures to activate immersive mode. Unfortunately the keyboard (and a few other random things) don't work while in immersive mode, so I set an edge gesture at the bottom of the screen to deactivate it if I need to use the keyboard.
I also set navigation to edge gestures so I don't need to exit immersive mode often.

I think all of this is a lot o hassle. Mine's coming today and I'll try some immersive mode options, but will keep looking for the invisible icons idea as this would change absolutely nothing on my daily use of the device.

Full Screen Or Hide Notch

What setting do you guys prefer? Notch or notch hidden? I have mine full screen with notch it doesn't bother me and I think it looks pretty nice
Full screen with notch shown. Hidden just looks ugly imo

Ya I think it looks better with the notch as well I don't mind it without tho it still looks clean
Hiding the notch borks some things like Android Auto. I got used to it very quickly and prefer the full screen.
I have it full screen as well. Also I use Nova launcher and I use the gesture swipe up to toggle/hide the status bar. That also hides the notch on the fly but also hide all the status bar info unless you pull down. Just thought that was an interesting way to hide show the notch on the fly.
I also have full screen with notch. I thought it would bother me but it doesn't.
With notch, like most others, it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would and actually looks nicer than the entire top blacked out.

Some of us OnePlus 6 users, who connect to infotainment systems, for Android Auto, have discovered we don't have a choice. If the notch is hidden, the car's touch screen doesn't respond. The image displayed might not even fit.
It's great to have a choice. But, without an update from OnePlus, some of us are finding there's no option.
Before my own hand was forced, I hadn't made up my mind as to which I preferred.
And Nova Launcher provides some extraordinarily useful settings, for making the most of a navigation-button-free landscape, on this device's screen.
Can't believe I'm the only one so far hiding the notch! Not that I hate it or anything, I just think it looks better hidden. It helps balance it with the chin.
I've been switching back and forth...kinda like them both actually...but I mostly leave the notch
Hello, guys!
What does everyone mean by hiding the notch? Just making it black or disabling the notch area completely? Is there any ROM with the ability to turn off the notch area and move notifications beneath the notch so that I could have just a normal status bar with a long row of icons?

By default, "hiding" the notch, simply turns it to black background. That never made sense to me, so I just left it as is. I'm also interested in an option the move the status bar below the notch, so I can see more notifications.
Black status bar in my op6 - so ntoch hidden. Not bother me at all and there is enough space for icons, and more space on display itself.
OnePlus 6 @ Tapatalk
I'd also like this option.
I really don't mind the notch at all. If anything I wish most apps would allow me to fill it totally when in immersive mode instead of blacking it out. Many apps don't use the space.

LG - LMG710AWM- How to permanently blackened the status bar around the notch?

Hi,
Can someone please help me permanently blackened the status bar around the notch on LG - LMG710AWM (Canadian). It is not rooted and I just hate the dreaded notch so much, I will send the phone back if I can not turn that s*** off. natcho notch or whatever did not work. :-| :crying:
...and just to clarify, I am not trying to be racist or discriminatory against status bar, black or any other colors or things...heck, I will be fine if I can get it all white all the time. I just can't stand the status bar changing itself with the apps background colors. That is absolutely the worst UI oversight if it is not manageable by the users in Android.
