I thought maybe the firmware needed updating but thru wifi nothing comes up. Also, since im using a custom ROM i cant connect with wearable. Does anyone know a way to install applications or place music files on the watch without gear wearables because without the heart sensor and the music this is an extremely expensive watch.

Its not a custom watch rom. Its a custom Phone rom, Blackdiamond for the S7. And the wearable app not working is a known issue.

I connected my watch to a friends un modded galaxy and it put all the programs on it that I can't. So could I repeat this procedure, since when I hard reset the device in desperation everything disappeared. And then use adb to push mp3 files to the phone? Or could I skip the middle man and install say, spotify or speedo go directly with adb?
Still don't know what happened to the sensor, it worked once, and then it didn't.

I'm in China right now, and i bought the new Samsung Mp4 Player (Samsung Galaxy Player WLAN 4.0, YP-G1) at amazon.cn .
Its my first android device, but iam not a electronics noob. I thought i would get an android market app, but actually theres only a "samsung app store" with a total of 8 apps available...
I found apk links to googlemaps and skype, and managed to install them. But all downloads of the android market failed to install.
Am I not going to succeed in trying to install the app market? I read about "flashing" the zip file, but no guide talks about this player.

Does the SDK package maybe help? I read thats a way to install packages too.

So far I downloaded many versions of the market apk.
For most of them I'm unable to install them. If i clock on the apk it says installation failed.
One actually worked, at least i could install it. When i want to open it though it pop ups with a white screen and then disappears again.
SDK didnt work so far since the USB drivers aren't working for the Galaxy Player yet, at least Windows says it can`t find any drivers in the extras\usb-driver folder.
I found a guide for the i9000, using the dial pad. But no phone functionality, no dial pad
If I would succeed in rooting my player, is it sure the market will be installable?

I can get R/W root access, but it wont copy anything into the system apps folder.

I will try to sign it with signing tool i found, lets see if that helps.

I actually succeded with some apk, but when i try to start the market app the screen turns white for half a second and then the app closes down again.

Well, in the end i managed to half brick the player. Then i couldnt find an original rom (actually without a nandroid version for the player i also couldnt update the rom before flashing the wrong one).
I also tried the rom from the koren YP-GB1 player, but with that rom the touchscreen was not working correctly, left and right was ok, but up and down where exchanged, try writing on a keyboard thats actually at another place on the screen...
So in the end i went to samsung and they just gave me a paper, now amazon send me a new one.
If anybody gets the same player, dont try something funny until the original rom is out

Im trying to get someone to help walkme through the rooting process of a motoactv watch that I received for christmas. The device was recently rooted, and it appears that the process is fairely easy. I have limited rooting experience with android phones, and have jailbroken a few iphones, but have never had to mess with command lines, or adb. If someone is willing to walkme through the process on here I will be more than willing to make a modest paypal donation to them (we can discuss payment terms.)

Also note that I am only interested in doing this as long as the core fitness apps and capabilities of the device arent completly destroyed, as this was a gift from my girlfriend and it needs to function in a fitness capacity. Im thinking that they shouldnt be affected, and that I probably will only gain the ability to delete them, but I could be wrong. I have one on order. I thought the process was pretty straightforward. It is easier on a Mac or Linux as there are scripts that use zergrush already available. If you are unfamiliar with using the command line I would recommend finding someone else to root it for you.
I am rooting mine for Google music and adding watch faces but I am kind of tickled by the idea of watching NetFlix on a wristwatch.

I already rooted the MotoACTv that I have. But I am having problems installing the Google APPS zip file downloaded from the cynagoen web site. Can some one explain how to install this so I can get the Market up and running on the watch. I already installed other apps like pandora and they work. Only thing is that I installed this with adb install command and not the via the market. Would love to have the market working. Please help.

If you downloaded the gapps from cyanogenmod as you should have, you need to adb push everything that isn't an apk.
There are a few libraries that need to be installed. adb push filename /file/location/name is the way to do this. The locations match the unzipped folder names.

I also need step by step directions please, bricked my watch
I tried to follow the directions and I finally got the phone to root. Then when applying the new interface it must have not liked the commands I was trying to use.
Can anyone give step by step directions. It took me about 2 hours to figure out what applications I needed and how to use them so I am sure others would benefit from this.
The directions on that original post was way too vague for us noobs

Oh, no... Are you sure your watch is bricked? That really is awful... I thought mine was for a bit after I used Super One Click to root it, but I was able to recover it by holding Start + Power for 10-15 seconds then plugging it in.
It seems zergRush is safer -- I ended up with root after that, but a couple of others in the #motoactv channel on freenode tried it and ended up with the phone seemingly dead (though a start+power off like above fixed it) and without root.
I posted this in the other thread but I am impatient and figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here too so,

MOTOACTV update without Windows
I'd like to root my MOTOACTV. My clock is running version 4.53.50. To root I had to update at least to version 4.55.78. I found the file delta-ota-Blur_Version.4.53.50-4.55.78.Motorola-F100.Retail.en.US.zip but I've no idea how to flash that to my clock without Windows.
Any ideas?

btw: last weekend i noticed the following, strange behaviour. I connected a second gear s3 to my smartphone. therefore the 2nd gear s3 was softreseted. so far so good... later i switched back to connect to my 1st gear s3 and this watch was softreseted automatically, so i had to customize everything and install apps again. this was not as expected.

Really good question in my opinion.
I have only practice to backup TPK and WGT on Tizen Mobile (SM-Z130H)...
No idea how it work with Gear Watches...
Maybe check older Gear S, S2 threads...
No idea if all users scared to catch the install packages...

We have an App called Tizen Store...
This app download encrypted TPK from Server...
after Download finish...
Handset DEcrypt this TPK... its simple ZIP like APK package...
Then file looks like this:
blabla.tpk ---> during download
blabla.tpk.depacked.tpk after Decryption...
I have to catch the *.tpk.depacked.tpk package... otherwise file is useless... as I have no idea how to Decrypt manual...
If you have no luck... then maybe Gear TPK is also encrypted on your rooted Handset...
And you need rooted Gear S3 to catch the TPK...
Maybe you could monitoring "Gear Manager" folders... during download...

I have problem with my gear S2 info says that is sm-r720 with soft r720xxu2eqj2
My smartwatch suddenly starts to drain the battery (about 2-4 hours after full charge) ordinary restart didn't help, also i can't uninstall watchfaces, they return after a restarts. When I tried to perform a soft reset, I take a while and after a reboot look like nothing happens, all watch faces, apps remain. Its also paired to my smartphone. So i tryied hard reset too, restart when i see title "restarting" i clicked until i see "Select BOOT MODE" i choosing "recovery" and hold power button for a couple of seconds, and watch boots normally. So there is any other way to fix power drain? I thinking about re-flashing gear but I don't know where I can find suitable soft? I know there is many subversions of gear S2 I don't want to make things worst by flashing with wrong software.

The symptoms look the same I bet that samsung released flawed update, that affecting some gears.
I have typed code and watch says:

How to get log out of gear 2? I have googling with no luck...

User 1 with Gear S2... and he allready tried flashing more then 1 Firmware without success...
And SM-R760 has write protected Bootloader...
Maybe better to have Log files... before waste time with same result...
Btw... risk to render your Gear S2 useless... if really something happens to Security... or eMMC damaged...

I flashed with new firmware and... nothing happened. When Odin finished uploading new ROM, (all 3 files), gear restart.. with no change.
I assume that new ROM should be installed. I repeat procedure twice for make sure, with no luck. I think the only way to fix it is to replace the mainboard, as could be more expensive than a new watch.

i have a Xomax xm-2va757 Radio. It seems to be an Allwinner Venus a3.
My Problem is, that I can’t using other apps or launchers correctly. Because the Apps haven’t any access to the system notifications. And no, I have also no access to activate it. So if there is no hidden menu for it, I meet to root.
If buyed this device with Android 10q. But it is only 9 pie.
i tried many things but nothing worked. And no proper help from the Seller.
I also doesn’t know, how to get into recovery.
I tried an update file with supersu. And the system doesn’t said any error. But nothing happens after restart.
And Rom manager gets no internet, but WiFi is still connected. And king and also Kongo root does not worked.
I also want to deactivate the building music player, because it is only good when you have only 20 audiofiles(No Folder Structure).
so, what kind of data you need else?
