As posted in the link above, Android 10 is set to launch on September 3rd.
As far as i am aware, manufacturers have to configure the Android 10 so it works optimally with their devices. And this process takes time to complete.
Does anyone rember how long it took to get Pie, when it was released for our device ? Thanks
Regarding Pie release: The first post in here appeared around November, while Pie itself was released around August. So it took roughly 4 months.

I am (was) in the Pie beta testing group and if I remember correctly, I got the upgrade around November indeed.
According to a Xiaomi Online Support attendant, 10 will start rolling out in UK this week.
When it's about updates, online supports often says what we want to hear
So wait and see...

It'll probably come at January.
But as always, expect wave of android Q custom ROMs faster than stock release

No! It shouldnt be january!
Mi A2 Lite has pure Android.
- No Bloatware
- No UI
Plus our device supports Project Treble. They used this feature with Pie update. Our device's drivers didnt updated since 2018 because of the Project Treble they dont need to update those. But it will be good if they do.
There is nothing to be hard.

The hard thing is that xiaomi has problem with our vendor, that's why we don't see fully working custom versions of Android Q , the only way is flashing a gsi version , or Android 10 with custom vendor , so... they have big problem , mi a3 has the same problem , that's why the device is still on PIE (they have promised that the Q update for A3 will come in the end of October)
So... we'll see , miui 11 is still PIE too... so maybe the problem is not that small

Since pie builds with custom vendor is in user opinion "more bugged than with sock vendor" I don't if there is sense to make custom ROMs with custom vendor if users days it more bugged than stock vendor, otherwise I'm still trying to build superior q, of course with custom vendor

Nowhere to be seen.
Let's hope it's not fake...
This is not at all fake. This is true. See the last 5 digits of Build Number - 8.4.9 - The naming convention followed by xiaomi (Last letter of year, followed by month, followed by date)
And see the kernel built server. It is built by mi server.
See the kernel version it's 71 and not 102 (which most custom ROMs uses) or something which shows it's completely stock and from xiaomi
This might not have been released to the public beta. The testing might happen inside the xiaomi team where this pic got leaked somehow.
But I'm almost 99% sure, this is make by Xiaomi. Now my question is when will we get it? By the end of May at least? Fingers crossed..! Good to see Xiaomi keeps improving software rather than just giving monthly security updates for Mi A1.
And have Project Treble in this 8.1 beta?

Yeah, 3.18.71 is the latest version on 8.1 CAF kernel tags, so we can be pretty sure that it isn't fake.

Yeah. Thinking the same. Would love to see stock 8.1.0 on tissot. Would be even better if it brings treble support. :fingers-crossed:

You just thought of it, so everyone can as well. The build number it's super easy to fake. Becuase it's super hard to just type the month day and year, right?

and why in that ss is used old baseband?? Xiaomi decided to revert baseband on oreo 8.1??
Baseband of gennuary/febbruary was: ta.2.3....
New baseband is: 953_gen....
For me it is fake, and anyway need a screen of OTA update when it is downloading. SS of system info means nothing.
I really think that we'll recieve Android 8.1 at the end of this month, but the second thing that makes me doubt about originality of this screenshot is that I have never seen Xiaomi provide latest android security patch level with vendor/kernel specific patches, I mean it's always been like 01/04/2018, not 05/04/2018.

I don't think so. What's the point of doing it? We don't even know who did this. So I think this is real.
Cant Trust Xiaomi
From past experience we cannot really say that this is legit. My be xiaomi are focusing more on MIIU running devices than their only stock android device and i doubt they will even make another successor of Mi a1. Their poll in twitter might have hurt their ego and might be taking sort of revenge on Android One device (No judgement Just a Thought)

If xiaomi is smart enough, they'd definitely don't want to loose the customers who love stock ROM. There are a lot of people who love xiaomi for it's great value for money hardware spec and stock ROM experience. And xiaomi knows it very well. If xiaomi is smart enough, it'll update Mi A1 to 8.1.0 and will keep introducing new phones in the A1 lineup. That's what the most they can do to get both MIUI and Stock ROM lovers towards them.

I personally believe it's fake. I had 8.1 on my Nexus 5X before I switched to Mi A1, and 8.1 did bring back the traffic indicator arrows inside the icons, and the signal icons are slightly rounded at the edges. The picture is not very good quality, but they don't seem to have that rounded aspect on that screenshot.
Doesn't mean I don't believe we'll get 8.1, but this screenshot, I think it's fake.
Upto which Android version, this phone (redmi note 7 pro) will receive Android updates? Any idea? I am new to Xiaomi world and have no idea about how and when they release software updates?

As of now, Xiaomi has promised us MIUI 11 based on Android Q, which is to be released in Q1 2020..
Yes, they provide OTA updates time to time..check out the updater app it, informs you bout any pending updates...
Honestly speaking updates are very late, they make us wait for a long time for almost nothing, just security patches and few negligible fixes...
Anyhow i dint buy this phone for updates and versions though., custom roms are way better in providing latest updates

But Violet hasn't received the best of custom ROMS yet, this will take a while, also lack of kernel sources prevent devs from making Custom Kernels for MIUI..
Has anybody started developing any Custom ROMs or custom recoveries for this device? I can't wait to replace the Color OS.
First wait for kernel release from realme

Then it seems that there's nothing much we can do now
i got info from a close source working in realme that bootloader will be unlocked in December 2019 after they release realme os.
So we can expect rom development in Q1 2020.

Realme OS this December? I just hope they do away with the heavy skinning of the ColorOS.
Lol seems that's not possible. Madhav already mentioned stock Android is "not optimised" and raw so it needs "optimisation" and modifications. Kinda dumb excuse imo. Skin does not affect performance much. So you can build vanilla Android with good optimised vendor files and kernel.
I was wondering when we will get the Android 10 update
Wondering the same .....
Probably not for a while, since I am not aware of any rumors of betas, even closed ones.
No respectable company should be pushing out a new product with a two year old OS, but here we are...
I like MIUI though, very Apple-like and the Mi Note is the first Android I am using without a third party launcher.
The update is on the way in February. (CC9 Pro China Developer ROM)

Hope you are right....
its release in china as beta maybe after one month or less
Most likely delayed because of coronavirus....
Got security update yesterday and miui 11.0.8.0 but still no Android 10....
Xiaomi is a joke. Second update in a row just for the security update. They will lose a lot of customers if they continue like this

Nope.

There are other brands out there so just buy something else.
Cmon relally? You heard about corona, or? There was not really a lot time this year for developing new roms..... BTW Android 10 is currently in Beta available for Note 10....

So this phone didn't release with Android 12 so this means we gonna get only Android 13 as of the last Android update and it's stupid because this phone is released this year and Android 13 is expected to get released later this year.
Anyway is there any information on when we gonna get the Android 12 update?

I really wanted it to have android 12... I have never experienced android 12 and thought this might be my chance but no
Infact I'm so unlucky that my Poco X3 Pro bricked just 1 week before it got Android 12 update
and I'm not in it rn to flash custom roms as they aren't very stable and flashing without an official custom recovery is tough...
