Guys, Any Progress on Porting Project Treble Or Android P/Q Available On This?
Thanks In Advance
No never on this old model.
I'd like to see at least 8, maybe 9.0 on this. But never gonna happen, its not even on the 2014 edition

There is an Alpha build of 9 on the 2014 but it hasn't been updated since this time last year...
Was a shame Samsung released this tablet then simply ignored it...

Hello guys,
I searched on the internet about this topic, but I couldn't find anything related. However, I'm very curious if the first generation of Note 10.1 tablets (GT-N8000/8010/8013/8020) will get the Android OS 5 update.
Anything announced regarding this?
I think there will be No official update.
KitKat 4.4.2 will be the last version update of GT-N80xx.
Definitely not! N8000 update history:
- in a shop on september 2012 (here) with android 4.0
- got an update on january 2013 to android 4.1
- today on july 2014 still waiting an update
And im pretty sure it is a final release and the (phone)tablet is totally then forgotten...

It's not that bad if I'm honest... The newer software actually removes some of the goodness that makes the N8000/N8010 different from the bunch, like multi-windows for example. Sure there are more bells and whistles for the S-Pen but less multitasking friendly. Basically you're left with lots of custom roms, which is not bad by itself. It just requires more effort.

That article is one year old. Hence that we didn't know that kit kat was 5.0 or 4.4 back then.

Makes sense - kitkat announced September last year. Won't get hope up then !
Yeap i highly doubt there will be an official android L update for this series. However i can't wait to flash CM12 when it comes out to the device. It will give it another lease of life.
No More official version update after 4.4.2 KK...
But it is possible to port a custom ROM for N80xx in the future...

Android L????
Seriously?
I'd be happy if my 8013 get 4.4.2 - I'm not even going to pretend to expect to see L.

I love each update a manufacturer releases but to be honest i buy my device expecting none. I expect the warranty to be up held as long as I don't monkey with it (I never have a warranty). I expect build quality to be acceptable. I expect the functions it is supposed to have when I purchase it to work properly (never gonna happen because of wifi and bluetooth bug). The new OS versions usually contain a small benefit but rarely something outrageous and if I need that function (never have that I can recall since 4.0) I turn to mods. I think Samsung builds and prices these devices with a few updates in mind but to be realistic a company would go bankrupt if they produced updates for each device for as long as we the customer would like lol.

We don't even have the latest 7.1.1 yet.. But this tab has been out for a long time I think started on Kitkat consider 7.0 as the last update

I have the newest model( the k1)
There's a good chance.
https://www.androidheadlines.com/20...bring-android-o-to-the-shield-android-tv.html
This may be for the Shield TV, but we may get Oreo for the Shield Tablet as well.
I agree there's a chance. Nvidia has kept up support for this device for quite a while now.
I won't be disappointed if we don't get it.
You can be 100% sure we'll get O unofficial, but really not sure about official.
Yes, we will get Oreo on the shield, read this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/development/rom-tesla-n-7-0-014-t3491056/page37
I don't know WHEN we'll get it, but I know we WILL get it. As the post by GtrCraft confirms, developers are working on it.
The answer is here : Nvidia will not provide Oreo for K1... : http://androidandme.com/2017/10/news/nvidia-not-updating-shield-tablet-and-shield-tablet-k1-to-android-oreo/
Only alternative ROM will do it for us.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/development/rom-dominionos-t3464510/post74409005
We'll be lucky to get 7.1.1, let alone O.. Unofficial however...

As posted in the link above, Android 10 is set to launch on September 3rd.
As far as i am aware, manufacturers have to configure the Android 10 so it works optimally with their devices. And this process takes time to complete.
Does anyone rember how long it took to get Pie, when it was released for our device ? Thanks
Regarding Pie release: The first post in here appeared around November, while Pie itself was released around August. So it took roughly 4 months.

I am (was) in the Pie beta testing group and if I remember correctly, I got the upgrade around November indeed.
According to a Xiaomi Online Support attendant, 10 will start rolling out in UK this week.
When it's about updates, online supports often says what we want to hear
So wait and see...

No! It shouldnt be january!
Mi A2 Lite has pure Android.
- No Bloatware
- No UI
Plus our device supports Project Treble. They used this feature with Pie update. Our device's drivers didnt updated since 2018 because of the Project Treble they dont need to update those. But it will be good if they do.
There is nothing to be hard.

The hard thing is that xiaomi has problem with our vendor, that's why we don't see fully working custom versions of Android Q , the only way is flashing a gsi version , or Android 10 with custom vendor , so... they have big problem , mi a3 has the same problem , that's why the device is still on PIE (they have promised that the Q update for A3 will come in the end of October)
So... we'll see , miui 11 is still PIE too... so maybe the problem is not that small

Since pie builds with custom vendor is in user opinion "more bugged than with sock vendor" I don't if there is sense to make custom ROMs with custom vendor if users days it more bugged than stock vendor, otherwise I'm still trying to build superior q, of course with custom vendor

Not quite yet there speedy. It'll be soon imo. Lineage probably sooner. But we probably won't see stock 12 til February or March maybe a little sooner with samsung pushing like they have been doing. But I'm pretty sure its still in beta testing on 20 series :good::laugh:
So this phone didn't release with Android 12 so this means we gonna get only Android 13 as of the last Android update and it's stupid because this phone is released this year and Android 13 is expected to get released later this year.
Anyway is there any information on when we gonna get the Android 12 update?

I really wanted it to have android 12... I have never experienced android 12 and thought this might be my chance but no
Infact I'm so unlucky that my Poco X3 Pro bricked just 1 week before it got Android 12 update
and I'm not in it rn to flash custom roms as they aren't very stable and flashing without an official custom recovery is tough...
