I read online about Horizontal Lighting notification on the One Plus 7 Pro. I have one the past two days and trying to enable it.

I think I read somewhere (or heard in a youtube video) that it's coming with a future update, which also explains why no reviewer showed it off...

Mine only does the Horizon notification once when notification first comes in, it's not constant, I really wish it was. At first that wasn't working for me because I disabled animations in the developer options but I re-enabled one of them and it worked again. But only notifying once is not helpful at all.
It is very subtle....and yes I also wish it would stay on.

Hi all
Just got my 2nd nexus 5, first one went back for touch screen issues. Got 2nd one and this has problem too.
If someone sends me a text the pulse notification light pulses once and that's it. No repeat. However after that if someone sends me a text it works as it should, ie repeats every 10 seconds.
Seems very random as to when it works properly. Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks all
Chris

Yes, people have this problem on stock rom.. It appears randomly though and not as often as you're getting. A restart fixes it... Are you using Light Flow or any app to control the LED??
No will light flow solve this?

May be, May be not. Even light flow has some random problems with LED notifications... For some people it works flawlessly, for some it doesn't... Only way is to try it out...

Trying it now seems to work ok. Strange that my last nexus didn't suffer this problem. Wounder if Google are aware of this issue?
Also on a side note not sure if it's related but I'm sure my first nexus 5 did a software update when I first took it out of the box, my new one did not do that.

Yes, I think they are aware of it... I remember reading it somewhere around XDA about it.. Can't find a link to it though.. I guess we will just have to wait for the update and see... FYI, a reboot fixes the issue temporarily..
It didn't update because the ones which were manufactured in January came with 4.4.2 Out of the box which is the latest update!

Thanks for your reply mate, for me when I reboot the first message does not work, then they seem ok after that, that's just for sms, I get no notifications at all with whatsapp etc, however light flow seems to work ok at moment but would be nice if Google did a fix.
As the title says.
I am tired of finding an app which will bring back the Silent mode in Lollipop, nothing works, including the one which was released earlier today claiming about bringing Silent mode back, SoundHUD, it does not work on my Note 3.
So I am asking this here, in case there is an app and I don't know it.
Again, I have a Galaxy Note 3, so if there's an app which works on a Nexus or those type of devices doesn't mean it will work on mine.
I 2nd this. I want a solution for this as well. App/Script/Hack/Mod.....whatever.

Yeah, I know. It's kinda weird that there's no app or mod for this so far, L is released pretty much for over a month now!
Hit the volume button, then none? It will put the phone in interruption mode and silent. You can even choose when it will go back to sound mode in case you forget to change it back.

Check this article http://www.androidauthority.com/soundhud-lollipop-silent-mode-589336/ Haven't tried it I'm on KK so don't ask, i just remembered i saw it and thought it might do the trick for you.
Apparently, Samsung agrees with us here! The new Sound/Notification/Interruption features suck ballz. They will be fixed immediately in an incoming update rolling around the world.

First of all that will disable all sorts of notifications, I mean the display won't pop up, there will be no LED and most importantly the Alarm sound will be silent too, LOL.
Google is a genius.

Yeah, thanks for mentioning that, but you might have missed my original post. In case any one else gets excited about that app, well let me tell you, it does absolutely nothing. The dev should bugger off honestly.

Thanks for these, I have seen these articles, but as you can see its for S5, but I would like the update on my Note 3 too, I hope they will release it soon.
I came from one plus 6T and I think that best way to deal with no LED notifications was app called Plus Beat. It activate stock ambient display according to predefined time interval. Sadly it's no working on 7 Pro anymore. Anyone is aware of good alternative for that kind of app?
Hello
I also come from the 6T and I have installed it in my 7 Pro.
I think it worked better in the 6T, but I do not notice that goes wrong in the 7 Pro.
The only thing that ever worked for me is the option of DND profiles. When I set it up and activate it, I get into the app and the Option Enable Plus Beat It's off.
Anyone know how to fix it?
There's another app. It's called "Always on Edge". Works fine for me.

Did you remove the battery optimization on the app?

Tried Pixel Pulse today and doesn't seem to work either. Notifications come in, however they do not reappear again(pulse). Tried Always on Edge and Pulse Beat neither of them pulse, which is weird because Beat Pulse worked perfect for a day. Battery optimization was off for these apps.

It's really strange, some reports pixel puls working other they it's not working.. So far pixel pulse working flawlessly for me. It repeat pulse until notification it's dismissed. I try some edge but didn't like it. I prefer apps that use native ambient display rather than screen overlay..like aos edge or any led screen app

This may be a very dumb question but is there a way to dismiss notifications from the actual notification screen (I believe this is the ambient screen)?
The only way I've been able to dismiss notifications is to go into the lock screen and swipe away the notification.

I'm using Pixel Pulse (free version) on the OP7P Global US variant GM1917 OOS 9.5.4 rooted. I do have notifications to repeat every 20 seconds.
As per topic..
anyone knows or have a single bit of idea is native always on display is ever gonna come for this device ?
7T does not have it as well. So my guess: nope.
Which is really amazing/pitiful imho
I wouldn't hold your breath...
very bumped ...
no AOD no notification lights ...
at least what they can do is make the ring pulsate in shorter intervals..
how can anyone know if there is any missed calls or msgs if the phone is not picked up.
remembered they mentioned it was coming.. in May ? June? ...

I use an app called always on amoled it can uses a bit of battery though but it's the closest I've found to something similar to what Samsung has.

Oh really? That's strange mine is fine. I have the T-Mobile variant btw.
Pixel pulse was my go to alternative for AOD notifications but since it doesn't support 10 yet I just have to deal with missed notifications. First one plus device and probably my last. They make great devices if you SETTLE for less than what mid-range phones offer. I wish I had a Instagram and Twitter I'd call it the CEO. Tell him give us AOD if it takes up battery life that's our choice. It's ignorant honestly. Live and learn I guess. Back to LG or Samsung sadly next time I upgrade. 2 years probably

Use NotifyBuddy apk. You won't have google assistant via "ok google" but it's an option for now

Works great! I don't talk to my phone so I do not know if it will interfere with OK Google.
Hi,
so i received my Oneplus 8T yesterday and it works like a charm so far. But theres something i am unhappy with, after I did set up everything. I opened up PoGo and noticed that it isnt fullscreen. So I went to the settings and tried to change the Apps to Fullscreen, but there are no apps shown.
I have read some threads with the oneplus 8 pro facing the same issue.
Anyone else got that problem?
Regards,
Alex

Hi,
I was also looking for something to force all apps to fullscreen. Have you found anything on this yet?
It's a OnePlus thing. The OnePlus 8 is the same way. I think it has to be something to do with the Oxygen software. They haven't given us a way to make apps work full screen with the punch hole camera. You should be able to use all apps full screen a OnePlus device with a punch hole camera just like you can on the last 2 generations of Samsung devices with the same kind of camera setup.
I know several people have reached out to OnePlus about it but they haven't said anything and have remained quiet about it.
To force full screen you have to enable developer options and there's an option for cutout and you can disable it, that may be your only option
