Pixel dead -- need photos & contacts - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

I received an SMS from a friend and the phone vibrated but instead of vibrating for a moment it kept vibrating for about 15 seconds and was unresponsive to input so I held down the power button to turn it off and it has never reawakened. No vibration and nothing on the screen even during charging. I replaced the battery and I'm going to replace the screen next but I don't have much hope for that fixing it. I don't care about the hardware but I would like to have the photos and contacts which I haven't backed up. Any ideas?

[Q] [help] Phone is constantly vibrating even when off

My phone just arrived. I've plugged it in to make sure it's alive, it stated low battery so I've unplugged it and moved elsewhere. Now ever since I plugged it back in, it vibrates, constantly. It even plays vibrates over the top of it's constant buzz. It operates perfectly fine otherwise, it boots and I've set up my google account. Just curious if there was a way to solve this besides waiting out the battery.
Edit: smothering the power button to force it to turn off, even when it refuses to turn on due to lack of battery or even show anything on screen does stop the vibration. Guess it's a faulty device or something :/ *sigh*
Turns out that as soon as it vibrates it continuously vibrates at a low mode forever. So it can be fine until you plug in a charger, or receive a notification, then it's back to perma vibrate.

Nexus Won't Boot Up

Help! My nexus 5 won't turn on after only having it for about a year now.. It's not a boot loop!
Here's what's happening:
-My phone boots up to the google sign and then the 4 moving color dots... It never gets past this screen.
-If the phone is plugged in, the phone will continue this looping process all night.
-If the phone is not plugged in, it will only occur twice when the power button is pushed.
-If I attempt to access the bootloader, I only see the screen for a split second until the google screen reappears and the loop begins all over again.
-I can get past the 4 dot screen by repeatedly hitting the power button on an interval of roughly once per second.
-If I do this, the next screen to appear is the "Android is upgrading.." "optimizing 0 out of 130 apps."
-This screen will not progress through all 130 apps however, unless i keep pressing the power button at the interval of roughly once per second.
I used to successfully make it through the start up process this way and be okay for the day, but now my phone will shut off once the home screen is reached. It seems to me that the power button was a bit too sensitive, but I took the phone apart and it is working fine. I did drop my, which cracked the screen, about a month ago. About a week ago is when the problems began to occur. The insides look good though, just the screen which is cracked. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I'm trying to hold out for the Nexus 5 (2015)!
Dead power button it is.
In Indian LG service centers they replace out of warranty handset's power button for 330inr roughly 5usd.
I had the exact problem and thought is discarding the phone, but the repair fixed it.
Thanks, I'll look into this. Maybe try to do it myself real quick.
It's not easy to replace yourself, ad the button is soldered to the board. Best give it to a pro lab.
Bang it on a hard surface like a table. That is a temporary fix when my power button starts to act up. You can try hitting it on the palm of your hand, but that doesn't really jar it enough.

Moto g 2nd generation display turns off

When I start my Moto G2 (XT1038) from cold, the entire boot animation plays and the home screen shows and the phone works fine. The moment the phone is locked and I press the power button to turn the screen on and entire my pin, the area near the microphone heats up rapidly to a point where I can not touch the spot for more than a few seconds. The screen stays blank though. After a few minutes of inactivity the area cools down. But if I try to turn the screen on the same thing happens. Meanwhile, I can hear the alarms I have set in my phone, go off at designated times, can hear the incoming phone call rings, SMS / message notifications, etc. But cannot get the screen to come on after the initial bootup. Can not turn off the phone either, same thing happens. Battery lasts as usual. No heating issues while charging. Any ideas why this might be happening? It is running Marshmellow at the moment, and the update happened many weeks before this issue. Auto-updates are turned off.
Not sure if I need to replace the display or battery or some other hardware.

[LCD Replacement] Screen doesn't light up after sleep

Hello everyone,
I bought a LCD replacement for my OPO, and asked a friend to replace the screen (he had his own OPO, and changed the screen on it a couple times, so I trusted him).
The frame was not included, so the phone is without it unfortunately.
But I have this problem with the screen itself...
I boot the phone, everything goes well, it boots, everything ok, I can do everything...
Then the phone goes to sleep after the 30s, and sometimes when I press the button to turn it on, the lights in the bottom light up, I can hear sounds, I can swipe to answer calls for example, but the screen stays all black.
If I press the power button to turn it to sleep mode and then click again to wake it within 1 or 2 seconds, it works everythime.
Its just when it goes to sleep... And then I have to press the power button to reset the phone, and it boots again.
I'm using the LineageOS Rom, and I never had problems like this before replacing the LCD.
What caused this? Could the screen be "broken" when I bought it?
Thank you for reading this and for the help!

Well, clearly the issue is lcd itself.Happened with me on my last screen replacement,it was defective.Though in my case,I had to power on/off the device to get the display back.Get a refund or replacement, there's no other alternative.

Samsung S8+ suddenly died

hey,
all the sudden, my S8+ died but I'm not sure if it's bricked or the screen is dead. Please chip in your ideas.
Everything was fine and the screen got black, the phone was still working but the display didn't have anything on it. Top LED was OK.
I tried to restart the device from my memory thinking that it's a system bug and did it.
The phone didn't wake up after that, or maybe it did but I cannot see the screen.
Now, when I hold down the power and vol - key the phone vibrates but no LED or display
if I only hold the power key nothing happens, no led or vibrations.
the phone used to vibrate randomly when untouched with a blinking blue LED. I'm not sure if it still does.
my screen has a crack on top, what I'm thinking is that water got in and did stuff
I need to access my google authorization app, and that is the only reason why I want it to be repaired. But, if it's going to be formatted during the repair work, it just doesn't worth it anymore.

Hi there,
That happened to me too exactly the way it happened with you. I just had to change the display with digitizer that i bought online and now everything is working fine.
