[ROM] Full Stock Roms for the L29 C636 - Huawei Mate 20 X Guides, News, & Discussion

Here is a thread where I will post the latest official full stock ROM for the EVR-L29. I will update the ROM as each official one is released. You can extract the update.app from the base zip with Huawei Update Extractor to get all the img files you need. Currently the latest is 207. You only need the full base zip but I included all three in case anyone wants them.

Thank you so much for this thread.
I currently have a mate 20 x with the Resurrection remix rom and I was thinking of coming back to stock for various reasons.
In your L29 9.0.197 folder there are 3 downloadable files :
- update_full_base.zip
- update_full_cust_EVR-L29_hw_spcseas.zip
- update_full_preload_EVR-L29_hw_spcseas_R1.zip
Do I need to flash all 3?

Just the base

Hi, noob here. I'm using evr-l29, as you know, when new software update rolled out, it doesn't come to all evr-l29 at once. So if I didn't receive the new software update, and then you got the latest one, will I be able to install it on my device?

Error

It depends if you're rooted or not. If you are you can flash with emui flasher. If not you'll have to wait until you get the update.

Whats the best way to flash the stock firmware? Should I use twrp, emui flasher or adb?

You should be able to use emui flasher or you can use fastboot if you're already on the same firmware.

EMUI Flasher starts but it fails everytime.
I'm on ressurection remix rom how can I flash this zip file via fastboot?

Corrupt file
I think I know why I can't flash this rom; when I try to extract it winrar tells me that the archive is corrupt.
I tried to install the zip through twrp but it also tells me it's corrupt
Has anyone successfully flashed it?

Sorry I don't mean to be a spammer but i think my phone is bricked and without it I'm kinda screwed. :crying:
I've tried to flash this through EMUI flasher but the process always fails.
I tried to unzip the update_full_base but winrar tells me it's corrupt
I tried to flash via TWRP and it also tells me the file is corrupt
I tried re flashing the erecovery and now my phone is in a constant bootloop even after reflashing via ADB.
I also get the following message :
"ERROR MODE
Attention!
Please update system again
Error!
Func NO : 11 (recovery image)
Error NO : 2 (load failed!)
Could you please reupload the update_full_base to I can try to flash via twrp again?

I've been trying to upload it again but Androidfilehost is a big pile of crap so every large file I upload gets to 100 percent then hangs or fails. I'll have to find a different place to host files from now on.

While you look for an alternative to host the android files, do you mind providing the link to to original file so I can download it straight from the source?

I grabbed it from eRecovery. If you boot into erecovery and do a full download and when the download gets to 100% as soon as it says verifying update immediately hold in the power button to reboot the phone. Boot into twrp and the downloaded full rom will be in data/hwota, copy it to your pc. When .208 gets pushed to my device I'll upload that one.

I installed twrp to the ercecovery partition in order to try to flash the update_base.zip which wasn't successful, and now when I boot in erecovery it takes me to twrp.
I tried to reflash the stock erecovery via twrp as advised on the twrp thread but my phone just got stock in a constant bootloop.

Help I bricked my phone

I was messing around with my phone on TWRP and decided to reset it by wiping from TWRP.
Now my phone is stuck in a bootloop and I can't fix it.
I've tried the "dload" method but it doesn't work
I've only had this phone for a day
People here have been quite successful recovering seemingly bricked devices with FunkyHuawei. Have you given it a shot?

I'm on the same situation on my MHA-L29 (EU version)!
I've installed the TWRP, and got a bootloop (the device doesn't recognise any OS installed).
Here's what I've tried:
1- Huawei Update PC (doesn't recognise the device to update)
2- dload (tries to install the update via USB load stock recovery but stucks on 28% and again the bootloop)
3- tried to flash via fastboot the extracted .img files from the firmware (boot.img recovery.img and system.img because there's no cust.img file inside this firmware or at least I could not find it)
Anybody has another idea? Maybe a TWRP backup from any charitable soul (MHA-L29 EU version)?
Thanks everybody in advance!!

There are two methods:
1. Via FunkyHuawei: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/introducing-funkyhuawei-flash-official-t3515875/page97

Thanks @5[Strogino] Have you been able to solve the Error:7 when flashing by TWRP the update_full_hw_eu.zip?
I'm trying that and no luck!!
What about flashing the extracted files from Update.app? Will work? (there's no cust.img file there...)
Thanks!!!

No, i did not solve this error. Author of TWRP-build told about lack of kernel-sources. If Huawei will post these sources, someone could be able to build TWRP compatible with official updates.

I want to downgrade to MM from Nougat version 360 to B122. Downloaded the official MM from Honor Site and rollback package.
Flashed Rollback successfully but when I try to flash the B122 it says Could not find update package!
Any help please? I want to be able to install official Nougat when it releases.

I'm saying, let it boot... Then at the boot screen where it says hit the power button to boot normally or hold the volume up for 3 seconds to go to erecovery you just hold volume up for 3 seconds. It'll download your stock package and reset your phone entirely.

If you flashed a stock firmware successfully it will not boot into twrp, flashing a stock firmware will install stock recovery, which means the stock firmware did not flash properly. Have you tried smart switch at all? Are you sure you have the correct firmware to flash through odin?

Yes I am sorry I didn't explained that. Atfer I tried to install stock ROM it got stuck, then smart switch didn't recognize the device but I manage to do the emergency recovery thing with model number and s/n but same thing it got stuck on the same installing system update screen. After that I installed TWRP via Odin to try to push a custom ROM zip, I did that but when I tried to install it failed.

Download Samsung SmartSwitch and from the upper menu select Emergency Recovery Mode, put your phone in Download Mode and connect it to your computer, enter your model number and S/N when asked, and it will download and install latest firmware for your model.
Sorry, i haven't seen that you already tried that.

That means TWRP works and Fastboot/Download works. What is the actual Galaxy S6 model? Mine is G920F.
What custom ROM did you try?
What version of TWRP are you using? The wrong one can create issues.
Did you wipe the phone trough TWRP first? Twice? Including internal memory?

That error displays IF you flash an image intended for Nougat. Because on Nougat the recovery/boot partition included both ramdisk and zimage, in Oreo they are separate.
Or if it's corrupted.

You could install a kernel manager, but it shouldn't really be needed.
Unless you want to tweak the default settings a bit, then get something like Kernel Adiutor

Get to fastboot mode, you're currently in error mode.
Just hold power and volume down while USB is plugged in and you should end up in Fastboot mode. It might take a few tries.
Then flash a recovery for Oreo.

You could install a kernel manager, but it shouldn't really be needed.
Unless you want to tweak the default settings a bit, then get something like Kernel Adiutor

Thank you for your help boss also the guy recommend
To do a full cycle charge the discharge for the kernel to set up I'm little confused how can i do a full charge if when I flash the kernel my battery was like 40%
So I guess the kernel startup from that.

Just let it drain now to 0% then charge to 100.

Get to fastboot mode, you're currently in error mode.
Just hold power and volume down while USB is plugged in and you should end up in Fastboot mode. It might take a few tries.
Then flash a recovery for Oreo.
Exactly I can enter fastboot mode, but I do not know what files to flash, what do you recommend ...?

@ante0 brother install as you said, recovery stock everything well the flashing, but I do not achieve any change in the phone everything remains the same .. what is happening ..? It does not let me Reaching the recovery .. neither stock, nor TWRP helps @ ante0 .. what will be my problem
Help please ..up up ..!!! ???
i am having the same issue, all of my partitions are seemingly flashed correctly in order but i am bootlooping every gsi or openkirin build i flash idk what to do :/
Same here, I have high hopes for one day being able to flash these but even following all the instructions such as factory reset, format the data partition etc., it's a bootloop every time for me when flashing these and then a tedious return to EMUI.

Hi, I have an error query when I start the phone Error Mode Func 11 Recovery Image, Error 2 Image Failed, my version is MH9-L09C432B368 I got this version following this tutorial:
android-hilfe.de/[/url] forum / root-custom-roms-modding-fuer-huawei-mate-9.3022 / anleitung-upgrade-auf-oreo-downgrade-auf-nougat.857015.html
everything worked perfect, but I got a version via OTA the 369 having the TWRP, Bootloader unlocked I had the brilliant idea to block the Bootloader to install version 369, there I start the problem of error 11 and 2.
Can anyone tell me what files should I flash to recover the cell phone? I have understood that I must flash the recovery img images as well as the img of the erecovery but I could not make the cell phone work, if I install the twrp it does not start either, they could tell me what steps I should take. Give to be able to save my cell phone?
Thank you very much everyone for the help you can give me
