What do you mean by doesn't stay open? Is it force closing? Or getting killed in the background?

I attempt to open it to make a call or look at contacts or whatever and it just closes.

Stock phone app sucks. I downloaded the Google dialer. A much better option.

How exactly does one do that? I've tried downloading an APK but it fails to install.

Official Twitter app

Anyone know why Youtube links open the mobile website rather than open the official Youtube app?

Did you set it as default? Go to your browser under Manage Applications and clear defaults. Try again.

Yes. Didn't make a difference. When I use Tweetcaster I'm prompted to open using browser or Youtube app.

Are you using the new twitter? The one that looks like the one on the iPhone or the old application? On the old one (which I use) I get the prompt.

Everything works properly with Tweetcaster. I'm prompted to use the Youtube app and it works as it should. With the official Twitter app I'm not prompted at all. The browser just opens and takes me to the mobile website.

Already tried that. Even went so far as to do a complete wipe and it's the same thing. Not a huge deal. Just an annoyance.
I've been having this issue as well since I updated to the new version of the Twitter app. None of the suggested fixes work. I'm pretty sure it's just the app.

Soundhound missing

So Soundhound came preinstalled on my AT&T One X (it is in my Settings/Applications), but it isn't in my app drawer or anywhere where I can access it easily, no widgets or anything. I've tried uninstalling updates, disabling it, and re-enabling it and nothing is working. I'm not sure if there's much I can do without rooting (f*** you AT&T) but does anyone else have this issue?
its hidden in the "music" app along with tunein
Same problem here. Went to remove as much att crap as I could and saw it listed in my installed apps much to my surprise.. And yet I couldn't find it anywhere. I ended up installing the paid version through the amazon app store with no problems. Just strange...

This right here. I'll roll with the free version even if it's through another icon.

Ready2Go is the setup app for AT&T. It allows you to migrate contacts if you are moving from a non-android phone and copy a config from the AT&T website. It doesn't do anything after that.

Cannot be disabled. It basically stores info that lets you set your phone up with one click, say if you did a factory reset, you can use ready 2 go to put your phone back like it was before

I noticed setup dissapeared, does anyone know how to bring that back up?

Can't access google settings on phone

I have a Chinese Honor 8 and have installed Google on it. Everything works fine but I cannot access the Google settings page. I know its there because I seen it pop up once asking if I want to enable Android Device manager.
Any idea how I can access it? When I go to accounts -> google and click on it, nothing happens.

Google settings has a separate app icon nowadays.
Hope so that it got hidden in any app groups. You need to check in the app groups.
If all the google apps will be inside any app group (Folder like thing). It might be inside that.

There's no icon for it, I checked everywhere.
On my other phones on Android 6 I must go to the Google account and the settings opens when you click on it. On this phone, nothing happens.
Did you install Google play services? The Google settings apps comes with it.

Yes of course. Everything works perfect and I know the Google settings app is there because it asked me something about device manager and I saw the Google settings. But there is no way for me to access it by myself.

Too lazy Anyway I found a workaround solution using the app QuickShortcutMaker. You can choose Google Play Services there and the created shortcut opens google settings.

Try with searching the settings by swiping downwards in home screen...
Let us know the result. So that we can get a clear idea on the thing.
Also thanks for mentioning the app name to do the workaround.

First thing I tried was the search, it couldn't find it. I spent literally an hour looking through the phone for a way to access the google settings. Using that app to create the shortcut was the only thing that worked.
Your probing for the solution and posting the solution for it will be useful for future people. Thank you...

facebook app problems?

Anybody else expiriencing problems with some functions of FB app? Cannot edit the searches because it closes the app the same issue with the notifications when I get them and if I want to look at them the app closes?
I have uninstalled FB and installed it again... same problem....
No problem here. P.S. Here s the development... Not the questions.
Same problem. Clearing app cache helps for a few minutes and after that it crashes again.

I'm on Nougat,B360 on FRD-L09 and as i said i have no problem. You made a factory reset after update ? It's recommended.
You definitely should do hard reset, also some users are facing battery drain with fb app.
I've done factory reset and the problem still exists.

Ok. Got a solution. You need to turn off "links open externally" at Facebook app settings, close the app, try open some links, and than it wil stop crashing. The problem related to the fact that in Android 7 there is no Android webview anymore, so the cause for the crashes is chrome browser. Hope this will help you.
I have done the factory reset. Uninstalled the app, the problem is still there. For example I got the notification that a friend has birthday and if I click on it the FB app closes.

This is not solution for my case. Notification is not external link and it doesent open in chrome. But I have tried your suggestion and it allready was on off.
I have written an example above... I got the notification for birthdays, if I click on it the fb app opens and closes. Its not external link.

I know it's not external and i had the same exact problem. the facebook app uses android system webview and in android 7 google disabled it and started to use google chrome instead:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/07/20/google-explains-chrome-will-become-webview-android-7-0/
try to re-install chrome. after that open instant link in facebook and finally hit the birthday reminder.

Now I turned ON option external links and its working
After posting a temporary solution - i think i found the cause.
The app crashes if the app language is set to other language than your device's language.
I assume that anyone with the same problem uses facebook app in english when the device's language is set to other language.
waiting for your testing and comments.

Anyone know whats going on here?

I don't know what I did or what happened but what the hell is this? How did I disable adguard I don't remember disabling anything lol. It better not be Google or Samsung disabling my apps on their own free will.
I have no idea how to fix this and online searching has no answers. I don't even have a package disable installed. Just nova launcher. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck..
you can enable them in playstore, hangouts is always disabled till you enable it in playstore. Who knows why???

Hello. I have received messages like yours sometimes, and they came from Nova Launcher and one of the widgets installed on my main screen. It was a Zooper widget one, that had to open browser when tapping on it, but was not well configured. May be yor issue is the same...
