Nowhere to be seen.

Let's hope it's not fake...

This is not at all fake. This is true. See the last 5 digits of Build Number - 8.4.9 - The naming convention followed by xiaomi (Last letter of year, followed by month, followed by date)
And see the kernel built server. It is built by mi server.
See the kernel version it's 71 and not 102 (which most custom ROMs uses) or something which shows it's completely stock and from xiaomi
This might not have been released to the public beta. The testing might happen inside the xiaomi team where this pic got leaked somehow.
But I'm almost 99% sure, this is make by Xiaomi. Now my question is when will we get it? By the end of May at least? Fingers crossed..! Good to see Xiaomi keeps improving software rather than just giving monthly security updates for Mi A1.

And have Project Treble in this 8.1 beta?

Yeah. Thinking the same. Would love to see stock 8.1.0 on tissot. Would be even better if it brings treble support. :fingers-crossed:

and why in that ss is used old baseband?? Xiaomi decided to revert baseband on oreo 8.1??
Baseband of gennuary/febbruary was: ta.2.3....
New baseband is: 953_gen....
For me it is fake, and anyway need a screen of OTA update when it is downloading. SS of system info means nothing.

I really think that we'll recieve Android 8.1 at the end of this month, but the second thing that makes me doubt about originality of this screenshot is that I have never seen Xiaomi provide latest android security patch level with vendor/kernel specific patches, I mean it's always been like 01/04/2018, not 05/04/2018.

I don't think so. What's the point of doing it? We don't even know who did this. So I think this is real.

Cant Trust Xiaomi
From past experience we cannot really say that this is legit. My be xiaomi are focusing more on MIIU running devices than their only stock android device and i doubt they will even make another successor of Mi a1. Their poll in twitter might have hurt their ego and might be taking sort of revenge on Android One device (No judgement Just a Thought)

If xiaomi is smart enough, they'd definitely don't want to loose the customers who love stock ROM. There are a lot of people who love xiaomi for it's great value for money hardware spec and stock ROM experience. And xiaomi knows it very well. If xiaomi is smart enough, it'll update Mi A1 to 8.1.0 and will keep introducing new phones in the A1 lineup. That's what the most they can do to get both MIUI and Stock ROM lovers towards them.

I personally believe it's fake. I had 8.1 on my Nexus 5X before I switched to Mi A1, and 8.1 did bring back the traffic indicator arrows inside the icons, and the signal icons are slightly rounded at the edges. The picture is not very good quality, but they don't seem to have that rounded aspect on that screenshot.
Doesn't mean I don't believe we'll get 8.1, but this screenshot, I think it's fake.

Oh okay. Maybe I've been mistaking. As far as I did understood it, I need credits to use the stuff from them. If that's not the case, I revert my opinion on it.
It still takes 20 days until I get my 2s and it will take another 72hours (hopefully not 360h) to unlock the bootloader but I want to flash your global Rom as soon as it's possible. I don't really need it but it would be nice to know if it supports german language?
Just for clarification:

Original xiaomi global rom nightly builds.
These are official, global (BETA) builds. You can install Globals ONLY by unlocking your bootloader before. Before doing that, you have to wait 360 hours. Even, if you get the unlock possibility. Regardless if you are a Diamond Member (en.miui.com) or not.
Yeah just found out about the 360 hours waiting period - used to be 72 hours, wasn't it?
Sucks anyway....

For what I know if these are official global builds. Then you don't have to unlock your bootloader. Also if this was official it would be on MIUI site itself and not funkyhuawei. On the office site they even said there are not global builds for mi mix 2s atm
It is linking directly to Xiaomi's site. You think Funkyhuawei is somehow hosting files on Xiaomi's site? Xiaomi doesn't publish links to beta builds AFAIK, only sends to approved testers. Funkyhuawei is somehow discovering the secret links.

Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
You can not install Globals without unlocking your bootloader on China-Models. You can install however a global on any Xiaomi which is sold as a "Global"
Regarding that dude on xiaomi.eu: Official Mi Mix2s have to be unlocked. Maybe he got one with a tampered bootloader. I do have plenty of experience and i'm a diamond member over at en.miui.com
Again: these ARE BETA builds for a closed beta-group!

Android 10 release date confirmed!

https://www.phonearena.com/news/Android-10-release-date-confirmed-official-Pixel_id118451
As posted in the link above, Android 10 is set to launch on September 3rd.
As far as i am aware, manufacturers have to configure the Android 10 so it works optimally with their devices. And this process takes time to complete.
Does anyone rember how long it took to get Pie, when it was released for our device ? Thanks
Regarding Pie release: The first post in here appeared around November, while Pie itself was released around August. So it took roughly 4 months.

According to a Xiaomi Online Support attendant, 10 will start rolling out in UK this week.

No! It shouldnt be january!
Mi A2 Lite has pure Android.
- No Bloatware
- No UI
Plus our device supports Project Treble. They used this feature with Pie update. Our device's drivers didnt updated since 2018 because of the Project Treble they dont need to update those. But it will be good if they do.
There is nothing to be hard.

The hard thing is that xiaomi has problem with our vendor, that's why we don't see fully working custom versions of Android Q , the only way is flashing a gsi version , or Android 10 with custom vendor , so... they have big problem , mi a3 has the same problem , that's why the device is still on PIE (they have promised that the Q update for A3 will come in the end of October)
So... we'll see , miui 11 is still PIE too... so maybe the problem is not that small

Android 10 update

I was wondering when we will get the Android 10 update
Wondering the same .....
Probably not for a while, since I am not aware of any rumors of betas, even closed ones.
No respectable company should be pushing out a new product with a two year old OS, but here we are...
I like MIUI though, very Apple-like and the Mi Note is the first Android I am using without a third party launcher.

Question About Kernel Sources

Hi, people in this forum have constantly been saying "wait for kernel sources after that x, y, z would become better"
however there needs to be some clarification about this so that people can stop saying "wait for kernel sources" when any bugs/glitches are mentioned for this device
I know that people have been hoping that Xiaomi will release kernel sources real soon for this device infact i was one of them but sadly just hoping wouldn't help
The MiCode GitHub account which was responsible for releasing kernel sources for Xiaomi devices has been dead since late 2021
Infact some people could get in contact with the person who used to manage that account and the guy said that he left Xiaomi
and it doesn't seem like Xiaomi will be getting anyone hired soon
I'll attach some proof
I would like to get proven wrong but i don't think we r getting kernel sources anytime soon
I request people in this forum to actually provide a fix for any bug/glitch mentioned instead of just saying "wait for kernel sources" if there is none just mention that there is no fix
Edit: HOLD ON Pissarro just got it's kernel sources released
which is pretty weird since Snapdragon devices usually get their sources quicker than mtk devices?
but hey it's a chinese model and we all know how much Xiaomi loves their chinese community

They did not release snapdragon variant, The Redmi 11E Pro (i think that's what it's called) has been released there but instead of a snapdragon 695 they get a dimensity 920 and a few other quirks and the device codename is Pissarro
I don't know for sure, but the manufacturer is obliged to publish the kernel in order to use open source android code...
but as i say I'm not sure

I think they are absolutely obliged to release kernel sources for atleast 1 variant of the device and they have released kernel sources for the Redmi Note 11 Pro chinese edition (Pissarro)
This might actually get them out of any legal issues
but I'm not sure, i might be completely wrong

Question Xiaomi 13 Lite / Civi 2: camera subsystem swap, is it possible?

Hello to everyone! First of all, I apologize as I know this isn't the right sub-forum for the products I'm talking about but I've had no choice because one for the 13 lite or the Civi 2 doesn't exist.
I own a Xiaomi 13 lite and Xiaomi.eu is going to make a new release for it any soon so no issues for me but I was talking with a main developer along with other owners here.
I was confident the 13 lite and the Civi 2 were EXACTLY the same thing, just for different markets but this turned out not to be the case. Indeed, they are almost the same but not completely being the cameras different.
Apart from being very helpful and giving me a much better insight on how things really are, the main developer has clearly stated that Xiaomi.eu isn't goiing to deal with the Civi 2 (and I completely understand the reasons for such a statement) but I've been intrigued at the idea of a Civi 2 owner (not my case then but, for example, the one of Barb0ne there and I believe not only him) being able to take the 13 Lite Xiaomi.eu and just 'swap' the camera subsystem.
I can think about at least a couple of big reasons leading to Xiaomi.eu not doing that even if it was so plain simple (like I think it actually isn't) but what if a Civi 2 owner tries it by himself?
I know the camera subystem should be embedded inside the kernel so it is quite hard to deal with it (I can only think about rebuilding it from scratch), even on rooted phones. Maybe using modules but I don't know... I haven't the knowledge needed to have a better insight.
For example, I think that taking a Civi 2 official Xiaomi CN rom and getting the kernel from there then swap it with the Xiaomi.eu 13 Lite one is a complete nonsense and could only lead to bootloops or worse. Has anything like that ever been done? I'm very curious about that and that's clear the question is mainly for developers. Thanks for your opinions (if any) and a nice day to everyone out there.
Weird since there are common global versions.
Xiaomi Civi 2/13 Lite Global Stable Fastboot V14.0.1.0.SLLMIXM 12.0 6.9 GB 2023-01-10.
Xiaomi Firmware Updater

Which would mean that there is a Xiaomi civi 2 in global version since we cannot lock the bootloader on a CN version with a Global rom.
@NOSS8
Thanks for your follow-up. I don't know what to say: you're absolutely right that there on XiaomiFirmware it seems let's say 'unified' roms are available but this goes in contrast with what that main developer was saying on the thread I've linked above and this is rather strange.
I tend to give more and more credit to advices coming from him rather than a (very well done and useful but still automatically generated) site. As already explained, I own a 13 lite so I can't check by myself. Maybe Barb0ne would like to. Thanks and have a nice day!
The site is maintained by
yshalsagerwho is a Recognized Developer Oct 13, 2014 on XDA.
the roms are recovered from the official Xiaomi servers, you can check the MD5 which will be identical.
It may be an error from Xiaomi, it wouldn't be the first time.

Saying anything wrong against XiaomiFirmware wasn't my intention, not at all and I'd like to underline once more as I've already tried to in my previous message. I'm starting to think that Xiaomi could well manufacture two lines for the Civi 2: the global which is just a rebadged 13 Lite and the CN which has the different cameras. It could be an explanation (but a mess apart from a nonsense from Xiaomi; not the first time anyway, at least if I remember well).
See here, sold with the global rom with the unlocked bootloader.

Edit:
It's exactly the same problem as with the Xiaomi 12T Pro and Redmi K50 Ultra, same phone but completely different camera (not the case with the 13 lite and civi 2) and yet Xiaomi Eu exists for these phones.

It's possible that rom on the vendor site is not a official rom !

And you installed them with Miflash?
Weird camera problems with common versions, maybe wait for a next update.
Not a complaint, we've put here relevant informations anyway but my original question (and the meaning for such a thread being opened here on a developer's forum) has been slightly sidelined... That's a pity, at least for me. I'd prefer to receive at least something like a reply saying "Forget it, it is impossible to do!" (like probably it is the case) rather than nothing at all.

I saw the answer, that does not explain why there are common roms.

how do I install it since it's not a fastboot version and as far as I know TWRP is not there yet for CIVI 2?
I know that the hybrid xiaomi.eu roms can be installed via fastboot but I don't know what the syntax is

Also tried the latest official global ROM 14.0.4.0 (some sites specified that it was compatible with the Chinese CIVI 2 version) but in fact it is not compatible. I deduce that for european owners of CIVI 2 China, the only possibility is a developer who works on the Chinese rom possibly adding European languages, which I don't know the level of difficulty.
