Please I need help, last week I installed EMUI 9.0.1.158 on my MHA-L29 but I wasn't so impressed so I rolled back to 8.0.0.379 (by using HiSuite) and now I changed my mind but can't get to update anymore. No updates show up on System Update, HiSuite or HiCare. I deleted data & cache from System Update, even did a factory reset but nothing changed. How is it possible? I hope you guys can help me. Thank you.
I hv the same issue ,when I received the update notifications, I didn't update immediately and after few days it gone and I never get any notifications .please help.

I got delayed push notifications but then I realized it was my routers fault, so I want to install it again.
Firmware Finder says 9.0.1.158(C432) is not approved for installation but I had installed it before... This is weird

You receive the OTA?
I'm stuck on 8.0.0.376, do I need to upgrade via the spoof method to "latest" 8.0.0.xxx THEN try a full/partial 9.0 OTA?
Ive tried partial OTAs from 9.0 that are approved = hisuite says update failed.
Ive tried 1 full OTA from 9.0 that is approved = hisuite downloads passes all ok, phone reboots = verification failed (I assume phone is NOT connecting to internet on eRecovery phase right? but you never know. Since I'm only spoofing on windows not on the router).

New regions for 9.0 on the Mate 9 has been released at the start of June 3rd. In the next week, I guess we'll see who gets it
9.0.1.191(C432) has been approved for installation on FF, so the update should arrive during the coming days/weeks.
9.0.1.191 (C432) is approved for installation, I tried install via the firmware finder eRecovery method but the udpate stuck at downloading 0%
---------- Post added at 17:59 ---------- Previous post was at 17:23 ----------
It's quite strange that Middle East variant i.e. C185 has received the update since March and the Europe region is still waiting for the update. Whereas previously it was totally opposite.
Update: After wasting an hour and download the approved 9.0.1.191 via eRecovery from Firmware Finder, the package gave "Package Authentication Failed Error" on 99%.

So it has only this version on server BLN-L22C675B310CUSTC675D002 which is also showing that this firmware is not approved for installation in its check firmware access. Also its downloading but there is no option for "send to updater", instead there is download update.zip which I know can be flashed with the updater. For send to updater you need to enable proxy for installing then the option to send to updater
And the Hisuite show the update is official i have also install the update throught firmware finder
Those of you who wanna install the update through Firmware Finder.. go to settings in Firmware Finder and enable proxy. It'll ask you to download another proxy app. Do that. You should be able to send the update to the updater app and then use WiFi .. modify the network in your saved WiFi by setting proxy to 8080. The update should appear in the updater and you are good to go.

No, it doesn't work at 100%, often users detect problems of various types after using FF here on XDA, this because it can download even packages that not always match your phone variant...

Updates should be already came out if I'm not wrong, try to force the update by clicking on system uodaye -> 3 dots on the upper right corner -> down latest update. If nothing is found, try to write to Huawei and ask about the most recent update for your build
I have sent Huawei an email requesting information with regards to an update. Obviously I'll get no reply being the weekend so I have been sat here looking at firmware finder. So close to using it. From what I understand it won't void the warranty of the phone if I update using firmware finder. What if the update doesn't work can I revert back to the original version. What if the update bricks the phone? Is that easy to fix?
TIA

The rollback packages are available only for a limited amount of models at the moment (and i think forever, if Huawei wouldn't upload other packages as they've decided to do) so it could be a pain without a proper TWRP backup. For unbricking, there are some methods for doing that and it could be easy like it couldn't be, it just depends by the problem that could occur.
Ah thanks RedSkull. I might try and kerb my eagerness and see if I get a response from Huawei. This week's a bit busy so probably not the time to try anything risky.

Hi. I got an Honor 9 through Three in the UK approx 3 months ago. It came unbranded and is currently on C432B100. Has anyone in the UK received any updates since getting their phone via OTA. I have already questioned this through HiCare chat and they have stated that there are some security updates coming soon. I previously had a P9 which never received an update in the 2 years I had it. Live chat also said that the updates are done in batches but i doubt there are that many Honor 9's in the UK to receive updates that warrant it to be put in batches.
Im stuck in the same situation, still on B100 firmware, with, what seems like no hope of any updates, im waiting on official oreo, as from what i have read, huawei already has the correct partitions for project treble, and someone has got oreo treble working on a mate 9, which has the kirin 960, and i think someone else got it booted on an honor 9.
i guess its just a waiting game for now. oreo is in beta, so i expect an official update soon.
Just use the firmware finder app to spoof updates to your device. I used this and am now on B180 working fine.

Ive got firmware finder installed, and can download the latest firmware, i'm assuming i need to then flash the zip with TWRP, only problem ive got is that I don't have a microSD card.
unless you can perform a 'fake' OTA with the firmware finder app?
It also says that the firmware is not approved for installation when I check access
i've found a B180 firmware on ff and used the in app proxy to install but got an unstable network message after 65% which then reset to 0. Am i doing anything wrong?
This is a bug in firmwarefinder, happens to me also sometimes. also you guys dont need a custom recovery, leave everything stock, bootloader locked and frp and the HWFF update can still be done. When unstable network message occurs for me it always helped to stop the HWFF proxy and restart it, then when everything is downloading well i leave the phone alone till 100%. Then update starts in the same way as OTA directly out of settings menu. No need for recovery, sd cards etc. Only make sure that you get the FULL OTA package and proof your imei first. If its not approved the huawei check wont verify the firmware and the installation will fail (without consequences).
approved firmwares are B120, B150 and B180 as far as i have checked myself. For the other ones i think the best is to install the nocheck_recovery
Hello
You can use also Funky Huawei. However, it is not free. But, it works fine.
Do tools like funkyhuawei and dc-unlocker execute more sophisticated code than you can do yourself?
Hi. Just updated to B180 via FF proxy. Had trouble getting it to download via WiFi so used my mobile data and worked perfectly.
I finally got it to work, successfully on b180 now, don't see why b181 etc.. is listed as they are not approved for install

I think the proxy in FF is only to trigger the download. I always shut it down straight after the download starts.

Ok, I think not.
See demo: https://youtu.be/pt5pWPhcsW4
There's a short pause when you shut it down, but it resumes quickly afterwards on your standard connection.
Of course, there is nothing wrong keeping the proxy on during the download.
An update for people on B100 in the UK. I updated the other week to B180 via FF proxy. I received the OTA for B182 just now and everything working fine. So at least it still receives updates. One further mention, I previously had a p9 before my honor 9 and across almost 3 years this is the first update I have ever received. It makes.you wonder how bothered Huawei are about their phone updates.

Yes, I have a Middle East unlocked variant of Mate9. Last night, I got tired og Huawei's lazy and slow updater, so I downloaded Firmware Finder and it offered me the update, as soon as I changed my DNS setings.
Right now, its downloading a 2.67 GB OTA update. Its version number is coming up as 8.0.0.370 (C185).
HTH
I have downloaded the system update thru the Huawei official update tool, and both times after it downloads the large file, it tries to verify and refuses to install it, saying that Authentication Failed. This package is unauthorised and will be deleted. Please download and install an authorised installation package.
Any ideas, how to update to Oreo 8.0 ?
Thanks.
Firmware finder can only install if your IMEI is approved for update.
B370 is most likely too new to be approved yet for anyone.
@bym007 you can use HWOTA, which requires unlocking bootloader (can be locked again, so it says Lock and not relocked).
If you are on Nougat: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-update-package-t3593108
If you want to update Oreo - Oreo: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-oreo-update-package-t3699522
Or paid alternatives.
Thanks for your comment. I didn't how to check for eligibility. I have since found the latest Oreo update 8.0.0.360, and then updated my phone.
My phone was also showing strange lags and unpredictable behaviours here and there, so I used the opportunity to factory reset the phone after applying the update.
I've downloaded and installed Oreo build 371 with no issues on my Mate 9 MHA-L29C185.

Same here. And I also didnt want to go for that one update because I don't won't to mess with my phone yet. Now, when update 369 appeared in FF I tried update through VPN again and guess what? It offers me update to 369, correct for my version, even it's not yet approved!? (Screenshots)

I don't think there is much to be done through FF towards that. I tried in FF thread and in Telegram group, there is also ppl with same problem but no help. Alternative is unlocking bootloader and flashing new version.

I have to ask - how can I refresh the system update menu, as it only tries to make me download this wrong version update? I can't make it find any new updates, but it forces me into downloading this one. Do I just wait long enough until the correct update OTA hits my phone, or what? I'd like to get this thing "deleted" from the menu, and not download it for nothing.
EDIT: And yeah - the top-right menu has the "Download the latest full package" (or whatever the real English-translation is, my system is in Finnish) option so it can't be clicked.
EDIT 2: Problem solved. I deleted all the data the EMUI update app had, that cleared out this wrong update and now I can refresh the menu to search for updates again. Whew.

so everyone with same problem can help themselves.
And good options is to disable automatic system update in developer options, if you already play with FF and similar stuff, so the wrong firmwares won't even start to download. Then you just disable VPN (or DNS), check aganin for update in EMUI update app and wrong update is gone

That's because that one is not even approved yet but, if you try to update it through FF (VPN or DNS), EMUI update app (for whatever reason) recognized it. That's why I even didn't want to go with that one but I didn't excepted brik. Maybe not correct firmware message, or something like that

but I always update by the HWOTA8 method in the last 10 updates never occurred BRIK only this B369. Even unauthorized I always do for HWOTA8 and never gave a problem, just with this ROM B369
I think Huawei may know about this issue as all 369 versions no longer show as available for installation.
