I have a Samsung S8 Active and I'm getting incredible upload speeds but average download.
I'm on the largest and fastest mobile carrier here in Australia, anyone got any ideas what might be causing this? Always thought DL should be the same or faster than UL?

Weird thing is you can see the download speed spikes quite high, then it just plummets.
On a similar issue in a different location I had my mate who is on the same network carrier sit next to me at a shop. We both ran a speedtest, he has a Google Pixel 2 (on specs the phones are almost identical, mine should be slightly faster). His hit 100Mbps+ for download while mine only hit 52Mbps.
double-post
So just to bump I've discovered that Carrier Aggregation is enabled on the Samsung G892A but it never connects it is always showing in the Service menu as CA: Not-Config so it is enabled but not connected even though the local carrier allows CA/VoLTE/VoWifi.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get these working?

Anyone experiencing extremely slow data speeds on LTE as well as 4G on AT&T in NYC? I used to pul down 20-30MB/s and now I am only getting at max 200KB/s for the past 3 days.
Could be throttled?

There's another post about NYC having lte issues

i've only used 1.5gb of data so far and never received a message regarding throttling. Weird. I'll give AT&T a call to see what's up.
try changing ur apn.

It seems fine to me. My uploads could be a little faster.

Too much throttling, or not throttling the unlimited users enough.
That's cause there are two million children who think their phone is a TV.
Simpup, thanks for the link. That is exactly what is happening to me. Called AT&T and they claim i am not being throttled.
I made a previous thread where I tried to force LTE to solve my Cell Standby issue. In the end I couldn't figure out a way to do this on a non-rooted phone.
Until recently I found an app Network Mode that allowed me to select "LTE only" which I thought would solve the problem of my phone wasting his battery to finding a GSM connection (which I guess the problem is).
Cell Standby is currently still on the top with usage, but it dropped from 70-85% to 50%.
But I want it to drop more, is there anything else I can do to test to find what causes him to use this much battery, and possibly disable it?
PS. I don't have this problem when I put my Belgian SIM in my phone which isn't limited to internet data.

Bump
I tried to contact Google, they sent me to Samsung. Samsung said it's a stock android problem so sent me back, placed the bug on their bug system but no response yet. Anything I can try myself while waiting?
Last bump, I promise. I'm stuck between two companies and my phone can't survive a day.
Hi everyone.
Please help if you have any advice
I dropped my laptop on my OPO and I broke both displays (both OPO and laptop).
This sucks bad because I can barely afford to fix one, let alone two.
I did fix the OPO and - this is weird - I am getting service issues.
I went back to the repair guy (really nice person), and he opened the OPO in front of me and showed me that the antenna is well connected so no issue there.
The issue is very odd: I do get to register my sim on the network (or at least it does show my carrier) but my reception is barely there.
Now I know the OPO has issues showing signal bar (right?) but in any case my signal bar always shows no signal.
I resetted everything and even went back to stock OxygenOS firmware (I think).
Getting barely any service. Tried a different SIM - same problem.

My phone's(LG G6) network signal strength is often NOT stable. Any solution or recommended app to help boost it?

Cool stuff bro
Try a network reset if you haven't already, a painless reset.
Clear System Cache found on the boot menu, never hurts and can fix many strange erratic behaviors.
Do not do a reload; find the root cause and correct. Otherwise it will probably just reoccur even if the hard reset initially seems to work.
Hey there,
I have listed two photos below, one of which is the connection of my Axon ultra 30 and the other of my Samsung Galaxy S10. They are both in the exact same location using the exact same band and SIM/provider. As you can see the RSSI/dBm is clearly better on my Galaxy S10, the Axon Ultra falls below (barley usable)-113 while the Galaxy S10 is a strong -49. I have been facing an uphill battle trying to get my Axon Ultra to function correctly for calls and texts, I have been told that the APN configurations may be the culprit but right now ZTE does not offer the ability to input your own and the default ones do appear to be correct for the most part. I was wondering if any of you with knowledge of these sorts of things may have an idea what the bad RSSI/dBm may be an indication of? Could it potentially be that the network hardware is defective? Or could it be at the software level/configurations? Or something else altogether? Phones that were not bought directly from the carrier in my country (Canada) are primarily delegated to 3G calling, I initially though it was a VoLTE issue my Galaxy s10 works fine with out it. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
